Inside Beauty Inspires
Year Of Promises
Start the year with a reset that actually holds. We open James 1 and get honest about trials, wisdom, and what real maturity looks like when life applies pressure. No sugarcoating—just a clear path from wobbling between faith and fear to walking with endurance and joy. Stephanie welcomes her son Tylan into the studio as we unpack why asking for wisdom beats asking for escape, how double‑mindedness shows up as divided loyalty, and why anchoring in God’s way steadies the soul. You’ll hear practical handles for meditating on Scripture, cultivating discernment, and choosing development over display, even when the crowd rewards performance.
We challenge the cultural script around status and success, contrasting fading achievements with the inward fruit that proves a life rooted in Christ. Expect straight talk on temptation and desire: God doesn’t tempt, but unchecked desires do. Transformation, not behavior hacks, is the only change that lasts. That flows into the power of speech—being quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger—because controlled tongues, compassionate action, and clean living are the marks of pure religion. Hearing without doing is self‑deception; obedience is where faith grows muscle.
Threaded through is a simple refrain worth carrying: prioritize presence over placement. Every good and perfect gift comes from above, and time will tell what’s counterfeit. If you’re ready for a steadier year—anchored, fruitful, and focused—this conversation will help you realign your habits and your hope. Listen, apply one truth today, and watch how endurance begins to change your outcomes. If this resonates, follow the show, share with a friend who needs courage, and leave a review to help more listeners find us.
New, new, new, everything new, new, new, new, new, new, everything new. I'm ready to go.
Speaker 1:Hello, hello, hello. It is Stephanie L. Harrison, and you're now listening in to Inside Beauty Inspires, where we motivate, encourage, and inspire through the word of God. Welcome back. I have missed you guys so very much. Listen, this is not just a space where we talk about scripture. We allow the scripture to talk to us. I want to go ahead and say Happy New Year, Happy New Year, Happy New Year. This is a brand new year. And I believe that God is calling his people into a deeper level of listening and learning and living, not just surface level faith. At the end of the day, it's not about being performative, it's really about being faithful and allowing that faith to be activated through the word of God. And today is a very special day because I'm joined by my son. Tylan is in the studio with me today. And we're going to go through the book of James, chapter one and two. And we're going to release what believe we believe, what we believe that God's word is for 2026. So before we jump in, Tylan, how are you doing?
Speaker 2:I'm doing good. How y'all doing?
Speaker 1:So listen, 2026 is the year, right? Are you ready for this year?
Speaker 2:I am ready for this year. It's already, what, a weekend, and I feel great already.
Speaker 1:Already? Already. I bet you do. God is blowing your mind, right? Yes, ma'am. I heard you've been locking in. Definitely been locking in. Definitely been locking in. Ain't no other way to be, right? Ain't no switching up. Consistent. So, you know, I I want us to know, I want you guys to know that, you know, I'm so proud of my son. You know, he's in college, he's a stretch practitioner, you know, and he's he's he's studying the word each and every day. He's actually going live on Instagram. He's gonna give you all that. You know, so if you want us want some more word from him, some more knowledge, you can follow him. He'll give you guys his information. Um, if you want to do it now, you can give it to him now. Um just if you guys look up Tylan Fowler, just my full name, you'll you'll find me there. I usually go by T Funk, but either or. Amen. Amen. Well, listen, we are going to, you know, do a segment on James 1. And before we get started, I want to go ahead and ask God. You know, I want to go ahead and pray, Heavenly Father, first and foremost, that we want to say thank you for this day. Thank you for life, health, and strength, and thank you for uh being in this building with us. Thank you for your presence, Heavenly Father. Lord, before we jump into this word, God, I ask right now that you pray for our hearts, our minds, give us wisdom, give us understanding, give us clarity to understand what thus says the Lord. Heavenly Father, speak. Your servants are listening. It is in Jesus' mighty and Meshis Name that we ask all of these things. Amen. Amen. In Jesus' name. Amen. Amen. All right, let's talk about this one. James is a pretty good book, Tyler. You know, I asked Tyler to talk to me about, you know, what do you think the people need to hear today? You know, and he's like, you know, Mama, I've been locked in in James. So, you know, Tylen, talk to me a little bit about James before we just jump into James. Why James? James keeps it real with us. James, it's very short, it's very easy to understand, but it's like no barriers. He's gonna tell you how it is, he's gonna give you the method for living, and he's gonna let you know, like, and especially in James 1, he talks about a lot of trials and maturing and doing the word and not just hearing it. So, and as you go into 2026, you want to not expect your life to just go perfectly, like you're gonna have trials. Yes. But James teaches us how to navigate through these trials, and he teaches us how to mature through them. And also he teaches us on how, yes, we're gonna hear the word, but let's not just hear the word, let's be doers of the word too. Not only believe, but follow as well. Hallelujah, Tylen. That's it right there. You know, to me, James starts really strong. You know, he doesn't ease us in. He says trials will come. Um, but they're not meant to break us, they're actually meant to build us, you know. And and it and then James also tells us about endurance, you know. It tells us, you know, it's the importance of pro of maturity. It's the importance of maturity, you know. Um, at your age 19, I look at my son as a very uh wise child. You know, he's a he's a wise young man, is what he is. And so um he's been maturing and he's been allowing the word of God to shape him. And so again, you know, we're gonna jump into this word without further ado. Um, Tom, did you have anything else you want to say before we jump into the word? No, I just want to say I hope the ears are ready to listen and receive. Hearts are ready to receive. Amen. Amen. Well, let's jump into it. So I'm gonna read, I'm gonna read uh James 1. And uh, you know, I know that you got some words that you, I know that you got some, you're gonna give us some intel, right? I already know you're gonna speak to the people on today um concerning this, but we're gonna we're gonna break everything down. So let's jump into this word, okay? Let's jump, let's jump into this word. All right. This letter is from James, a slave of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ. I'm writing to the 12 tribes, Jewish believers scattered abroad. Greetings. Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow. For when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing. If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver for a person with divided loyalty, is unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Their loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do. Believers who are poor have something to boast about, for God has honored them, and those who are rich should boast that God has humbled them. They will fade away like the little flower in the field. The hot sun rises and the grass withers, the little flower droops and falls, and its beauty fades away. In the same way, the rich will fade away with all their achievements. Let's stop at verse 11. Talk about it, Tyler. What you think about chapter 1, verses 1 through 11, straight off the rip. Off the rip, but like I said, he's not sugarcoating nothing. He's letting you know what it is. He starts it off by letting us know. He's like, I love how he says whenever you experience various trials. He doesn't say if. And that's just off of two through four. That's just two through four right there. Right, straight up. Straight up. Off rip, he starts it off good. Well, he, you know, it's you know, he don't sugarcoat anything, you know, when it comes down to the word of God. He, you know, first of all, who is James? James is Jesus' half-brother. Let's just start right there. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know what I'm saying? This is his family, you know what I'm saying? So he's like, hey, this is my brother. And and he's speaking on on God's on crisis agenda, you know, on how to really walk this thing out that we call life. Now, it's about identity and an alignment. Identity and alignment, because a lot of times people don't really know who they are, Ty, and they're still trying to find themselves. And, you know, they don't know that they can ask God for wisdom, and he's like, here you go, you can have that. Give me some more on what you got. So, like basically what you were going into, and I've James is my favorite book. I've read James countless number of times, and whenever I get to verse five, which I've had the card verse five before, uh, now if any of you lack wisdom, he should ask God who gives to all generously and ungrudgingly, and it will be given to you. Amen. Now, if you go back and you're he's James is telling you on how to mature and let the trials endure, it's hard to do that with the human mind, right? Just like who wants to go through trials? Who wants to who wants to have bad moments in their life, right? But when you ask God for wisdom, don't only ask him for wisdom on just life in general, but ask him for wisdom on how you can just be patient, on how you can be like allow that child to end endure and mature you. You know what I'm saying? Yes, like God, give me wisdom to know what you're doing and allow you to do it. That's beautiful, and yes, because here's the thing that we have to understand about our father. He gives generously. He gives generously, and James does not ask for escape, he asks for wisdom. You know, a lot of times people try to abort, most people abort process, you know. They're like, uh, I don't think I can do this. And God is not going to rebuke you for asking. Wisdom is heaven's strategy for earth's trials. We all go through it. So we, you're right, you know, just based off of what you just said. Lord, teach me how to walk through this, not just out of it. You know what I'm saying? Because a lot of times we be like, yeah, I don't know if I'm ready for this. I wasn't anticipating it to be this hard. Not understanding that those trials, those hard times, are the very things that you need to get you to the next level. I look at it like this: there's skill sets, right? And you're asking God for something specific, or you're not in particularly, and you don't know that there's a skill set that you need to acquire what you're asking for. So he's gonna take you through the trials and tribulations to show you if you're ready for that, are you really ready for what you're asking me for? And then I gotta make sure that you're that you're mental, you're that you're mentally aware of the things because you know we we live in a world where you the light, the the the enemy lights appear as an angel of light. Yeah. So you gotta have wisdom in order to know the difference between the two. I agree. And you said something in that which made me think of something we were talking about last, I don't think it was last night, a couple nights ago, when um a lot of people, oh, you said aborting the process. People like to abort the process, and they I said this last night to you. I was like, we need to uh focus on development over display. Absolutely. So development over display means that we just have to sit in whatever it is that God's putting us through. He's gonna talk to us silently. That doesn't mean the entire world needs to know. Well, it's isolation. God, he has a way of just saying, Okay, I need you over here. And so God will put you in isolation for seasons to teach you, to mold you, to train you. You know, um I think it's beautiful when I see you with your friends and I see how you are having Bible studies, like how you are doing with your sister, like this weekend. You guys are going down to the beach, right? North Carolina. Yeah, yeah. Okay, the mountains. I'm sorry, go ahead, talk about it. Oh, we're going to the mountains just for uh a collegiate FCA camp, which PJ lurking because she's definitely a high schooler. Um I know he didn't know. She got in there. They they you know, whatever, whatever. She's going as well. Um and then I start school on Monday. So going down there, I'm just hoping for just a ref restart, a refresh, and just to learn more and make connections and help as many people as well from like learn from a lot of people as well. And I like how it's literally just well, other than free PJ, it's collegiate. So it's people that it's people that I can relate to.
Speaker 3:She's a singer, and she's very smart. Shout out to my peach.
Speaker 1:It's people that I can relate to more, people that's gonna relate to me more. Yeah. And we're all striving for the same thing. And it's just like I'm seeing this generation be on fire. Like, not saying the older generations aren't, but it's something about this generation, they don't want any sugar coating. They want to let know what it is, what it ain't, what I should be doing, what I shouldn't be doing. So I just want to be able to hear back and just have wisdom and like, you know, leave that camp just feeling a lot better going into school for this new semester. I love that, Tyler. And I think that's amazing. That's what I was saying. Like, I think the fact that you're bringing your sister along with, I know you did not just try to shake her face. But I, you know, but I think that's such a beautiful thing. I love their relationship, by the way. Shout out to Pharrell. But and also shout out to Cameron as well. Cameron's, hey, Cameron's been been in this world a little bit more. Can you tell the difference?
Speaker 2:Yeah, yeah, I have.
Speaker 1:Yeah, you know, so again, um, shout out to my children. But Tylen, let's talk about verses six and eight. Faith versus instability, because the scripture says, but when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. You know, double-mindedness is something that a lot of people have, right? And um, you know, that to me, it ain't even to me. That's just doubt. Doubt here is not a questioning, God, it's divided trust. You're you're divided between who you trust. You trust the ways of the world, you trust the ways of God. But most people don't know the ways of God, you know. They don't they don't know that that God has a standard, but the world has a standard too. And most people lean to their own understanding versus God's understanding. Talk about it. Let's talk about it. Uh, I kind of want to add in like meditation within that, because like you said, they don't know the standard if they don't read the standard. If you don't read the Bible, you don't know the standard that God has for your life, right? So it starts with meditation and actually meditating and receiving and reflecting and responding to the words that you're hearing by reading the Bible. Amen. And you have to allow those words to transform you. And a lot of people prioritize, like, if I can see it, that's what it is.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:If I can see it, yeah. But when it comes to the things that they people don't realize the things that you cannot see are the most powerful things. Absolutely. They're probably the like the truest things. The realest thing. You know what I mean? Yes. So once we prioritize faith over sight, which it says that in the about like we all know, walk by faith, not by sight. But are you actually walking by faith and not allowing what your situation looks like to kind of convert how you're gonna move? You know what I'm saying? Yes, yes. Can you look at your situation, see it for what it is, but also in your mind, I have faith that even though I can see this, something else is going on behind the scenes. God is doing something behind the scenes, He's working on an answer for me, and I'm gonna allow him to just do that without any doubt. Because once you doubt, it's like, hmm, you're feeling double-minded in a sense. You can't come to God and ask him for something, but in your head, he's probably not gonna give it to me. You know, that's you know what I mean? You know, I'll make an illustration of what that actually looks like. It looks like one foot in faith and one foot in fear. One foot in faith, one foot in fear. And the result in one foot in faith and one foot in fear is instability in all your ways because it's divided. Think about it. And that's what the world is going through right now because they don't know about the unknown. So in it, and it's like, well, who do I trust? That's when you fall on your knees. That's when you start talking to God. Think about it. Picture a wave is moved by when because it has no anchor. A wave is moved by when because it has no anchor. Now think about what happens when you're anchored. Spirit of the Lord is here. Unsettled faith produces unsettled outcomes. So you gotta really lock in. Like you say, you know, Mama, I've been locked in, I've been locked in. Because God is giving you a different perspective on the way you see things. You know, you had to grow and get to this age. Let's talk about verses 9 through 11. Keener perspective on status. Jam addresses both the poor and the rich. Talk about it, Tyler. And he he addresses both. Um, I want to go to where he says, for the sun rises and together with the scorching wind, dries up the grass, if flower falls off in its beautiful appearance in the same way, the rich person will wither away while pursuing his activities. I had read a book called what's it called? I'm still reading it right now. It's the I Factor. I think it's called the I Factor, right?
Speaker 2:Okay.
Speaker 1:Um and it had gave me a percept a perspective that I kind of always knew myself, but if anyone wouldn't know it, it talks about how the inward appearance is way more valuable than the outward appearance. Just because what's going on the outside, and we think that success is uh these tangible things that we can grasp and that okay, if I have this status, then I'm successful. If I have this amount of money, I'm successful. If I have if I'm graduated from this school, I'm successful, right? Um, and you think that you're a rich person, quote unquote, because you have outward success. Well that's that's the talk about it, son. But it's it it talks about how the Titanic, for example, when I was talking to you, right? About how the Titanic was looked at as this amazing ship, this successful ship, nothing's gonna happen to it. One passenger even quoted, not even God himself could sink this ship, right? Yeah, when you told me that, I was like, wow. Wow, right? That's that's that's insane. Yeah. So yes, they had high expectations for this ship, right? And it still failed. You know what I'm saying? And why is that? Because even outwardly, it looked great, but inwardly, the people who were in the boat, they didn't see what was going on around them to be able to shift. You know what I'm saying? Yes. So it starts on the inward. If you can be inward successful when you have peace, when you have joy, when you're bearing fruit, when you have the fruits of the spirit. That's it. That is success. Yes, that is. That is success. Well, you said it the other day. Last night, Tyler said it to me. It was like, Mama, they doubt your if they doubt what you're doing, tell them what. Matthew, what would you say, Matthew? Oh, Matthew 633. Not Matthew 633 about the fruit, about the fruit. You was like, tell them check your fruit. Oh, Matthew said, I think it's 7.16. Yeah, that's what you said. Matthew 7.16. It's uh you tell a person based off of their fruit, like the evidence of their fruit. Yes, yes. You can tell a black person, yeah. You can tell who a person is by the fruit they bear. By their fruit they bear. Exactly. And the fruit they bear, it's inwardly, it's inward things. Like I just named peace, joy, happiness, gentleness, kindness, self-control, those things. So, in like back to the scripture, in the same way the rich person will wither away while pursuing his activities, if you're pursuing your activities and you're not rooted or you don't have the right foundation, eventually it can make it may look all cupcakes and rainbows right now, but as time goes on, it's gonna continue to fall and fall and decline and decline. But there's no foundation. Exactly. There's no foundation. And see, one thing that I see is there's two types of believers. You got the you have the the lowly believer, then you have the rich believer. The lowly believer rejoices in exaltation, identity in Christ. So, you know, those who identify with Christ, they're like, you know what, yes, hallelujah. But then you also have the rich believer that rejoices in humility, everything is temporary. But wealth is compared to wildflowers, beautiful but fleeting. Beautiful but fleeting. God measures life by eternal value, not visible status, and money fades, positions fade. But guess what stays the same? Christ stays the same. You know, we gotta understand things that trials are in are intentional, they're not accidental. God knows what he's doing. A lot of times when we're like, it's not you you said something to me today about logic. You know, you were just like, you know, don't allow the people's logic to interfere with God, what God has for you. You know, and don't be surprised when they're intimidated by what God is doing about who you're becoming. Because when God is in it, that's how it is. When Christ is in it, that's how it is. You know, you said something else too, you know, speaking on inside beauty inspires. That's where inside beauty comes from. You know what I'm saying? God gave me that years ago, inside beauty, and um, it's something that I want to be able to tell people, teach them from the inside out. And so when you were speaking of the things that are intangible, the things that we can't touch, those are the things that are very more, they these are the things that really do matter to God. They hold more weights, too. They hold up. That's that's that's what holds everything together. God judges by the soul, he doesn't judge by the status. Right. And so people don't understand that because they're trying to create an image. They want to look a certain way. Maybe if I make it look this way, then I'll get the perks I need. I'll get um, I'll get, you know, into that building. I gotta do it this way. No, you really just gotta believe and you really gotta get on the inside. And you know why people. People want these things. The reason people want these things is because people don't like or they don't want to accept the state that they're in. Either that's mentally, financially, physically, spiritually. People don't like the state. That's when they try to change some things around. Okay, if I get this, I'm gonna feel better because you don't like the state that you're in. I like that. You're running to the wrong thing. You're running. You're running. Escapism. You're trying to use escapism, going away from whatever it is, that situation, that trial, which James talks about, when you gotta just allow him to mature you and actually sit in what's going on what God has for you. You know what I'm saying? You just said it. Sit in it, which takes me to verse 12. God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterwards, they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. And remember, when you are being tempted to do, when you're being tempted, do not say, God is tempting me. God is never tempted to do wrong, and he never tempts anyone else. Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drags us away. These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death. It gives birth to death. Talk about it, Tylen. I want to go to verse 12. I love verse 12. Okay, let's talk about it. Blessed is the one who endures trials because when he has to test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. When I first read that, the first time I went through it, of course, I'm assuming that, okay, like the crown of life that God has promised, he's saying that I guess if I endure everything down here, I'm gonna make it to heaven, right? Which is true because that is the crown of life, right? Yes. But at the same time, let's look at it in more of a practical sense. If you endure, like for me, I ran track, right? If I'm enduring the practices, if I'm enduring all these things that I'm being tempted with on my body and all these things, then I'm gonna receive the crown of life. I'm gonna receive the award to God that that was promised by the work that I put in. You know what I'm saying? That's right. So blessed is the one, and I realized yesterday I learned that blessed isn't about outside. Absolutely. It's about it always says blessed is the man. It's never says blessed on the man. You know what I'm saying? Right, right, bless blessed is the man. Because it's it's it's in Hebrew, it means happy or flourishing. That's what it means in Hebrew, right? Yes. And it's the condition of the soul, not the condition of your life if you're blessed or not. What's your soul really look like? That's it. That determines if you're really blessed. So blessed, quote unquote, let's let's change that word from blessed to happier flourishing is the one who endures the trials.
Speaker 3:I like that.
Speaker 1:You know what I'm saying? So you just have to actually endure those trials and sit. I just love how he says that. That just that's a good idea. Well, you know, in the commentary, and and I thank you for that, Roy, because in the commentary it says, you know, everyone is looking for a blessing. Unfortunately, unfortunately, what they often mean by blessing is a car, a house, or a mate, a job or a raise, a true blessing. However, is a God-given capacity to experience, enjoy, and extend his goodness in life, regardless of whether God's blessing includes external components that are intended to bring about internal change so that our lives display the kingdom relationship and rule. Trials open up the door to God's blessings. So receive them with joy, pray for wisdom, and grow in Christ's likeness. You know, again, it's just proof. It's proof of what God can do when you think about it. James is not writing poetry here, he's writing proof. He's letting people understand what real faith looks like when life applies pressure. When things start to happen, the passage exposes um excuses. It confronts a self-deception, and it calls believers from hearing to becoming. You know, it's one thing to say, it's another thing to do. You know, endurance is rewarded. You know, the Bible tells us I'm a rewarder of those who diligently seek my faith. And I don't seek God for the reward, Tyler. I don't. But what I will say is based off of me, and during that time of me seeking God, there has been a reward on my life. You know, you've you've even said it, you see it, you know, we can't we can't act like God isn't who he says he is. And I like how it's always you're seeking him for the right reasons, and then you just have these things that become attached to you when you're seeking God. Those are the like me working, like that's what I'm saying. I want to make it super practical for the ones that are, you know, maybe not in their Bible or just so y'all can actually understand, like, yes, I'm working out, yes, I'm trying to eat better, but I'm not my goal isn't to live longer, but if I get living longer as a result of what I'm doing, then that's a that's a blessing itself. Amen. Right? Amen. So even though I started like this just to start working out, and I'm gonna change the workout too. I start reading the Bible, I start following God. Come on. Now I have all these things that are attached to me. Following me, you know what I'm saying? And it's not that I even wanted those things. It's just that you have God has a covenant with us that when you do his word, when you when you follow his word and you speak him, it's like he has no choice but to, oh, you I did say that in my word. I do have a covenant. I'm not gonna go back on what I told my people. You feel me? Years ago in Exodus and Genesis and stuff like that. Here you are. So I was this, I'm the same God forever. I am. It's always like he is the God of this, like he is the God of that. He never changes, and he will never change. That's future reference as well. Absolutely. You know, and let me tell you something, it's about the consistency. Um, the reward is not applause, it's the crown of life. God's reward system is eternal, not emotional. What you refuse to quit in obedience, God will crown in eternity. When we when we go through the endurance, endurance proves love, and love produces reward. God has a way of saying, you're, you know, that you're in alignment. When you're in alignment, you can't be you can't be canceled. I told you the other day I said a consecrated vessel can never be canceled. Because what does that mean? That means you work for God. That means you are made for his use only. So you got mean or call if you are chosen. And the reason why you're drawn to the word the way that you're drawn to it, because you listen, you pay attention, you you follow instructions. Let's keep going. What you think about verses 13 through 15? Um, I think they they hit home. I feel like they hit home in a sense of it gave me more understanding. And I'm gonna start with um verse, yeah, 13 through, I'll read verse 13 through 15 just to give y'all what it says again. No one undergoing a trial should say, I am being tempted by God. Since God is not tempted by evil, and he himself does not tempt anyone. But each person is tempted when he is drawn away and enticed by his own evil desire. Then after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin, and when sin is fully grown, it gives birth to death. Yeah. So I wanna I just want to highlight it's not about you desiring that thing if it's a sin or not. I can desire to do multiple things, but if I'm not putting that into action, I haven't I have not sinned. These are just desires going on in my head. That's when it comes to enduring the trials, not just trials and life or I don't have this money, but mental trials, you know what I'm saying? When you're going through things mentally, can you endure what's going on mentally, but you're having these desires, but you're enduring. But once you get in once you like be enticed by that and you're drawn away, now you're now you're habitually sinning because you're prioritizing your desires over your development. Come on. You know what I'm saying? And God is is it's hard because yeah, sin is that's you know what we were born into, right? Well, it's a condition, you know. I like to talk about it in a sense of a condition of the heart, you know, um uh and then their behaviors follow those things, you know. Um when when when people say, well, God is tempting, God doesn't do the tempting, but you are in you but you are enticed, you know, by your own desires. And because you're enticed, you know, that's where the enemy starts. He starts in the enticement, he starts in the unchecked desires. That's where he because he has that, he he's it's almost like, are you really tapped in? Are you really tapped in? Um what you don't govern and desire will eventually govern your decisions. Yes. And it's it speaks in Roman on how if you're g- Oh, I wish I remember. I think it's 813. Please do not quote me on that if y'all go and check it, but it's in Romans. It speaks on how if you are governed by the spirit, you will live. But if you're governed by the flesh, you will die. Yes. And we're all going to be governed by something. Exactly. We all have a ruler. We all have somebody, we all have a master. It speaks about that in Romans, too. We all have a ruler. What's gonna be are you is it gonna be you yourself, is it gonna be your flesh, or is it gonna be God? And see, most times people let themselves are or their flesh. Their flesh. They don't, and because they don't they don't know what it looks like to actually walk with God. They don't know, you know, people people have a facade of what they think is supposed to look like. But who's actually doing the work for real? Because temptation does not come from God, but transformation does. Yeah. And so if you allow God to do what he's going to do, God does not shift like shadows. God doesn't. He's not, he's the same, you just said it. He's the same. He chose to give us new birth through truth. What's truth? The word, his son. He came flesh. He wants us to understand that we are meant to be his first fruits. Why? Because it's the evidence of his son's work.
Speaker 2:Yes.
Speaker 1:It's evidence. Hallelujah. And you're not an afterthought. You're proof. When I think about my word, when I think about the word, I think about my children, I look at my children as proof. Can't nobody tell me God ain't real based off of what I've been instilling into them since they were children, and watching y'all grow up and flourish into the young men and women that you guys are flourishing into. That's all God. Yeah. That's all God. You know, God only gives one. God gives good gifts, and whatever perfect, it comes straight from him, which goes into verses 16 through 18. What you think about those? I want to get to that, but I it's still about 15. I just want to. Well, no, keep on keeping with it. I want to stay on, I want to stay on 15. Hey, let's stay on it. And then it says, then after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin. When sin is fully grown, it gives birth to death, right? Yes. So back to what you said, it's it's a condition of the heart, right? And condition of the heart, it's basically like your heart leads to your behavior in a sense. Yes. You know, like the say it's. What's in your heart? Heart, yeah, yeah. So people, and I okay, this brings me up, something this brings something else up. People want to change who they are off a rip. They want to change their behavior without changing their heart posture. Yeah. And they expect everything to go go right. It doesn't because behavior modification leads from heart transformation. Come on. You know what I'm saying? So I cannot walk into this new season if I still have this heart that I'm I'm I'm holding on to this and I'm holding on to that. I'm not allowing God to instill in me a new heart so I can receive new things He has for me. Right. You know what I'm saying? And then once I receive those things, my behavior will start to change, not for His love, but from the love that I've received within this new heart posture. Amen. So I just wanted to like hone in on that, you know what I'm saying, real quick. And um, and it's not the fact that because we're all gonna, you know, stumble, but it's a difference between when you're stumbling and you're living in habitually and you're and you know you're living in it and you're not trying to do anything about it. Yeah, because I mean you you you've convinced yourself that it's okay. You know, when when people do that, I feel like they do a dangerous thing. You know, you don't even know how dangerous that is. Because, you know, God He wants everybody to come closer, He wants everybody to believe, He wants everybody to believe in His Son. You know, He did do that. But see again, when people are led astray by their own fleshly desires, when people are watching more in tune with the world and the world's ways. The world makes the ways of the world, they look appealing. Yeah, they look enticing, they look like they promise you life. But I'd look at somebody like P. Diddy, not to call him out or anything, but you know, look at look at what happened to him. Look at where he's at. Look at all of the things. The Bible says, what profits a man to gain a whole world but lose his soul. You you you really led by your own fleshly desires. And look at where he ends you at. You know, in a lot of things, a lot of times too, Tyler, what God puts in his word, he puts his word, put it in the word so that we can know what to do and what not to do. You understand? Yeah. So we're we're reading the things that, like when we're on the prayer call, shout out to the ladies of ISI. We are in the book of Numbers, right? And there are standards, there's order. But most people don't know that proximity requires that. So when God is calling you to come closer to Him, yeah, all of those things that you thought was life, He gives you true life. It's a scripture that says when you lose your life, that's when you've actually find life and you find life in Christ. But a lot of times people don't, they're you know, they're a little afraid of it because they don't know what it looks like. They feel like they're having to give up something, they feel like they're changing. And it's not a change, it's that's transformation for the better. It's like a shift going on, yeah. And and people are so used to, and I hate that. I hate that people are so used to this comfort that the enemy has kept them in for so long that they're so used to it. And just like the people in Egypt, y'all talking about going back to Egypt because that's what you're used to. At least I had this in Egypt, at least I had that. You're letting outward things judg you feel me. But let me tell you something I find very funny. Let me tell you something I find funny though. They said that in the book of numbers, right? They started, they were thinking about works that were in the book of numbers, so they were thinking about them cucumbers and the melons, on how everything they had, everything that they wanted. You looking for a pen. Um, they they they wanted all the stuff like um, they were reminiscing on the way things used to be back in Egypt. I find this very and it is kind of humorous, but this is what the world we live in today, okay. The minute they, okay, so they're gonna make the suggestion, y'all. I'm talking about numbers a little bit. I don't know, I'm I'm just but bear with me, I know how to bring it back in. So in the book of Numbers, now Dana gave a suggestion to Moses. Moses, I think you should send some people over there, send, send, send the leaders over there to survey the land. So he sends 12 spies over there to survey the land. Joshua and Caleb come back, we can conquer them, we can do this, we can make it, we can make it. The other 10, yeah, it's blessing. It's it's it's bountiful, it's fruitful over there, but there's giants over there. There's giants over there. Boy, inside everybody. And I tell you, them people started tearing the clothes, crying and carrying on like they were going through something. And God had already said, I'm gonna, I'm gonna take you to a place that I'm giving you, a land that I am giving you. So they weren't having to go into this land, and but they had to be strong and courageous in the land. But God wanted, wanted, what God let people let things happen so people can see. So God got upset about it because here go, they were about to kill Moses, Aaron, Joshua, and Caleb. We let's get some new leaders. We don't know about these leaders. God's Poco whoa, wait a minute. No, no, you're not. Not these two. These are the men that I chose. These are my elect. But I tell you what, and Moses did bless Moses' heart. Moses stood in the gap for the people. Lord, you can't destroy them all. You can't kill them. You gotta be there for them. He's like, all right, Moses, bet. You're right. I'm I'm I'm slow to anger. You're right. You were he rebuked God. I was like, wait, what? Let me Moses rebuked God, like God, no. He said, Bet. All right, Moses. But they I can tell you one thing for certain and two things for sure. They will never enter into the rest. Tell them to turn around and go back the way they came. Go back to the Red Sea, go back to Egypt. Tell them why do people ain't want to go back then? Why didn't y'all ain't want to go back? No, now y'all don't want to go back. No, we get it now. Oh no, we done come to our mind. What you mean you don't came to your mind? Now you done came to your mind. It's too late. It's even in the book of Hebrews. People be like, well, Steph, that was in the Old Testament, babe. It's in the new two. It's in Hebrews 3. Like, God made that promise because you of their disbelief. It was all in their disbelief. And it made me think about that when you was like the pe the children of Israel. Like those were God's children. You got leaders. God has elect. Moses was telling them what to do the whole time. But nah. They want to do what they want to do. Exactly. Most of the times the leaders, like the the if you have a team, a leader can have like a vision that you know what I'm saying, but you can't see it. You're base, like you're basing your your logic off what you can see already. Because the leader is looking at vision. He's looking with purpose. He's looking with, okay, well, this can happen. And you're so stuck on, well, you don't see this. Well, this can happen. This can happen. This is I'm just telling you what I see. Okay, you're telling me what I see. I'm telling you what God tells me. I'm telling you what God is showing me for this. You know what I'm saying? And like I told, um, I wrote down before I left for the gym, do not limit your logic, do not limit God's logic. Yeah. I mean, do not l do not limit God based off of others' people's logic. Basically, based off of what you can see or based off what you've experienced, that you're gonna hold God to just that. No, he is everything. Absolutely. So, like you said, 12 spies, y'all went over there talking about some um, well, other than Caleb and Joshua. Right. Y'all went over there talking about some, well, it's giants over there. It look good, but it's giants, and that's how we get in life. Well, it looks good, but I don't think I can get to that because there's certain things over there that I can't defeat. Okay, that's when you go over there and realize when you are weak, God is strong. Well, he tells that's well, that's why you always see in Joshua 1.9, right? Yeah. That's why that's your scripture, right? He tells you what? Be strong and courageous. Why? Because he already knows what's over there.
Speaker 2:Exactly.
Speaker 1:He already knows that, like you said, and you're gonna you're gonna intimidate people based off of God growing you up. Yeah. You cause people to look at themselves. And that's what truth does. Truth exposes the truth. Real, recognize it's real. Amen. I ain't mean to go off into attempts, but go bring it back in. Hey, hey, listen, I love it this way because we're just being ourselves. Yeah. Amen. Go ahead, Tom. Let me go back to um Verse 19 through 20. For James 16? 16 through 18.18, yeah. All right. Don't be deceived, my dear brothers and sisters. Every good purse, perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. By his own choice, he gave us birth by the word of truth so that we would be first fruits of his creatures. And I think you said something about that before we dived into uh numbers for that little segment. Um but I just like how he says everything good and perfect comes from above. It's true. Everything that's perfect and good comes from above. It's true. And it's in time will tell because the enemy can give you a facade or okay, you prayed for this. I'm gonna I'ma sneak something in just to make you seem like you bought like you got it, and then you keep going down that road. Oh God. It's like now you blaming God, not realizing the enemy slipped his hand in there, you know what I'm saying? And you wouldn't know until that's why I said time will tell if it's perfect or not. And you know what? I'm glad you said it because it's about your connection. Are you connected or not? See, that's why it's important to stay plugged in. Because you need to know the difference between who's and who.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:You won't know other you how else will you know? If if he says, I'm gonna send you out among wolves in sheep clothing, beware of wolves in sheep clothing. That means they want to appear as light. You want to look like you got light, but where's the light? There's no light.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:There's no light. You just a uh uh a facade of light. Or I can't even say what can I bring to false light? The wolves in sheep clothing. That's it, that's it. Ain't no other way. And we know the angel of that that Satan likes to appear like he's that guy. No, you're not. Everything is a facade. It's not true. I want I want God to open doors and no man can close. Not men open doors because men can shut those doors. When God opened those doors, Talent, it's smooth sailing. Amen. I love that. Let's keep going. Uh verses 19 to 20, it's the posture of wisdom. Listen, people listen to me. Hear me by the Spirit of God. Be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. This is not personality advice, this is spiritual discipline. Quick to listen equates to humility. Slow to Speak equates to discernment. And and and slow to anger is spiritual maturity. Talk about it, son. What you think about verses 19 through 20? 19 through 20. Everyone should be quick to listen, so to speak, so the anger. For human anger does not accomplish God's righteousness. Um I literally tag beside it shows maturity, right? Um a lot of us, we we're so caught up in if somebody says the wrong thing, then we're we're gonna respond to to reflect instead of responding to actually, you know, I I heard you, I received what you said. That's why he's telling us to be quick to listen, not only to him, of course, be quick to listen to him, but be quick to listen to my children as well. Amen. Be quick to listen to my children. You're you're you're trying to speak, just shh, be quiet. I feel like you're talking to me. Be quiet. Just hold on, wait a minute. You're good, you're good. But he's saying, like, wait a minute, be quick to listen, so to speak. Let let someone, you know what I'm saying? They're trying to tell you something, okay, I'm listening. That's gonna show maturity. That shows, you know, it speaks about that in Proverbs about when you're like um power in the tongue. So basically, if you're quiet, you can hold more power being quiet. That's what I've learned. Yeah, you know what I'm saying? That's why I'm trying to be quiet, more gentle, stuff like that. That's it. Um and then slow to speak. Um, slow to speak, not because you shouldn't say anything, but when you do, make sure what you heard was actually what you heard and not you just going off emotion right now. Well, people go off emotion. Exactly. Make sure you go off of wisdom. You going off emotion, you're gonna put yourself in a hole that they didn't even mean that, but now you're thinking they meant that. Yeah. And you did it to yourself. Exactly, because you wasn't actually listening. You weren't- You are selective hearing. Yeah. You want you heard what you wanted to hear. I know what you said. And you got ang and you got angry and you got angry. And you got and if anger is leading, righteousness is not following. Verse 20, for human anger does not accomplish God's righteousness. Not at all. If you are living in anger and you are so you're you're quick to be angry with your brothers and sisters. Yeah. You're you're quick to speak to them without even actually understanding or listening to what they're trying to tell you. Or speak about them. I like that as well. Judge them. Yeah. You know, just it's a lot of self-righteousness. Yeah. It's a lot of self-righteousness, you know what I'm saying? Like, they don't listen, you know, and they'll call something blessed, curse. And they'll call something curse, blessed. But that's what the enemy wants to do. That's how the enemy works. Keep going. Verse 21. Receive the implanted word. Humbly accept the word God is planted in your hearts. Listen, the word must be received humbly. You must allow it to take root. You must give it permission to save your soul. You know, pride resists the word. Ain't no other way around it. Pride was the devil's downfall. We got kicked out of heaven straight up for pride. So, you know, you know, like, why you walk around full of pride? When people walk around, I was about to speak on the time. I think people walk around based off of outward things at the second. Because I know we're talking about outward appearances and things like that earlier. We well, we mentioned it. And from people that I've seen that gave off like ego or pride, it's based off of what you have or what you what you think really matters. Yeah, oh, I've accomplished this, I've obtained this, I got this in the bank, I got this whip, I got all these things. So I I I'm better than you in a sense. I have I can feel better than you because you don't have these materialistic things that sorry, you can't take the car into the kingdom. You can't. You can't take the car into the kingdom, you can't take the money into the kingdom. Yeah. It's materialistic, and God is judging you based off your soul, not your status, but people are so used to being people pleasers, which I know we've talked about a good bit on here, is that I'm gonna do this not for God, but for people to look at me and say, Oh, that's a successful man. That's a successful woman, that's a successful man because he has these things, and God's looking down on you like, hmm, just shaking his head because Yeah, and his and his servants shake their heads, too. Right, just what in the world is you doing? If you looked at my word, you would realize what you're chasing has no built foundation. Yeah, absolutely not. Not even that. I'm saying you can't have car money and this and that, but when you're doing these things and now you want to be proudful of these things, like these are the things that really matter. Look at me. It's crazy because these things hold no weight to me. And then it doesn't produce any fruit. Yeah. Where's your fruit? You know, you got status, but where's your fruit? It speaks about rooting, isn't it? Where's it? Yeah, yeah, yeah. You gotta be planted the humbly receive the implanted word, humbly, you know, be rooted in the word. And it's like, and I and this is super practical, which I love how God does this. I love how how he works with parables and stuff like that. If I plant something, whatever I root it in depends on how it will grow and what will come out of it. Or if it will grow at all. Come on. So, based off of people, whatever I'm rooted in is gonna be what I'm putting out. If I'm rooted in bad behavior, I'm gonna I'm gonna produce bad behavior. Nine times out of ten. If I'm rooted in a crowd where it's a lot of cussing, I'm probably gonna end up cussing, you know what I'm saying? Yeah. But if we switch it, if I'm rooted in a wise council, I'll feel like I'm becoming wise based off of what I'm rooted in. If I'm in the word, hmm, I'm starting to live more like Jesus. Because based off what you're rooted in, is who you become. Come on, Tyler, you better tell me. It's gonna be based off what you produce. And what do you want to produce in this? If the word is not planted, if the word is planted but not pretended, it will never produce anything. There's a where's your fruit? No fruit. No fruit. Or worse, it's bad fruit. It's bad fruit. Oh no. Oh god. Anger. Malice. Now we're living in must. Now we're living in rage. Jealousy. You know, these type things, right? All those things. And those can be produced based off of what you're rooted in. So I'm gonna question this to myself, but also ask you guys the question: what am I rooted in? Or what do I want to be rooted in in 2026? Amen. And don't even, when you ask yourself what you're rooted in, do not lie. Just be real. Well, you know, in Romans 12, we talked about Romans 12, but see, that's why I like Paul. Paul said, take an honest evaluation of yourself, like for real. Like, be honest with yourself about who you really are, okay? God already knows. I already see you, yo. Like if people be thinking they're fooling me, babe. You you might think you fooling me, but I can tell you nine times out of ten, you're not. I got a spirit. And if you're fooling me, you're you're not fooling God. You're definitely not fooling. I'm not hip on what you're doing. I can guarantee you. He most certainly sees you. He severed. Nothing goes on. Which takes us to verses 22 to 25. Hearing verses doing. Don't just listen to God's word. You must do what it says. You gotta do what it says. Jamie supposes the greatest deception in church. Information without transformation. Come on, man. Where is the key? I'm gonna keep it a G time because here's uh this is my hear my heart. People put themselves in these positions and they don't understand that there is a call for real, and there is a process for real. And people have put themselves in in these positions and want to tell people how to live their life and how to do this, that, and that third, but the word shows who you truly are. And walking away unchanged is self-deception. You don't even know that you're deceiving yourselves. You know, I know that like on the prayer call, I'll talk to the ladies about this a lot because we carry the presence of God. His presence is there. That means there's power there. Revelation that isn't obeyed becomes condemnation. So, you know, it's important to not just hear, but to be a door of it. We're we're watching what God does and we're good, we're we're there's an illustration of it. But what people, the reason why people don't go to church, silent, because they don't see no change. Like, where's the transformation? You know, you're going and you're getting this word about what's like, but I'm still the same. And this is church as a whole. So people start to look at it like, well, Sally maybe going to church her whole life and she mean as a she mean. And she ain't never changed. Like, so I don't know if the church, is it real? Is it will the word really transform me? Because now they're looking at the church as deception. Deception or based on all you got business. Or or they're looking, and that's why Jesus talks about in the Bible, we are to be reflections of him because we don't realize that we are the first Bible or we're the first display of his character someone's gonna see. Amen. We have to realize that, okay, if I am going to church, you're not if I am going to church, someone's looking at me and someone's gonna assume, okay, they follow Jesus based off of me going to church. They believe in Jesus. But when I like interact with them and they don't feel him at all, they don't feel any of his characteristics, you're being in and don't don't be a bad representation of Christ because you doing that is gonna lead somebody else's way that he wants to be able to do it. And they think everybody likes it. And everything likes it. And it's exactly, and I hate that we live in like this American doctrine of like, okay, well, I go to church just for kicks and giggles. I'm a Christian, but I don't follow. What? Yeah. That's why the word, like, that's why they speak about being a disciple in the in the word. Talk about it, son. Being a disciple is following. That's right. If anybody asks me, I'm a disciple of Christ. That's right. If you want to label me as a Christian, I I follow, I mean, I believe in Christ. You know what I mean? I'm a believer. I'm a believer, but I'm not saying we're not the same, but you're believing and I love it because belief is great. But what comes after that belief is you gotta follow. Yeah. Are you gonna follow the coach's plan if you say you believe in it? And that's just it. You said it, God give everybody a coach. If you really hung, He says those who hunger and thirst after righteousness shall be fed. If you want God to come speak to you and be like, all right, God, I like this podcast, somebody's gonna hear this and be like, man, that was that was it. They they were on fire. Or somebody might hear and be like, I was just talking to God about that. And they speaking that. That's how he speeds through. He speaks people like us. Because we're doing the work. We're not just doing the work on Sunday. We do the work throughout the week. Throughout the week. So you people going to look at you. They might never read their Bible title. Right. Keep it a G. I tell the ladies I said sometimes they'll never read the Bible, but they really read you. Are you representing our Father? Are you representing his son? Are you a real representation? Or are will he be ashamed of it? Because I'm gonna tell you something, God ain't gonna do the people promote themselves and put themselves out there like God said, and God did. And God has a mighty way that's sweet, and have a way of saying no, I did not. You know, because you can't play them type of games with God. And and and which brings me to verse 26. Oh, well, go ahead. Did you have anything else you wanted to add to verse 22 through 25? Because I know we said we were gonna do two chapter two, but we ain't gonna have time to do chapter two. It comes, it comes with um us as believers too, because you were saying, like, he gives coaches. So let's say we're coaches, but if I'm not saying yes to the game plan that God has given me, my my students, my athletes aren't gonna be able to enjoy what I'm trying to, you know what I'm saying? They're not gonna get it. So, as believers, as not only believers, but as disciples of Christ, we have to say yes. If we're gonna be coaches, we have to say yes to what he's given us because the moment we say no, it's the moment three other people go down the wrong path because we didn't say yes. Come on. And God wanted to use us to talk to that person on the street, but you said no because you were gonna be ashamed, but he's trying to use you. Yeah, but but and you're and you wanna be used. And you and you want God, you want to be used by God. You want God to be in your life, but you don't want to But you want to tell God how to use you. That you can't do that. But that's the problem, though, because it's like God does give us coaches, God gives us people that will help us along the way. Shout out to Prophet Deborah, you know. She she's somebody God sent to me. Shout out to Gloria Miller. She's somebody God sent to me. You know, every morning when we get on the prayer call, I say these affirmations, she right there. Which brings me to, you know, wake up, God wants to talk. You know, she I shouted her out in that book because without without without Glow, ISI wouldn't be what ISI is. She had to say yes. I had to say yes. Now we're here we are, here we are. It's year number nine. And a book has been produced. Uh the ladies on the prayer call have been nominated for the Upstate Hoodie Award. I didn't even know the Inside Beauty Inspires was nominated as best podcast. I'm like, what is this? Because I was doing the work. I wasn't looking at the applause. I didn't really care. I still I ain't never really. If you live by the applause, you're gonna die by the applause, right? So if you live by the approval of God, then you're gonna, God will sustain you. That's actually the key of life. Well, let's talk about religion versus relationship. If you claim to be religious but don't control your tongue, well religion is useless. It deceives himself. You deceive yourself. You too. You know, James closes the chapter with one heart check. He closes the chapter with a heart check, which is beautiful for us, you know, as we go into the ending of this word. What that heart look like. Like just keep it, you know, pure religion is not loud, is not performative, it's not argumentative, you know. People you want to go back and forth about the word. I'm not going back and forth. True faith produces controlled speech, compassionate actions, and clean living. An ungoverned tongue reveals an unsubmitted heart. Talk about a tongue. I love that, Anna. Ungoverned tongue reveals an unsubmitted heart. Are you walking to walk or are you just talking to talk? Talking to talk. Which one which one you doing? Because if you just talking to talk, the what you're what does it say here? Is religion is useless. You're deceiving yourself. Because you want other people to feel like you're this person, and inside you're not, so you're deceiving yourself. Yes. Because and I I hate that people because I've had people come to me and say stuff to me, and I just, I know you cap it. I know you're lying. I know, but I know you're telling me this because of who I am, and you want to have me look at you in a certain way, I know you cap it. God knows, but you you care so more, you care more about what a person, but what a person's gonna think.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:Or that's why I said people are so ready to, oh God, I want to be on display. You're not even submitted. Yeah, you won't even get up and see God's face. And then when somebody says, hey, you want to be a part of something great? I don't need that. Don't know. They just told God, no, because they didn't believe you. That's why Jesus said, you know, he said, you're gonna say, I did all these things in my name, but I'm gonna say the part for me, I never knew you. When I think about that talent, I think about how people miss it every day. People don't know that God brings, in Luke 24, they Jesus was talking to two people walking, and they were made to keep, they didn't even know they were talking to him. So we don't know whether we're entertaining angels. Angels are are we, they, they they came from heaven. All perfect good and gifts come from heaven.
unknown:Above.
Speaker 1:So the Bible tells me, greater is he that is in me than it is in this world. If I carry God's spirit on the inside of me, and I say, all right, Tyler, you might need to go right instead of going look. And you be like, okay, mom, whatever. I'm gonna go left instead of right. You gonna see what what you're gonna see with that, with that, um, when you don't follow instructions, disobedient. What what what's gonna happen based off of that? Or you're delaying what someone's telling you. You people love to say, oh, it's I'ma do it, and think that they're not being disobedient. If God says do it at that time, then you don't, gang. Delayed disobedience. It's still disobedience. Disobedience. Like, come on. Like delayed obedience is still obedient. I mean still disobedience, right? Yes. Like, yeah, I'm being obedient, but not right now. Why not right now? What? Because you're scared. And scared, money don't make no money to it. At all. So it's like you're living by fear, not faith, how we talked about earlier. And you gotta put that faith into action based off of, okay, well, I believe this, because if anyone thinks he's religious, without control of the tongue, his religion is useless. So I believe it, so I'm gonna control my tongue. A lot of people do a lot of things for God's love and not from it. Based off of his glory, his mercy, his love, that's why we should be moving the way we're moving, not because we're trying to earn those things, because he gave them to us and we should steward them, right? We should not take advantage of these things. Like you said, if a person tells me to go left and go right, I mean, if he tells me to go right, but I go left, I'm green, I was disobedient, but what is God doing? Well, you should have listened there. But I'm right here. I'm giving you mercy, I'm giving you grace. Yeah. You can come back. Come back. So when you do make the wrong turns, you have a God that's literally right there. Saying, uh-uh, come on. Yeah, well, let me pull. Nah, okay, now I gotta grab you by the ear. You playing, you know, now he's gonna. And we can't be mad when we don't listen and something bad happens in his shifts. Not in the sense of if you listen, nothing bad would have happened, but it wouldn't have been, you wouldn't have had to go through all that. And that's why Jesus matters, Tyler. Do you understand? He told those people to go back. God done brought y'all out of Egypt. Now go turn around and go back. Because God ain't with you. I remember, yeah. Yeah, because God ain't with you. Well, who don't want God to be out? David said in Psalm 51, God, I take everything, but the presence. Please, please don't take your presence. And I think that's where we should all be. Yeah. Prioritize. But people want God's hand more than they want his presence. They want a hand. What can you do for me? But not the presence of God. Because when you are intimate with God, that's what we're learning in the word. We're intimate, we're spending time. So when you're spending time, that's proximity. And you and you're able to really bask in that. But instead of, well, God, can you do this for me? God, can you do this for me? What God's saying, won't you come and just sit down and let's let's talk about something. Let me develop you. Can I develop you first before you ask me for all these things? Can I truly transform you? But can I trust? Exactly. And God just gave me something, and this to me is powerful. Maybe he gave it to me for me, but I'm gonna say it on here. Prioritize presence, not placement. I love that type of thing. And when I say that, it's because we need to prioritize being in his presence and not just where can he take me or what can God give me or what can he place me at in my life. Yes, sir. Do not prioritize placement because when you prioritize presence, you get displaced. You get displaced the right way on the right path. Right. You're not being displaced by your own hand and it's on the it's not on the right foundation. That's why people be looking at you like you're not who you say you are, because where you at? Not understanding that God said, not yet. God is developing you. Can you spend time with God and allow him to develop you and then put you? That's why the Bible says those who exalt themselves will be will be those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted. That's the Father working. Well, listen, y'all. We we was really in this word. We got excited about it. We were able to get through James 1. You know, check us out next week for James 2. Um, but I want to leave you guys with uh with a couple of things before I leave up out of here. Number one, I have written a book, Wake Up God Wants to Talk, um, A Walk with Wisdom. This book is such an important piece of the puzzle. Um God here in my spirit uh years ago, and I had to talk about it and know how I was going to introduce it to everyone. But here I am introducing it to you guys. If you haven't gotten your copy, you can go to Amazon.com. I'm Prophet is Stephanie L. Harrison. It's called Wake Up Guy Wants to Talk, A Walk with Wisdom. Also, you can follow me on um Facebook, on Instagram. Facebook is um Stephanie Harrison. Um also Instagram is Carolina Beauty. Um, also, I want my son to also, you know, give his, well, he did, he told you earlier, he told y'all in the beginning. But I want to leave y'all with this word that God gave me. We always do the picking cards. And my card was actually got two cards, but I'm gonna give y'all the one that I was just like, well, I always get that one. But this one says Psalms 71, verse 21 Thou shalt increase my greatness. Comfort me on every side. And I got to smiling so hard for this because my affirmations say the Lord has magnified me and increased my greatness. I am positioned for greatness, living the triumphant and prosperous life. Hallelujah. I am powerful. I am powerfully multiplying in all directions and bursting forth with progress and advancement that is evident for all to see. Check my foot worked. Thank God. And I am multiplying in all directions and I am blessed in all things. So I thank God for that word. Hallelujah. Title and share your word with the people. My word was, but I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God. I trust in God's unfailing love forever and ever. For what you have done, I will always praise you in the presence of your faithful people. And I will hope in your I will hope in your name, for your name is good. Psalms 58, 8 through 9. Psalms 52, 8 through 9. Amen. Amen. That was beautiful words. No, that made your word. Hey, Tylen, hey, Tylen got a little smile on his face. Y'all can't see my smile right now, Chad. But y'all can hear it, Chad. Y'all can hear it, Chad. Well, listen, did you have any additional words that you want to give the people before we leave? From out of this beautiful. Do I ain't gonna lie? I got it. Look at Tylen be ready to tell y'all how to live y'all life. I got a lot of words, but I can't, yeah. And this this is all 2026 words I've got, man. Just from reading and watching and, you know, allowing God to speak to me. But I think what God is calling us into this season is allowing us to how can I say, allow him to reveal himself. Not at all at once, but progressive revelation.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:And the way he's gonna reveal himself to you is based off what you're going through. And I talked to my mom about this. If you're going through a trial where he needs to introduce you to him being a healer, boom, that's gonna happen. When he's when you're going through a trial based off of him showing you, oh yeah, I'm I'm peace. I'm Shalom. You know what I'm saying? It's gonna be when where he's introducing his names. You're gonna meet a lot of you're gonna lot you're gonna meet a lot of his names this year. I love him. So be prepared to meet his names. Don't run from the trials, sit in the trials, endure the trials, and watch what happens after. We like to test God with disobedience a lot and say, okay, well, I'm not gonna listen, and I'm gonna see what happened. How about if we test God with obedience and see what happens? Hey, I think that's the word right there. Test God with obedience. Test God with obedience. And see. There we go. There it is. There it is. Test God with obedience and see what happens. I love that. Listen, I want to leave out with, well, and I want to give this word for 2026. To me, God spoke to me, He told me that this is the year of prosperous, not prosperous, but promises. This is the year of promises. You know, everything that God said is going to be fulfilled. You gotta be in alignment, though. You gotta be in alignment. And how do you get in alignment? You talk to him. Jeremiah 33, verse 3 says, Call to me, and I will answer you and tell you things you do not know. So if there's anything that you're going through, anything that you're wanted to know, don't be ashamed to call out to your father. He's right there for you. Again, you know, we're we're on social media. You can reach out. Um, I want to speak this word over you guys before we leave. Um, you know, I declare and decree in Jesus' name that you will endure without blaming God, that you are governed, that that you will govern, he will govern your desires and guard your mouth, and that you will receive the word with humility and live it with obedience, and that you are not being deceived, but you are you are being transformed by the renewing of your mind. Your faith is alive, active, and producing fruit. I love you guys so very much. I have an amazing day on purpose. Peace.
unknown:New, new, everything new. I'm ready to go. Ready for more. I'm ready for new. Like a straight on the stone. You already know.
