The CPI Podcast Ep.8 - Paul Basagoitia - Pro Mountain Biker & Spinal Cord Injury Survivor

Paul Basagoitia is a professional mountain biker known for his skills in freeride mountain biking. In October 2015, during the Red Bull Rampage competition, Paul crashed and shattered his T12 vertebrae, injuring his spinal cord, and leaving him without feeling in his legs. Paul was airlifted to the hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery to stabilize his spine. 

Paul's story is featured in a Red Bull documentary titles "Any One of Us," which provides an intimate look at his life before and after the injury. The film also explores the broader issue of spinal cord injuries and the challenges faced by those who suffer from them.

Paul Basagoitia has made significant progress in his recovery, regaining some movement and sensation in his legs. He continues to work on his rehabilitation and remains an advocate for spinal cord injury awareness and research.
