A forty-six year-old Henry Karrer paced the empty Sunday school classroom as he waited for the class to show up. As he crossed in front of the window, a black movement caught his eye. Outside, the church, a cat stalked an unsuspecting bird. Henry rapped on the window Damn cat! and the bird flew off.
The loud entry of many students distracted him from further reflection on the feline. The well-groomed students placed coats in their respective cubby holes, then sat on the floor waiting. Mr. Karrer discussed various parables, simplifying them when appropriate, and elicited responses meant to show understanding. Henry rubbed his chin as he looked out the window, "I don't know, but I am sure it's something which bothers birds too.
