Sandgroper Sports
Watty, Scotty & Anth are Three sports mad Western Australians who are keen to profile West Aussie sportspeople, their lives and experiences in sport and outside of sport. We love hearing great human stories and we know that many others in our community do too. Sandgroper sports proudly focusses on Western Australians and takes the form of a casual discussion, where we discuss with our guests their lives in WA, what it's like being a WA athlete, what life is like outside of sport and what they think makes our state unique. Our podcasts are real life, authentic, conversations with our guests discussing how they got to where they are today, the ups and downs of their careers and what it means to be from WA.

WA Basketball Legend & Hall of Fame Inductee - Melissa Marsh
The Marsh surname is synonymous with West Australian sporting prowess. Many cricket followers will know of father Geoff, and sons Shaun and Mitchell Marsh – but basketball followers know that their sibling Melissa is a West Australian basketball legend and a Hall of Fame inductee?
Perth Lynx captain, games record holder and multiple championship winner with her beloved Willetton Tigers in the SBL, Melissa has done it all.
We discuss early life growing up in a sports mad family, riding dirt bikes around the house, playing king of the pack with her brothers, and setting up a basketball ring where it all kicked off for Melissa.
Playing elite level sport while still at school, we discuss the hard work and commitment required to make it to the top when very little financial reward is on offer.
We also explore Melissa’s life after sport as a coach, a mum and an educator and we hear about her love of all things WA.
