The story starts with loyalty and ends with liberation. We meet a woman who poured a decade into a company that chipped away at her spirit, then weathered a sale, verbal abuse, and a string of rejections that made an old lie feel true: you’re not good enough. Instead of pushing harder, we paused to ask a better question—what if this isn’t weakness but a wound being poked? That shift changed everything.

I walk through how we anchored the reset in Isaiah 43, stopped dwelling on the former things, and rebuilt confidence on evidence, not empty hype. We listed her real wins—overcoming dyslexia, persevering through licensing exams, finding updated study materials when leadership failed her—and used them to retell her story with clarity and strength. From there we prepared for the door we believed would open: we rewrote her resume for the future she wanted, practiced interviews, and prayed like a new thing had already begun. When a contact finally put her application in front of the right leaders, momentum built fast: first interview, second interview, then an offer that paid more than she expected.

Along the way, we reframe promotion with Psalms 75: advancement isn’t primarily political; God positions and exalts. Sometimes the bravest move is leaving a harmful environment, not enduring it. I share practical tools you can use today—how to gather your paper trail of achievements, stop disappointment from erasing your evidence, and ask sharper questions: Are you truly stuck, or are you sitting in a place that keeps triggering an old lie? Is this about your ability, or about what rejection convinced you to believe?

If your heart needs a midweek reset, this conversation blends Scripture, strategy, and real-life proof that preparation and faith can turn long seasons of “no” into a well-timed yes. Subscribe, share this with an amiga who needs it, and leave a review to help more women rebuild confidence and step into the work God already sees in them.

A Client’s Story Of Stuckness

SPEAKER_00

I was recently working with a client. 10 years at the same company, 10 years of loyalty, 10 years of hoping for growth, 10 years of believing if I just stay faithful, it'll get better. But it didn't. She felt stuck, undervalued, used. She even started doing less, not because she didn't care, but because she hated the part of her job that drained her. Sales. Then the company was sold. She thought, maybe this is the breakthrough. But it got worse. New leadership, verbal abuse, unrealistic expectations, more pressure, less care. And after years of applying elsewhere and getting rejected again and again, disappointment didn't just sit on her, it settled in her. And she started getting sick. Depression rose, and the old lie resurfaced. You're not good enough. Amiga, this wasn't just about a job. This was about a wound. Okay, amiga, let's talk. There comes a moment when growth calls you higher and you're trying to figure it out all by yourself. You're evolving, you're questioning, you're rebuilding. And maybe you're wondering, what's that? Girls, I'm so glad you're here. Welcome to Extreme Rebrand, a Mommy on the Mission podcast, a space for women ready to heal, rebuild, and walk confidently in their God-given purpose. If you're ready for your next level, then I'm your girl. I'm Mariana, founder of Mommy on the Mission and creator of the Empower Her program. And I'm ready to meet you right where you are. So pour your cafecito and sit with me for a while. This is your cafecito hour. Welcome back to the Extreme Rebrand, a Mommy on a Mission podcast. This is your midweek reset, your space to recalibrate, realign, and remember who you are in Christ. And today we're talking about rebuilding confidence after disappointment, especially when disappointment reopens old lies. So let's anchor this in the word, because that's what we do here, right? We're going to talk about or we're going to read out of Isaiah 43, 18 to 19, that says, Forget the former things, do not dwell on the past. See, I'm doing a new thing. Now it springs. Do you not perceive it? And this is where we begin. So as we unpacked her story, something became clear. And that tone, it felt familiar because she grew up with an abusive parent. Her workplace wasn't just stressful, it was triggering. And sometimes, Amiga, your reaction isn't weakness, it's a wound being poked. This wasn't about her being incapable, it was about her nervous system recognizing something unsafe. And once we name that, everything shifted because now we weren't fixing performance, we were healing a belief. So she had told me, I don't think I have more to offer. But let's look at the facts. This is a woman who overcame dyslexia, stayed committed for 10 years, took that property and casualty licensing exams multiple times. And what she discovered was that the material that she was studying for those tests was outdated. Her boss never gave her an updated copy. So she had to go out and look for it. And once she did, she adjusted to the new material. And this woman never quit. I don't know about you, but that's not failure. That's resilience. But disappointment had erased her evidence, and that's what happens, right? When we are in the middle of all of that, that's all that negativity that's going on, what starts to happen is that disappointment will begin to erase those very things that you were able to accomplish, those things that you were able to build, those things about you that was able to flourish at one time, right? And so when you're stuck in a place that all it does is extend negativity, your disappointment, yeah, it'll erase it. And then you start going down that spiral cycle, right? And because we listed accomplishments, we helped her see the obstacles that she was able to overcome, the proof of commitment, because confidence isn't hype, it's documented truth. You have already left a paper trail just like she did. She had already left a paper trail of her accomplishments because people knew what she was able to accomplish. And this is where Isaiah 43 comes back in. God says, Do not dwell on the former things, why? Because dwelling distorts perception. She couldn't perceive the new thing because she was filtering everything through old rejection, old no's, old trauma, old not good enough. And once we uprooted the lie, she began to see things a lot more clear. So there was a company that she applied to for years. I mean, talking years and years and years. And I'm very familiar with this company. And yes, it is hard to get in the door. And it goes with that old saying, you know, it's not what you know, it's who you know. And the same thing applied here in this particular case. And even though she had known people that worked there, it was still a matter of getting to the right person in order for you to get your foot in the door, right? And so, anyways, every time she applied, rejected every time. But this time, girl, God aligned it differently. When you allow for God to be your source, oh my God, it's it's like my shirt says, but God, because God will open doors for you when it's the right time. And that's that's such a good reminder for a lot of us that says that it's never on our time, it's on his time, and his time is always perfect. So, someone, like I said, someone she knew worked there and agreed to place her resume directly in front of leadership. But here's the key: her resume was outdated. So before the opportunity came, we prepared. We rewrote it, we strengthened it, we practiced interviews, we we prayed over it. She prepared like Isaiah 43 was true, and like God was actually going to do a new thing because, in all reality, He did, right? She got that first interview, she was so excited, she couldn't wait to tell me. And then she got that second interview call, and she was like, Oh my gosh! And then she got that offer letter, and the part that still gives me chills is that she was afraid it would be less, and it turned out to be more, and so she was she called me to say, Thank you so much for everything that you did. And I said, Girl, wait a minute. All I did was have you see what you already knew. What I did was just give you the tools, revamp, help revamp your tools so that you can go in there prepared. But we had to build her confidence, right? She did all the hard work, she's the one that went on the interview, she's the one that applied, she's the one that went on those interviews, and she's the one that was able to showcase herself, right? She was able to go in there confidently and speak about the things that she already in her knew. So, and yes, I did say you're welcome, you know, but I wanted her to understand that you put in the work, you did that, right? And so, yeah, she was so excited because this means more pay. And I do believe in my heart it's gonna be more respect because I know this company, I've seen this company, and so many people have had nothing but good things to say about this company. Perhaps there's gonna be more alignment. The place that kept saying no became the place that said yes. And I mean, let me tell you, sometimes I have to keep reminding myself of those things, okay? Because even though I am a coach and I am a cheerleader for so many, I sometimes need a cheerleader, right? So I have coaches myself who help coach me in my business. Because sometimes when you don't see the results that you want to get, or you don't see changes that you hope would happen be made, it that disappointment is a killer. I mean, that disappointment will have you think in all kinds of other things, right? But that play again, because she stopped believing she wasn't worthy of it, it things started to change. And let me give you one more scripture to anchor this. Psalms chapter 75, verses six and seven says, For promotion does not come from the east or the west, but God, there it is, but God is the judge, He puts down one and exalts another. You see, promotion isn't political, and for her, this was a promotion. See, sometimes we think that promotion happens, has to happen within the position we're in currently, and sometimes what it takes is to make a bold move and make the change in order to see promotion. A lot of times people will see going from one job to another as job hopping, but sometimes you have to see ways to promote yourself by stepping out, right? But it all starts with anchoring your truth in God's word. So I'll let me ask you this do you feel that you're truly stuck, or are you sitting in an environment that keeps triggering an old lie? Or how about is this about your capability? Or about what disappointment convinced you to believe? Because sometimes the breakthrough isn't a new job first, it's a renewed mind. Let's pray. Father, for the amiga listening who feels worn down by rejection and disappointment, heal the lie underneath the stress. Remind her of the evidence of her resilience. Help her forget the former things that no longer define her. Open her eyes to the new thing you are doing and give her courage to prepare for what she has been praying for. She is not overlooked, she is not behind, she is being positioned in Jesus' name. Amen. I mean, at this episode spoke directly to where you are. Don't ignore that. You may not need to quit tomorrow, but you might need to rebuild your confidence today.
