Are you a foodie? Do you like to experience the authentic cuisine of the country where you are traveling? Annie Sim, CEO of The Table Less Traveled, is bringing an intimate concept of food and travel together.
With culinary exploration at the heart of their travel experiences, Annie Sim labels herself the CEO — Chief Eating Officer — of The Table Less Traveled. Her love affair with travel began at age 13 when her parents took her out of the U.S. for the first time. The moment she woke up in a thatched-roof hut with elephants and giraffes just steps away, everything changed and she hasn’t stopped exploring since. While spending 10+ years abroad, Annie built lasting friendships with local chefs, business owners, and friends who were “people people” just like her and open to welcoming travelers into their homes. In the spirit of coming together and exploring somewhere new, she founded The Table Less Traveled in 2015, pairing a love of travel and food with her relationships that extended outside of tourism to distill iconic experiences of global cultures and create an intimate and authentic environment to experience them firsthand. After adding virtual and interactive cooking classes to the company offerings because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Annie can now also call herself a connection expert as her team works to bring those same chefs from around the world and their global recipes straight into the kitchens of travelers, home chefs, and foodies. The Table Less Traveled transports work teams, families, and strangers to Italy, Japan, Peru, and beyond through in-person and virtual shared experiences so they can gain a deeper appreciation for destinations around the world.
