The authenticity gap between brand messaging and real customer experiences has never been more apparent. When we trust recommendations from friends over advertisements, we're participating in the trust economy that makes user-generated content (UGC) so powerful.
In this enlightening 3-part series with Chynna Morgan, we dive deep into how businesses can leverage customer testimonials to build credibility while simultaneously reducing their content creation burden. As Chyna explains, "Content created by your customer, by a user, by a real person...putting the power in the hands of your customer content creator to really vouch for you, talk about you, so other people can be like, 'hey, I need to buy from [this brand].'" This peer validation drives conversions at rates traditional marketing simply cannot match.
We explore how video testimonials particularly supercharge this effect, capturing emotions and authentic reactions that resonate deeply with prospective customers. Beyond marketing advantages, we discover how UGC provides invaluable feedback that can guide product development and business strategy. "I'm not trying to build everything for everybody," explains our host. "I want to be relevant with this problem...and getting that feedback helps remove all the noise."
The key insight: successful UGC collection isn't about adding another marketing task—it's about creating opportunities to capture customer feedback during their peak "aha moments." With tools like Vidlo, businesses can systematically collect these testimonials, building a content library that works year-round without the constant grind of content creation.
Ready to transform your marketing approach? Listen now to discover how to leverage your customers' voices to build trust, gain insights, and create authentic connections that convert.

UGC: Necessity or Option?
Speaker 1All right , welcome back guys . So we are talking about user-generated content , a necessity or an option . I'm here with Chyna , I figured I'd add that in there .
Speaker 2I like that .
Speaker 1I like that .
Speaker 2Is it a necessity or an option ?
Speaker 1You know , you know , I'm here with Chyna Morgan , we're kind of going through it and , I have to say , when I came across Vidlo and the things that you were doing with it and its purpose and its desire , I was really like . I was like , yeah , this , this , this works , like this can work , like . As soon as I saw it , I was like , oh , I immediately see how this fits into play for everything pertaining to getting authentic content , authentic feedback , authentic reviews for your business and thus being able to use that as marketing for the business , for the enterprise , for the creative , for the entrepreneur , like whatever it is . So let's kind of go into the world of Vidlo and , as we're talking about this , the question in conversation is how do we go about capturing and like creating content and creating UGC right for this online social media world ? So let's dive into Vidlo a little bit . Walk me through it . How does this work ? What's the process like ?
How Vidlo Works
Speaker 2So the inspiration behind Vidlo was I really wanted to come up with a solution that allowed brands , entrepreneurs , small businesses , artists capture content so easily that they don't even have to think about it right . So I wanted to make it a way that they can send their audience a link . The audience can record it right on the device , wherever they're at , and then it's already branded , whether it's your music , whether it's with your filters , your logo , whatever . So now , all as a brand , all you have to do is share it . Right , there's nothing for you to do but to create the campaign , share the campaign and then share it on on your social or on your website , wherever . So I wanted to kind of eliminate steps of like how you can capture the content and then how you can share the content , and how you can do that all in less than 30 seconds that was the goal .
Speaker 2Right so easy content capture to amplify your brand , to get more sales and brand awareness .
Speaker 1Got it .
Speaker 2So I'll walk you through how it works , right so ?
Speaker 2you're going to sign up . You're going to sign up and you're going to create a campaign . So when it comes to campaign , you're going to design your landing page . What questions do you have for your audience ? And this is when you have to be like super thoughtful , because you just don't want to say , hey , how did you like my brand today ? No , what . What does your prospective customers need to hear for for it to resonate ? And they want to come to your brand and buy from you or whatever , right ?
Speaker 2So get a very thoughtful prompt you can put on your landing page and then you choose how you want your video to look , and this is the videos that your customers will be creating for you . So you can choose a filter . You can add a music Maybe you're a music artist and you want fans to create content around your new album . And then the last step is data capture . Is there any data that you need to capture from your prospective customers , from your current customers , and how you can enrich that data in your CRM ? You can do that .
Speaker 2And then you're going to generate a URL . So you're going to say you're going to name it Film Story , right , it's going to generate a QR code or a link , so now you can send that link email campaigns , text campaigns . You can put the QR code up in your store , on your website , in your mailing boxes , and now you're giving your QR code up in your store , on your website , in your mailing boxes , and now you're giving your customers an easy opportunity to scan , to tap and then record . Look at the question and then record exactly what you want them to say , and then it syncs to you automatically . So now there's no back and forth of like , hey , can you do this ?
Speaker 1you got to edit this all those steps in between right right interesting so you , you develop a little bit of a profile so as as the business owner , as film story I would develop , I'll sign up whatever . I would develop a little bit of a profile that the goal is kind of to help whoever is wanting to share a view of film story to kind of get their thoughts in order . So you have questions there that would kind of help them begin thinking about pretty much what to share on camera , like what the experience was like or , yeah , if there's anything that stood out to you or you know , whatever it is you're going to give them a very thoughtful
Creating Systems For Testimonials
Speaker 1question .
Speaker 2I'm sorry , sorry , I didn't mean to interrupt you no , no , no , go ahead A question that you need them to answer right . Okay , Because you know what your prospective customers need to hear for it to come out Got it , got it , got it , got it .
Speaker 1Okay , so you're creating kind of the like I said , the question that pretty much targets your intended audience that would have the similar problem . That is why they came to you in the first place .
Speaker 2Okay .
Speaker 1So then you kind of create that platform and I've seen it , it doesn't take long at all , we're talking a few minutes tops kind of thing . You get that you're able to you said QR code it or send it via a link to a customer , someone that's user services or whatever . When they get that , they'll have kind of that information , the profile , whatever to see . You know , kind of give them some insight on how to get started and then from there they could directly record , share their response and then from there they could directly record , share their response and once they're finished , that video that they recorded gets sent directly to you as the business owner , me the business owner , and then I can use that and share online or take it and put it on the website or put it on a podcast episode or whatever it is .
Speaker 1Yeah , so that way it can be used as marketing , but authentic marketing from an actual customer that used your services , instead of me trying to say hey , we do great videos , come work with us .
Speaker 2You're amazing .
Speaker 1Yeah , yeah , yeah . We're amazing , right . Is that kind of the gist of how that works ?
Speaker 2You got it . You got it , and I think the key to what makes the platform great for our customers is that when they create the video , it's branded right , so there's nothing for you to do . You don't have to go and edit it .
Speaker 4You don't have to put your logo on it .
Speaker 2We can customize templates . All that's customizable .
Speaker 1So really , they're creating the content , you're getting it and you're sharing it . It's that simple . Wow , yeah , that's . That's interesting . Because what ? What if that became a part of a business's workflow where , at the end of every project , this is a part of the workflow , like this isn't ? Oh yeah , now that's done . Do you think you can ?
Speaker 1this is like from the beginning of the initial like for me , from the beginning of the actual inquiry process . When they're like so how does this work ? And we say , well , we have a three , three meeting process . At least we start out discovery , getting information , figuring out what you're looking for . We go deep dive into your customer , like all that , go through production , editing , and then at the end we'll send you a link and we'd love to get your response , get your thoughts , get your understanding on how the project went . And so now we're not trying to like send an email saying , hey , like you said , when you have time can you do this , or if you can leave this google review , which those are great , that's helpful for sure , but like you have like this built-in video for it . And now it's like system , it's systemized like it's automated .
Speaker 2I love that , I really like that a lot , and I think you you hit it right on the nail . I think that's where
Three Steps To Capture More Content
Speaker 2the power comes in . With any tool right , it's like you can have a tool , but it's you're only going to get as much of it as you put out , right . So you have to create a system so it works for you , so you don't have to think about it . It's not like an afterthought , it's like , ok , maybe in operations , when a project's done , they know they're getting an email with the link hey , let us know how we completed your project .
Speaker 2Send us in the video , We'll give you 10 percent off your next service . It needs to be something that drives them , but in a moment where you have them there and they're able to create it , and you know , at that time you know .
Speaker 1Yeah , awesome man , that's great . I'm I'm curious , you know , from your perspective , how , how has it been Like ? How's the response been to since , since its inception ? How are people liking it ? What kind of feedback are you getting , like I'm curious you know what it's .
Speaker 2It's been really good in terms of feedback , just because people like people talking about them and we're getting into that emotion right , like who doesn't like someone giving them a great video testimonial and that's that one point , but I think the second point is that the videos convert , as we know , is that people want to hear what people have to say , and I think a lot of entrepreneurs , a lot of small businesses , they know the power of people talking about them .
Speaker 2So that's why I think our platform works so well is because you're just tapping into that power easily by giving people a voice , right , and you're really allowing your customers become your best sales team , right . So that's kind of how we position is like let them do the talking . They're going to sell for you just because of their words , you know . So I think that our platform works in a lot of different spaces . We even work with , like , music artists for tours , right , just because fans are able to create authentic content around music . People love having their phones out wherever they go , so we're tapping into that emotion of that camera , right .
Speaker 3People love to see themselves .
Speaker 2They love to talk . So , let's give them a microphone and amplify it , but it's going to be branded , now you know .
Speaker 1Yeah , wow , very cool . Yeah , I really I like the concept and I can see easily how it fits into actually helping getting that perspective , that insight that you would have to fish a lot to get . Like I I don't know how many , how many customers I've worked with and afterwards I try to email and say , hey , do you mind doing this ? And for some of them , for a lot of them , we've gotten some good reviews , like google . But when it comes to doing like hey , do you mind filming your response on like you know how difficult that is to like say hey , while your life is lifing , do you mind pulling out your phone and doing a quick review of what it was like working with me and sending it back . Like I think we've . We've filmed weddings for like five , six years and I think we were able to get like three couples like film their reactions and send it to us . It's just tough to do you know what ?
Speaker 2it is tough , but there's things you can do to not make it as tough as it is , because every brand goes through this right . They want to ask people about testimonials , but they're not putting things in place to actually get them . So I always tell people number one reach out to your brand advocates . So these are people that have already said oh my gosh , damien , you're amazing , I would love to hire you again I'm going to share with my friends .
Speaker 2You know they're your brand advocates , so they're in a warm box , right , You're like okay , I can reach out to them . Number two is incentivize . They're taking the time to create this content for you . What can you give them in return that drives them to want to create the content ? Whether that's a referral affiliate , whether that's 10% off your next service , whether that's a free photo shoot , whatever right . How can we drive them to want to do it ? Because now you're showing how thankful you are for them taking the time .
Speaker 2And number three is always follow up , right . If they don't , if you digital brand advocates , if you incentivize and they're still not responding , people's life is lifing . Sometimes it just slips their mind , right ? So just follow up with them properly . You know , like , hey , we were sending this out . Let me know if you can do this and we'll give you a free photo shoot or something like that . But I would say those are the three steps on how to capture more content when you're reaching out to people .
Speaker 1That's dope , thank you . I saw I was taking notes while you were speaking . I was like , hey , you remember that ? Um , for some of that , because it's it helps . It helps to get that reminder and helps to be able to reach out to people that you're already connected with , which is exactly why I'm saying it's .
Speaker 1It's such a necessity to get that feedback because , like the , the world of video can take you everywhere and 10 years in , you end up a mile wide but an inch deep , kind of thing , and it's . It's tough when you're still trying to figure out where you stand right and a lot of the times , especially if you don't have the mentality of keeping track of like oh yeah .
Speaker 1I really enjoyed working with this kind of client . Yeah , this one was great , but not really what I was looking for . And you can't quite pinpoint it because you need that perspective from someone else to say we came in with this problem and you literally helped us with this . It's hard to see it because you miss it , because it's just not like it's .
Speaker 1Yeah , so I think it's really cool , this whole like ugc . For me it's , it's refreshing , but it also , I believe , raises the bar to like , like I was just saying earlier , like not trying to just create another ad , but like actual , authentic content of people that actually went through using . You know your services . So , I think it's really cool .
Speaker 2Thank you , and you know what I think it takes the brand to realize . Like you said , what do I want Like as a brand ? If you don't realize where you stand in the market , how you're really solving a pain point , your content is going to be as confusing because you don't even understand it right . So I think when you understand it . That's when you're able to capture the content you need , because you're very clear on how you're solving a pain point in your market . You know .
Speaker 1Yeah , awesome . Well , we're here with .
Speaker 4Chyna Morgan , we're talking about UGC . I'm going to take a quick break and we will be right back . Thank you guys for tuning in . We appreciate it .
Speaker 4All of these things continuously right , but there has
Changing The Game With Video Responses
Speaker 4to be a way to streamline that process . There has to be a way to make sure that whatever you're posting , you're connecting with your audience for sure and it's targeted , it's not just random throwing it out hoping it lands right . There has to be a process to this and that's what Video Blueprint is all about . I want to streamline the process , I want to help you make sure that you're connecting with your intended audience and I want to remove the distractions and make sure that when you leave this in-person workshop , you have a clear plan on how you want to go forth and creating your social media video content for your business . That is it . We'll teach you the filming , not using camera , using your phone . We'll teach you the editing . We'll teach you storage and organization . Click the link below , let's sign up , and I'll stop freezing myself off trying to create this video for you . Okay , bye-bye .
Speaker 3Vidlovideo . What can I say as a speaker ? So , if you don't know yet , viblovideo is where you need to go . Don't walk run . What are you doing ? Do it now .
