Vince Buyback Rumors With Saudi Backing
SPEAKER_02That's right. And uh as a matter of fact, uh these things uh also are perfect if you get one of these, if you win one, uh bring them by one of the uh shows that you'll catch Teddy and I at. As a matter of fact, we'll be uh at SICW Fan Fest, and that'll be in the Missouri area. And I we'll be happy to sign those for a little small price, and uh, they're great for getting autographed. If you look at the design, it's got a little corner where it's got our logo, and the rest of that hat can be filled with uh signatures from some of your favorite superstars. All right, Teddy, this is something that uh I I wanted to bring up, and I'm I would imagine you've probably seen this by now. Uh, we're a little bit behind on this, but I wanted to bring it up. Vince McMahon, according to reports online and rumors, which is probably more what I would call this, but it's worth talking about. Vince McMahon is in active talks to buy back WWE with Saudi Arabia investors. As per reports, Vince McMahon is planning to reacquire the WWE from TKO Group Holdings. Vince McMahon resigned as WWE chairman following a civil lawsuit in January of 2024, and he also reportedly sold over$2 billion worth of TKO shares, reducing his stake in the company. Now, Saudi investors are keen to fund him buying WWE back on a multi-billion dollar expense. Vince McMahon plots making WWE a private company, if that were to happen. Now, there's a lot of bullshit, I'm sure, if not 100% of that is bullshit, but it's it has made its way to the dirt sheets. What I'm wondering, when you think about how TKO has been when it comes to the business model since they've taken over and it's all been a money grab and ratings are now starting to go down, I would think that maybe they would listen to an offer if it's of you know of great value, which Saudi Arabia will be great value, that they would probably never get anywhere else. So let me ask you, Teddy, do you think that's a possibility?
SPEAKER_00Yes, I do. I really think that's a possibility. Uh I think, you know, um which Saudi, the Saudi people, they know where the money is. Okay, Vince knows that. They've been there, they've worked with those guys, you know, with them before, so they know. So I think that's a good investment, you know, for Vince. If he wants to, you know, I think Vince has to come back and let people know, you know, I didn't, I didn't do this. This wasn't my doing. You know what I mean? This is how wrestling is supposed to be. I think he just wants one more big run, you know what I mean? And I don't blame him, you know what I mean, because I think he was pretty much screwed. Um so I think this could happen. And maybe right now, I don't know. I don't want to make no prediction, but you know, the way things are going now, TKO might be kind of sick of it. You know what I mean? They might be wanting to, you know, like, okay, well, we thought we were getting something and we wouldn't. But it ain't so much as that the the product uh of what's being is bad. The product is all right, it's just people that are calling the shots. You know what I mean? The creative part, you know what I mean? I I some of it I just don't understand. You know, I mean I come up in the attitude area, you know what I mean? And that's basically all I know. And I, well, I know more, you know, because I come NWA back in the day. So, you know, so I look at a lot of things now, and it looks like to me it's people are being used whether they're liked or not, not whether they can do the job. So I I I just don't I don't understand it.
SPEAKER_02You know, I want to bring up something uh else that kind of ties into all this. Uh Randall Albertini in Ottawa, Canada had sent a question in last week, and I never got to his question, uh, which was actually uh the thumbnail that week for the show. Uh, but we just had so much great content you guys were filling in with so much stuff that uh we just never got to it. But let me bring this up. Uh like I said, Randall Albertini in Ottawa, Canada. He says The Rock is getting big money from TKO to help WWE, his actions or lack thereof, uh in storylines. Is it hurting WWE's product? Teddy, what do you think?
SPEAKER_00Is he saying the Rock being involved in the storylines hurting him?
SPEAKER_02The fact that he's not involved, that he has he hasn't given anything since you know how how long ago when he first came in.
SPEAKER_00Well, like I said, you know, you see a lot of things. That's another thing I was talking about too. You know, you start seeing something and it starts to go, and next thing you know, it's gone. You know, that that's that's what I'm saying now. That's what I mean. So I don't know. I I it maybe it may hurt him in a little bit because now you get used to seeing him involved. Here's some stuff starting to happen here, and then all of a sudden you don't see him anymore. And what's supposed to be happening ain't happening, so it's just kind of hard to sit back and understand. And as a wrestling fan, you know, that they pretty much, you know, they'll get fed up with it pretty quick.
TKO’s Strategy And Sliding Ratings
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and you know, the sad part is that something happened, and I think everybody kind of picked up on it when when John Cena and The Rock, who started this whole no heel turn for John, when nothing transpired from that, and that's kind of what you were saying a minute ago, you know, you see a story and then it's just gone. Well, that was a story, and it involved what was the rapper's name that was involved in it. There was a singer that was involved in that as well. I can't remember what his name is.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I can't think of his name either. I know who you're talking about.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but maybe he didn't come back either. The rock didn't come back, he didn't come back. The mention of either one of them just fell away. And the rock killed it. Yeah, absolutely. So it makes me wonder how much has The Rock actually given to WWE right now? Maybe he feels like, why? Why even try?
SPEAKER_00Well, that well, I was gonna say this too. Maybe you gotta look at it like this. The Rock is like, well, why should I do anything with these guys? You know what I mean? For what?
SPEAKER_02You know, I mean, because he's not getting anything out of it, they're not listening to him. And I'm that's just my guess. When he came in with Cody Rhodes and did the whole thing outside, and he was whipping Cody's ass in the rain by the bus, that was great stuff. That's the last time I recall seeing anything that felt like that again. And when it comes to uh WrestleMania, what show what what match are you looking forward to, Teddy?
SPEAKER_00I'm not looking forward to any of them.
SPEAKER_02Exactly. I I mean there's geez. I heard somewhere today, maybe it was AJ Styles. Don't don't hold me to this, guys, but I believe it was AJ Styles, that said that WrestleMania has lost its luster over the years. I totally agree with that. It's not the events that it used to be. Um, and I don't know why that is. I'm guessing maybe they cut corners or whatever it may be, but when you're asking fans to pay as much money as you're asking them to pay, you better give them top-notch quality entertainment, don't you think?
SPEAKER_00Well, I I would think so. With I mean, why couldn't you not with the kind of money that you know they're putting in it, you know? And the other thing too, uh a lot of the uh vendor, a lot of these guys were gonna have the closed circuit TV here in the States for people to see it. Then I find out that uh they're telling these guys you can't do that, we'll sue you.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, uh that's complete crap.
SPEAKER_04And it's all about the Used to scream on the cheap seats, tie number wallet, tap style. What? Paid a fortune just to sit in y'all. Same few same three three years long. W W E to my money. The Rock’s Absence And Storyline Drift
SPEAKER_02I am so glad the cameras aren't running to the mics when those are going on because I had like a damn fool. Even my wife will pop her head in here and look at me sideways, like, what are you doing? But I just sing that song as it's playing. So, you know, when we do a live show somewhere, Teddy, I'm gonna play that music for your entrance. No, you're not. I knew that was coming. Look here, we had a lot of folks in the room. So let me get some of the guys in the room real quick. Uh, Dave Crone is with us saying, Hello, gentlemen. Good to see you, Dave. Where did it, David? Of course, Zach's gonna tell us what day this is today, and it's National Popular Covered Net.
SPEAKER_00Well Zach, Zach, I'm gonna tell you right now, you smoking way too much. I'm gonna tell you right now.
SPEAKER_02Ellen is in the room. I understand that you had an opportunity to see her over the weekend.
SPEAKER_00Yes, I did. I had a chance to see her and the young man, and uh, they had a great time sitting there talking with them. And uh, man, what a fun. And I would also say, since, oh wow, look at that right there. Yeah, yeah. It's with the show.
SPEAKER_02That's our buddy, uh, that's our friend Buddy.
SPEAKER_00Uh yeah, buddy, yeah. And uh we had to see him. And like I said, we was uh this weekend at Deep South. Uh Deep South had an outstanding presentation. 40 years of being in the in the professional wrestling business, you know, we celebrated that. And also they they celebrated a tribute to Ivan Koloth. They had a rushing chain match, you know, and it was just outstanding, man. And so Deep South is doing a lot of great things, and so they've asked me to come along and help them out. And so I'm happy to be a part of that too. So uh, guys, get on the road, get on board, get with Deep South.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I wish I could have been there. That was I I love going to Joe's shows, uh, Nick Patrick. And I I didn't have an opportunity this past weekend, but when my schedule and that schedule is this, you know, we can align it right. I'm going over there the same. I'm a great one.
SPEAKER_00Yes, yes, what what a great show they had, man. And the crowd was live. I mean, I mean, and the bill was packed too, man. The attendance was really great.
SPEAKER_02He always has great attendance, and I'm amazed at that sometimes based on the location because it's outside, and you wouldn't, you know, you're in even in the summertime, it may be outside, but you're surrounded by this area that has food and drink, it makes it a great experience. That's why I love Deep South and I love the way he does work with his fans. Uh he's got a great following. Uh yeah, Justin Friedman saying, Player. I'm good, player. And uh look here. Speaking of Nick Patrick, he uh says, Thanks, Teddy, for being a huge part of Legacy Night at DSW. We had an awesome night.

SPEAKER_02Dave Crone, uh, also going back, we were talking about uh Vince McMahon a while ago, and he says, Bring back Vince and Teddy for SmackDown General Manager.
SPEAKER_00Now, isn't that something we were talking me and you before we didn't come on the air? We were just talking about we were on that subject. Wow, isn't that something? Yeah, you that'd be too good for them, Clayoff. They don't want that.
SPEAKER_02Uh let's see. We also have Dave saying that uh TKO equals garbage. I I you know I didn't really have any problems with TKO when they bought the company. I wasn't expecting anything wrong, but when you see how they operate now and you can tell it's not fan-friendly, really, if that makes when it comes to the dollars and cents of the business, because I think you're pushing out your average wrestling fan. You know, people can only afford so much. When you can start asking for some of these exorbitant prices that you're asking for now, come on. I mean, I don't have that kind of money to waste.
WrestleMania’s Fading Luster And Costs
SPEAKER_00I can't bring my kids. Here's the thing, Mac. You know, I know it's news and we got to talk about it, but we're beating a dead horse. Oh, God. Because that's what the world is based on money and power. So it's, you know, and that's just how it's ran, you know. And like I said, I don't I don't know anything about TKO, you know what I mean? I don't have nothing bad or nothing to say about them because I don't know anything about them. But like I said, I wish um all good luck. It's the best. It's good for the boys. Everybody got a job, and you know, with the money they're making now, you know, it's some good paydays. So congratulations to them. So, you know, just God bless everybody. That's all I can say. Uh what's it? We have uh Ramos, uh Travis Scott, that's the name of the guy I was we was thinking about that was involved. Yeah, Travis Scott. Thank you, player.
SPEAKER_02Uh Dave Prone saying, I watch WWE highlights on YouTube, can't sit through the whole thing, bring back Vince. I was saying recently um that I was I was in an interview and they asked me if I watch things like SmackDown and Raw still. I told them I can watch clips, but I cannot, for the life of me, watch the show from start to finish and be entertained. You they can't hold me, they just can't do it. And I I said this because I know why I said it. It was over the weekend I was in uh uh Michigan doing some uh TV tapings with JCW, and I actually find myself watching their show from start to finish. It's entertaining, it draws you from one segment to the other, even if there's a commercial break, you're waiting for it to get over with, so you can see what happens on the other side. It's interesting TV. I don't know why we can't get that from WWE because they're asking for a lot of money, and JCW, they're not raping their fans that way. JCW in a lot of cases, like this past weekend, every one of those shows were free and they were packed, hundreds and hundreds of people everywhere. Uh having a great time. So, you know, I I wish that our big leagues would get back into developing and giving us a show like that.
SPEAKER_00Here's here's the word we need, and and and I think really we do. We need some more good, independent wrestling shows for the community. Yes, people that you know can afford to pay those high prices, and they need to have a wrestling show in their community or in their town that they can go to and enjoy themselves, have a great night, and they can afford. Like I told, I was talking to Nick Patrick, me and him was talking about this. I said, keep doing what you're doing. Because right now, Georgia right here is wide open. There's no territory, I mean nobody running here. And Georgia used to be good. It was a good territory for Indies. So I think what Nick Patrick is doing, and I think he will be the guy to probably end up taking over George, you know, this this Georgia territory here. And he's gonna keep doing what he's doing. So I think that's what needs to be done. I think Louisiana, uh uh all everybody around, you know, that needs to be a good independent show that you can go to, you can afford, take your family and kids, have a good time, and enjoy the matches.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I I think that there's a huge opening because, you know, like WWE no longer does a house show. You know, there are very few of those, if any.
SPEAKER_00Well, that's that's what I that's what I'm saying. Now they they don't even have no house shows for the people to go to. So what why there's it's wide open. Yes, wide open. It's a good chance. And right now, it right now it is not a it is not as hard to get on TV as it used to be. So if you got on TV like Nick, like Deep South, they're gonna get a TV deal too, and they get on TV and local TV right here where you can see the product too, brother. It'll be just like the old days. Okay, it it's a it's a true saying, and I believe it that history repeats itself.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and I do I you know I do see that, Teddy. I really do. I see the independence having a huge opportunity.
SPEAKER_00Uh becoming all you gotta do is do it right, but you got so many of them that just want to be crooks. You know what I mean? Just stop stealing and mistreating people and cutting everybody, you know, trying to cut corners and just do the right thing. You gotta spend money to make money. A lot of these guys they don't want to spend no money, just you know what I'm saying? And that's not the way it's ran.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. If you're serious about developing an independent company that you want to be successful and grow, uh, it's gonna cost you a little bit of money. It's gonna make your, you know, it's gonna be a lot of sweat and blood putting that stuff. But at the end of the day, again, if you all you have to have is a couple of cameras that you can record with and somebody who can edit and you can put a show together, damn near as good as any of the big guys now.
SPEAKER_00Well, look what that the ladies and gentlemen, look what Mac does. Mac does everything, he's the man behind this podcast that me and him do. I don't do nothing, I just show up. Okay, Mac edits, he does everything, makes this thing look like a million dollars. So that's you that you're a perfect example.
SPEAKER_02I I did speak with a uh a few people over the weekend who uh had mentioned our show, Teddy, uh, and one in particular that asked to be a guest on the show. I'll get with you about that. Uh but she was uh she's like, yeah, I'd love to have you know have a chance to get on the show and be able to talk back and forth with Teddy. So I'll tell you about who that is. In the meantime, let's see, I'm gonna get a quote. I know we got more in the room hanging there, but I want to get a couple of questions in from the mailbag as well. Uh she says, uh Tina on Gmail with many top stars in WWE on leave due to injuries. What was the worst injury you ever saw? And have you ever been injured?
SPEAKER_00Uh the worst injury I guess I never saw was uh Orn Hart. Um I was well, I saw a couple. I and I'll bring this up too because I think Darren Drosdal deserves the same, you know what I mean, as Orwin Hart. Yes. Uh I was there when uh I saw uh Darren Drosdall when he landed, you know, spiked his head, uh broke his neck or whatever. Yeah, I mean, just his whole body was paralyzed. I was right there, I watched that. Uh Kansas City, I was there when Owen fell, so I had the opportunity to see that. Uh the injury that I had one time, I think Big Show, I was refereeing. That's when I first went to Ray Prevents around 1998. And I was refereeing, and Big Show grabbed me, and he didn't let me know that he was gonna throw me to the outside. He just grabbed me and just took off with me, you know. And so I didn't have time to grab the second rope to break my paws. So I went out and uh hit my back, and that's been many years ago. But you know, I'm suffering from that right now. I have to go to the pain doctor. You know, I must have did something back then, you know, and just kept working with it because we, you know, guys got hurt back then, you know. You couldn't tell nobody because you know that you that you if you had to stay off, you didn't get paid.
SPEAKER_02Well, you won't just tell somebody like Big Show anyhow.
Mailbag: Injuries, Owen, Droz, Big Show
SPEAKER_00He may smack you twice. Well, but Vince paid attention to it because when I went back to the gorilla position, Vince McMahon stopped me, and his words to me were this he said, Don't you ever let anybody do that to you again? That's what he said to me.
SPEAKER_02And that was because of your character more than anything else, is that correct? No, I was a referee. So that's what I'm saying. As a referee, you gotta have charge. Should he have thrown you out? Is that what Vince was trying to say?
SPEAKER_00Well, Vince was trying to tell me that when somebody's gonna do that to me, they need to let me know, or I, you know what I mean? So when I go to go out, I can help myself. If I'd have grabbed that second rope, then I could have broke my paw and I wouldn't have hurt myself when I landed on my back. So that's what I'm saying. But he in so many words, but that's what his words that he said that to me.

We also have Dave saying uh they need free autographs for prices of the tickets now, uh, but they're so greedy. Uh yeah, yeah. Well, the wrestlers, I'm gonna ask you this, Teddy, because I you know, when you do a convention, you get to sell your autographs and make your money. When you work in WWE, do you make anything extra for signing those autographs over the weekend, or you just get paid a fee to be there and you sign as many as they want you to?
SPEAKER_00They just give you a fee to be there and you give you a two-hour signing. Then after two hours, you go and then they bring somebody else in.
SPEAKER_02I love this comment here. Uh, Justin saying TKO equals broke families. Uh yeah.
SPEAKER_00Well, you know, don't hold TKO responsible. You know what I mean? TKO ain't really the the culprit here. You know what I mean? They got into a business, they bought something that they thought, you know, would maybe work like any other person would do. So, you know, I just I don't blame TKO. You know, we just have to things change. So why they change, who knows?
SPEAKER_02Well, I I do blame the fact that I don't think they're living in reality when it comes to their demo. You know, I I I think they forget that the the average core wrestling fan is middle class and they can't afford a lot of this extra stuff, much less you know, pay thousands of dollars for a ticket.
SPEAKER_00But that's what I'm saying. We're beating a dead horse.
SPEAKER_02They know that that's why I think the possibility of Saudi Arabia and Vince, you know, that rumor that was running around, that's why I think it's a possibility.
SPEAKER_00I I certainly believe it's a possibility. You know what I mean? Yeah, then I'd like to see Vince, you know, get one more run. Just think about this right here. The qu the first thing the guy was saying about break Vince and Teddy back. Just say if I walked out on SmackDown, nobody knew this, you know. You know, we didn't tell anybody and say Michael called somebody coming to him. Well, Teddy, I know everybody here tonight wants to hear you do that famous thing you want, you know, one-on-one with The Undertaker. All right, I'll do it for you. Ladies and gentlemen, it's one-on-one with Vince McMahon. And boy, you hit that music, and here he comes. Yep, yep. But we don't tell anybody, you know. We they think it's I'm gonna say take her, but I hit it and we say Vince.
SPEAKER_02I want to mention too, AJ Styles uh retired from the ring. Uh just the congratulations to him, too.
SPEAKER_00What a what a phenomenal worker, man. Great guy and great attitude. I I love AJ. And he did a, I mean, a tremendous benefit to this business. So congratulations to him, and I wish him all the best.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and he's a Georgia boy, so you know, I I tend to like the guys that come out of Georgia. And and not only that, but you don't hear anybody saying anything bad about AJ Styles. And the only person I can compare him to would be like uh Sting, who nobody ever had a bad thing to say about Sting. They they're both the same. You never hear, you know, him mixed up in anything stupid, anything else. He's just always good old AJ. Yeah. Uh let's see. Uh Justin's saying when I was a kid, a repli uh sorry, when I was a kid, a replica belt was$200. Now they're$600 to$800. That was great.
SPEAKER_00Like I said, things change, man. I I've got speaking of stuff. I was in Walmart today, and I went to get me some chicken salad with cranberries. I love that. And I always bought the big tank, and uh, it was like six dollars. I got went in that a day. I swear it was thirteen dollars. Wow, wow. I always pay six dollars for this, and it was thirteen bucks, man. I'm serious.
SPEAKER_02Hey, people need to realize again, there's not a ton of money being passed around right now. People are hanging on to the job.
SPEAKER_00The people don't even have jobs, they're cutting everything, you know. I guess this is crazy. I I tell you what, ladies and gentlemen, this is my prediction. We're gonna have to turn everything now over to God because man is out of control. So God is gonna fix this for us, and then we'll have a better place to live and a better world. I think what's going on now had to happen, you know, so that people could open their eyes and become educated to the world that we're living in and the people that we're living around.
Fan Prices, Access, And Reality Checks
SPEAKER_02So you know, Teddy, that's the one thing uh when it comes to uh what happens, you know, in our country in the USA. Uh, you've got to watch so many different things to really know what's truly happening around. You've got to see it for yourself. And people don't have that opportunity, uh, really, because you know, most you just don't know what you see is real. Hell, I see so much AI now and videos that I think are real, and then realize, oh, that's not real. I don't believe anything anymore. Uh Dave, but look, I appreciate that comment, my friend, uh saying I love this podcast because you guys are cool, real guys wouldn't miss it. Man, I we appreciate very much.

If I didn't, I told Teddy maybe in private. It's one of the first shows that in a long time I've been able to watch from start to finish and not want to turn it off. You know, and I can't say that about any current wrestling product outside of that. I I don't know anybody who can actually sit, I don't know how people do it if they do, for three hours, three hours of watching SmackDown. It ain't worth two hours, it's barely worth one hour. And Eddie uh went up and you know, does his finish the frog splash and everything. So, you know, thinking nothing about it. So he came back and we was talking about it and just, you know, just talking. I said, Yeah, I said, only thing I thought, Eddie, you know, I said, You're not frog splash. I said, I thought you just stayed just a little bit too long. You know, you usually go up, give them the deal, and come, you know. I said, but you just a little, and he took that so serious, you know. But I'm just shooting oh, you're right, Teddy. You're right. I felt that. I felt you're right. God damn, you know, and he got hot about it because he felt that I said, Well, I won't tell him nothing else. That's something that minor. If something serious, I will, but I said, I'll never do that again.
SPEAKER_02Well, that shows you the quality of a performer he was, though, that the little things did matter. And that hesitation when you brought it to his attention, he was like, Yeah, you're right.
SPEAKER_00And that's who I learned from people like that. You know what I mean? And that's why you know I get so hot when you do somebody disrespect me and talk to me like I don't know anything about this business. I've been in this business 40-something years. And you're gonna disrespect me and you know, talk to me like I'm I just walked in the door. You know what I mean? So that you know, that's what I'm saying, man. But he was another guy that I had the opportunity to ride with and talk with and learn from. So many pros that I've rode with and learned from. You think I don't know what's going on here?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you know, so sometimes being uh acting like you're stupid actually is a benefit because people didn't realize that.
SPEAKER_00And that's how I lasted. That's how I lasted because I played like I don't I didn't know, you know what I mean? Because you don't ever let them know you know.
