Oh, you have to. Don't be amazed, don't be surprised, don't be shocked that Jesus says you must be born again. How can you believe that only those who come Jesus will see God and everybody else will make it? Because my Bible says so. Jesus told it to me, and I say, Yes, Lord, and I believe the word of God.
SPEAKER_01Welcome. Come on in. Come on in. Welcome to the Hundredfold Podcast, an extension of Hundredfold Ministry with Pastor Vanessa Holland, where we seek to deepen our relationship with the Lord as we study his word and worship. Today, we're handling some family business and diving into a powerful word about being in the world but not of it. Get ready to renew your mind, walk victoriously, and activate the superpower of God's love. Let's receive the word.
SPEAKER_00Amen. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Let us go before the presence of the Lord. Dear Heavenly Father, Lord God, thank you for this word that we are about to receive. Thank you, Lord God, for your presence. Lord, please forgive us for all of our sins. Lord God, you are God alone. We come to you in Jesus' name as you have already prepared our heart for worship, that you prepared super well. Break up the stony ground. Don't let anything fall on the bad ground, but let it all fall on good ground, good soil, and bring forth a hundredfold and more. Lord God, bless the hearers, every man, woman, boy, and girl, Lord God, that we would be blessed entirely, Lord God. Pierce through any confusion, Lord God, and shine your marvelous light. Hide us behind the cross, move us out the way and into your perfect will and way. Use our thoughts, mind, experiences, personality to exemplify the word in our life. Our understanding will meet with application and we'll be all the blessed for it. We love you, Lord God. We thank you for your presence in Jesus' name. Everybody said, Amen. Amen. Hallelujah. So this morning you may see me um talking a little more excitedly in Jesus' name. I've got some young men in the room. We've got to make sure their eyes are bright and they're smiling, put it forward. We've got to make sure the word pierces all through the sleepiness and the haze. Amen. But it's important. It's important. You know, back in the day when I was going through church and you'd have different services, every once in a while the pastor would be like, Well, this morning, I'm sorry to all the visitors, but we have to take care of some family business. And so then it was going, it was not going to be the regular decorum because the pastor had family business for the church. Well, this morning you can think of it that way. That is a lot of word that us that we've been deep in the fight and going through things, God says it's just time to feed hundredfold ministry, a whole bunch of word. And so if you're new and you're like, how many scriptures? Yes, more than that will be shared because it's time to take care of our hearts and God wants to uplift us by the message of his holy scriptures. Amen. If that's all right, shout Amen, Pastor.
SPEAKER_02Amen, Pastor.
SPEAKER_00Amen. And because it is so many scriptures, if you want to talk at me, I love that. Even if you are in the room by yourself and you think it doesn't make a difference, it does. Because in the kingdom of God, we're connected by the Holy Spirit. And so the things that are done, we don't have to see it to know it. God speaks across the miles. Amen. Amen. So there is a word for us this morning. Everybody say to be in the world, to be in the world, but not of the world. Say, I am in the world, I am in the world, but not of the world. We used to hear that phrase all the time. We're in the world, but not of the world. We're in the world, but not of the world, but we don't hear it as much now. But it's so important as a Christian, as one who is born again, to know that we are in the world, but we are not of the world. And so that whole first chunk of scriptures is gonna be for that purpose. Say, I'm not of this world.
SPEAKER_02I'm not of this world.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so let's get to it. Let's turn to our first verse, which is John 15, verse 19. Amen. I was looking around for my Bible. You may wonder, well, how can you not see this big old Bible? Got Bible, got message, got hymn books. I was like, I know I have it somewhere. Amen. John 15, verse 19. And when you have it, say I'm in the world, but not of the world.
SPEAKER_02I'm in the world, but not of the world.
SPEAKER_00Amen. And when we say say amen, what you're saying is amen. I agree it is so. Amen. Okay, John 15, verse 19. And it reads like this it says, if ye were of the world, and this is Jesus talking, okay, so we know we can believe what he's saying, amen. But we can believe all these words, because all these words is written by God through man to us, amen. Verse 19, John 15, 19. If ye were of the world, follow along, please. The world would love his own. But because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. So are we surprised when the world does not like us? No, we're not. We're not of this world. Turn with me to the next verse. John 17, 13 through 18. And when you have it and you're ready to look at the words as I read them word for word, amen, following along, say amen. John 13, John 17, verses 13 through 18. And it says this, and now I come, and now come I to thee. This is also Jesus speaking, and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves. God wants us to be joyous. We need to know we're not of this world in order to have the joy of the Lord fulfilled in us, to make him fully joyous, to make him fully happy. Verse 13 again, and now come I to thee, and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves. Verse 14, I have given them thy word, talking about God's word. He's praying to God, one of the most important prayers before he left. Hallelujah. I have given them thy word, and the world have hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 15, I pray not that they should that thou shouldest take them out of the world. God saying, Don't remove them, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. Amen. Amen. Amen. Verse 16. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy truth. Thy word is truth. Amen. So we want to be sanctified. We're reading this Bible. Say, I love my Bible.
SPEAKER_02I love my Bible, say I love the Word. I love the Word.
SPEAKER_00And we're joint, we're connected with Jesus. Jesus Himself in verse 16 says, They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Say, I'm not of this world, I am not of this world, and I'm in good company.
SPEAKER_02And I'm in good company.
SPEAKER_00Turn with me to Romans 12, one and two. Romans 12, one and two. It says this. It says, I beseech.
SPEAKER_02I beseech.
SPEAKER_00Okay, that means beg, I'm begging you, please, baby. Please listen to me, please. Get this. I beseech you, therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice. Holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. Now we don't go up and kill a bunch of calves and have the blood run down, and here's your sacrifice. So we don't really get what sacrifice means. Sacrifice to us is like, oh, I'm sacrificing, I don't get to do what I want to do. That's very much in line with this. That is the sacrifice of how it looks. But to get the magnitude, when you sacrifice something, you usually took your best of something, your favorite cow, your favorite sheep, the one that would bring in the most money, the prize one, and I sacrificed it to God, and I knew it cost something because it was killed, it was bloody, it was dead. That is a living sacrifice that I can talk, I can breathe, I can move my hands, but their life that I choose to live is not my own calling. It is what God desires because my own selfishness is dead, and what is alive is the new creation, the born-again creation. Lord, not my life, but your life. The same person who gives up his life will save it, and those who try to save their life will lose it. Say, I am a living sacrifice. The old me is dead, and I'm alive in Christ. Amen. Amen. Verse, oh, holy acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. Romans 12, 2, and be not conform to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. When you take some kind of jello, gelatin, and you put in a star-shaped thing and you pull it out, it jiggles in the shape of a star. If you put in the moon, the shape of a moon, that we are not conform to this world, we're not in the world, and all of a sudden we come out jiggling, looking like the world. No, we are not conform to this world. We are in the world, but not of the world. We become transformed by renewing our mind and making it new again, again, and again. I'm pouring in the word every day so that my mind can be new every day. I'm singing gospel songs every day so that my mind can keep on thinking about God every day. Is this clear? Amen. Hallelujah, hallelujah. Turn with me to our next verse, 2nd Corinthians 6, 14 through 18. And when you have it, say, I am not of this world. 2nd Corinthians 6, verses 14 through 18.
SPEAKER_02I am not of this world, which man, not of this world.
SPEAKER_00Amen. Amen. This word should be given good to you. Your spirit should be like, Yes, I'm already feeling a little bit better. Are you feeling a little bit better? Say amen. All right, 2nd Corinthians 6, 14 through 18. And it says this be not unequally yoked together with unbelievers. So a yoke was two oxen, and they put it an oxen on the same bar that connected them so they could go around and they could beat out the grain, okay? They had to go at the same pace, or else one would yank one back and one would fight with the other. Your work would not get done. They had to be equally yoked. You should not be equally yoked with sinners in the world. If your best, best friend, when you go to everybody, it's just being nothing but garbage, garbage in, garbage out. Amen. Let's keep reading. Verse 14. It says this be oh, 2 Corinthians 6.14, be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers? For what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? In what communion hath light with darkness? In what concord hath Christ with Belial? That's the devil, or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? 2 Corinthians 6, 16. And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For ye are the temple of the living God. As God has said, I will dwell in them and walk in them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore, come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing, and I will receive you, and will be a father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. Come out from among them. What does that mean? Well, God, you called us to be in the world and not of the world, and go into the places all over the place and spread the gospel and shine our light. Then how do we come out from among them? That means that in my life, you will see me walking with everybody. You see me at the grocery store, you will see me at the pool. You'll see me uh to the movies, saying hi to people, shine my light. People, uh, and inner this is how God works. I was at the pool the other day, and then uh a couple came in and I was like, oh, let's move over. Do you mind if I share your lanes with that couple could be together? Two days later, that couple said, they're waving at me from across the pool. It doesn't take a lot to shine our light. We're supposed to interact with people. But what you won't find me at, you won't find me at any kind of seances. You won't find me at the club all night. You won't find me in the drug house, you won't find me doing those things which are bad to my soul. Is that clear that you can interact, you can be friendly? Oh, I have a very full life, but I'm not going to be step in step in those dark places that I know are harmful to my soul and my walk. Amen. Is that clear, college students and high school students and parents and children? Amen. Hallelujah, hallelujah. All adults, even if you're not parents, we know that we are walking as examples for these children. Amen. Let's turn to the next scripture. Is this good, y'all? Amen. Galatians 1, 2 through 5. Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians. Those that have been with hundredfold ministry know that if it's any of those four, you're gonna hear that phrase because that's how I keep straight where they are. Amen. All right. Galatians chapter 1, verse 2 through 5. And when you have it, say God is holy.
SPEAKER_02God is holy, amen.
SPEAKER_00Galatians 2, 1 through 5. God is holy. Galatians 2, 1 through 5. Oh, wait a minute. Did I get that right? Oh, Galatians chapter 1. Thank you, verses 2 through 5. Galatians chapter 1, verse 2. And all the brethren which are with me unto the churches of Galatia. Grace be to you and peace from God the Father and from our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world. Everybody say, I'm delivered. I am delivered according to the will of God and our Father. If you were here early in the service, we kept saying, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, because it's the only way to God. That God wants us from this evil word world delivered from it. And we do that through accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Amen. Grace in verse 3. Grace be to you in peace from God the Father and from our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world according to the will of God and our Father, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. We sing so many songs about the glory of God for your glory. Oh, how wondrous! Oh, how glorious. Glory to your name. When we walk in this world holy away from the evil, because we're already free, so we don't have to do it. You you know you can talk to your sin. If you're tempted by something, you can just say, in Jesus' name, I shall worship the Lord God Almighty, and Him only will I serve. I don't have to do this evil. I don't care if it's some overthinking, some grudge, some temptation to sin, some oh, I'm so just attracted to this person. I shouldn't be. I want to take this thing, even though I haven't paid for it, whatever it may be. Speak to it. I don't have to go down this track. God has freed me from this sin by the blood of Jesus. When we are determined to walk holy, we bring glory to God.
SPEAKER_02That's right.
SPEAKER_00It's God's will. Amen. Let us keep reading. Turn with me to Ephesians 4, 20 through 24. And when you have it, say I'm not of this world.
SPEAKER_02I am not of this world. I am not of this world.
SPEAKER_00Ephesians 4, 20 through 24. God bless you, everybody online. I feel the love. Hallelujah. I pray this word is blessing your soul. Amen. And on the podcast, too, shout out to you. Ephesians in love. Love to all. Ephesians 4, verse 20. And I'm going to read it actually in the message first so that we can have a real clear understanding of what the King James Version is reading, because the beginning participle uh can sometimes be confusing. Okay, so let me get that. Ephesians 4. Chapter 20 in the verse 20 in the message Bible. Okay, I'm not of this world. Ephesians 4, 20 through 24. But that's no life for you. You learned Christ. My assumption is that you have paid careful attention to him, being well instructed in the truth, precisely as we have it in Jesus. Since then, we do not have the excuse of ignorance. Everything, and I do mean everything, connected with that old way of life has to go. It's rotting through and through. Get rid of it. And then take on an entirely new way of life. A God-fashioned life, a life renewed from the inside and working itself into your conduct as God accurately reproduces his character in you. Amen. Let's read in the King James. Ephesians 4, 20 through 24 says, But ye have not so learned Christ. Verse 21: if so be that ye have heard him and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus, that ye put off concerning the former conversation, the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lust, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind. And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Say the old man is gone. Amen. Turn with me to Colossians 3, 1 through 4. Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, Amen. Colossians chapter 3, 1 through 4. When you have it, say Amen. Colossians 3, 1 through 4 says this. I confess Jesus is my Lord and Savior, because with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto the salvation. I've said it aloud, I belong to Christ. I'm alive. If that's you. Amen. Let's read it. Verse 3, Colossians 3, verse 1. If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above. Where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things of the earth. Did he set your attention? He said your affection. That means knowledge with emotion. That you love the things of Christ. You love the things of God. You love high heavenly things. It's not that, oh yes, I agree, but I'm really passionate about the things of this earth. You never want to be able to, oh, I can barely make it peep for God, but I can scream for the football players. Does that make sense?
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00Because then you take that thing which is not unholy and make it unholy because you've become more passionate for the things of the world than the things of God, and then it becomes sin. Say, I will keep my passion on God.
SPEAKER_02I will keep my passion on God.
SPEAKER_00And the rest of the things I will keep in its proper place.
SPEAKER_02I will keep in its proper place.
SPEAKER_00Hallelujah, God is so pleased. Let's keep reading. Verse 2 again. Set your of Colossians 3, verse 2, set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. Amen.
SPEAKER_01Amen.
SPEAKER_00Amen. Amen. And verse 4 says this when Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall we also appear with him in glory. You all, it's not easy to live this life of not of not walking with the world. That we're in the world and not of the world. And surrounded by it. So every day you have to say, Lord God, clean me up from what I just went through. We see stuff, it gets in, Lord God, clean it up. But we're not doing it for nothing. We have a hope in Christ. Jesus is coming back. And when he comes back, we will be glorious. We will be with him in glory and this life of perfecting practice. Oh God, I just want to worship you and serve you. We'll get to be in heaven and oh, how easy and how sweet it will be. Amen. Let's keep reading. Turn with me to 1 Peter chapter 2 verses 11 through 12. 1 Peter chapter 2 verses 11 and 12. And we're gonna read it in all three versions, starting with the King James Version. 1 Peter 2, 11 and 12 says this. Thank you, God, for your word. Thank you for speaking to us, Lord God. It says, Dearly beloved, dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from the fleshly lust which war against the soul. Why would we do things that tear us apart? It's not for our good. Verse 12, having your conversation honest among the Gentiles, that whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation, in the day of his grace, and the day he comes back for the church, that some of these by your very walk will be saved. Yes, they accuse you now, and oh, you Christians think you're this and that and whatever, but keep on walking for God. Your light, your love will overcome them. Amen. Let's read it next in the amplified version. Ephesian oh, 1 Peter 2, 11 and 12 in the Amplified Version says this. It says, Beloved, I urge you as aliens and strangers in this world to abstain from the central urges, those dishonorable desires that wage war against the soul. It doesn't just tear you up with guilt, it goes to the very nature, the core of who you are, the parts unseen, your very soul. Verse 12, keep your behavior excellent among the unsaved Gentiles. Conduct yourself honorably with graciousness and integrity, so that for whatever reason they may slander you as evildoers, yet by observing your good deeds, they may instead come to glorify God in the day of visitation when he looks upon them with mercy. And finally, in the message Bible, 1 Peter 2, 11 and 12. Friends, this world is not your home. Everybody say, This is not my home.
SPEAKER_02This is not my home.
SPEAKER_00I say, I'm heaven-bound.
SPEAKER_02I am heaven-bound.
SPEAKER_00Friends, this world is not your home. So don't make yourself cozy in it. Don't indulge in your ego at the expense of your soul. Live an exemplary life in your neighborhood so that your actions will refute their prejudices. Then they'll be won over to God's side and be there to join in the celebration when He arrives. Living this life, being in the world and not of the world, will save the very soul of the ones you love the most. Even the ones you don't like. The evil ones, the clear Gentiles. Oh, they don't have a hope. Keep on living the life of God. Keep speaking about God's goodness. The true love. Be in the world and not of the world. Be so strikingly not distracted by the news and what's going on that people have to say, What do you have? And say, My attention's on Jesus because He has it. Amen. Turn with me to first John 2 15 through 17. And when you have it and you're able to stand, stand up and say, I love God. I love God. Hallelujah. So that's a refresher because remember, we're only halfway through this word. Well, a little over halfway, but you know what I mean. Okay, so listen. 1 John 2 15 through 17. Oh, and it's in the message Bible. I was all ready to read it from here. Okay. 1 John 2, 15 through 17 in the message Bible. And it says this. I love you all. Amen. 1 John 2, 15 through 17. It says, Don't love the world's ways. Don't love the world's goods. Love of the world squeezes out love for the Father. Practically everything that goes on in the world, wanting your own way, wanting everything for yourself, wanting to appear important, has nothing to do with the Father. It just isolates you from Him. The world and all it's wanting, wanting, wanting, is on the way out. But whoever does what God wants is set for eternity. Set for eternity. We're in the world, but not of the world. What does it mean to be of something? I want to share some of these definitions with you. The phrase to be of generally means to possess, provide, or belong to a certain quality or category. Depending on the noun that follows, it effectively translates to having, featuring, or generating that characteristic. Think of it as an origin or nature. Sometimes be of refers to where something comes from or what it consists of. Like you originate from a person's family or a certain location. So we're not of, we're not made up of this world. Sometimes it's a certain category to be of age or sound mind. Sometimes the characteristic to be of use, of help, of importance. We are not of the world. That is not our category. That's not what we're made of. So if we're not made of the world, what are we of? We are of God. Believe it or not, we're just getting to the main verse which says, which is first John 4 4. I won't have you turn to it because I'm going to have you turn to it in a minute. But it says, Ye are of God, little children. How do we know that we are of God? I tell you, we've already touched on some of those verses already, but turn with me to John 3.7. In this, Jesus is talking right before our classic Christian scripture. For God so loved the world that gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. That is John 3.16, but we're looking at John 3, verse 7. Saint John, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John. And Jesus is talking, and he gives the most valuable declaration to my life. Hallelujah. John 3 verse 7 says this. It says, Marvel not that I said unto thee, ye must be born again. Oh, you have to. Don't be amazed, don't be surprised, don't be shocked that Jesus says, You must be born again. How can you believe that only those who come, Jesus will see God and everybody else will make it? Because my Bible says so. Jesus told it to me, and I say, Yes, Lord, and I believe the word of God. Say, I must be born again.
SPEAKER_02I must be born again.
SPEAKER_00So knowing that you're born again, you're no longer of this world because we are originally born into the flesh. Sin passed down from Adam and Eve, born from the sin, it comes with us. But when we are born again, we're no longer that creature. We are a new creation. That those who have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior is now made new, and we are of God. Say, I am of God.
SPEAKER_02I am of God.
SPEAKER_00Turn with me to First Peter 2, 9 and 10. When you have it, say I belong to God.
SPEAKER_02I belong to God. I belong to God.
SPEAKER_00First Peter chapter 2, 9 and 10. Says this. Little bitty pages. Okay. Says this. But ye are a chosen generation. I'm speaking to you every man, boy, girl, lady, woman, listen. But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood. I hope that makes your shoulders go back a little. You stand up taller. Amen. A royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people, that ye should show forth the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light, which in time presence were not a people, but are now the people of God, which have not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. That we were guilty on our way to hell, the destined to it, deserved it. And Jesus says, Not so. This one's covered by my blood. This one has humbled themselves enough to say, Lord, save me. That God, I want your life. I'm in this world, but I'm not of this world. I'm of you. You are royal. You are called out. No matter how much you're thrown into, I don't know this situation. I haven't been there before. I don't care if it's college or new phases in life or going from one community to the next. You have to remember whose you are. You belong to God. God says, You are mine, not just beloved him, you are of him. Oh, now I am made up of God. That he is in me, he guides me. I'm his. Amen. Turn with me to one we've already looked at. Second Corinthians six, sixteen through eighteen. Second Corinthians six, sixteen through eighteen. When you have it, say amen. Say, I am of God.
SPEAKER_02I am of God.
SPEAKER_00Amen. Amen. Amen. Glory, hallelujah, glory, hallelujah. Thank you, Lord Jesus. Thank you, Lord God. Thank you, God. This is me getting out the praises so I can continue on. But I feel like shouting, hallelujah. Thank you, Jesus. Second Corinthians 6, 16 through 18 says this. Thank you, God. Wherefore, henceforth, oops, sorry, I went to the other chapter. Amen. Says this. And what agreement had the temple of God with idols? For ye are the temple of the living God. You are the word of God. Tells us that God is in us.
unknownYes.
SPEAKER_00That his spirit, the Holy Spirit, He comforts us, He speaks to us. We won't live any other kind of way because God is with us. That when people see our light, we're not so conceited to say, Oh, I'm just so smiling and bright, and they like me. No, they are seeing God and be careful with how you present Him to others. Amen. And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For ye are the temple of the living God, as God has said, I will dwell in them and walk in them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore, come out from among them and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing, and I will receive you. God Himself, Brother Noah, God Himself says, I will receive you, and will be a father unto you, Brother Stephen, Minister Daniel, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, Pastor Hill, Sister Elizabeth, Minister Cheryl, all those on the line that I can't see right now. And ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. We will always, always have God, our Father, as our Father. He loves us. We're his children. Oh, how good it is to belong to God. Do you know all of that teaching? All of that teaching was just so that we could hear that we are of Him. And we have the victory. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. God says, I want to tell them this morning that they are of me. That they're not guilty, they're not of this world, and that they have the victory, but they cannot hear it until they really get that. Oh wait, I don't have this world stank upon me. I am not of the world. I have to see it, I have to hear it, I have to hear the curse words, I have to hear the wrong thinking, but I'm not of them. That's not me. I belong to God. Are you ready to hear that message? Turn with me to first John 4, verse 4. And when we have it, say I am of God.
SPEAKER_02I am of God.
SPEAKER_00Let us read it together. When you have it, say I am of God. Okay, let's read. Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. Ye are of God, little children. I don't care if you're 99, 120, 1, 2, 17, you name it. Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. What does it mean to overcome? God is all powerful, knowledgeable. We are not ignorant of the devil's devices. We know that sometimes it can be hard seeming just to maneuver down here when the world is so different from us. But let me read you the definition of overcome so you can hold your head up high and walk victorious. To overcome the means to successfully defeat, master, or navigate through a set of challenges, obstacles, or opposing forces. It implies conquering a difficult situation and recovering from something that once held you back. Core means and context says, depending on the context of your sentence, them can refer to several different types of obstacles, problems and challenges, enemies and opponents. That listen, God has given you everything that pertains to life and godliness. You have already won and overcome the navigation through this world. Then he said, Oh, if I'm supposed to be truthful, Pastor, the more I get closer to Jesus, sometimes the harder it is to navigate this world, and that in itself makes me timid. But God says, Don't be timid, be bold. That yes, you get close to me a little bit. Yes, it can be difficult, but the more you get into me, the more I show you that you have the victory, that you have love. Love, love overcomes all. Amen.
SPEAKER_02Amen.
SPEAKER_00Say, ye are of God, little children.
SPEAKER_02Ye are of God, little children.
SPEAKER_00And have overcome them.
SPEAKER_02And have overcome them.
SPEAKER_00Say, I can navigate this world.
SPEAKER_02I can navigate this world.
SPEAKER_00And I've already conquered the enemy.
SPEAKER_02And I've already conquered the enemy.
SPEAKER_00Let's read the whole chapter, starting at verse uh one. First John 4, chapter 4, and this is our last passage. Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God, because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God. Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God. And every spirit that confesses not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of Antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come and even now already is in the world. Ye are of God little children and have overcome them, because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. I don't want to see y'all walking around here afraid. I want y'all to walk victorious. Everybody say, Ye are of God little children, you are of God and have overcome them. First John 4, chapter 5. They are of the world. Therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God. He that knoweth God heareth us. He that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth and the spirit of error. So if someone's not listening, that doesn't mean you're wrong. That means they are wrong. Amen. If someone is spewing a whole bunch of junk, we don't listen to the world. Blessed Psalm 1.1, blessed are they that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight, what we love, is in the law of the Lord. We love the word, the word of God. Who are you listening to? How many of your hours, what percentage of your day, given that you are listening to someone, is it coming from God? Christian music, Christian words, worship, or is it coming from the world? Make sure you check that balance and don't let it get off kilter. Amen. Verse 7, beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God, and everyone that loveth is born of God and knoweth God. Say, ye are of God, little children.
SPEAKER_02Ye are of God, little children.
SPEAKER_00And have overcome them. Verse 8. He that loveth not knoweth not God, for God is love. And this was manifested the love of God towards us, because that God sent his only begotten son into the world that we might live through him. 1 John 4 10. Hearing his love, not that we love God, but that he loved us and sent his son to be the propitiation for our sins. The payment that on the cross, that great love story was for love for us. And if we are to overcome and fulfill the joy of Jesus, like we talked about before, we must love one another. Say, I overcome by love. I overcome by love. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. No man has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. Hereby know we that we dwell in him and he in us because he has given us of his spirit. If you're worried, if you're like, God, I don't know what to do in this situation. Oh, this whole thing is coming up, and I don't even know how to maneuver it. I challenge you to believe that the love of God is the answer. That if you walk by his spirit and say, by your spirit, God help me to love, he's given us the answer. Say, ye are of God, little children. Ye are of God, little children. And have overcome them.
SPEAKER_02And have overcome them.
SPEAKER_001 John 4 14. And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent his son to be the savior of the world. Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he and God. Then Jesus tell us we must be born again. 1 John 4 16. And we have known and believed the love that God has to us. Say it five times with me. God is love. God is love. God is love. God is love. God is love. Everybody loves to be in love. Oh, love makes you feel so great. That's why the devil works so hard over time. He's mad at you. You're not measuring up. You should be mad. The devil is a liar.
SPEAKER_02Yes, he is.
SPEAKER_00God loves you. God loves you. He wants you smiling and happy. He accepts you. When he tells you to do better, it's for our good. He's the embrace that we need. He gives us rest, breathes, stop working so hard. Fall into his loving arms. God is love, 1 John 4, 16. And he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment. Because as he is, so are we in this world. Didn't I tell you we represent God? People are looking to you. You don't have a right to have a grumpy face. You don't have a right to not be friendly. You don't have a right to be like, ooh, I don't like people, I don't like children, I don't like them. God forbid. That you love and like everybody so that your eyes can be the yes, someone needs to see the very love of God. Say, I will show forth the love of God.
SPEAKER_02I will show forth the love of God in Jesus' name.
SPEAKER_00There is no fear in love, but perfect love casteth out fear, because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. We love him because he first loved us. If a man say, I love God and hateth his brother, he is a liar. For he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he have not seen?
SPEAKER_02Say ye are of God little children, ye are of God little children, and have overcome them. And have overcome them.
SPEAKER_001 John 4 21. And this is the commandment have we from him that he who loveth God loveth his brother also. That so many times we're waiting on God. But how many times is God waiting for us? And are you ready to live this victorious life? Yeah of God little children have overcome them. At your love, not from yourself. The love that comes from the Spirit of God has given us all the power and the ability to love one another. That's your love for the stranger. For those that don't look like you, for those that look exactly like you, your brother, your sister, your family. Your love is the light that God wants to shine. That our joy will be fulfilled when we start living victoriously through the love of God. He loves us. We have the superpower of love that comes through his son Jesus and his Holy Spirit living with us. That we're never alone and we're always comforted. But only those who have accepted Jesus Christ has this love. God's overwhelming love. If you're not saved, he's already calling for you. He loves you. Will you receive his love to become a Christian today? Will you ask Jesus to live in your heart? If you're ready, I want you to repeat the prayer with me, accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Amen. Let us bow ahead.
SPEAKER_02Dear Lord God, I know that I'm a sinner. I know that I'm a sinner.
SPEAKER_00And I'm sorry for my sins.
SPEAKER_02And I'm sorry for my sins.
SPEAKER_00I repent, Lord.
SPEAKER_02I repent, Lord.
SPEAKER_00I give up this old life.
SPEAKER_02I give up this old life.
SPEAKER_00And I want the life you have for me.
SPEAKER_02And I want the life you have for me.
SPEAKER_00I confess Jesus.
SPEAKER_02I confess Jesus as my Lord and Savior. As my Lord and Savior.
SPEAKER_00I confess that Jesus died on the cross for my sins.
SPEAKER_02Died on the cross for my sins.
SPEAKER_00And on the third day, He rose again. He is God. I ask you, God. In Jesus' name. Live in my heart. Make me born again. I declare. I declare. I am saved. In Jesus' name. Amen. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. If you pray that prayer with us, we want to know about it. We want to hear those testimonies. If you wanted to pray that prayer and you have questions, please reach out. We love to pray for you. We love to answer questions. We love you so much.
