Mono E Mono
Dave Fagan - Legendary Rugby Strength & conditioning coach - In memory Thank you for everything.
This podcast was originally recorded back in 2019, Sadly Big Dave Fagan passed away on the 4th of December 2024. As a result I wanted to reshare this episode and share the words of a great coach and great man. Dave was a massive influence on me as a rugby player and indeed 1000's of players at Leinster rugby. The lessons he instilled have stood the test of time helping me also to become a better man. He leaves a lasting memory on every player and person he coached in his exceptional career. I regret we didn't get to record that second podcast together however I am thankful we have this episode to remember him by. Good bye Dave you will be missed, thank you for everything.
Original episode description:
For the latest episode of Mono E Mono I met with one of the unsung heroes of Leinster rugby and Irish rugby as a whole Big Dave Fagan. Dave is the Leinster rugby Sub Academy manager & director of underage athletic development. Dave was a massive influence on myself in the early stages of my rugby career I spent 2 years earning my stripes in the dungeon of the sub academy and also worked with Dave on the international front as he was the strength and conditioning coach for the 2007 Grand slam Ireland U20's squad. The sub Academy is known as a right of passage in leinster rugby, It was during this period that I developed into a professional athlete both mentally and physically. The Sub Academy was extremly difficult but great fun at the same time I have some very happy memories from this period of my live and it was a pleasure to catch up with Dave again after so many years. #Leinsterrugby #subacademy #MEM008 #DaveFagan #rugby #mindset #BigDave #irishrugby #health #fitness #monoEmonoep8
