Andrew MacIntosh

Andrew MacIntosh is Senior Scientist, Wildlife Conservation at the Wilder Institute. He used to study and teach behavioral ecology, conservation and wildlife health and welfare at Kyoto University. With humble beginnings on the prairies of North America, he was drawn to exotic places with charismatic species. His past work took him to Central America, West Africa, East and Southeast Asia, and Antarctica. He's studied primates, penguins, the iconic raccoon dogs (tanuki) of Japan, and more. His research group at Kyoto University addressed theoretical and practical issues in wildlife science, and he's now leveraging this background to support species at risk in Canada and beyond. The PrimateCast reflects his effort to provide informational and inspirational interviews from scientists and practitioners in the primatology and wildlife science space.
