Something feels off, but nothing is “wrong” and that’s exactly the clue. When your conversations stop inspiring you, your environment starts draining you, and old goals don’t fit anymore, you may not be confused at all. You may be stepping into a personal rebrand season, the kind of internal identity shift God uses to prepare you for what’s next.

We talk through what a personal rebrand actually means from a faith-based perspective: not pretending, not creating a new image, but aligning your identity, decisions, and direction with who God is calling you to be right now. Using powerful Bible examples, we connect the dots between spiritual growth and real life. Abraham receives a new name before the promise shows up. Peter gets called “rock” before he acts like one. Paul’s past isn’t erased, it’s repurposed. Jacob wrestles into transformation, Esther steps into purpose, and Moses gets called back to an assignment he thought he was disqualified from.

We also make it practical with Romans 12:2 and the renewing of your mind, plus signs to watch for in the workplace, friendships, boundaries, and leadership. If you’ve been feeling the quiet shift, this is your midweek reset and a reminder that God often shifts identity before impact. Subscribe, share this with an amiga who needs it, and leave a review so more women can find the encouragement.

When Life No Longer Fits

SPEAKER_01

Have you ever looked at your life, your job, your conversations, your environment, and thought to yourself, something about this no longer fits me. Not because it's bad, not because anyone did anything wrong, but because the version of you that built this life is no longer the version of you God is shaping now. That tension you feel sometimes, that quiet discomfort, that sense that something needs to shift, that might not be confusion. That might be a personal rebrand. And today we're going to talk about what that actually means and how do you know if that's what you need now? Okay, now we got some of the people. So grab your cafecito, maybe your lunch, and if you can, grab a notebook because this conversation might reveal something important about the season you're in. So a personal rebrand is not about pretending to be someone you're not. It's not about creating a fake image or reinventing yourself for the world. A personal rebrand is about aligning your identity, your decisions, and your direction with who God is actually calling you to be in this season of your life. And sometimes that version of you that helped you survive one season is not the version of you that will help you lead in the next. And when that shift begins happening internally, your external world begins to feel different. So, for instance, you might notice things like conversations that no longer interest you, environments that once energized you, now drain you, goals that begin to change, and then habits that suddenly feel out of alignment. And many women interpret these feelings as confusion. But often it's the beginning of transformation, it's the beginning of change. So I want you to write this down because we're going to be taking a lot of notes today, okay? But I want you to ask yourself do I feel like parts of my life no longer align with who I am becoming? Because the first thing we want to do is develop awareness, right? Because awareness is often the first signal that a personal rebrand season is beginning. And one thing I love about scripture is that God always guided people through identity transformation. Okay, so if you're asking, well, is personal rebrand a new concept? Actually, it's not. It's not, it's a different name, maybe for modern times, but it's actually about identity transformation. Okay, and so we're gonna look at a few examples from the Bible, all right? So we're gonna first talk about Abram, who became Abraham. Okay, so Genesis 17, 5 says, No longer will you be called Abram, your name will be Abraham. And Abram was already faithful, but God was preparing him for something bigger. Abram meant exalted father, Abraham meant father of many nations, and so when God gave Abraham this new name, nothing about his circumstances had changed yet. He still didn't have the promised son because remember, you know, God had told him that he was gonna be a father, and both him and Sarah, who also became Sarah, uh Sarai, who became Sarah, you know, they were like, We're old. Like, how am I gonna have a son at my old age, right? So there was no visible evidence of the future God spoke over him, right? Yet God changed his identity first, because you cannot walk into your future while still identifying with your past. I'm gonna say that again. You cannot walk into your future while still identifying with your past, and so before God expanded Abraham's territory, he expanded Abraham's identity. So God often changes identity before circumstances. Now let's take a look at Simon. Simon eventually became Peter. Matthew 16, 18 says, You are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church. So Simon was a fisherman, he wasn't a scholar, and he was not a religious leader, but Jesus saw something deeper. So therefore, he called him Peter, which means rock. And the interesting thing is Peter didn't immediately act like a rock. He doubted, he struggled, he even denied Jesus. Remember, he denied Jesus three times. Yet Jesus spoke to who Peter would become. And God often calls out the leader in us before we see it ourselves. Yeah, that one right there, like it. I was like, yeah, that that sounds all too familiar to me. It does. And then, of course, I've mentioned this character before because he's one of my favorites, right? And that's Saul, who became Paul. In Acts 9, Saul persecuted Christians, but after encountering Jesus on the road to Damascus, everything changed. His direction changed, his mission changed, his identity changed, and the same passion Saul once used to persecute believers became the passion Paul used to spread the gospel. Isn't that amazing? Like, this is a man who was out there persecuting Christians, who was out there, you know, putting them in jail or killing them. And he had this like passion, like of no other, like he was this man of authority, right? And he was going to put an end to it. And yet, once he has this encounter with Jesus, that passion turned around to spread the gospel. So God didn't erase his past, God repurposed it. A personal rebrand does not erase your past, it repurposes it. And we see that a lot, right? Like we we all still have things that we are passionate about. There's still things that excite us, you know. But what we do is we we redirect that passion into something else, right? It doesn't change who we are, it doesn't change those passions, it doesn't change how we come to things, but what he does is that he uses it in a different way. And I just love that. I love that because it's not about changing anything or erasing anything, but it's about using what we already have for something good or something better. Another person that we see in Genesis is Jacob, who becomes Israel, right? And Genesis 32, 28. So I'm dropping a lot of scripture for you all today, okay? So I want you to go back and reference those scriptures. So Genesis 32, 28, Jacob's name meant deceiver. And much of his early life reflected that identity. But after wrestling with God through the night, his name changed and he became Israel, one who wrestles with God and prevails. Some personal rebrands happen through struggle, and those wrestling seasons often produce the deepest transformation. Wow. I know for myself, I can recall those moments where I was just like really struggling with who I was. You know, before I came to truly accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior, there were so many things that I felt like I was confused about. I couldn't understand. I was just walking around, like wondering, okay, you know, why am I the way that I am? Like in the middle of the night, truly, just wrestling, just struggling, right? Waking up in the middle of the night, just asking deep questions. And and what I realized now looking back is that God was really working in me to change my way of thinking, to change certain things about myself, right? And you know, I couldn't understand it at first, but then it all made sense later. And then now, as I become a personal rebrand strategist, I see that a lot in people when I talk to them. It's like they're wrestling, they're struggling with something, right? And I tell them that you're struggling because you're transforming, you're you're changing something about yourself, right? And then they're like, I didn't even think about that, you know. One of my other favorite characters in the Bible is Esther, Queen Esther, Esther 414. And this one is one of my favorite scriptures just because of the end of that, right? And it says, and who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this. Esther wasn't born into royalty, but she was placed in the palace, and when the moment came, she had to step into the role she had been positioned for. And her personal rebrand happened when she recognized her purpose, right? When she recognized her purpose, and let me just say this you know, purpose for many of us, we all are born with a purpose. God already had a purpose for each and every one of us, right? And it's similar, but it looks quite different for everybody else. But the true purpose for everyone is to go out and speak about God's word or speak about who God is and what He has done and bring people to Christ, right? And to help the people be delivered from the evilness of this world, and that's what Queen Esther did. She used everything that she knew to use for a purpose, and that purpose was to help her people, the people of God. And now we have Moses, leader of Israel. And we see a lot of Moses' story in Exodus, and as a matter of fact, right now, if you're in the Bible study with us, we have Bible study every Sunday at 5:30 Central Standard Time, and we're following the Bible recap. And right now we're actually sitting with actually, we were already we finished Exodus, we did numbers, now we're in Deuteronomy, but we explored that whole walk with Moses, right? Because Moses once lived in a palace, but if we remember, Moses is not a royalty, right? Pharaoh was out there killing all the male babies, and his mother wove a basket together and placed him in this basket and put him in the river. And Pharaoh's sister finds Moses and adopts him as her son. But after fleeing Egypt, so Moses ended up fleeing Egypt because he had killed someone and someone saw him, and he spent 40 years as a shepherd. And by the time God appeared in the burning bush, Moses no longer saw himself as a leader because of the things that he had done, he saw himself as someone who had failed, but God called him to lead a nation. Once again, we see that where God repurposed him. Because although he wasn't born in leadership, he became a leader because he was found and he was taught to be a leader. And then when things happened and he ran away, he felt like, who am I now? But all along, he was still this leader, he was still this person, right? And so God called him to lead a nation. And sometimes personal rebrand begins when God calls you back into an assignment you thought you were disqualified from. I don't know about y'all, but let me tell y'all something. There have been many things that I felt like I was just not fit to do certain things. But every time I turn around, God is always bringing me right back into that very thing that I don't want to do because I'm a very stubborn person, y'all. And I know I'm probably speaking to somebody, right? I know one of some of you are in here listening and you're like, oh, I'm stubborn too. But I am, I'm a stubborn person because I still have some doubt about who God is calling me to be. But he's always gonna call you back, he's always gonna call you back into an assignment that you think you're disqualified for. And and I'm here to tell you when God calls you back, start listening, start listening and start doing. So, why does transformation begin with renewal? Romans 12, 2. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. So you may ask, why does transformation begin with renewal? Why not behavior? Why not discipline? Well, because transformation begins with belief. Your mind is where identity is formed, it's where your beliefs live, and those beliefs influence everything. If your thinking stays the same, your life usually stays the same, right? We see that in people. We see how people, their their mind, they still think the same way or whatever, and they haven't even moved. They're still in the same position. Like, you're like, didn't you already outgrow high school? Like, what are we doing here, right? But when your thinking changes, your identity begins to shift. And when identity shifts, your life begins to move in a new direction. And Romans 12:2 actually outlines the process of a personal rebrand. So if you're taking notes, I want you to write these steps down. Okay, step one, do not conform, recognize patterns that no longer align. Okay, step two, be transformed, allow internal change, don't fight it, allow for it to happen, and then step three, renew your mind, replace old beliefs with truth. When identity shifts, direction follows. That's powerful because when you start to shift, your identity starts to shift, your way of thinking starts to shift, things start to follow behind because you're positioning yourself, you're aligning yourself. So is there a pattern in your life that God might be asking you to stop conforming to? All right, so let's bring this all together in everyday life, okay? Because we've been talking about characters in the Bible, and you're probably saying, okay, how does this happen for us? You know, how does it happen in our lives too? All right, well, let's take the workplace for instance. Maybe you've been in your career for years, but suddenly the conversations around you feel different. Office gossip feels uncomfortable, goals that once excited you don't inspire you anymore. Sometimes that feeling isn't dissatisfaction, sometimes it's growth. Okay. What about with friendships? Sometimes rebrand shows up in relationships. You still love people, but the conversations shift. Negativity no longer feels normal. Your priorities change, your boundaries change, right? Sometimes the things that they do or you used to do no longer feel the same anymore. Like it's just like, ugh. You know, I always go back to like, you know, when you're in your 20s and and in your early 20s, and you have these friends, and all they're doing is going, you know, you go out to the club and you're having fun and all these things. But as you get older, you start your your mind starts to think differently, right? You're settling into careers, you're probably starting families and stuff. But then yet you still have those people that are still out there doing the club thing and they're in their 30s or probably in their 40s. I know people that are still doing that, and it's like, yeah, I ain't tired. Like it's nine o'clock, I'm ready to go to bed. Maybe that's just me. I don't know. But it does, right? It changes. What about leadership? Maybe people keep encouraging you to lead, to mentor, or to step into something bigger. But internally, you still see yourself as a person you used to be, just like Peter. God may already see the leader you're becoming. And this one right here is the one that I struggled with a lot. Because I would have people tell me all the time, Mariana, you're just you're a leader. You're a leader, you're a leader. And I'm like, no, no, I just like to encourage people, you know, I don't mind helping people. Like, I would always say, No, I'm good at training people, but no. And once I started to accept leadership, I did start become mentoring, you know, a mentor. I started mentoring young adults to become writers. I start stepping into other areas in my life, like speaking engagements and facilitating and putting myself out there. I'm on the board of the Hispanic Business Network of Galveston County. Like I'm putting myself in these positions, right? Because if God's already seeing that in me, then why am I fighting it? What is all that's doing is causing me to wrestle with what he's trying to do for me and with me, right? So sometimes we experience quiet internal shifts. Sometimes nothing dramatic happens, but you just begin asking deeper questions. You want to grow spiritually, so you begin evaluating how you spend your time. And that quiet shift is often the beginning of transformation. So here we go again. Note-taking moments. These may be signs you may be in a personal rebrand season. You may be in a personal rebrand season if your environment feels misaligned. If values are shifting, if conversations are changing, your leadership is stretching, or your priorities are evolving. And here's something many women, or maybe even you, Amiga, experience that not everyone understands the change. Because who they met was the old version of you. But God is introducing the world to the new version of you. And some people will have a problem with that because they don't want to see you be different. They want to see you stay the same. And although you are the same person, how you walk, how you talk, how you move, how you address certain things are no longer the same as before. Because God is evolving you into someone completely new, right? And 2 Corinthians 5:17 says this. It says, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come. So think about every person we talked about today. Abraham believed before the promise arrived. Peter grew into the leader Jesus called him to be. Paul redirected his passion. Jacob wrestled through transformation. Esther stepped into purpose. Moses answered a calling he felt unqualified for. Different stories, different paths, but the same principle. God shifts identity before impact. And when that begins happening in your life, you, amiga, may be stepping into a personal rebrand season. So I like to use this analogy. Think about a butterfly. Before it becomes something beautiful and free, it enters a cocoon. And inside that cocoon, transformation happens that no one can see. And when the butterfly emerges, it's no longer the same creature. In many ways, personal rebrand is similar. There are seasons where God is transforming you internally. And even though others may not see the change yet, He's preparing you for the next stage of your purpose. I just think that's a beautiful analogy. And many times people think a personal rebrand has to do with fashion and makeup and all that stuff, but it's not. A personal rebrand happens inside of us that will eventually show up in the external side of you. So, Amiga, if today's conversation resonated with you, share this episode with another muhe navigating her own season of growth. And if you feel like you may be in a personal rebrand season, take the personal rebrand quiz. It's in the link in the show notes. I mean, the link is in the show notes, or the link can also be found in my bio if you're following me on Instagram. So let me go ahead and pray for us. Lord, thank you for every woman listening today. Help us release identities that no longer align with your purpose. Give us courage to step into who you are calling us to become. And show us, Lord, the direction in which you want us to go into. In those areas of our lives, Father God, where we may feel unqualified. God, you already qualified us for those new uh positions, new assignments. You've already given us the identity that we need to have. You're slowly starting to help us renew our minds, Father God, into what you're calling us to do.

SPEAKER_00

And so, Father, we just ask to be obedient to that call. In Jesus' name. Amen.

SPEAKER_01
