Sandgroper Sports
Watty, Scotty & Anth are Three sports mad Western Australians who are keen to profile West Aussie sportspeople, their lives and experiences in sport and outside of sport. We love hearing great human stories and we know that many others in our community do too. Sandgroper sports proudly focusses on Western Australians and takes the form of a casual discussion, where we discuss with our guests their lives in WA, what it's like being a WA athlete, what life is like outside of sport and what they think makes our state unique. Our podcasts are real life, authentic, conversations with our guests discussing how they got to where they are today, the ups and downs of their careers and what it means to be from WA.

Australian Cricket Royalty - Adam Gilchrist
Gilly is undoubtedly in the conversation as the best keeper of all-time and universally regarded as changing the role of the wicket-keeper-batsman through his exceptional keeping and explosive batting.
Not a born and bred West Aussie, he is certainly now a cherished Sandgroper since he made the move to WA from NSW 30 years ago this month.
His dynamic hitting delighted fans and demoralised the opposition.
Owner of many unique batting, keeping and even bowling records and how ‘bout these accolades - Wisden Cricketer of the Year, ODI Player of the year, Sport Australia’s HOF and Australian Cricket HOF.
Now renowned as a commentator of the game, he is above all a ripper bloke who also gives his time to mentor athletes and help others less fortunate.
We sat down with the great man and discussed how Tequila cures COVID, how he got the nickname 0011-Telstra and how important a squash ball was in a memorable 149-run World Cup Final innings!
