SPEAKER_02The north blow this board north blow this board north blow the north blow this you gotta give us a shot you know what you gotta shot the north glory sports hey what's up welcome back been a while I got Jimmy Reno here we got to do some NBA playoffs uh college baseball is coming down to the final regular season baseball forever as we come to the middle of May man Yeah yeah Yeah it's getting hot yeah it is it sure is man it's getting real hot it's getting hot out there real stinking hot but uh let's go to college baseball your Seminoles lost one in Clemson but they took the series big bounce back road series for getting swept last time they went on the road first series win at Clemson since 2014. There you go. And RPI wise that's still a good what was that yeah it's it's they're they're still considered a quad one win I guess because it's almost like and I would say with their Purifoy guy back in the lineup they're a better team and they were desperate so I think yeah they weren't you that was more impressive than the record shows that win for just to be there and they could have eat they could have swept but uh you know passball yeah they but credits Clemson they shut down Florida State in that second game right there after they got three they just shut down the guy they brought in in game two was it was lights out 14 straight or something yeah um starting pitching for Florida State did well the whole series it you know it was right now baseball America has FSU as a nine seed and Florida as an eight seed yeah it'll be something stupid like that so but I mean Florida State's right in that position where if they were to finish strong like say if they sweep Miami and win the ACC you think that I think they're gonna get a national seed. But that's probably what it would take. Yeah anything short of that yeah but um the good news is there's four locks right now as a national seed as long as you don't get swept you're probably definitely gonna host yeah and you might even still host even if you get swept it's possible um I think you know you win one game you lock up that top four finish in the ACC and I think you lock up a top 16 but we'll see yeah yeah I mean you finish in the top four um they're gonna get you and you and yeah UNC and Georgia Tech are are national seeds right those they got those on lock um the other two yeah if FSU can finish strong and get a you know if they win the ACC with two national seeds in it that they didn't win it just the tournament I think that gives them the seven or eight right and then it also depends on how Florida finishes and you know that that's where they're all the other SEC teams right that's that's proud of them.
SPEAKER_01That's what it's about um you know UCLA will get the top overall seed that they're pretty much locked in at number one right you got the two teams from the ACC Georgia Tech and UNC and then you the the right right where they were last year. Right you got Georgia that's gonna win the SEC regular season by multiple games.
SPEAKER_02Yeah so they'll probably come in Texas is still gonna get a national seed too Georgia probably as well yeah Georgia will get it Auburn too that that's the thing like those last four national seeds so that's SEC getting four at least oh yeah yeah so there's four more and two of them are going to North Carolina and Georgia Tech so there's two more one of them's going to UCLA so there's one more yeah there's teams vying for well Kansas just got swept at home state has a shot I guess Florida shot Alabama's got a shot's got a shot so those that's that's kind of I'd I'd say Kansas is probably out of it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah you're right you get swept at home by West Virginia that's true um so FSU pretty much against those other SEC teams losing to Florida though when it comes head to head to them that might be right if it if it comes down to those two teams they're gonna give the nod to Florida at that in that case you well that's why I I read when it's eight nine right and I I mean to me that's lazy by the the that's a midweek series right and it it again it it just goes to show it it's you know they don't really care if teams play each other again in the postseason in baseball.
SPEAKER_02Well that's just a projection yeah I and again like Florida's got a win they're going to LSU LSU is a team that's playing that was just a big series win in a place that's been a nightmare um what you needed to do was go out go up there and win the series to just take all at least you want to host yeah the next round winning at Clemson is never right it's a different there's a hill in the morning track yeah the the team the two years ago the team that went to the college world series and had Tennessee beat like they went up there and got swept. Right.
SPEAKER_01That's with James Tibbs and Dingis and Ferrer and all those guys it it so it's it's a tough place to play. Yeah and Clemson it you know they got talent it adds a little cherry on top that you probably ended any hopes for Clemson to make the postseason yeah by winning that series.
SPEAKER_02Now if you go and that purifoy kid he's good I mean he looked like the best player on the field and they're a different team with him but yeah well that there's you know luckily for them I guess no bad for them they didn't they just got too many losses. Now that he's back they're not able they're probably not going to be able to do anything with it.
SPEAKER_01Right. Um you know they had some projections preseason that didn't really material you know Aidan Cannock the kid that was picked pitcher of the year preseason he started game three for Clemson and didn't even you know he he went four innings I think but like he's two and seven on the year so he's had a down year. They just haven't been able to put it together. Louisville's in the same boat preseason top ten they probably won't make postseason so what are the scenarios for the ACC seeds I know that Georgia Tech and North Carolina are you one and two. You're one and two um and it's it's you know Boston College right now and and Florida State are tied at the three Boston College has to play Georgia Tech this weekend and Florida State playing Miami. However that shapes will determine three and four okay now if Miami sweeps FSU there's a shot that they could leapfrog and go up to number four. I don't think that they will you know the head to head in Miami and BC will go to BC because BC has a series win over them but yeah you you you know you're looking at probably being in the top four or three or four depending on it either way it doesn't really matter. Now should Florida State sweep Miami then winning the ACC tournament becomes pretty important because you could you know you could find yourself getting that last national seed.
SPEAKER_02I mean there's some projections that have used an eight there's one I mean that baseball america had eight nine but this other one US um USA Today has got us at the eight Florida at 10.
SPEAKER_01Right and it all it it all comes down to to who you're being compared with in the RPI. If it's Florida State and Florida up against each other they're gonna give the nod to Florida but you know Florida can go to LSU this weekend lose two at three and not even be in that conversation anymore. And then then you have the then you have that team out west in uh Corvallis that it's not in a conference yeah and that has a good record they have a good record but what's killing them is that they've lost pretty much every midweek game this year.
SPEAKER_02We'll see how but that's going to be key what they how they yeah how they evaluate that team.
SPEAKER_01Well they always want to have some West Coast representation and with their history it feels like they always get they're gonna get the benefit I think with UCLA being the top seed you may find the other West Coast host sites will be outside of the top eight I I would not be surprised if Oregon State gets a top eight seed.
NBA Playoffs And Spurs Thunder Talk
SPEAKER_02I just wouldn't I mean look at their record yeah it's a really good it's really good the the RPI yeah that would be the one thing but like you just said there with the um they want to have who else is going to do it out west well you see you have USC yeah but they're not gonna like it won't be a national seed no I I think they can other team that has any kind of shot at being national seed would be Order State I I think it's more they probably do that more of an emphasis on just having regional host sites than actual national seeds I I don't I don't know man it like one thing Florida State has going in their favor is the only midweek team they lost to this year is Florida. You know you have a bunch of other schools you know Georgia Tech Auburn Alabama even Florida that have lost to lesser opponents in the midweek well that it's all right ahead of you man I think this is you got my you don't need any motivation it's your last weekend series against Miami so that's that's a rivalry but man it there's a lot to play for um there's seeding on the line uh double bye in the ACC national seed at stake with a good finish so a lot to look forward to in college baseball softball team got that nine seed got screwed out of the national seed even though they did beat UCLA who was the eight they're gonna if they beat Tennessee too right so that's just how it goes man it it you know it's the SEC's world everybody else just living in it. Alright well it's that time of year as well for NBA playoffs um we're at the conference semifinals a couple teams have already they're already on to the conference finals that was that is the Oklahoma City Thunder they have not lost a game yet this in the playoffs and the New York Knicks who are blowing everyone out. Yeah uh in the other series the Spurs took a 3-2 lead and they look like they're going to finish things up as long as Wimbin Yama stays on the court um and then the East you have game five tonight uh Pistons Cavs right so that's probably the only that that who knows but that's a big game tonight but it looks like I mean everyone says then the Knicks look like they're gonna win the East but that's what you said last year and then they lost to the Pacers. Yeah so I think that I think the wet the whole it's gonna come down to the next round Spurs versus Thunder and I think just watching the Spurs if they can if everybody's there they can give the they're the only team that can beat the Thunder. Yeah and and it's just matchups. Yeah not to mention you got I mean you got Wimben Yamba so they're there he cancels out their guy. Right Holmgren which I mean if Wimbin Yama wasn't in like on the league this guy would be he'd be yeah so much more plubbed of how like special he is because he's he's been playing really well yeah I mean they're killing people and he's like seven feet you know he's rebounds and but wimbinyama's like seven five right seven five and just it's ridiculous and it is ridiculous. He got uh thrown out in game four for an elbow and they lost that game they should have won uh they did not get suspended I think that was because it was in the first half yeah they kicked the shit out of them last night that's what I want to see I've been wanting to see it pretty much all season once you you you kind of knew just checking in in the league all right OKC's for real who can challenge them and then you're like oh let's see the Spurs right that's gonna be got the guy but what what's what's good about them is the supporting cast they got Ron Harper's kid second pick in the draft yeah he's coming off the bench Devin Vassell Florida State guy Castile they got uh the other Cassel who's a guard he's he's and then they got Darren Fox too so they and they and they have Harold they got Barnes as a coming off the bench so as a team that can match up with the nice mix OKC you know they they play a lot of dudes and they can just come off the bench this is the the one team that matches up well with them and you know that Jalen Williams is out for OKC right now so man I want to I can't wait. I I I think I got the Spurs in that series yeah I think I got a rematch of the 99 finals the Spurs Knicks about that about that the strike shortened season.
SPEAKER_01Yeah that'd be sick yeah it would be fun screw OKC screw see if the Knicks can do it.
SPEAKER_02I mean there's gonna be they this is exactly the situation they were in last year. Yes I mean you still have you're gonna have to play either the Cavs or the Pistons and to that's what New York does they just get so excited and they start well dude if if it's the Cavs if it's the Cavs the Cavs aren't beating the Knicks. I mean the the Pistons will have home court so I mean you never know I mean when you start predicting and that things are going to happen you gotta you gotta play the game first. But I think that the NBA will be decided in the Western conference finals. Yeah can't wait to see that I'm with you on that yeah you think you think the Spurs are going to do it?
SPEAKER_01No I don't think they're gonna do it. I think they'll beat go seven or go seven yeah I think they're the only ones that are going to beat OKC yeah it's gonna be a hell of a series and then I think OKC will get in the finals and go in four.
NFL Gossip And Media Fallout
SPEAKER_02The Thunder you just have to bring it you know and nobody's been able to match their roster yet and the Spurs can and I think that they can beat them and I don't I just think that they can win the series because they have the unicorn yep and and I will say Gil just Alexander is a two time MVP and that's going to be the difference but the bodies the number of different bodies they can throw at him yeah the Spurs actually have a lot of long lengthy defenses that can that can just try to guard him then you have Wimbanyamba in the on the back end I I'm the equalizer man that that's but that's it yeah I mean he's it's incredible.
SPEAKER_01I mean he's just something it's weird to look at Wimby it really is it's a freak show freak show many freak show it's the gigantors man they're they're they're coming back the giants seven foot five a hundred years from now it's not even gonna be that tall yeah eight foot three guys we didn't get to the big NFL story and that is um Diana Rossini reporter scandalous come out with her and uh Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel right God like they actually tried to like play it off those photos like those are those were private investigator type photos not just some fan seeing it like all the stuff that's coming out now like the pictures of the Super Bowl parties and stuff like that's just you know that's fan stuff that's what the NFL is now it's just gossip. But no that that those photos were like boom we got you guys you're busted like here you are on a rooftop suite like with each like come on right I just you should have just came out and owned it yeah yeah just you know just and then and then you can move on but now that you don't right like now like oh everyone's gonna buy oh there's another photo there's another photo oh yeah instead of just saying you know what you know what we had a relationship oh yeah it's gross now man like you did the the I we did we we we liked each other we hung out and you know when it we shouldn't have done it right the the photo with when she's what eight months pregnant getting on the boat with a that was a girlfriend right that's a girlfriend it's like it it and now you got people out there there's there's stuff being written about you know oh well is that Vrabel's kid or is it like dude it's getting gross now and it's all because you tried to deny it. Yeah it just got to come out right they should have just owned up and it's I mean like the Patriot like come on dude what a I'll tell you right now grimy organization I was gonna say there are the people are like oh are they gonna fire him it's like what you think craft is fired right right you kidding me like listen if he starts losing games then yeah this is yeah this is a that's the only way he's getting fired right I mean it it yeah man this which might happen it could they're not gonna have that cake schedule this year right and it is a huge distraction you know I mean like that they they can say what they want but like come on dude like Rabel knows now he's but the thing the thing that gets me is if you read the reports it's like people in within the NFL circles like it wasn't a secret.

SPEAKER_01Right exactly like I'm an executive with the the Cincinnati Bengals but anytime you're at a function or she using it like she's you gonna get stories and whatnot but what does that have to do with me?

SPEAKER_01And what that what that tells me is also that that shit's going on a lot more than people realize.
SPEAKER_02And the more the NFL tries to go global and all this they're gonna get more publicity there's gonna be more of this type of coverage. Yeah yeah well and I mean this is this you know this is two married it's a married coach with a married reporter and again well that's the thing somebody that's the problem somebody hired that private investigator. Right that's the thing it's it sucks for the the you know now for people in the industry you know right that don't want to try to bang coaches to get the story.

Braves Surge And Catcher Slumps
SPEAKER_02That guy carries water for every source that he gets I mean he just know there's no real credibility to any of that just seems more like pro wrestling yeah yeah yeah indeed shuttle time uh shuttle yep you said it we gotta get on out of here before we go the dog days of summer but how about those Atlanta Braves yeah the best record in baseball that's right another huge win last night it's the Cubbies yep they beat the Dodgers and now that started off with a win against the Cubs the two best other two top teams in the NL the only series they lost all year was the Mariners Dumper ain't doing nothing this season finally broke out of his slump last night I think he'd been like oh for his last 33 something like that but he took a shower in full uniform to wash the bad mojo off and then it worked yeah it's not gonna match no way no that's why it was such a pressing to yeah but that that's that's what happens to catchers.

Like, what if I turn it down and then I get hurt on PGA tour? You gotta get a real job. Yeah. Screw that.
