Are you ready to surrender your troubles, doubts, and fears, engaging in an honest conversation about trusting God completely? This episode is a life-rope, pulling you out from the abyss of worry and into the warmth of faith. With references to Proverbs 3, 5, 6, and Isaiah 26, we unveil the power of relentless trust in God's timing, plan, and process. Even when life's currents seem turbulent, remember that He is captain of your ship and has your journey under control.

Our hearts are like canvas—once marked, it's not easy to erase the lines. This episode is for those who've experienced the sting of childhood trauma, and struggled to open their hearts to love and trust again. Alongside our special guest Ana, we uncover the significance of having a pure heart as we navigate life's stormy seas. Embodying God's word in our lives isn't simple, but it's a journey worth taking, starting with a heart that echoes His love.

Change is the only constant in life, and leading with love is the lighthouse guiding our paths. In an age where anger and disappointment often dwarf the power of forgiveness, we discuss the transformational power of a change of heart. With my friend Deja, we highlight how a relationship with God can help in seeking His presence in everything we do. And for those in search of a community to deepen their faith, we extend an invitation to join us at the Light of God Church every Sunday. Unwrap the gift of love, forgiveness, and trust with us, as we navigate this spiritual journey together.

Speaker 1:

I don't do the most but I do a lot. I'ma make a toast cause we still alive. No big. I feel like Pac, I shoot the shot. I'm coming in.

Speaker 2:

Hello, hello, it's Stephanie and you are now listening in to Inside Beauty Inspires, where we motivate, encourage and inspire through biblical principles. Again today, I have in the studio with me Ana. Go ahead, introduce yourself.

Speaker 1:

Hello, it's your girl. It's Hi Hotty here.

Speaker 2:

And I also have another special guest, my sister, my friend Deja. Go ahead and introduce yourself. Well, hello guys. It's me, it's your girl, De, and we are here to talk about the word of God. Man, how does it feel to be back in the studio, Deja?

Speaker 3:

Ah man, it feels amazing. I'm just sitting here like in the beginning was the word.

Speaker 2:

Come on, give it to her. Give it to her Was God and God was the word. Amen.

Speaker 3:

When you start in there teach.

Speaker 2:

I'm so excited, I love it. Well, you know, I want the listeners to understand the importance of trusting in God with all of their heart and all of their mind and all of their soul. That was one of the first scriptures, you know, when we met a long time ago. Now it's been like, you know, we got some longevity here. You know Amen, but you know Proverbs 3, 5, 6, you know how did that help you.

Speaker 3:

you know, within your journey, Well, so let me go back, because that was one of the first scriptures that you gave me Proverbs 3, 5 and 6. And you know I was leaving out the 5 and I was going right into the 6, you know, just lean not to your own understanding and, in all of your ways, acknowledge him. And it was two years later that God was like okay, now let me give you the first part, because I need you to trust in me with your whole heart, and I don't know if y'all know what trust feels like, but it's expecting the unexpected, expecting you to do what you say you'll do. And the only thing I can tell you is his words don't go void. God really is like that. He is who he says he is. So just erase everything that you know, let go of it and let God Amen, amen, amen.

Speaker 2:

And I want to go ahead and get into this read here, but before I do that, ana, I just had Ana to choose a card, right? I love this because you know we're just keeping it a G and we're going with the flow and we're allowing God to use us in a mighty, mighty way. Ana, what card did you just pull?

Speaker 1:

Okay, so you would have to actually know Stephanie to love her. When it comes to her cards, I actually get excited. I used to get scared because they would be so dead on. Now I love it. So the one that I just pulled. One night, the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision do not be afraid, keep on speaking, do not be silent. And that's Acts 18, 9. Wow, I know right. Wow, my mouth literally was like here she goes again.

Speaker 2:

I love it, ana, because, listen, ana called me earlier and she was giving me some words of encouragement and she was telling me about how God was speaking to her, and for her to just pull this card, he's still letting her know that, hey, I'm still in control, right? How do you feel about that?

Speaker 1:

Ana. It's just confirmation. And who doesn't like confirmation? I'm a big confirmation person, because sometimes we are like, is it God or is it our own, our own mind? But when you have the mind of Christ, it's both.

Speaker 2:

Yes, yes, I love it. I love it, so I want to get into this read, okay, it says your choices have consequences. When you're not trusting God, trying to do everything on your own, you become frustrated and confused, not sure whose voice is speaking to you. Conflict arises, not just around you, but an internal conflict. It's costly, being outside of God's will. At the time it may seem harmless, but it's a ripple effect. Regrets kick in. Now you're not sure why you can't hear from God. Why does he seem to be blessing everyone around you but you Pain follows, feeling so far from God that he could never forgive you nor love you for your mistakes, which isn't true at all. It's in your obedience you protect yourself from so much disaster, heartache and frustration.

Speaker 2:

Proverbs three, five and six, which is one of my favorites and data just talked to you guys about it is trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge him and he will make straight paths. Emphasis straight your past, straighten your past. Regardless of how crazy the path that you see that your own seems, when you are walking in obedience and trusting God, he will continue to guide you and bless you. This path is never easy, I can testify. There are roadblocks, setbacks, bumps and so on. But to be in the will of God in the midst of all of his obedience and worth it, and it's worth it. Let me read that again. It says but to be in the will of God in the midst of all of it is obedience and worth it. It's trusting his timing, his plan, his process, not our own. And the scripture that it gives us here is Isaiah 26, verse three and four. To keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you, because he, trusting you, trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, god is everlasting, is an everlasting rock.

Speaker 2:

Isaiah 26, verses three and four. It says God, thank you for always reassuring me that you have everything under control when things happen. And that doesn't seem to make sense, I cling to the truth of knowing you are working everything out for my good. You are such a faithful God who always provides. Just talk about it, guys, because we cannot predict how this happens. We don't know what's going to happen in the future. Our Father does. But why is it such an important piece of the puzzle to lean not into your own understanding in the midst of that storm?

Speaker 1:

First, a simple fact that if you don't have a relationship with God, you're going to go off of your instinct and you're going to go off with lack of knowledge. So you're actually coming from your carnal and our carnal could be anything, your heart that you're going off feelings and feelings. They fluctuate depending on what mood and what day you are. When you're in the Word, it's off of fact, and I just wanted to quickly for the viewers, the listeners. So how can you begin to develop a deeper relationship with God? Here's just a couple One being spend time with Him through prayer and by reading His Word. That will help you build trust.

Speaker 1:

Talk to God everywhere. I'm talking everywhere. I talk to Him in the elevator, in the bathroom, in the bathtub, in the carline, in the grocery store, wherever. Pursue relationships with other Christians. I think that, right, there is man. I get up in the morning and get on the ISI prayer call when I tell you just listening to my other sisters give testimony, yes, yes, yes, worshiping with me. I mean Deja, you get on there and motivate and she starts every morning.

Speaker 3:

Every morning it's hey, hey, hey, hey, it's your girl day.

Speaker 1:

So that man, I mean tell us like Deja, every morning you wake up like that.

Speaker 3:

Well, you know, I have to just thank God for that. You know that he has given me some pieces of Himself I don't know how else to describe it. So you know, she talked about time and I just feel like God is an on-time God.

Speaker 1:

Yes, he is.

Speaker 3:

He might not come when we call Him, but he's going to always be there right on time. And I was able to pick a card too, guys, so let me just go ahead and share it. We all, like she, have gone astray. Come on, deja. Each of us has turned to His own way and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. That is Isaiah 53.6.

Speaker 3:

And so I'm saying okay, god, what are you saying? He Himself bore our sins in His body, on the Christ, so that we might die to sin but live to righteousness, for by His wounds you were healed. So well, what does that mean? Well, that means, if you want to reign with Christ, you two are going to suffer with Him, and we don't always get it right. But my God, the sheep, my sheep, they hear my voice. And what will God do? He will leave the 99 and come back for the one. So, yes, I wake up, because you know God has done so much for me. When I look back over my God footprints, that's who I am. He's carried me. So why would I not want to wake up and seek first His face and give a word of encouragement, when that's what he's built me to do. He's made me happy. I wake up happy.

Speaker 3:

You know and I know I aggravate demons, but it's okay because I like that. He has really given me a pure heart and, you know, joy is mine. That is my portion. Self-control was probably one of the hardest fruits of the Spirit, but I thank God for that too. So I'm just in a place of thanksgiving. I'm actually, you know, just keeping it 1,000. Like she said, we're keeping it a G. I'm coming out of a Job season. You know I've started losing everything around me. But okay, job 42, I see you, I see you. So I want to encourage you, listener, that it doesn't matter what you're going through. Give that thing to God and 42, job 42. I'm speaking it over your life, amen.

Speaker 2:

I love it, deja, because that's the transparency in being who you are. You know I look forward to you when you say, hey, hey, hey, it's your girl day, because that's your signature. And then the beautiful part about it is that you change. You know, your. It was a hard change and people cannot deny that, even when you honor. You know, I think it's a privilege and an honor to be in a studio with these beautiful ladies because they support me in this vision that I have. You know, we wake up every single morning at 6am and we do prayer call with each other, we do Bible studies with each other.

Speaker 2:

It's important to be in fellowship with one another because that's how we grow. You know, you just said it. You know iron sharpens, iron Proverbs, 27, 17 is a real thing and on it you just gave the example of how we need to be around other believers, because you know how are. How else are you going to know? We overcome by the words of our testimony? I've been there, like you said it last week. I can't show you how to lead if I've never been in that position. Right, and then again, like you said, deja, you know you, coming out of a job season, I know what it's like to be in a job season. I don't know what it's like to come out of a job season. He will never leave you enough to shake you. That's why it's important to stand 10 toes down on the word of God.

Speaker 2:

So I pulled a card too, and this is my card and says for the word of God is living and active, sharper than any double edge sword. It penetrates even to dividing souls and spirits, joints and marrow. It judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. It's not Hebrews 412. The reason why I got excited after I read it? Because your heart matters, man. People don't think that their heart matters, you know they don't think that. You know it has to start in the heart. But in order for God to really do the work that he needs, he's going to start right there at your heart.

Speaker 2:

Can you talk about it a little bit, ana? You know being that I've watched you, I've watched the transformation and I'm so and I have to tell you this in front of your face and giving you your flowers on air I'm so proud, I'm so freaking proud of you. I really, really am, because you know you doing the work, you know we and we joke about it all the time. We always joke about it, but it's all love because you know, I see Ana, ana sees me. We see each other for who we both are and we, our heart passions are pretty the same thing with you as well, deja. So I mean I want you guys to talk to the listeners about it, because they don't realize how important it is to get into the Word of God and how it does transform you from the inside out.

Speaker 1:

And it is very important and I think the listeners like what you were saying about trust. Now, how do you know when someone has changed, when someone has gone before God and had a heart? Transplant is basically what it's called. Well, when I came back after being on my sabbatical, I didn't have to tell people that I had spent time with God, the way I spoke, the way I reacted to things that in the past I would have flew off the handle, I would have spoke my mind, I would have offended and not cared. That's the difference. And I knew I was different because I was slow to respond.

Speaker 1:

I am one of those who can. I can talk back so quickly. I will cut you to your knees, but I don't know more and I was proud of that. Like you know how you'd be, like, oh, what's the show? Oh, Wildin' Out. You know I used to love that show. I'd be like I need to be on that show. But I don't want to be of that person anymore. I don't want to be the person that judges or hurts people anymore. I actually feel something when I offend someone and I'm very quick to right my wrong. Take self accountability, let them know I that was not my intention, that is not of God, because that's what. That's what happens when your heart changes. You care?

Speaker 2:

You simply simply Hair that's beautiful, that's such a beautiful way of breaking it down. What about you?

Speaker 3:

danger, because you know so I'm just go ahead and jump in, because you guys are talking about the heart, and that's one thing that you have taught us, teacher, is, you know, love conquers a multitude of sin, but it's about having a pure heart. So you know, when you guys were talking, I was just sitting here. You know I'm just thinking. You know when a baby is formed, you know when God says I knew you before I formed you and your mother's womb, and you know the first thing that you get is a heartbeat. So I think you know, if you just just dissect that and take that apart for a minute, you know God gave you a heart first. He gave your heart before he gave you eyes to see, before he gave you hands to touch Chalk about it before you have a ear to hear.

Speaker 3:

You have a heart, so I do believe it's so important. That's where he starts our bodies off at is with the heart. Then everything else forms around the heart.

Speaker 3:

So I mean, I don't know if that went over your head, but it's your heart. How do you really operate out of your heart? See, because I know a lot of people that can dress up and they make it sound good and look good, but you can feel and see the heart. So you know. You can be telling me you love me, but why don't I really feel that? Or you know, you can be saying all these nice things to me or reading scripture, but you don't, you don't show scripture.

Speaker 3:

So I do believe it is about a pure heart and I just thank God for keeping my heart pure. You know, despite it all and even for you, you know understanding the assignment right. I can't thank God enough for you. You know walking with us, talking with us, making sure that we get it. You know to where we want to get up and call, then we don't want to miss a day. We do know how important it is to seek first the kingdom and be around other believers. Proverbs 27, 17. You have done it. So the same way you are proud of us, I am proud of you for not giving up on us, for still showing up Relentlessly and just understanding your assignment, truly, truly working for God. So I'm happy to be here with the, with the upright heart posture, and I speak. Speak that over all the listeners. You know, get your heart right. I'm creating us a clean heart. Oh God, amen, amen.

Speaker 2:

Man. Listen, that's the most important piece of the puzzle for me, you know, because the Bible tells us, out of our heart comes to the issues of life, and he tells us to guard our hearts. But we have to be open. Your heart has to be open in order for us to receive. And where does that start? A lot of us have childhood trauma. A lot of us been through things in our lives that have Caused us to put those walls up there, because we don't ever want to feel the way that someone's ever made us feel before. You know, I can only speak for myself. I often think about it a lot, because I have feelings too, and you know I my feelings get hurt when I'm trying. I know that God told me, you know what he told me to do. And then when I'm fought against, you know it hurts my feelings because I'm like, oh well, god, how am I supposed to do this? Like, how am I supposed to? You know, and I do, I get sad and I cry about it because you know that's my call. But in the end of the day, your heart has to be penetrated and for it, for it to change, in order for something to happen, it almost has to break. You almost have to be offended in order for him to actually get it out, get it from inside of your heart. You know, if there's any issues that's been lying dormant, you have to go through that, that pain and that pressure, because that's how you're going to Experience his love. You know that flows freely. He says love covers a multitude of sin. You know, and it really truly does.

Speaker 2:

One thing that I can honestly say is that this word transformed me as well. I didn't know that it was going to change me and the aspect that it changed me, but now I'm so devoted to it that I don't know what else to do. You know, I'm devoted to getting up and sitting on his feet and, you know, learning this word and getting in it so that we are Able to be the walking word. People don't see that. People don't see the word walking. They hear people say this, they hear people say that, but do they actually see an example of it?

Speaker 2:

That's what my whole goal is when it comes down to the ladies of eyes side for us to be the walking word. When they look at us, we should be able to speak it and they already know based off of how we're speaking, based off of how we Treat one another, you know, because guess what masks do fall off. That's a real thing. People mask up every single day and I can speak to it because it's a real thing. But in order for us to be walking with the father, he sees all I'ma tell you, when he was just like, um, how did it change? Or how do I know? It's the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of truth will come and let you know what, what? That's a real thing. Jesus died on the cross and rose on the third, great third day with all powers in his hand, and he gave those his Holy Spirit, the Spirit of all truth. So you're gonna be able to feel things when you have the Spirit of God in you, before a person speaks anything. But how? Because you're devoted to the word.

Speaker 1:

That's exactly right. And another thing I want to be back on is triggers. I used to take triggers as something like oh, I gotta get back at them because they just triggered something in me. When I changed my mindset and I let God work through me, through my heart, I didn't take triggers offensive anymore. Instead, I was like, okay, well, why did it bother me? And I looked at myself and was like, okay, well, that's something I need to work on. And let me tell you something God does not give us something that we cannot handle.

Speaker 2:

Whatever?

Speaker 1:

he asks of us, we are capable of doing. Whatever he asks us to drop, we're capable of doing. He is never going to give us an assignment that he does not believe that we cannot fulfill. It just has to start with your mindset. You have to be in alignment, you have to be in the Word.

Speaker 3:

Well, I'll just go back to something that you ladies had said last week, when you were talking about Ephesians putting on the full armor, and that is not to protect me from evil, but that is to protect me from having evil thoughts. My God, I mean that set me free on a whole another level. So, like even right now, when I think about going through a pruning season or going through a Job season. Well, sometimes we do. We have to be still, and God is gonna make sure that you're with him, no matter what.

Speaker 3:

You know, because you can be in this world, but what you're not gonna be is of this world, okay, and so I just I thank God for that. We have to thank him for the up and we have to thank him for the down, and it doesn't matter whether you're up or down in between on your side, he wants to know that you're gonna keep him in all things. That is talking about Proverbs 3, 5, and 6, because, at the end of the day, what type of understanding do you have? What is your mind fixed on? Is your mind fixed on things that are of above, or is your mind fixed on the thought of others, how others are viewing you, or do you truly look in the mirror and do you see yourself the way that God sees you? I mean, it's about knowing who you are and who's you are.

Speaker 3:

So I just, I can't say nothing but thank you, god. You left the 99, you came back for the one. I'm able to get it. Understanding, wisdom, discernment, those things come from God and I just thank him for giving those things to me. You know, when we're in a world where you're not seeing any real love and he's saying hey, I want you to go out here and be a lover, a lover of these people, god.

Speaker 2:

Who don't know. You don't love him back, I'll be the first to say what do you want me to do again? Love by enemy that's what he says.

Speaker 2:

Love by enemy they're not loving me back though they're not loving me back, but you know what? That's what he tells us to do, y'all, and it's an important thing. And once you get into the words, you understand it. Because, listen, jesus was a walking offense. Like he offended all of the Pharisees, the sad deacons, all of them he refee. I call them. I know they call Saddudeeds. Okay, guys, I call them sad deacons because they're sad and we chuck the deacons at them.

Speaker 2:

But I'm just saying, I'm just saying this is how he offended everybody, you know, because he came on the scene with a whole different teaching and you know, these were the religious leaders who were offended. We've been in Mark, we've been all over this book, you know. But one thing that I wanted to talk about is something that you said on preparation is everything. When you get into that long place with God, what does it prepare you for? Because when you come out, you're a different person. When you spend that time getting to know him, like, talk to the listeners about that so they can understand what that entails.

Speaker 1:

Well, basically, he has you alone because he doesn't want you to hear anybody else's voice but his. And I had a calling on my life that I was running from. I didn't want to be no evangelist, I wanted to be a celebrity.

Speaker 2:

Y'all, that's so funny.

Speaker 1:

And he took me and was like, okay, I'm gonna make you a celebrity, just not the celebrity you got in mind. But he got me into the word and I had to get in the word. I had to start changing my mindset, because your mindset is then what changes your heart posture. I had to start just like love thy enemy. I didn't understand that either. I was like no, I'm not about to love anyone that calls me names, lies on me, steals from me, beats me, whatever. But when you have a change of heart, it's necessary.

Speaker 1:

I look forward to loving on people that don't even like me. I want to show them hey, I know the world's been cruel to you. I know that you've been hurt. I was a hurt person, I was cruel, but I know that's not who you are. I've always been told you can love somebody and still not like their behavior, their actions. That's all it is. I mean, think about it. Think about one person that you really just don't get along with, someone that really you just hear their name and ugh, you just clench your fist but ask God to speak to you. Think of something positive about that person. Think about why do you give so much energy and thought to that person, because I don't think about things that don't matter to me. So if you're sitting there holding on to something, there must be something in that person you still like that they disappointed you. Anger lots of times is disappointment, yeah yeah, I agree, I totally agree.

Speaker 3:

Well, forgiveness. Forgiveness is for you, absolutely. You'll be out here trying to figure out. You know well what's going on with them and they've moved on with their life. They forgot what they did to you and here you are carrying that stuff around, so forgiveness is for you. Then I just wanna back up something too, and piggyback, because you know, as far as the change, I can't unsee God now. You know, like I started looking for Him in everything.

Speaker 3:

and you know, putting Him in everything, because that's what Proverbs 3, 5, and 6 told me to do. It says acknowledge Him in all my ways. Okay, so I'm gonna acknowledge you, god, in everything this burger that I'm eating, this floor that I'm mopping, if I got to go touch somebody and put my hands on them, or if I got to pray, or I don't know which way I'm going, god, I just got to keep you in it.

Speaker 3:

I'm not getting it right right now, god. But can you help me get it right? So I just learned how to kinda keep Him in everything, and now I can't unsee Him. I can't watch TV and not see God. I can't go outside and hear a bird chirping and not think about how good God is. My God, if he's taking care of the bird, I know he's gonna take care of me. And then it brings me back to my teacher, stephanie, prophetic Stephanie. I call her Moana. I call her Dr Drip too hard. I just started calling her Popcorn this morning cause she about to pop out on y'all but I call her Dr Drip.

Speaker 1:

She made me sick, I call her.

Speaker 3:

Dr Drip y'all, because this woman, this woman of God, I got so close to her, she did a surgery and I didn't even know she had did a surgery on me and I was like, wait, I've changed what happened. You know, I was like that little baby. You know she's coming.

Speaker 2:

she's trying to feed me the baby food and I was spitting it back out, she was like I don't want this.

Speaker 3:

Come talk to me about?

Speaker 2:

no, jesus, I'm a walk.

Speaker 3:

Oh no, you know the little kids that throw stuff back at you. She was one of them.

Speaker 1:

but she already knows how to throw you feel like off the rug rat. That was me, Dr. Drip too hard y'all.

Speaker 3:

She did a heart surgery and she did it with no anesthesia. She did it with no scapula. I don't even know how she did it, but she did it. You know what I?

Speaker 1:

was sitting here thinking because she operated from God and not her carnal. We know Stephanie personally and she has been hurt and there's times when I mean, can you imagine being hurt or not listened to or not validated or not felt like you know what you're talking about and all she wants to do is just to give you a better life, because she knows how great it is when you let God into your world. But she wasn't gonna force herself, but it frustrating just like a teacher. For those of you listeners that are teachers or parents, you know that if your child just listens to you, life will be so much easier. But they wanna do what they wanna do. But Stephanie never wants, pushed us away. She let us figure it out and she just prayed.

Speaker 3:

She didn't condemn us either.

Speaker 1:

You know a lot of people try to serve you, jesus, that condemned, she never ever was judgmental.

Speaker 3:

Amen, but we weren't getting it right.

Speaker 1:

Access denied. Nope, I was for sure some days I was gonna get access to that Right.

Speaker 3:

Let me see, can I call in today?

Speaker 2:

Under somebody else's phone number I would never. I would never utter. You're so funny, but you know what it is. I appreciate that, ladies, and to God be the glory. You know it's because I lead with love. Amen, you know.

Speaker 2:

And when you lead with love, you know that's a whole different ball game, because God is love. And then when you look at the definition of what love is, love is patient, love is kind, it doesn't envy, it doesn't boast and it keeps no records of wrong. And then it tells you what love is not. You know what I'm saying. It tells you what love is and it tells you what love is not. So there's no way for us not to get it. You know, I've been enjoying waking up. I've been joined some of the new members that have come into the prayer call that's helping us elevate to the next levels. I mean, god is doing something amazing and I'm here for it.
