His father was a firefighter and that is what he wanted to be growing up. Thankfully he came to his senses and became a cop instead! We are lucky to have him as he has nearly earned his Texan card....almost.

This week our hosts sit down with Luis. He is from Mexico and came to the US as a kid when he was around 3 years old. Luis graduated from high school in a small town south of Houston and then went to Sam Houston State University. He then worked in TDCJ corrections for a few years. Right after he got his US citizenship, he applied and came to GPPD as a new police officer and has been with us for 4 years. He works patrol and is also involved in the Unidos program. In his spare time, he does jiu-jitsu where he has competed a few times, even beating up our host Nate a few times!

This week our hosts sit down with Bryan. He is from Arkansas and got to Texas as soon he could. He grew up wanting to make video games or become a cop. While he became a cop, he still likes video games! He came and took the police entrance exam and even ran his PT test in church shoes! Smoked the 300m and 1.5 mile run in church shoes and slacks. True story!
He is a School Resource Officer (SRO) for one of our schools where he focuses on giving back to the youth. He is also a part of Hope Farm which focuses on breaking the cycle of fatherlessness (https://hopefarmfw.org).

This week our hosts sit down with Greg. He has been an employee of Grand Prairie since 2017. Greg was a Public Safety Officer prior to becoming a Police Officer with us. He has been a police officer now for 4 years. His dad retired as a LT here at GP and became a Chief of Police at a nearby college for a few years. He didn't intend to follow in his dad's footsteps but here we are!
Greg is on dayshift now after working on nights for a few years. On his time off, Greg enjoys riding motorcycles and hanging out with the family.

This week our hosts sit down with Officer Tiler. Tiler comes to us from Indiana. He followed his wife to Texas and is pretty much a Texan now. He was a teacher and in ministry before becoming a police officer. He shares his story and how his job is his ministry today. He has been a cop with us for about 5 years and had no prior LE experience beforehand. Tiler is in patrol on days where he is impacting lives one day at a time.
