Faithful, Not Responsible: Trusting God With the Results | 1 Corinthians 3:5–9
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
In this From Wrong to Strong Weekly Devotional, Cisco Terrazas brings a powerful reminder from 1 Corinthians 3:5–9 about our true role as believers.
Many Christians carry pressure that was never meant for them. We feel responsible for results, for change, for outcomes in people’s lives. But Scripture makes it clear: we are called to be faithful, not responsible.
Some plant. Some water. But God alone brings the growth.
Through key passages like Gospel of John 15:5, Epistle to the Romans 1:16, and Second Epistle to the Corinthians 5:20, this devotional will help you:
*Release the pressure of trying to change people
*Understand your God-given assignment
*Stay faithful in planting and watering
*Trust God fully with the results
You are a vessel, not the source.
An ambassador, not the Savior.
Stay connected to Christ, remain faithful in your calling, and let God do what only He can do.

Hello, brothers and sisters. This is Cisco Raso coming to you from another from Rock Strong Weekly Devotional. Today I'd like to touch on our jobs as Christians. In one Corinthians three, five through nine, the Apostle Paul brings clarity to something we often misunderstand in our walk with God. He says, what after all is Apollos? And what is Paul, only servants through whom you came to believe? I planted the seed. Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. This is a powerful reminder. God assigns each of us a role, but none of us carry the weight of the outcome. Some are called to plant seeds. Sharing the word, introducing someone to Christ. Others are called to water encouraging discipling, walking alongside someone in their journey. But the transformation, the breakthrough, the true change of heart that is the work of God alone. Paul humbles us in verse seven. So neither the one who plants, nor the one who waters is anything but only God who makes things grow. In other words, we are vessels. God is the source. This truth is echoed in Gospel of John 15, five, where Jesus says, I am divine. You are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit apart from me. You can do nothing. We don't produce fruit on our own. We simply remain connected to him and he produces it through us. Even when we share the gospel, it is not our words that change hearts in Romans one 16 reminds us for, I am not ashamed of the gospel because it is the power of God that brings salvation. The power is not in us. It isn't the message of Christ. And again, in two Corinthians five 20, we are called ambassadors for Christ. Think about that we represent him. We point people to the cross, but we are not the savior. We simply carry the message. So today, be faithful in what God has assigned to you. Whether you're planting seeds or watering them. Don't carry a burden that was never yours to hold. God is the one doing the heavy lifting. He is the one changing lives. Our role is simply pointing people to Jesus. Trust God with the results and remain faithful in the assignment because in the end, it's not about what we build, it's about what God grows. I am Cisco RAAs and I am from wrong to strong.
