The Personal Rebrand Method: What It Is and What It Isn’t

That nagging discomfort you can’t quite explain might not be a red flag about you. It might be proof you’ve grown and parts of your life are still tied to an older version of yourself. I share what shifted for me during a recent break and why Romans 12:2 sits at the center of the personal rebrand method: real transformation starts with renewing your mind, not upgrading your image. We talk about why a woman’s life can’t be separated into “personal” and “professional” boxes, and how internal beliefs quietly shape your boundaries, relationships, leadership, confidence, communication, and decisions.

Then I lay out the personal rebrand method as a 12-week, scripture-centered coaching journey for the whole woman. You’ll hear what it is and what it is not (not a makeover, not marketing, not therapy, and not just positive thinking), plus the four phases that guide the process: Shed, Renew, Build, and Live. When Discomfort Signals Growth

And I cannot think of a better way to return than by talking about the work that has become the heartbeat of this next season for me, the personal rebrand method. So here we go, your midweek reset.

The Break That Brought Clarity

All right. So before we get into it, let me catch you up on some things. Okay. So I took a break for the month of July to be able to spend some time with my family. My husband and I celebrated 18 years of marriage. I completed another major step in the process of bringing my second book, The Journey Back into the World. And I am so excited for that to come out. And I also had the privilege of mentoring young writers through the Young Writers Scholarship Program from the Book Publishing Academy, myself and the founder of the Book Publishing Academy, Janine. We have been mentoring some young writers, and it has been amazing to see them just flourish and start feeling that confidence in their writing. And so this break gave me room to breathe, to create, pray, and also pay attention. So I did step away from the microphone, but I did not step away from the work God placed in my hands. In fact, I began looking at that work more closely. I kept asking myself, am I explaining the personal rebrand method clearly? Does the structure reflect what I truly believe about transformation? Does it support the whole woman? Or am I unintentionally separating parts of her life that were never meant to be disconnected? So those questions led me back to the drawing board, right? Because just like us in life, right? There we try something. If it doesn't work, you go back and you revamp it and then you try it again. Well, the same thing here. So, and it wasn't because the original vision was wrong, but because the vision had matured. I understood it more deeply. The program became more focused. The journey became more complete. And I knew that when I returned, I needed to reintroduce it from that clear place. So there's a line in the journey back that says, God wasn't wasting any of it. He was preparing me for the woman he was creating me to become. And that is what this break became for me. It was not wasted time, it was preparation. And maybe that is what this season has been for you too.

Romans 12:2 And True Change

So a scripture that came to mind as all of this was unfolding was Romans 12, 2. And it says, Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is, his good, pleasing, and perfect will. And I want you to notice where transformation begins. Okay. It doesn't begin with your appearance, it doesn't begin with a new title or a new outfit, a new social media profile, or a perfectly organized vision board, right? It begins with renewal. God changes the way you see before he changes the way you move. Hmm. So what he does is he confronts the beliefs, the labels, the fears and patterns influencing your decision. Okay. Then as your thinking becomes rooted in truth, your choices begin to reflect that truth. And that is the foundation of the personal rebrand method. It's about internal transformation that should eventually become visible in a way you live. But we don't begin with the outside. We begin with truth. Okay. So some of you may remember that I previously talked about three types of personal rebrands: personal, professional, and whole woman. Or there were three different ones. It was empower her, evolve her, and elevate her, right? And so there was a quiz that I had created to help women identify which type they might need. But as I continued developing the method, I realized something. A woman's life does not fit neatly into separate boxes. You don't leave your confidence at home when you walk into a meeting. You don't leave your career stress at the office when you sit down with your family. I can testify to that because there's been many a times that I've come home with the stress. And your boundaries affect your relationships and your leadership. Your identity influences your communication, your faith shapes your decisions, or at least it should. And all of it, it's all connected. So I had to stop treating the categories like separate journeys. The quiz was a tool, but it was never the method. A quiz result could point to an area of need, but it could not fully explain what a woman had experienced, what she was carrying, or what God was inviting her to do

Why The Whole Woman Matters

next. And so the personal rebrand method is now one complete 12-week scripture-centered coaching experience designed to support the whole woman, not just part of the woman, the whole woman. And so you may enter the program because of a career transition, or you may enter because you no longer recognize yourself outside of the roles you've been carrying. Or you may enter because your confidence has been shaken, or because you know God is calling you forward and you are struggling to move. The starting points may be different, right? But the process addresses the woman underneath all of them. So what is the personal rebrand method?

What The Personal Rebrand Method Is

Well, here's how I would explain it if we were sitting, you know, across from each other with our little cafecito and some pandulce, because you know I love my conchas. But the personal rebrand method is a 12-week faith-based coaching journey for the woman who has grown, changed, or entered a new season, but feels as though parts of her life are still connected to an older version of herself, right? And what it does, it gives her the space, structure, tools, and support to examine what she has been carrying, renew the way she sees herself, and rebuild the areas that need strengthening and move into her next season with intention. And this is identity work, but it does not end with self-discovery. You see, discovery is only the beginning. The method helps a woman take what she is learning about herself and apply it to her boundaries, communication, relationships, leadership, decision making, visibility, and direction. Because it's not enough to say I know who I am now. The deeper question is how will that knowledge change the way you live? And that is where transformation becomes practical.

What A Rebrand Is Not

So the word rebrand can create all kinds of assumptions. So let me clear up a few things, okay? The personal rebrand method is not about inventing a more impressive version of yourself, right? So this isn't about the, you know, like in January, you hear this right before that. It's new year, new me, right? Like we're having to reinvent ourselves. And that's not what this is about. It's not about inventing a more impressive version of yourself, right? It's not about performance, pretending or polishing yourself so other people will finally approve of you. And it's also not a makeover. And interestingly enough, yesterday at church, our pastor was talking about how we live in a catfish world. In other words, that everything is either revamped or camouflaged, or AI has a way of making us appear to look a certain way, but in real life, it's not anything what we look like, right? And so it reminded me of why I created the personal rebrand method, right? Because it's not about our appearance, it's not about changing our style of dressing or anything like that. Your appearance and professional presence may eventually change because your confidence has changed, but we are not beginning with your clothes or your hair, your logo or your Instagram feed, right? This is not a personal branding or business marketing course. Now, what we may do is we may talk about communication. We may talk about leadership and visibility and professional direction, but we are not choosing brand colors or developing content strategy. And it's also not therapy, mental health treatment or crisis intervention. Now, I will say this that during discussions, we may have moments of, you know, having those aha moments of something a little bit more deeply rooted, but we're not going to stay there. And my thing would be, you know, if there's something that pops up and maybe you have it triggered something in you, then my recommendation would be, you know, you may want to have a therapist if that's needed, right? But coaching and therapy, they serve different purposes. PRM, which we're going to abbreviate it, right? Because it's so long to say the personal rebrand method, but PRM is designed for women who are ready and emotionally able to reflect. It's it's for that woman who can make decisions and practice new behaviors and take responsibility for their next step, right? And while the method is scripture centered, it is not simply a Bible study either, which is why I wrote my book. My book is going to be a Bible study. And I'm, like I said, I am so excited about that. But we'll talk more about my book in in a different time. But we are not reading scripture and discussing what it means. We are using biblical truth to examine our beliefs. We're going to challenge unhealthy patterns, we're going to make wiser decisions and create change in everyday life. And this is also bigger than positive thinking because you can't affirm your way around a boundary you refuse to establish. You can't journal your way out of a conversation you need to have, and you can't pray for direction and continually avoid the step God has already shown you, right? Renewing your mind matters, but renewed thinking must eventually produce renewed choices, and that is where the work gets honest.

The Four Phases Shed Renew Build Live

So the PRM moves through four phases. It flows from shed, renew, build, live. Each phase answers a different question. So phase one, which we begin with, is shed. Shed asks, what am I carrying that no longer belongs in my next season? And this is where we examine outdated beliefs, old expectations or survival patterns, misplaced guilt, unhealthy attachments, and identities built around what other people need us to be or needed us to be. Shed is not about rejecting your past, but it is about recognizing what helped you survive one season, but cannot lead you into the next one. You can't move freely while carrying everything you have ever been handed. It's like you're carrying this heavy backpack and you're just carrying junk in it, right? And some things have to be acknowledged, some things have to be grieved, and some things have to be released. And then we move into phase two, which is renew. And renew asks, what truth must replace what I have released? This is where we focus on the renewal of the mind. We talk about identity in Christ, personal values, boundaries, and the beliefs shaping how a woman sees herself. Releasing an old belief creates space, but that space must be filled with truth. Otherwise, we return to what is familiar. So renew helps a woman stop building her identity around rejection, disappointment, comparison, productivity, or the other roles she performs for other people. She begins rebuilding from a stronger foundation. What God says, what she values, and what she now understands about herself. So then we move into the third phase, which is build. And build asks, what needs to be strengthened so I can move forward differently. And this is where discovery becomes structured. A woman identifies her strengths and gifts, she develops her voice, she practices healthier communication, she examines the environments affecting her growth and begins making intentional changes. Build is not about having everything figured out. Okay. It's about refusing to remain passive with what you now know. So in my book, I wrote, I don't believe courage is the absence of fear. I believe courage is choosing obedience even when fear is trying to convince you not to move. That is the heart of build. Because you may still be afraid, you may still have questions, but fear is no longer allowed to make every decision. And the last phase is phase four. Live. And live asks, how will I carry this transformation into my everyday life? This is where a woman begins making decisions from her renewed identity. She practices discernment, she develops the courage to be visible, she creates a clear direction for what comes next and completes her personal rebrand portfolio, a documented record of what she has learned, what she has released, and what she is committed to building. And the program ends with a rebrand reveal and commissioning. But the transformation doesn't stop or doesn't end there. Because live is not a finish line, it is a decision to stop visiting the woman you are becoming and finally begin living as her. And that is the journey. Shed what no longer fits, renew your mind and identity, build what your next season requires, and live what you now believe.

Signs You Are At A Crossroads

Now, let me talk directly to the woman who may be listening and wondering whether any of this applies to her or you. Okay. You may be ready for a personal rebrand if your life looks fine from the outside, but something inside of you feels disconnected, right? You're responsible, dependable, capable. And people come to you because you are the one who handles things, right? But honey, you they have not seen the shoes, the shoes you've been wearing, the ones that have gone up and down and all around the way, right? They see the woman standing tall. What it took for her to keep walking, right? It's it's like if any of you know, I am a six-time half marathoner. And so when you are a runner and you've been in training, your shoes can get worn out pretty quickly because of the pavement. And so you can see how many miles have been those those shoes have gone through because of the wear and tears. And that's life also, right? It looks like those worn-out shoes that have gone through some things, and those are the shoes that people don't always see. They see the well put together woman, but they don't see what it took her to get there. They don't see the moments when you sit in your car a little longer because you need a few minutes before someone needs something else from you. They don't see the questions you have been afraid to say out loud, like, who am I now? What do I want in this season? Why does this life I prayed for still feel uncomfortable? Or why do I feel guilty for wanting something to change? Maybe your children are getting older and the role that once consumed your life is shifting. Maybe you're becoming an empty nester. Or maybe you are entering leadership and realize that your confidence has not caught up with your responsibilities. Or maybe you are rebuilding after a disappointment. Or maybe you have outgrown an environment, relationship, or professional direction that once made sense. Or perhaps nothing dramatic has happened. You just simply know that you can't keep moving through life on idle autopilot. You're not necessarily falling apart, but you do feel like you're at a crossroads, and you don't want to make another decision based only on pressure, fear, exhaustion, or what everyone else expects from you. You want to understand who you are in this season and move with wisdom. That is the woman the personal rebrand method was created to serve.

Three Questions To Sit With

So before we close out, I want to give you three questions to sit with this week. So I don't want you to rush through them. I want you to give yourself permission to answer honestly. So the first question is where does my current life no longer reflect the woman I have become? Second question What if I what have I controlled? Continued caring simply because it's familiar. And then number three, what decision might I might I make if I truly believed I did not need anyone else's permission? So I want you to write down those questions and I want you to take them with you in your closet, like myself. I I like to go to my closet when I'm praying to God because I'm by myself, there's no distractions, or maybe you just want to go to the park or go, you know, get some coffee, whatever. But whatever it is, I want you to sit with those questions, and I want you to pray about them. And so I'm gonna repeat those questions again. Where does my current life no longer reflect the woman I've become? What have I continued caring simply because it's familiar? And what decision might I make if I truly believed I didn't need anyone else's permission? And when you do, answer those questions. I want you to pay attention to the answer that makes you uncomfortable. Because that may be the one I'm asking for your attention. That's the one that probably pulls at you, right? So let us pray.

Prayer And Next Steps

Lord, thank you for the woman listening today. Thank you for every season you have carried her through, including the seasons she she still doesn't fully understand. Give her clarity about what she has been carrying and the courage to acknowledge what no longer belongs in her life. Renew her mind with your truth. Remind her that her identity is not determined by the expectations of others, the mistakes she has made, the rejection she has experienced, or the role she has performed. Help her recognize the woman you have been shaping through every lesson, every disappointment, and every closed door and every act of obedience. Give her the wisdom for the decisions ahead. Show her what to release, what to rebuild, and where you're inviting her to move. And when fear tries to convince her to remain where she is, remind her that courage is not the absence of fear. Courage is choosing to trust and obey you in the middle of. In Jesus' name. Amen. Amiga, if something in this episode stirred you, don't brush it aside.
