Welcome Zen , friend . I'm so glad you've joined me for this Drop of Zen , a short guided meditation designed to help you drop in and feel more calm and grounded . This Drop of Zen is going to be a short and sweet one that you can do anytime . It will help you to drop in and connect with yourself . So get nice and comfortable wherever you are . You can close your eyes if you'd like , or keep your eyes open . For this one , I'll encourage you to place one or both hands over your heart center and just start noticing what it feels like to go inside , where you feel emotions , into your body , into your heart center .
Speaker 1I often notice when I do this that I didn't think I was stressed at all , but there's some sense of feeling stress when I check in in the middle of the day . So just notice if that's what's coming up for you . Do you feel a little stress or some tension ? Just notice whatever you notice and once you identify the emotion or emotions that are coming up for you , just allow them , like you would sitting with a sweet child who maybe is feeling upset , and you would sit with them and maybe put your arms around them and just be with them in their emotions . Can you offer yourself the same thing ? Can you let yourself know that you have a lot going on ? Can you validate all that you are doing and how you're showing up and just stay there for another moment or so with whatever is , just being with it , being with yourself ?
Speaker 1If your thoughts start to wander into what you need to do when you return from this meditation , just simply notice it and then return back to focusing on being with yourself . What is it that you need to hear right now , and can you tell yourself what it is that you need ? Sometimes I just need to hear that I'm tackling a lot , that I have a lot on my plate and that I'm doing a great job . Maybe you need to hear something else .
Speaker 1Whatever it is , saying it to yourself and being with yourself here , in this present moment , with whatever is and however you are feeling A reminder that if you are feeling difficult emotions , they won't last forever . Emotions ebb and flow like ocean waves . They roll in , they roll out , and , trusting that your emotions will ebb and flow as they need to in the right time , we'll take a nice deep breath in here as we return and a long , slow exhale .
