Week 8: Micah's vision of Love and Mercy
Why do people buy flowers? Dr. Reimer explains the nature of the Hebrews' sacrifice in the temple. Giving a gift or sacrificial animal to God can become transactional, especially for those with power and means, but Micah 6 reminds us that God wants us to worship him through the image (or idol) God has chosen: other human beings. Dr. Reimer concludes: "Stop bringing flowers; start doing the right thing... the images of God will be in your life all week, waiting for you to pass on God's love and mercy."
