Leadership is changing, and I don't want you to be left behind.

What do I mean?

If you were to think about what leadership meant to you as you were growing up, what comes up for you?

For me its...

• Giving directions/orders
• Being at the top of the chain of command
• Making your team sacrifice themselves for the goal/team
• Using power and position to control
• Leading others to actions that only benefits work, the company, or the leader

If you haven't noticed, some of those things (most of them from what I've experienced) no longer work.

And if you're pointing to the "outside world" or the "new generation" as the cause, you're missing a great opportunity to develop the skills that will have you be an even more effective leader because honestly, most leaders aren't willing to develop the new skills it takes.
