This week our hosts sit down with Officer JJ, one of our most tenured officers at the PD.    JJ grew up in Miami, Florida.  After high school, he went to college in Dodge City, Kansas, where he played football and earned his bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. 

After college, he joined Grand Prairie PD where he has worked now for over 33 years!  He started in patrol for 5 years where he was on SWAT and a Field Training Officer (FTO).  He then went to investigations in the Gang Unit for 7 years.  He then transitioned to the VICE Unit where he worked another 8 years.  After about 20 years of service, he went back to patrol where he has been for around 13 years now (again).  He is currently a Field Training Officer (FTO) as well. 

JJ currently serves as the President of the Grand Prairie Police Association, a position he has held for the last 11 years. 

He has been married for 28 years and has a daughter.  His joy is his three awesome grandkids though!  He also enjoys getting away to go hunt when he can get away.    Let's dig into it!
