What if your greatest weakness became the place where God's greatest power is revealed?

In this From Wrong to Strong Ministries devotional, Cisco Terrazas explores the powerful truth found in 2 Corinthians 12:9, where the Apostle Paul reminds us that God's grace is sufficient and His power is made perfect in our weakness.

In a world that celebrates self-sufficiency and personal strength, Scripture calls believers to a different path—complete dependence on Christ. Through Paul's "thorn in the flesh," the promises of Psalm 46:1 and Isaiah 40:29, and the example of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane and at the cross, this devotional encourages us to stop hiding our weaknesses and instead allow God's strength to shine through them.

If you're facing discouragement, suffering, uncertainty, or feel overwhelmed by life's burdens, this message will remind you that God's grace is enough and His strength will sustain you.

Key Scriptures:

Speaker

Hello, brothers and sisters. This is Cisco Terrazas coming to you from another From Wrong to Strong devotional. I'd like to start us off with the following biblical verse, 2 Corinthians 12:9: But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore, most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities that the power of Christ may rest upon me" As followers of Jesus Christ, the world teaches us to boast in our accomplishments, talents, and strengths. Yet Scripture teaches something radically different. The Apostle Paul learned that God's greatest work is often revealed not through our strengths, but through our weaknesses. When Paul pleaded with God to remove his thorn in the flesh, God's response was not immediate deliverance, but a reminder that His grace was enough Weakness has a way of exposing our dependence on God. In moments of pain, suffering, disappointment, and uncertainty, we are reminded that we never meant to carry life's burdens alone. Our weakness becomes a stage upon which God's power is displayed. When we have exhausted our own strength, we discover the limitless strength of Christ. As it is declared in Psalm 46:1, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." Likewise, the prophet Isaiah reminds us in Isaiah 40:29, "He gives power to the weak and to those who have no might. He increases strength." God does not ask us to pretend we are strong. He invites us to come to Him honestly, acknowledging our need for His help and trusting in His sustaining grace. Even Jesus demonstrated this in truth. In the Garden of Gethsemane, He experienced deep sorrow and anguish, yet submitted Himself fully to the Father's will. Through what appeared to be weakness on the cross, God accomplished the greatest victory in human history. What looked like defeat became triumph. Therefore, when trials come, let us not become discouraged by our limitations. Instead, let us boast in them, knowing they provide opportunities for Christ's power to rest upon us. Our weakness is not an obstacle to God's work. It is often the very place where His glory shines brightest. Here's a reflection question. What weakness, struggle, or burden am I trying to carry on my own strength instead of surrendering to Christ? Today, bring your weakness before God in prayer. Rather than asking only for the struggle to be removed, ask the Lord to reveal His power, grace, and faithfulness through it. Trust that His strength is more than sufficient for whatever you face. Let me end this with a prayer. Heavenly Father, thank You that Your grace is sufficient for me. In moments when I feel weak, discouraged, or overwhelmed, help me remember that Your power is made perfect in weakness. Teach me to rely on You rather than my own understanding and strength. May my trials become testimonies of Your faithfulness, and may Your power rest upon me so that You receive all the glory. In Jesus' name, amen. I am Cisco Terrazas, and I am From Wrong to Strong.
