Welcome, welcome to the Calm Entrepreneur podcast. I'm your host, Corinne O'Flynn, and this is episode 23.

Speaker 1: This week, i want to talk about self-care in the framework of human design, and the reason why I want to do it this way is because I feel like I want everyone in the world to learn about human design, and I think that talking about it through the terms of self-care and the needs of the different types is a pathway in there, because I think that that's going to speak to more people in a way that doesn't require any real understanding beyond the very basic level of what human design and how that operates. It's interesting because, when speaking to my friends and my coaching clients about their design. The way that it comes up is through self-care, it's through the needs of the individual person. When they are feeling at a whack, so when things are not going according to plan or when things don't feel like they're in flow, when you feel like you're out of alignment, the first thing you do is you take an inventory and you want to repair that. And when you're talking about the larger themes in our lives like self-care is a big deal and when you understand your human design type and you can speak to your needs based on your type, that conversation has been eye-opening. I can't even describe it for you.

Speaker 1: I was driving in the car with one of my girlfriends and she said something and I was like well, you're a projector, so that means this. And the way that I said it to her, she grabbed my arm and she was like oh my gosh, that is so 100% clear. The clarity that was gained in that moment was beyond anything that she'd actually experienced before. But deeper than that, what it was was a validation. It was this sense of being seen in a way that didn't happen before, not that I hadn't seen her before, but that this problem was now more than just this interpersonal thing that she was dealing with in her relationships with certain individuals in her circle. It actually was this thing, the theme that she was dealing with in her life. That's why I want to talk about self-care within the context of human design.

Speaker 1: For those of you who don't know, human design is this beautiful, extraordinary system that combines astrology and the ancient Chinese Yi Qing and the Hebrew Kabbalah and the Hindu chakra model and quantum physics to provide us with a really unique tool for understanding ourselves and others. That is really what it's all about. It's not a box, it's not a limit, it's not something that says, oh, this is you, this is what you are, and that's that. It has nothing to do with locking you in. What it is is a roadmap, it's a blueprint, it's the path to self-love and through that, it's the path to compassion for other people, for humanity, for everything At its core. It helps us understand how we work, how we operate, and it guides us on how we can live in harmony with our true nature. That is what I think is probably like human design 101.

Speaker 1: When you take on the learning of human design, the first thing you're going to learn is that there are five types. There are five types. All the people in the world are sorted into these five different types, and then each type has a strategy, and that is a decision-making strategy. It's an operation strategy, it's an action strategy, and if you learn nothing more about human design ever, but you do learn your type and then your strategy and you understand how to start to live your strategy, by your type, you will be able to shift deeper into an alignment faster and with more clarity than I think ever before. At the risk of beating this fabulous horse, i will just leave it there, and if you are interested in talking to me more, you can go to my website, corinneophlyncom there's a link in the show notes and click on the work with me tab and then you'll get information there about how you can book a call with me and we can talk further, because I think that this is something that everybody can benefit from. If everyone in the world woke up tomorrow and they were given an envelope with this information and literally just your type and your strategy and instructions on how to live, that the world would be such a different place, because I think that everybody would have this deeper understanding of themselves and then more space for everyone else.

Speaker 1: It's interesting the other day I was emailing with a friend and she had heard me talk about human design in a group that we were in and I was so excited about it and I was like, oh my gosh, you guys, it's just unbelievable, this is what I want to do and this is what I'm learning. And she emailed me and she said you know, here's my chart. But I don't know, and I believe that we live our lives and we function based on our past experiences, which, of course, that's true, 100% true. But here's my information because I'm just so curious because of how you spoke about it. It was, just so you know, magnetic and so I looked at the information that she gave me and she actually only gave me a couple of pieces of information, like the summary information, which from that I was able to discern a lot of information for her to send back to her. And during that conversation, one of the things that I shared with her was you know, i don't think that human design is a defining tool, i don't think that it's future telling, i don't think that it's meant to, i don't think it can do anything like that and I don't think it's meant to contradict our life experiences or the fact that we have free will and the fact that we are here living our lives.

Speaker 1: The core essence of what I take from human design is love and compassion. When you see yourself and see yourself reflected back through the language of human design and I'm going to qualify this and say it's through the language of quantum human design in particular and there is a difference between the two that I'll explain in a moment When you see yourself reflected back in the language of quantum human design, you see it, it resonates in a way that few things do and it really does give you that freedom to validate and really understand that we're so unique and we're meant for something greater than just this. Every day, we are meant to connect because we are actually all already connected. Anyway, i could go on and on and I'm going to stop. As I said before, i want to talk about strategy and type and self-care techniques for each, because by understanding your design and realizing that all self-care practices are not created equal, because everybody's different and the different types, you could find strategies within those things for self-care. And When talking to people about human design, i have found that the conversations center on a challenge and then a resolution. When I speak to the resolution, i'm speaking to them from their type and their strategy and also their authority, which is something that I'm not going to get into it. We don't need to get into it in order to really understand for the purposes of this podcast, but when I address a challenge based on type and strategy, there's so much understanding that happens and it's inner knowing The person receiving the information is like you're right, oh, my gosh, that's me. So that's where we're going to go today.

Speaker 1: The difference between traditional human design and quantum human design is the vision. It's the language that's used, but the language has been changed because of the vision. They run parallel to each other. So there are five types of people in human design and they are the manifestors, the generators, the manifesting generators, which are a hybrid, the projector and the reflector. So the very first type that I want to talk about is the manifestor. So manifestors make up about 10 percent 9 percent, it depends, changes depending on who you look at But under 10 percent of the population.

Speaker 1: And what makes a manifestor a manifestor is their power to initiate, and that comes from their direct, internal, nonverbal connection to divine inspiration, and the first time I heard that I was like what? So I'm going to say it again and I'm going to kind of break it down A manifestor has a direct, internal, nonverbal connection to divine inspiration. Their job is to initiate. They don't have to wait, they don't have to. There's no divine timing for them, because they know their internal alignment brings with it a sense of right timing for action, and the role of the manifestor is not only to follow through on the inspiration with the action, but it's to initiate the rest of us into action in right timing. And that's a huge job. Like we think about it in the terms of like humanity, like the manifestors are here to initiate, they're here to start and they understand things in a way that none of us do.

Speaker 1: So the important thing, the challenge, is to inform, and informing is a big theme in human design And it's really important to understand what it means to inform and why it is so important. Informing is simply letting the stakeholders know. It's making the people who are going to be impacted by your action aware of what you're doing. It's really that simple, and it's not. It is absolutely not, i repeat, not asking for permission. A manifestor does not ask for permission. They let the people know.

Speaker 1: And the reason why is because of that internal, nonverbal connection to inspiration. Because it is nonverbal, because it is internal, it's a flash, it moves so quickly And it is so powerful that the purpose of informing is to let the people around that manifestor know not to interrupt them while they're doing the thing that they're doing. Because when it's interrupted, that flow of energy is so powerful and it's moving so fast that when it's cut off it explodes. And when it explodes it looks like anger. And it's not anger that's directed at anybody And it actually really isn't anger. It's just this explosion of energy with no channel because it's been interrupted. When it's cut off, there's nowhere for it to be. So that's why the manifestor has to inform. So their strategy is to inform and then to take action.

Speaker 1: So the challenge for the manifestor is to learn to use their creative energy sustainably, right To be sustainable and to truly serve their purpose of initiating others, they have to heal their relationship with their personal power, they have to reclaim their power, they have to step into their power and they have to cultivate an alignment with their own truth and their own creative flow and learn to be at peace with the idea that they are truly connected to creative force in a way that not many others are. And that goes back to that self-worth piece, that self-love piece, which is truly at the core of everything in human design. It's kind of like when you look at human design, you look at it on a chart called the body graph and at the center of that body graph is the heart. And the heart it's the calibration center in quantum human design, because the calibration center, the heart, is where we have the resonance for creation in the world, like when people talk about manifesting. Manifesting requires heart coherence. It requires that the way that we feel is in line with the thing that we believe. And so when you are able to step into your power as a manifestor, when you are able to own your truth as a manifestor, then you are then in that flow and you are then in coherence with a higher vibration of creation.

Speaker 1: And I know that that was a huge mouthful of woo, but you know what? I'm here for it, i'm all here for it. If you want me to unlock that again, just reach out, because I am, i feel like I discovered this so that I can share it. It's been such a profound experience in discovering human design of the last couple of years year and a half, i guess And now that I am certified as a specialist in it, it's like I can't see the world without it. I'm looking at the world through the lens of it, because it's everywhere And it's a truth that I really can't. Nothing else has been as real as this.

Speaker 1: So anyway, back to the manifestor. Once the manifestor is able to integrate the value of their power and their role in the world, what they can do is heal their feelings of being alone, because that is a struggle for the manifestor, because the manifestor is this person who's operating on this channel that a lot of us just can't hear. You think about sound frequencies and high tones that some of us can and cannot hear. The manifestors are operating on a channel that a lot of people don't have access to And that causes isolation, right. That causes separation Or the feelings of separation, and so that's where the informing comes in, right. But once they're able to heal their feeling of being alone and understand that that's part of this and embrace their unique role, they will be able to shift into awakening the other people around them, initiating all of us into action and building communities and building movements and changing the world through their manifestor power.

Speaker 1: So, with all of that in mind, what does it mean to take on self-care for a manifestor? So, number one rest and relaxation. Because manifestors move at such a fast pace, down time is crucial. And this is not just laying still on a couch, right. This is not just closing your eyes and sleeping, although that is also important for all of us. It's mindfully. It's mindfully relaxing and rejuvenating, and this could be yoga, it could be meditation, it could be reading a good book, it could be going on a walk, it could be anything that is done in a way to unplug from the world and really sink into solitude Solitude in action.

Speaker 1: Another requirement for manifestors is a balanced diet, right. Nourishment is really important because of the energy that they're expending, really tapping into that flow right. And manifestos often have an irregular appetite, right. So tuning into your own body's signals for hunger and satisfaction when it comes to your diet is really important. So the other thing is having a creative outlet, because there's so much initiation energy with the manifestor that it sometimes feels like this push to produce with the end result in mind, like there has to be success tied, or monetary things tied to it And that is not important at all Like you need to have fun creation. So painting, writing, any form of self expression, will help channel that energy positively. So that feels like a lot of doing, but a manifesto, when they're in flow, is going to feel the need to do those things, and so finding a way to do that, separate from your everyday, separate from your job, separate from other people, is really going to help you maintain that sustainability piece which is so vital for all of us.

Speaker 1: The boundary setting is really important again, and this is what comes from that informing piece. Because of their impactful presence, manifestos really do need to set boundaries to protect their energy, and that's about saying no when they're needed and prioritizing their own needs for creative outlets, for resting, relaxation. So that's something that's really important And it's really important to practice informing. And if your child is a manifestor, it's important to inform them of things because they like to be informed. We all like to be informed, but it's part of the way that the manifestor operates For children. It's important that we inform them, but it's also to teach them how to inform, because there's a lot of that energy to just do. That's initiator energy. And when we learn that informing piece, which is so vital, it's part of the strategy for the manifestor. It's to inform and then initiate action.

Speaker 1: Inform first, so that is the last piece for the manifestor. So the next type is the generator, and these are the builders, these are the doers. So they represent about 38% of the population And the generator's role is to turn inspiration into form. Okay, so they are here to excel in fulfilling that vision. Right, and it's not about being the best at a skill or a job, but instead knowing how to navigate life with that drive to excel, knowing how to know what is the right thing to do and knowing how to learn and then following through until excellence is achieved.

Speaker 1: This is something that I struggled with when I first learned about the different types, because, as a manifesting generator, i have part of the generator energy with mine And the generators strategy is to respond. And when I heard that, i was like what does that mean? Like to respond to what? And it literally is to respond. And when you understand what that means, it's kind of magical, because a generator has to train themselves to tune into their inner gut level feeling of what's right And then follow it, even if it defies the plans that they've made, even if it defies the vision, even if it defies what they thought was going to happen.

Speaker 1: But the challenge is to wait. Now the manifesters that I mentioned earlier. They don't have any waiting requirement. They have initiating. They just let somebody know and they go.

Speaker 1: The generators and every other type there is some form of waiting built into their strategy. So the generator has to wait for something to respond to, and one of the ways that this was described in Karen Curry Parker's videos. She has a YouTube channel that's just full of so much fabulous information. She talked about a generator or a manifesting generator deciding that they want to go on vacation And instead of just sitting down at the computer and opening up the browser and booking trips, booking tickets to a place to go, they have to wait. And they have to wait for some kind of signal from the outside world to kind of validate that. That's the thing, and we call those synchronicities right. How many times have you had a conversation about something and then somebody else out in the world, anything at all, bounce that back to you? That's what the generator needs to do, because it's those hits from outside that give the green light that now is the time, and it's about timing for them.

Speaker 1: So the generator is designed to respond, and so the challenge is to learn to wait for the right step and to hone that ability to sit with and be with frustration, recognizing that frustration is the signal that something is coming, and one of the challenges for manifesting generators and generators is quitting too soon And understanding that frustration is actually part of the pattern of the generator types. Frustration is a sign that a door is about to open, you're about to level up and it's talked about like a stair step. It's going to be a pattern in our lives forever that we are learning, learning, learning, learning, and things aren't going according to exactly how we feel and we're frustrated and we just have to hold on. We have to hold on and we have to wait and then we will level up and that next thing will happen. And then the pattern repeats, unfortunately, because we keep on going and we level up, level up, level up, but at the door that we can't see, at that stair that's hitting us in the face because we have to jump up to next level, is frustration, and we just have to learn to ride that out.

Speaker 1: So self care for generators and again, their strategy is to respond. They have to be able to wait to respond. So how do we do that? We kind of keep ourselves busy while we're waiting with physical activity. So generators have a lot of abundant energy. Generators are called generators because they have a sustainable motor in their body graph. And again, i don't want to dig too deep into all the different details of what these things mean because it's not important. I think that it is important if you want to go there, but you don't need to know that in order to really improve your life by living your strategy by your type. So generators have a lot of energy, they have a lot of sustainable energy, but they have sometimes too much energy.

Speaker 1: So part of self care for generators is physical activity. You need to dance, you need to run, you need to do something with your hands, you need to do gardening, you need to do something physical to run out your energy every single day before you go to bed. And if you're able to run all that energy out of you, whether that be running or not running, it needs to be doing something physical, whatever it takes to get that energy burned will be the thing that is self care for you. That will provide rest. You'll be able to sleep more deeply when you have burned yourself out I shouldn't say burned yourself out. When you burn off all that excess energy, you will be able to get that rest that you need.

Speaker 1: The other thing that generators need is a lot of mental stimulation. Right, puzzles, reading, learning a new language anything that stimulates you mentally and challenges you to think and to dig deep is self-care for a generator. And this is interesting because, as a manifesting generator that speaks to me, i am always taking in information. I'm always signing up for classes, i'm always learning, always, always, always. And when I am done working for the day, i don't typically sit down and rest or turn on the TV, although I do watch movies and things like that later But after I'm done working and I'm done for the day and it's time to have me time, i sit on my computer and I open up whatever class I'm working through at the moment. Like it's truly how some of the generator types need that stimulation.

Speaker 1: Self-care for generators is also listening to your gut, learning to pay attention to your gut feelings, because they are always going to be right And not acting on them. It's paying attention to them. You need to listen for them, understand how they come, how they feel, what they sound like, where they are in your body, so that when you wait to respond, you'll be able to act. So learning to listen to your gut is a big, big thing for the generator types. And then the last one for the generators is adequate rest, and again they have lots and lots of energy. But you need to sleep to recharge, which I mean all of us do, right, but the only way to get that sufficient sleep is to burn off all that excess energy.

Speaker 1: So my husband is a generator and I try to talk to him about this and he thinks that I'm practicing magic over here and we laugh about it. But on the days where he works out or on the days where he gets on the bike or on the treadmill or whatever it is that he did, those are the days that he sleeps the best. But when I say, hey, what did you notice? that the last few days where you did this and you slept like a baby, he just was like yeah, whatever, i don't want to listen to your magic. So there's that And I'll say it here, belief is not required. Test this out.

Speaker 1: And when I first put this episode together my show notes I was considering talking about self-care and different personality types without really naming it, because I wanted to just see if it would resonate more fully with more people if it weren't attached to anything that we might have a preconceived idea about, because there is a lot of resistance when it comes to this And I just I want to break that wall down. So self-care for generators is all about trusting their inner gut response, understanding what their personal gut response feels like and then learning to wait right And also burning off the energy. So the next type is the manifest generator, and this is the multitasker, and this is me I am. So I'm the poster child for the manifest generator. I'm the person who has so many plates spinning. I am always doing more things. I have, like I don't have all the browser tabs open because that's just. I do not operate that way. But in an archetypal way, the manifest generator is the person who has all the browser tabs open. They have, like, all these different things going on And none of these things have anything to do with each other, because there's just so much going on for them in their minds And they have this craving for input and take it all in and learn, learn, learn.

Speaker 1: And there's manifesting generators make up about a 30% of the population of the world And they are a hybrid of the manifester and the generator. But it's not just a cleanup, it's not a pure hybrid. You can't just say that everything for the manifester is true and everything for the generator is true, because it's truly a hybrid. So, like the manifester, there is a blend of the manifesting energy right, because they also do have that internal nonverbal connection to that initiator. But there's also the fact that, because there is the generator type, they can't initiate. So they have to wait for that inner response, they have to wait for right timing and that external factor. So the manifesting generator is connected to the flow of all the ideas, all the things to initiate on, all the things that they wanna do and learn and be and share. But the differences that they have to wait. They have that impulse to do. But when you push against the doing, without waiting for right timing, it never works.

Speaker 1: And I can tell you that, like I live, this is something that I live And when I learned about this, i was like wow, like that's. It's kind of weird to know that that's a thing, because it's like I thought this is something that I struggled with And then there's a lot of shame associated to the failures that I've had around those kinds of things that kind of fell flat. But when you understand that it's actually a thing like you know, i'm gonna talk about shame in a future episode with how these different types operate, because that's a big deal. Like we do a lot of negative self-talk because of the way that we don't succeed in the things that we try to do in life. But what if it's because we're doing it wrong? Like what if it's not because we're doing the wrong thing, but we're just coming at it in the wrong way? What if it was simple? what if it was as simple as waiting for right timing? What if it was as simple as informing that unlocked that thing? So again, it's this beautiful, powerful thing to really understand this.

Speaker 1: So the manifesting generator once they have something to respond to, they can spring into action with the same speed and the same kind of inner alignment as the manifester right. And this speed gives them the manifesting generator. They have the role of finding the fastest, easiest way to experience excellence in a task right. They can achieve mastery in whatever it is that they're learning, and in quantum human design. We talk about the manifesting generator as the time bender, because there's so much going on and they are gifted with the ability to find the fastest route to the finish, but they don't always finish the fastest. What's interesting about the manifesting generator is part of their process is to start the thing, move really, really fast, see the path all the way through, which allows them to jump over some steps right, skirt some corners, but then, when they get almost to the end, they realize the value of the things that they jumped over. And then they go back and they fill in the blanks And to understand that that's part of a like, that's the way that we operate.

Speaker 1: That alleviated so much negative self-talk for me, because I do that. I'm the person who starts off this thing and then I instantaneously oh my God, okay, yeah, i got that. That's intuitive, i'm going, going, going. And then I'm like, oh, yeah, okay, so now I have to go back and I blew past step four, but now I have to go do it And I felt a lot of like oh, i'm like I should have just gone slow and done step four after step three. But I'm not built that way and I never have been. It's never been something that I've done. But now that I understand that that's actually built into the way that I operate, that's so freeing, like so. So freeing Multitasking is essential to most manifesting generators, and it's not because they can create multiple things simultaneously they can but because they need to be busy in order to expand all the energy that they carry right.

Speaker 1: Not everything that the manifesting generator starts will be completed, which is another thing that felt so good to understand And like I always felt like that would be judged as being, like, flaky or sloppy or not a follow-through, or because I pride myself in being able to follow through on things. But then there's also this piece that's like you know, sometimes you start something and it's like, yeah, that's not for me, and I pivot, and that was a big lesson for me. Like, yeah, you're allowed to pivot and it's actually part of my nature. That's wonderful to hear, because I think that in our society, finishing things is something that we value and we look at as a strength. But I'm gonna say that that's not a strength for me, like forcing myself to finish something that I'm no longer in alignment with, is excruciating, it's torture for me. So finding that balance and understanding when something is no longer for me, as opposed to just being truly flaky and saying yeah, yeah, yeah, i'm not going to finish anything that I start like that's not what that's about, But it's really beautiful.

Speaker 1: And so the function of all these tabs being open in the browser, the function of being so multi-passionate and multitasking, for the manifestation generator is all about blowing off that energy. It's that generator strategy. The generator part of the manifest generator is the waiting and the burning off of all that excess, because there's just so much initiation that's happening behind the scenes, like so, under the hood, there's a whole lot going on, but we don't have the initiation and so we have to burn it off. So the lesson for the manifestation generator is to learn to wait for the next right step. They also, like a manifestor, must inform before acting, and they have to accept that not everything that they take action on is going to result in success, and that's okay. It's not about the destination, it's about the doing right, recognizing that your role as a manifesting generator is to find efficiencies, it's to find the most efficient way to create and to embrace that inner sense of timing married to the unique energy to follow their own path at their own speed. That's where the manifesting generator lives.

Speaker 1: And so, for self-care for the manifesting generators is all about variety, variety in the activities you take on. We have to have a range of activities in our routine, we have to stay stimulated in order to stay satisfied And this is especially important, and I think back to my own childhood like busy, busy, busy, busy, busy, doing, doing, doing, doing, doing, doing. And we label that in a lot of negative ways in children, and even more so now. And I think that understanding that that's a thing and trying to find a way to cultivate that brings a lot of power, but it also brings a lot of self-esteem. I think that understanding how you operate when you are a manifesting generator and realizing that these things that are judged as flaky and are judged, as you know, not being thorough or having to backtrack and looking at that negatively, those actually aren't negative things at all. That's actually just part of who you are, like it's, it's just a wonderful thing, just like exercise, like generators, manifesting generators have an abundant energy reserve, so regular physical activity will help channel this.

Speaker 1: And it's funny because about a year ago coming up in June, it will be a year that I started daily treadmill walking. I was walking outside and then my husband got me a treadmill and I do it every single day, 30 minutes a day, and some days I put the pedal to the metal and I work hard and I'm I'm sweating by the end of it and some days I'm really just going and enjoying, like you know, a leisurely walk. I have to get that out of my system And ever since I started this I've been sleeping so much better and my rest has been so much more restful. It's been wonderful. So physical exercise for the manifesting generator.

Speaker 1: Also, patience. You have to cultivate patience and wait for right opportunities. You have to wait. Rushing things leads to dissatisfaction 100% of the time because when you're rushing you're pushing against timing and timing has to come. So that's been the big lesson for me ever since taking on the learning of human design and quantum human design. Learning to live by my strategy has shifted the entire trajectory of my world. Like I have dropped into this sense of ease and flow in a way that I have never before, and again rest. Even though it might feel like we can keep on going forever and ever and ever.

Speaker 1: A manifesting generator needs to take time to both physically and mentally recharge, and it has to be done mindfully, it has to be done on purpose. Call it recharging, call it rest and take it. Don't try to check two boxes with one thing while being busy. So there's lots of different things going on there for the manifesting generator and you know, it's just. I find it just so interesting.

Speaker 1: So the next type is the projector, and the projector makes about 20% of the population and they play a very special role in the world. They carry knowledge, they carry insights, they're the guide, they have wisdom that has the potential to transform the way that we think and transform and improve the way we build the world. They process and work with energy really intuitively. They understand how energy works, they understand how energy flows and they have a projected energy and what the reason why they're called projectors. Projected energy requires that it be recognized and that recognition is the invitation. It has to be invited. They have to be seen in order to be heard, and this is really difficult. It's one of those things like when I first heard that the manifesting generator and the generator.

Speaker 1: Their strategy was to respond. It's like to respond to what, and the projector is needs to be invited, like invited to what, and what it is is. They can come into a room and they can see what's going on because, as this empathic, intuitive energy, they can read the room, they see everybody and they literally see you. They see you, they're able to drop in to your energy and your energy, and your energy and your energy so fully that they know what's going on and they know what needs to be shared with the people in the room. But if they aren't asked to share, then it will fall on deaf ears. And it's really interesting because when I shared this with a friend of mine and I actually said you have to be, you won't be seen until you're invited, it's going to fall on deaf ears. She was like, oh my God, like that's, that's what's going on. And it's amazing because she's fought against this for such a long time and she's actually said the words am I invisible? Like what's going on here? And so if this is you, if you're the kind of person who has wisdom to share and you share your wisdom with other people and then they don't hear it and you're like but I don't understand. And then somebody else says the same exact thing to that person, and then that person's like oh my God, you're right. And you're like wait a minute, i just said that to you. It's because of that invitation, it's because that recognition needs to happen before they will be heard, and it's it's really strange to see this in action, but it's true, it does happen.

Speaker 1: So energy is a premium for the projector, right, because they rely on this trajectory of the creative process in order to serve the world. So the projector is not engaging with the alignment with the creative process. They run the risk of using their own energy to force something into form And that's just not going to work because they don't have anything to sustain that energy. They call on energy of other people. So they must have the invitation. It's just so valuable to understand this And my son is a projector, and one of the things about projectors the challenge is all about self-worth, because when you're not getting the invitations, when you're not getting the recognition, when you're not seen as a source of wisdom, that's demoralizing, right.

Speaker 1: That can be really taking a hit in a lot of ways. So you have to learn that the reason why you're not getting the invitations is because your energy is not there. People aren't seeing you as a source of wisdom because you're depleted. And you get depleted because you're trying to force the invitation. You're trying to force your wisdom onto the world And so when you sit back and you spend all your time generating energy and cultivating that energy and storing up that energy so that the invitations, when they come, you'll be there for them, that's when the invitations come. So it's kind of like this little cycle of I need this to get that and I need that to get this.

Speaker 1: The challenge for the projector is to learn to value themselves and their wisdom enough to wait. Wait for the opportunity to share their knowledge and their insights, because once they facilitate that, that reflects their value And they need to maintain that sense of self-worth. But they also have to cultivate their energy by resting and replenishing. So this is huge, huge self-care for the projectors. So they need emotional downtime. They have deep attunement to the other people around them. They are tapping into the energy around them, so they have to find ways to disconnect, to recharge. This can be touch and grasp, stepping out in nature, meditating, journaling. These are solitary, introspective, emotional downtime.

Speaker 1: The other one is healthy boundaries. Set boundaries with those around you to protect your energy and make sure that you're not taking on more than you could handle. And scheduling is a big deal. Like you need to make sure that you understand the need for that downtime on a daily basis, on a regular basis. Restful sleep, of course, but projectors need more sleep than other types typically. So ensure that you have that supportive environment to support that need. Like you need to make sure that you can do that for yourself. And, like the Manifesting Generator, the projector loves the deep dive, right. So allow yourself that space to pursue knowledge, keep yourself stimulated by learning about things that you're passionate about and doing that deep dive Like. Allow yourself to go deep on something for no other reason than because it interests you.

Speaker 1: So that is the projector, and then the last one is the reflector. So the reflector is the rarest type in all of human design, making up 1% of the population, and they are defined by the fact that none of their centers are defined in the chart. And again, i don't want to go too deeply in what that means, but it means that they are deeply influenced by the environment around them And reflectors are also really connected to the lunar cycle, so their role is to experience everything in the world in an amplified way. Through all of their open centers they then see what's possible, they see what humanity can create, what can be fulfilled, and they also then can understand the current level of fulfillment And they reflect that back on the world, which is why they're called reflectors. They're like the mirror And so, like the generator types have their theme of frustration and the manifestor has their theme of anger, the reflector experiences a lot of disappointment, and it comes from two different sources.

Speaker 1: And the first sense of disappointment comes from the world around them. Because the reflector has this deep, visceral knowledge of what's possible for all of us. They can sense whether or not the people around them are living up to their full potential. And when they see the gap in the potential against what we're actually creating in the world like, they experience disappointment. And understanding that that disappointment is actually part of their theme can be really helpful for a reflector who might have up until this point in time but not really understanding like why is this? Like I'm just so bummed out all the time. And this is not depression, this is your theme. It's a reflection of the world.

Speaker 1: The second source of disappointment for the reflector involves the need for time. They also have this decision-making process that it requires a full lunar cycle in many, many cases, sometimes more than one in order to get clarity on certain things. Now, this is not to say that the reflector is unable to make a decision. They are able to make decisions in moments, but when it comes to the larger things, like the big decisions in life, they need a lot more time. They need a full lunar cycle in order to come full circle, literally on these big, big decisions. So they need the time And they also need the ability to talk through the decisions with other people while they wait for clarity And because they borrow energy from other people. If they surround themselves with people who have other centers in their charts defined, they will be able to draw on that energy in order to bring clarity in sooner. So it's really important that they have the right people around them and they understand what's going on when they feel that low energy of disappointment.

Speaker 1: The challenge for the reflector is to learn to let go of what needs to be fixed, to learn to let go of what isn't working and instead share and experience what is needed in the world and wait for the timing, because it's all about alignment and it's all about creating space. And the reflectors have the job of embodying what they feel, awakening in others and drawing that out in others. It's not the job of them to do the work of fixing. It's the job of the reflector to impress upon others the need that there is something to fix. So it's a really interesting energy And there's a lot of challenges for the reflectors because there's so much openness in their chart And when openness happens in a chart, everybody has every piece of the chart, of the body graph. Everywhere that we have openness in our chart we draw in from the outside world. So the reflector that's 100% of their chart, it's all open.

Speaker 1: So they have the challenge of really learning how to separate themselves from the people around them. So self-care for the reflectors is all about community. It's all about cultivating a strong, supportive community. Being around positive, uplifting individuals is crucial for the reflector And for the reflector to understand that when they don't have that around them, that will draw them down, that will bring them into that disappointment because they won't be able to pull out, because they won't have a place where they can bounce things off of other people who are in that positive vibe space. So it's super-duper important for the reflectors to really cultivate that strong circle around them.

Speaker 1: The other thing that's really vital for reflectors is to be really aware of the moon cycles. They are lunar beings, right, so having moon rituals is really, really helpful. Consider moon meditations or just spending time in the light of the moon can be really helpful for reflectors to kind of go within. They need space for reflection, right. You need space to evaluate and process the things that you're experiencing as a reflector and allowing yourself to reflect regularly, right. So that's the reflectors. So each human design type has its own unique mechanics, its own strategy and its authority for decision-making, and understanding the aspects of your design can really help you tune in to an aligned way of being. It's an incredibly powerful system and it's a self-discovery tool unlike any that I've seen before.
