Skull Session 45 with Sean Ingram
Singer of the legendary "mathcore" band Coalesce, Sean Ingram. They were one of the first bands that really impressed me after Deadguy, and I finally got the chance to meet Sean at a Relapse Records showcase at the now dearly departed Coney Island High. Live, they were even more impressive than I imagined, and Sean was very amiable.
I agreed to paint the cover for their Relapse Records debut and took the project so seriously that I bought medical research books at The Strand bookstore in downtown Manhattan, and smashed TVs I found on the street to use their internals as texture in my painting.
One of the few musicians who paid me immediately for the work, Sean was also one of my first tattoo clients and ever since he dissolved the band and started his company Blue Collar Press, I've used his business for all my t-shirts, hats, and hoodies! https://bluecollarpress.com
