FSU Basketball Transfer Portal Targets
SPEAKER_00Let me ask you one question The North Florida sport North Florida sports.
SPEAKER_01You gotta give us a shot! You know what you're doing.
SPEAKER_00The North Florida sports portal Portal Control Hoops hoops hoops.
SPEAKER_03It's right in the middle of it. As the transfer portal's wide open for next year's college basketball season, the rosters will be put together here. I like how they do that right after the tournament. Yeah. I mean, there's no time to celebrate for one coach, but that's it. But get it over with whatever everyone's you know it's on their mind. But the FSU team right here in our neck of the woods is gotten a guy from Cincinnati. Yeah. Sean Abev. Nice. Nice shot there.
SPEAKER_04Former McDonald's All-American last year, the number 22 player in the country coming out of high school. Originally from Calvary Christian in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. 6'8. Averaged about seven points last season for the Bearcats. A lot of untapped potential, hopefully, there. They got three other main targets. Cameron Taylor out of UNC Asheville, another wing player. He averaged 18 points for them last year. That's their biggest, their biggest target. Um he's already visited. Sebastian Ranzik, big man out of Colorado. Also already visited, and today they have Anthony Robinson, the second point guard out of Missouri, local kid, played at Florida High. He's on his visit right now. Those seem to be the big ones.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. What's the biggest one of all those?
SPEAKER_04I would say Taylor, just because of the scoring ability, you're gonna have to replace Robert McCrae.
SPEAKER_03Um the Jay Jones.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, yeah, and the Jay Jones. Uh they they're gonna, you know. Right, right. And I think you bring in a guy that that can score like like Taylor can, and you hope that maybe one or two of your freshman wings that you're bringing in can put some points up.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, you're gonna hopefully spread it around a little more this upcoming season. Yeah. You don't want to heavily I mean, because you don't first of all, you don't have a guy like that. No, you're not. Right, but ideally you wanna have more.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. You'll have uh some versatility in the wing players. If they get these two guys, you get Ebe Ev and uh Taylor, you mix him with the song potentially Swinton, and then the guys are bringing in in the recruiting class. I mean, you're gonna have five or six options there at Wing. I think you'll see a bigger rotation there. Um It'd be nice to get Rancic out of Colorado to some more size down there, replacement for Steen. Bring him in with Ponder.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Well that's looking forward to next basketball season already.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Well, it comes right after baseball. There's nothing in between that.
SPEAKER_03Uh speaking of baseball. FSU was able to get a midweek W after the getting swept on the road to the best team in the country, if not one of 'em.
SPEAKER_04Best lineup in the country. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Without question. So nothing to be ashamed of there. The last one's the one you got routed in. You were in the first two. Probably could have won the first one if you just played the clean game.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, the the the first one. The first two.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that that lineup's for real. You gotta be at your best, and you gotta be mistake free to even have a shot. And you still might not win. Yeah. To even to even hold a shot, I think what one good thing I saw was Wes Mendez hell zone.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03They're gonna be there are only a few pitchers that are gonna be able to do that. That's the strength of the team now for sure, is him.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, he made one mistake. The two-run bomb that he gave up, and that's it. Yeah, against the best lineup in the country. If you hold them to four runs, like you have got to put up. Well, yeah, they've been scoring three runs.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. And they need to score more. They got more against that, so we'll see what happens this weekend. They're playing what Notre Dame.
SPEAKER_04Right. It's arguably the top pitcher in the conference for Notre Dame coming into the weekend. Statistically. So we'll see. Friday's gonna be the game. It's here, here, and Dick.
SPEAKER_03Alright, well. It'd be a good crowd.
SPEAKER_04It'd be big, it'd be big to get back on track. I mean, Notre Dame is not they're not in the top 12 of the ACC in terms of record, but again, this isn't a team that you can just go and and steal.
SPEAKER_03You need to get back on you need to find some you need to find some consistency. You need to find a lineup that can roll over, man, and then can start building towards the end of the year.
SPEAKER_04Starting to see some more power out of 100 carns here these last couple weeks. Yeah, you get you're getting some guys back. Um Gabe Fraser played in midweek.
SPEAKER_03One guy played in in Atlanta.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, yeah, Smelia was back. Shmela.
SPEAKER_03Shmela.
SPEAKER_04Um, but you know you gotta ride with with carns as your big bopper from here on out. Right.
SPEAKER_03Well, you hopefully uh everybody can you know you can play timely hitting and play smart.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, it's gonna have to look different, man. Then it and it if they wanna make it to super regional, they're gonna have to play a different style of baseball.
SPEAKER_01There it is!
SPEAKER_02What, more? What'd you think I was starting with?
Masters Talk And Quick Congratulations
SPEAKER_03That's right. Roaring macro Defended his grandfather. After I'm still after playing under control, we have to have a shot. I think it it's I farmer in the most intriguing tournament because it's at the same year, so it's a good thing. It's a tradition. Arcadia. Arcadia! Congratulations to Roy McIntyre. Good job, Roy. Joins Tiger, Jack, and Nick Fialdo as the only golfers to ever win the Masters back to back. Faldo. Big Faldo. Anything you want to add? Huh? Yeah, exactly. Exactly. Oh, right. What? Shuttle time.
SPEAKER_01I'll see you coming. We had to go. All right, here we gotta hit the shuttle.
SPEAKER_02That's right. Hey, kick that funky.
SPEAKER_03We gotta get on out of here.
Offseason Noise Portal Draft Playoffs
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Sets the table for the uh the upcoming rest of your summer.
SPEAKER_03That's right. Heating up outside.
SPEAKER_04Fall. Absolutely nothing going on sports-wise.
SPEAKER_03Really? I've been really trying my best not to not talk about it. Any of it, yeah.
SPEAKER_01I mean it's very much on the table.
SPEAKER_03But if you can do a good job avoiding it, kind of pops up on this bracket. It is interesting.
SPEAKER_04We know it's getting close because who's gonna grab it? Or start to talk about which players killed somebody, which players gotten arrested five times in his career. So it's gotta be a couple weeks away.
SPEAKER_02Eight months. It's getting close.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Quadruple background chat here about like, oh, we already knew all about this, but let's go back into it. Yeah, let's go back.
SPEAKER_02Six years ago, this kid had a bad case of doubt. Flares up again, maybe on show.
SPEAKER_04Right, right, he did. Right, the only power five win that they had. I believe he was the only FPS quarterback that lost to the Seminole's.
SPEAKER_03I don't know. Well, did he kill anybody? I think he's got the right attitude and the right.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, and you can study all. If you're gonna take the quarterback, you don't you're not taking somebody else. Right. But I mean they did do some good things.
SPEAKER_03Right. Well, you guys make it something. Do you just trade the portal? Well, we'll see how the portal shakes out. We'll watch that. Draft's coming up. Keep an eye on that, and we'll talk to you next time, right here, on the North Florida Sports Network. The NBA playoffs. Nobody watches the NBA.
SPEAKER_01You gotta give us a shot! You know what?
