Speaker 1:

Hey friends, welcome to the Ones who Dared podcast, where stories of courage are elevated. I'm your host, vekka, and every other week you'll hear interviews from inspiring people. My hope is that you will leave encouraged. I'm so glad you're here. Welcome to the Ones Are podcast. I'm your host, vekka, and today it's a solo episode of something I really wanted to talk about in honor of Women's History Month.

Speaker 1:

When I think about Women's History Month, I think of all the courageous women that we know about that have made impact in history, and we often admire them for their brave acts. But before we name all the well-known women who made history, I like to highlight a different kind of courage, one that I believe goes unnoticed. Yes, the women whose achievements changed the world are remembered by name, and rightfully so. But I believe that for each historically recognized woman, there are countless others whose name we'll never see in the top of the list. Yet I believe these underrated women are truly making history.

Speaker 1:

It is the woman who quietly shows up for a friend who just had a miscarriage. It's the one who sits with a neighbor in tears, listening to her greatest fears and insecurity. It's the woman who picks up the phone to hear the same story over and over again from her friend in troubled marriage. It's the woman who sees the struggling student in their classroom and speaks the good that they see in them, even when everyone else sees them as only a bully or troubled kid. But they see deeper. It's the single mom who's working two jobs after leaving an abusive relationship, determined to provide for her children and carve a better future. It's the woman doing her best to break generational cycles, even when it hurts like hell, wondering if she'll ever overcome what those before her could not. It's the woman who keeps seeing the best in people, even after being hurt time and time again. It's the friend who sits with a cancer patient, letting them know that they won't face this alone. It's the friend who sits with a cancer patient, letting them know that they won't face this alone.

Speaker 1:

It's the wife who shows up for a marriage day after day, even when all hope seems out of reach. It's the woman who serves her employees like family, wanting the best for them. It's the woman who's committed to taking care of a child with disabilities, even perhaps when other people have given up. It's the woman who believes that the best is yet to come, letting her faith carry her through yet another day. It's the woman who struggles with addiction, trying to cope with her traumatic past, doing the best she can with the tools that she has now. It's the woman who prays on her knees for child making poor choices, believing this won't always be the reality. It's the woman who has audacious faith and believes that even the smallest acts of her kindness can change a life. It's the one who loves those around her with everything she's got, even if she can't afford therapy or doesn't have all the tools. It's for the woman who isn't trying to make history, but who's simply doing her best day in and day out.

Speaker 1:

These women are silent superheroes. If you're listening to this today and you're a woman, hear me say this you are valuable, you're an important woman and you're worthy of love. You are making history, whether you realize it or not. Every time you choose to do the right thing, you're creating a ripple effect into eternity, impacting more lives than you can imagine, no matter how small the act.

Speaker 1:

While I'm grateful for the famous names, like Harriet Tubman, mother Teresa, florence Nightingale and so many others, I also want to recognize the women who are all around us, making history in ways they may never know, and I want to remind you that you are a gift to those around us, making history in ways they may never know. And I want to remind you that you are a gift to those around you, so never underestimate your power, influence you bring by just being present. The world is a better place because of you, and so today I celebrate you, the incredible, courageous woman that you are, just the way you are, doing the best that you can, day in and day out. You are a woman of impact. You are a woman of history. I hope you know how valuable you are today.
