Experts warn that exceeding this limit will result in catastrophic climate impacts...and while many nations hesitate, cities around the world are taking action to combat the climate crisis.

This binding pact is known as the Paris Agreement. Experts warn that above this temperature, the world will suffer from increasingly catastrophic climate impacts, which will damage both human and planetary health.

[00:00:34] David: The science is clear. The planet cannot bear this endless consumption. But some insist on doubling down on furthering the damage.

[00:00:58] David: The only answer is a green and just transition to clean energy sources and a profound systems shift to prioritize the health of both people and planet. And yet, Nation states falter, but cities are stepping up to create a future where all can thrive. 

[00:01:18] Mayor Sadiq Khan: London implemented the world's largest clean air zone. We're also investing in green jobs, public transport, And clean energy. 

[00:01:31] David: Mayors are leading the way to create a future without dirty air, extreme heat and to mitigate against the worst impacts of the climate crisis, urban climate leaders in cities from every continent are united in stopping the countdown to climate breakdown.
