Hello everyone and welcome to the first episode of the 2024 podcast, Unbound Ambitions. I'm going to change the layout of the setup. I've been experimenting on what it will be good, more beneficial, to give great value to you, and I've decided that one of the best ways to provide great value and share things that are going to help you change something that is no longer serving you in your life, achieve something that you've always wanted but you find it so hard to achieve it Make that beautiful, loving, connected relationship with your partner, with your husband, with your kids, with your co-workers. Show up in the boardroom with confidence and faith in your beliefs. Get rid of the imposter syndrome, Get rid of the I am not good enough roadblood.

I'm going to try and share with you my experiences my life journey, what I've learned over the 22 years of this personal development journey that I am on, and I am going to show you that whatever you want to achieve in life is possible. I've done it. I've changed my life, I've changed my course of life, because I refuse to believe that there's only one way of doing things. I refuse to believe that, as a woman, my choices are limited. I refuse to believe that my family's financial situation was going to determine how successful I became in life. I choose to believe in myself, and I'm not saying that believing in myself and taking a different course, a different path that the one of the societies recommended, the cultures recommended, what women can and can do recommended. It was easy. What I'm going to share with you are simple strategies, a simple way of thinking, a different way of thinking, but it doesn't mean it's going to be easy. It can be hard sometimes, but if you are willing to start questioning the status quo, if you're willing to start questioning the stories that your mind is telling you, then I promise that you are going to see things differently, you are going to experience life differently, you are going to create different results. Okay, enough of this long introduction, which it was great, actually. Today I just want to tell you how I set up goals for each year and also why it's important to evaluate the previous year. So I have created the Reflect and Rise Workbook. It's a year-long evaluation for understanding where you are, for fulfillment and for growth, and I will give you a link on the show notes so you can download it and start using it.

But today I want to share with you my journey. So, with my husband, we have this ritual every year Towards mid-December, towards the end of December, we allocate some time away with kids and we go to a beautiful hotel, to the lounge, we sit down, we order our drinks, the Christmas music playing on and we go through this evaluation. We do this reflection because if you want to change things in your life, if you want to change the things that they no longer serve you, you have to understand what's going on. First, you have to see what mistakes you've made, what actions you took that actually you shouldn't, or what actions you took that they didn't bring the result that you wanted. And once you go through this evaluation, then there is another process of setting goals. But the difference is I don't set goals based on the smart model or any other model out there. It doesn't work for me. I'm not saying that it's not a good model, but for me it doesn't work because you see a goal based on that model and again it's for me. If you like that model, please go ahead and follow.

It comes out as a chore, as another project, as something additional to my to-do list, to my already busy schedule, and I resist it. And many of us resist following the goals that we set and that's why, by the mid of January, most of us, or many of us we forget our new year's resolutions. So what I do? I decide on my goals based on the experiences that I want to have in life, based on what I want to feel when I achieve that goal, on what I want to see, on what I want to, in what environment I want to be, and I write everything down.

Speaker 1:

I allocate five minutes with the beautiful background music and I write down the experiences that I want to have in my life and I allow my mind to go free everywhere to dream and visualize my dream lifestyle, without restrictions, without the how. The how during this process it doesn't really matter. What matters is how do I want to live. Excuse me. What matter is what do I want to feel, and I will give you an example. Let me print out my list here. I've wrote and rewrote this list so many times this past year, so I want to experience having a strongly healthy body at the age of 51, low and feel younger, have this energy, this vibrancy, this feminine essence that gives me joy and fulfillment. This is one of my goals. Actually, I am 51 years old, if you are watching this on YouTube, you can see me.

Speaker 1:

For those of you that you listen to podcasts, I am 51 years old. I don't know if you are. I look younger but I want to devote more time on my health, on my vitality, on my body, to make it stronger, to make it leaner, to make it healthier. This is one of my goals. So the minute you write Gold Space on your experience, immediately you are getting excited about doing something towards it. But if my goal was I want to lose 10 kilos and I want to go to the gym every single day for an hour and exercise to make my body strong, immediately this Gold doesn't inspire me. Actually, I resisted. I even resisted. Now that I gave you as an example to you. It's not fun, it's not exciting, it's boring, it's hard work. So take five minutes, put some music on and write your goals based on the experiences that you want to have. A caution here Don't write down a goal. I want to make 100 K this year so I can travel to Lake Como. That's another experience that I want to have.

So my experience from Lake Como is.

Speaker 1:

I want to experience the beauty, the tranquility, the vibe, the food taste, the beautiful food of Lake Como, and I want to have this experience with my husband. I want us to walk down to these beautiful alleys, I want us to have the breakfast by the lake. I want us to wake up in the morning seeing that beautiful view of Lake Como. Write your goals this way and, once you finish with your experiences, go to growth. That's the second section of my goal setting, and growth is who do I need to become to have these experiences in my life? What do I need to learn? What books do I need to read? Maybe? What podcast do I need to listen? What audio books? If you don't like books, I need to listen. What courses do I need to enroll myself into? Do I have to hire a coach or a mentor to help me change some things, to overcome limiting beliefs, to change some habits that they are going to help me bring these experiences into my life? That's the second column. Another five minutes and then the third column you are okay is contribution. A great goal is going to utilize only if not only you are benefiting, but also other people are benefiting too. So contribution has many forms. I contribute right now by sharing this valuable information with you.

Speaker 1:

This is one way of contribution sharing your value, giving something to the world that they can also benefit. This is one way. Another way of contribution is giving your time to someone that needs help. I do pro bono coaching sessions. You can also give money, donate money. You can also sit down with a friend who has a problem and wants someone to listen. She wants to talk. Another form of contribution is to practice active listening to your family, for your family, for your partner, or be a great leader in a way that you listen, you understand, you guide. These are different ways of contribution. So who do you need to become in the growth section? And then, who would you love to help? How would you love to help? How would you love to give and help people transform their lives? The biggest gift for me in this job is helping you, helping my clients to create one insight that can change tremendously their life. This is one of the best ways for me to contribute to give.

Okay, so the formula is experiences growth contribution, and once you go through this exercise, write it clearly down and then have it somewhere you can see daily and plan based on what you have created.

Start planning things into your yearly calendar. So for me to have this vitality and tranquility and this strong and lean body, apart from exercising, devoting time every day to exercise, to have good nutrition, I've decided and I haven't left on my calendar that every second month I am going to create a meetup. Some months I'm going to go away for two nights, or one night on my own, go to a spa retreat or to a beautiful hotel and recharge. Other times I'm going to stay a whole day off everything switched off, phone notifications, no work, nothing and I will explore something that I love around the island, or maybe I would go for a whole day spa. This is one of the things that I have on my calendar. Create your calendar. I hope you find this episode helpful. I wish that 2024 brings you everything your whole desires. You have the power to create the lifestyle that you want.
