Pedaling Beyond Limits: Expanding to the Size of Your Dreams on Life's Oversized Bike
Remember that oversized bike from childhood that seemed impossible to ride? That's where we start this episode, with nostalgia and a metaphor for growth that will have you rethinking your limits and sizing up your dreams. I dive into personal tales and lessons about embracing opportunities that seem just out of reach, because sometimes, even the loftiest goals are tailor-made for our potential. This isn't about shrinking down to fit the world; it's about expanding to the size of your aspirations.
Join me on a vibrant journey to the land of Mike Believe, where the only thing more vivid than dreams is the courage to chase them. There are no 'little old me' moments in this conversation as I share anecdotes of overcoming fear and self-doubt to seize the big moments that are meant for you. It's a solo ride this time, no guests – just you and me, and an invitation to pedal through life with the urgency and passion of a story that's as grand as you're willing to write it. Let's celebrate the perfect imperfections and the unique paths that only we can tread, becoming the heroes of our own epic tales.
Hello, it's me, the MNI, the K to the E, hailing from the D, the Y to the T that's the abbreviation for the city called Dayton and I'm sending you good sensations and vibrations. And remember, I'm just saying I want to talk to you from the subject today of think big, think big. I remember when my dad had given me a bike when I was little. It was a full size bike. I was just about maybe five, six years old and the bike was again full size, a full size bike with training wheels on it. Never did my dad ever try to shrink the bike down to match my size or say, well, maybe this bike is too big for him. My dad must have saw something that I didn't see to think that I would grow into the bike and to think that I would adapt and adjust and would not need to shrink down or play small or do anything, play anything safely with that bike. As a matter of fact, when I say play safely, it's funny because you know, I got my bumps, my bruises, I went through my ups, downs, my turn arounds, my roundabouts and in between and this was a while back you know the golden era, probably the 80s, not probably, but the 80s, when you know helmets weren't exactly. You know the thing to do and I'm just thankful that I'm here right now.
Speaker 1:No, that was a bad joke, but anyway, a lot of times you may be thinking that you don't belong somewhere or the event, the thing, the gift or whatever the case may be is a little bit too big for you. But I'm telling you, it's not. The thing is is what you're going to grow into, be and who are you going to become is way more bigger than you could ever imagine or you could ever fathom. And while you're sitting there saying, oh, this is too much, the other person is saying and that could be a relationship that's romantic, it could be a relationship that's occupational, it could be a relationship that's a sports team, whatever it is, it could be a music goal that you have and they're like, wow, here they are, they're not too small for this, they are just enough. It's a God and you size gap or hole that needs to be fixed. That God and you are going to feel with you. And just remember to always think big, because you never know what is coming up.
Speaker 1:And I rode that bike until I got too big for the bike. And that was funny because the years flew by and it would seem that I would. It would be a long time before I actually grew into the bike and I remember what fun I had and all the rides through the neighborhood and, again, the occasional dog that was chasing me, but I was having a good time on that bike. That bike was a wonderful childhood memory. So just remember the thing that you did.
Speaker 1:And sometimes you just need to sit back for a second and say, hey, I remember I didn't think I was good enough to get past this and I never knew how I would make it. And I've heard an old gospel hymn saying or a reference saying when I make it there, my soul is going to look back and wonder how I got over. And I'm pretty sure you were saying to yourself and asking the question how I got over, because that opportunity, that job, that thing was just way too big for me to do it and I just can't believe they would pick me. And there's no, oh little, oh me. No, it's you, that's exactly enough.
Speaker 1:You may not be perfect, but you're the perfect person for that particular job and this job calls for you. We've checked the Justice League, we've checked everybody and their books. So now it's time for you to do what you need to do. Spin around, click your bracelets or go to that telephone booth and do what you need to do. You have once again come into the land of Mike Believe, a place that makes Emerald City look like a pile of green rocks never, never landwished, that had never existed, and wonder land, wonder why it existed and was created in the very first place. And I encourage you to dream like you'll live forever, but live like you'll die. Today I quit.
