What up everybody? I'm your host, JP, and this is my co-host Josh. Hey everybody. And welcome back to another episode of the Film Bros Podcast. Alright, Josh, we got some good news, some bad news, and maybe some things in between. I mean, we got some really good trailers at the back end of this episode, so I'm really excited for that. Um, a couple of the conversations that we're gonna have, I mean, you know, I think I've already talked to you about this, and I think this is something that like I feel in my soul, but like that whole Paramount merger and everything that was happening, I felt like that was like the biggest thing that happened this year. And after that, it's just been kind of, you know, I mean, I think the next big thing we're waiting for is probably that doomsday trailer, and yet nothing at all, nothing at all. Um, it's been kind of quiet. We we're getting little little confirmations here and there, but for the most part, um, you know, we're not hearing big stuff from DC anymore. It actually seems like they're going in a regression stage. Marvel's over there keeping their their uh trailers close to the fucking vest to the point where you know if you get a leak, Kevin Fahy himself is gonna pay you a visit. Alright, so that's where that's kind of like the point that we're at, especially with like the news cycle that's happening right now. But you know, I'm kind of excited for some of the things that we're gonna be talking about. And first things first, Josh, uh I am legend 2 is finally gonna start its production. We finally got a director now. Whether the director's good enough for you or not, we're gonna find out. But uh I am Legend 2 has already been going through its own hurdles. One of those hurdles has been basically trying to explain this sequel to a lot of people, right? Like a lot of people are like, hey man, I thought I am Legend 1, you died. And he's like, Well, Will Smith is like, well, there's an alternate alternative ending, and that's actually gonna be the real ending that's gonna basically take place for I Am Legend 2. Michael B. Jordan set to star, um, Will Smith is set to star as well, and now we're getting our very own director for it, and that is Stephen Cable Jr. Cable Jr. Um now I don't know if you know who that is, Josh, but he was the one that made Rise of the Beasts, okay? He was also the director of Creed 2 as well. Um, kind of took it from Ryan Kugler for for about a movie, and then you know, um Michael B. Jordan decided to do the third part and you know direct that one. But for the most part, Steven Cable Capel Jr. is uh signed on to do I Am Legend 2 with Will Smith and Michael B. Jordan. I mean, a reunion between him and Michael B. Jordan, obviously, because like I said, Creed 2. Um, and Will Smith is gonna be is gonna be his first time working with him, I believe.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that sounds pretty cool. I mean, Rise of the Beast was kind of terrible, but Creek 2 is great. So Creed 2 is great.

SPEAKER_01

You gotta you gotta be honest, Creed 2 kind of kind of is the weakest link of the bunch, though, right?

SPEAKER_02

No, it no. No, no, it's not, dude. No.

SPEAKER_01

Out of the three?

SPEAKER_02

Out of the three, no.

SPEAKER_01

I now I actually I watched them, okay, after we watched Creed 3, and I watched Creed 1 and Creed 2, and you know, I gotta be honest, Creed 2 gotta be the one that's the weakest link out of the bunch. No, what dude, no, I'm sorry now.

SPEAKER_02

So the first Creed Creed 3 Creed 3 gotta probably be the weakest. I love it, but what the fuck? What the fuck? You don't even like the ending fight. You don't like anime, you don't get to have the references they were making.

SPEAKER_01

I I understood it. I didn't say I didn't like it. I enjoyed it very much. It was very fun. It was a fun fight. The punch, the sweat coming off of them, it was very fun. I personally enjoyed uh seeing Jonathan Majors and Michael B. Jordan go at it. It was great, it was a great movie, and I honestly think it's probably the best one out of the three.

SPEAKER_02

No. Um tweaking. I'm sorry, no.

SPEAKER_01

But you know, if I had a rank I'm gun to my head, 3-1-2.

SPEAKER_02

2-1-3. No.

SPEAKER_01

You're oh wow, that is that is insane. I'm calling Michael B. Jordan today. You know he's an Oscar winner, right?

SPEAKER_02

Well, yeah, so he's gonna be like, ah, yeah. The story with the with the with Urkov or and or with Ivan and his father, and then it trickling down to them, that was great. I don't know what you're talking about.

SPEAKER_01

It sounds decent, but it just doesn't live up to the hype that we saw with Jonathan Majors and Michael B. Jordan going on. Hater, you're hater. But Stephen Cable Capel Jr., like I said, as a director for this film, uh okay, Creed 2 wasn't terrible, so I can't say it was bad. But I will say Rise of the Beast was terrible.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, Rise of the Beast was bad. He's kind of one for one.

SPEAKER_01

So uh who directed the first one?

SPEAKER_02

The first one. Creed?

SPEAKER_01

Uh I am Legend.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I'm not too sure. I wouldn't I can tell you.

SPEAKER_01

Francis Lawrence. He's the one that made like the Hunger Games and all that stuff.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_01

He was uh director of like all the Hunger Games movies. He did the one with Rachel Zegler region recently as well. That's a that's a director right there. Francis Lawrence is a director right there. Steven Cable Jr., he's still making a name for himself. You know, we go from one to another one. Um I mean I don't know. Are are we excited for a second one? At least with everything coming out, obviously, like I said, they have to obvious uh tell people like the first one is no longer canon, right? Or I mean the first one is canon up until the ending, and then the ending, you basically gotta watch uh you know a cool 10-minute clip on the on the bonus features, or if you have the alternative version that you could just kind of pop on and it's already on there at the end, like you could watch it. But I mean, is that kind of throwing you off when it comes to this movie, or are you just gun ho when it comes to Island Legend 2?

SPEAKER_02

I mean, I understand it, and then I'm one of the few people that do understand it. But if you gotta walk into a room full of people who don't understand it and be like, Well, it's because we have this alternate ending. I understand you want to include them, but your audience is kind of already like, What the fuck? We didn't even why wasn't this the original ending then?

SPEAKER_01

You fucking Um I think Will Smith came out and spoke about it too. He said that apparently they tested it, they tested the if the first ending, which was the original ending, and that's apparently the ending that's supposed to be in the book, where like the true monster is supposed to be Will Smith himself, and not necessarily the monsters that are outside. So, I mean, that was supposed to be the original ending. I guess they tested it. People hated it because they were like, Well, he can't be the monster. I guess people couldn't really resonate with the fact that the monsters are actually the good guys and the bad guy is Will Smith himself, right? So I guess that was an issue. They redid they reshot the the ending, I guess, a couple months before the actual release was, and then that's what the ending was. So apparently the test audience couldn't really grasp the fact that you know Will Smith was the bad guy.

SPEAKER_02

Well, people are dumb then because I that that's that's like probably the only thing they they got right out of that whole book or out of the whole thing, you know? Yeah, because in the book, I mean this movie is far from the book, but in the book, isn't it the point that he walks into a basically a place that's full of just like vampires and he's the one that's like hunting them and all that stuff? He that's why he he's called I Am Legend because he's kind of their folklore, basically.

SPEAKER_01

No, well he's the in their eyes, he's the bad guy, right? It's like they created their own community, and he's the intruder that is basically destroying their community. So they he's the one that robbed the honey, he took his girl, all that stuff. It is what it is. But I I will say that I I that kind of confused me when all this stuff was kind of happening and Michael B. Jordan was on top of it, and he was like, Hey, you know, we are gonna make it and whatnot. Like that was a big point for me where I was like, hey, you know, a lot of these people aren't gonna they're gonna walk into the movie confused andor not want to watch the movie because they're gonna be like, Well, I thought he died. Right? Like he's gonna be like, Oh, I thought he died. Um, but it all just depends on what happens next. But at least we got a director for it. It is moving forward. I this one has been kind of in limbo for a while. I thought we're gonna get like a it's been cancelled or it's not gonna happen, but apparently it's it's gonna happen. Hopefully, this one helps change Will Smith's career around because it's everything he's been doing is just not been working. I'm happy he put that rap shit in the back.

SPEAKER_02

I I can't see him like in the public eye anymore, dude. Like, I I it's sad to say, but his fall from Grace and the fact that shit with his wife still is still coming up, like who's allowing her on these podcasts where they just give her free range to talk bad about him and him coming out to respond to that stuff. I'll never understand.

SPEAKER_01

She's allowed to do whatever she wants, have entanglements, do whatever she wants. You're gonna do whatever she wants. So um, but yeah, I under I I get that part too, because I think that was something that I have an issue with with Will Smith as well. He went from being like the most beloved guy, like you could see him in anything, and he'll like even when Gemini Man came out, like that was still kind of like people were willing to pass that um to look past it to be like, oh, you know, that's Will Smith right there. You know what I'm saying? Like it's still a decent movie. Um but then after the slap, things have been kind of slipping left and right, and you know, the cracks have been showing. Um like I said, the very last thing that a lot of people kind of were like, hey man, like we need to we need to put a cap on this was the whole rapping thing when you know I'm an action stuh. Like that's we need to we need to do better. Yeah, we need to do better. We need to do better. Uh but let us know what you guys think, huh?

SPEAKER_02

I pray that he stops.

SPEAKER_01

We all pray. We all pray. Um, but hopefully we can get a better um outlook for Will Smith. I mean, this sucks that his legacy's kind of tarnished, but he could always fix it, it could always turn uh back around, and he can become the legend again, right? Um but with that being said, let us know what you guys think. I am legend too. We'll be going into production. Steven Capel Jr. will be directing Michael B. Jordan and Will Smith. Uh Will Smith will be returning, and Michael B. Jordan will be making his debut in this franchise. It's gonna be very exciting. I can't see I can't wait to see them act alongside each other. I just hope it's magic and not a pissing contest, right?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I mean at this point, Michael B. Jordan's kind of you know on his own way to go. So I mean, maybe I don't know. I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

A second ago, about a year ago, we were praising him for sinners and Kree 3, and now you've changed. I wonder what happened.

SPEAKER_02

Um no, I'm saying that he's probably outclassed Will Smith by now.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, on acting, probably. I think he probably I think he's probably gonna do a little bit better, which you know, I that those kind of dynamics you kind of see on screen as well when you have like a seasoned actor and maybe like a young actor who's kind of killing it right now, and you could tell like they really try to put a performance on. So hopefully this kind of uh, you know, it puts that that fire under Will Smith to really perform, right? So we'll have to wait and see what happens with that. Moving on, Josh. If you are excited for a Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker reunion with Rush Hour 4, you might have to wait a little bit longer. So, according to Puck News, um they were planning to begin filming for this film for Rush Hour 4, but Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker have both passed on this movie. Why did they pass? You asked, well, apparently their the wallet is not showing. Um, they said, hey, you know, we'll bring you back for rush hour four, but we're only gonna pay you about eight million in salary. Where when they made rush hour three, they were making about twenty million in salary. So uh very big price cut. Jackie and Chris Tucker basically said we're not we're not gonna do it. Uh Paramount has been kind of going through this weird limbo time. Um, obviously, they they have the um the the the hearings that they have to go through to obviously get this merger through. Um, they do have some financial backing from the Saudis. Uh, unfortunately, there is a conflict that is happening overseas right now that is kind of stopping a lot of this process from going through a little bit quicker. Um, at the end of the day, there's a lot of things going against Paramount and Rush Hour 4 as we speak, and apparently so much so that Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan are just saying we're we're not gonna we're not gonna do it. They're not financially locked in as of right now. So maybe this movie is just not meant to happen. Yeah, you know, there's signs in life, right? There's signs in life, and a war is a big sign to maybe not like if a war is stopping a movie from happening, we gotta kind of say this probably not gonna happen, right?

SPEAKER_02

If Trump wanted it that bad, flesh out a little bit more cash.

SPEAKER_01

He could he'll probably, you know, use the potential dollar on there, right?

SPEAKER_02

Right, like why why not? Like if you want it that bad, like that's the thing. If I was in Chris Tucker shoes, I'd be like, hey Bill, I made I needed 20 last time, I need about 30, you know, just just for wasting my time and having this conversation. And then be like, if the if if this isn't even coming from anyone who actually wants it, and this is a presidential like request, I'd be like, you gotta fetch out the dough. It's not gonna happen.

SPEAKER_01

Right, right. Um that is true. Well, like I said, there is signs in this world. Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan are kind of getting old. There there is no screenwriter attached. Reportedly, there is no screenwriter attached, still no financial lock. The money that they're throwing to them is not worth them returning. I I think at this point, rush hour is just I either we reboot it or we just let it go. I think that's the point.

SPEAKER_02

Reboot, reboot time would be okay. They're too young, they're too old. I'm sorry, they're too old.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I think it would be time for for about a reboot or something. Steven U and Michael B. Jordan.

SPEAKER_02

Oh yeah, I guess that's not bad. That's not bad. Holy shit. You know what I'm saying? Holy shit for it.

SPEAKER_05

Holy shit, y'all! Holy shit, or we're winning, we're winning.

SPEAKER_02

What's the what's the what's the alternatives, bro? We get fucking You can get the guy from The Last of Us. Who did Shang Chi? Simi Lu.

SPEAKER_01

You can get Seem Lu, yeah. Simi Lu and uh who could he bounce off? Oh, the dude from um we're gonna have to pick from the MCU bucket, but the dude M Baku. Mm Baku? No, Shang Chi.

SPEAKER_02

I I don't think he was that he's not like Chris Tucker funny.

SPEAKER_01

Well, you haven't seen him in a comedy role, I don't think, right? I don't think I've actually seen him in like I he's funny in what com in Black Panther. I think he's like the funniest part of it.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, I think with better writing, uh the dude who played Wonder Man could probably be good comedically.

SPEAKER_01

Yaya with my uh with Simi Lu, uh dude, that's an abomination casting right there. I would never even put them in the same room together. Simi Lu does it does not have you know, he doesn't even have the grace to be in the same room as Yaya, okay? Yaya gets his own room. Simi Lu gets his room down the hallway, two about three doors down.

SPEAKER_02

That's crazy. That's crazy.

SPEAKER_01

Um we're doing Yaya. We need a professional, all right? We're not gonna do we're not doing amateurs like Seemie Lu, okay? We're gonna do like uh oh, Donnie Yen. Put Donnie in there. Donnie Yen with Yaya.

SPEAKER_02

He's also he's also a little older. He's just as old.

SPEAKER_01

I think that would make for a good dynamic, though. A little bit more seasoned um Asian actor who's been on the force for a while, and then you get a little bit younger of a of a black actor who's been, you know, he's it he's been in there for a little bit, but not as much, not as long as obviously the um I would say like Donnie Yin. And then he could kind of show him the ropes in the whole action scene, and then obviously if they go to America, then uh Yaya could show him the swagger and everything, like kind of like the original, but a little bit, a little bit more uh layers to it, I would say. Fucking hire me. Hire me. I got you guys. We could do way better than bringing back these two. Uh no offense. Chris Tucker, Jackie Chan, they live in my heart forever. Rush Hour 1 through 3. I even love three. Okay, and a lot of people are like, well, three is kind of like I love three. I love all three of them. They're great. But I think we're done. I think Rush Hour Four has missed this train about 10 years too late, at least, right? Um I would say probably 15 years too late. If we were gonna do a a fourth party, it would have to have been before the 2010s. But we're we're done. I think we're off the train. I think we're good. Am I right? Yeah, we're chilling.

SPEAKER_02

We're chilling.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, okay. Um, but I mean, if they if it does go through and we do see Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker come back, we will be discussing it. I mean, I wonder what kind of price tag they're gonna give them. I mean, 20 million for the last movie and then they offer them only eight million for this movie. Like the money's supposed to gradually stack up, but you know, it is what it is, right? Like Rush Hour has not been in the public eye for years. So it's it's one of those things that it's still a risk. And maybe eight million could be like the start, but if it does really good and have some more money in the back end, it just depends. Uh it just shows what kind of confidence they probably have with this film compared to what we were getting with like scary movie six. Like a lot of people were like, Oh yeah, they're gonna come back, but they're coming back strong. And Rush Hour 4, it seems like they're like, Oh yeah, they're gonna come back, but they're a little they're a little scared to come back. They they don't even know if they want to put the money behind it. All cause our president wants it.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, because our president is exactly and if he wanted it that bad, he'd flesh out cash for it. That's it. Full circle moment.

SPEAKER_01

Trump writes the script and everything. Oh my god, please don't.

SPEAKER_02

I ain't asking for that much. I'm asking him to pay for the production of everything.

SPEAKER_01

Let us know what you guys think, though. Rush hour for possibly in limbo, or you know, it could just be a deal hardball right now. We'll have to wait and see. Let us know what you guys think. Moving on, moving on, Josh. We have our first not official, but apparently this is what's been rumored. I do have the the fake one if you want to see the actual like fake picture. But this is a more clear version of what we're basically getting from that fake version. We're getting a Superman slash brainiac uh symbol, which it seems like it's being created for man of tomorrow. Somebody spelled tomorrow up here very poorly. Um, but they they basically recreated it. Like I said, there is a picture out there, uh a leaked photo of what this logo looks like, and it looks like they just kind of enhanced it, and this is what we're getting. I'm not gonna say anything just yet, Josh. I want to know your thoughts on what you think um of this logo so far.

SPEAKER_02

I still hate this S, dude. Or the shield. I hate this fucking emblem. I hate everything that it I just hate the way the looks. Um I mean, other than that, that's about it. I mean, you can change the color, you can fucking do anything like this, but the fundamental like S that the Superman wears is ugly. And Brainiac, you know, Brainiac is apparently tied to this because he's gonna want to use the last Kryptonians for some shit, but other than that, that's about it. I mean, I have really nothing else to say outside of that this looks ugly.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Well, let me see if I can provoke something out of you. What does the symbol remind you of? Because I know when I seen it, it reminded me of something heavy.

SPEAKER_02

I'm not too sure. I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

Um, about ten years ago, in twenty sixteen, a little movie was released called Batman vs. Superman or Batman v Superman. And we had a logo, right? Uh let me show you what the logo kind of looked like. It looks something like this. Superman in the center, Batman in the background. Clearly, we're trying to show you the PVS. This is what we're gonna be getting within the movie. Here we're going by the same the same plan. We we got the brainiac, we got the Superman. Cool, we understand. Why do I feel like we're going through cheap knockoff territory when it comes to these movies, right? We get to Superman 2025, apparently we're we're getting a BBS knockoff. It's about it's about the same story, but it's dumbed down and for kids, and it is what it is, right? Because we can make a clone Superman, but we cannot figure out his secret identity. Right. Um, but at the end of the day, right, we've been kind of saying this for a while, and here we are again with another step in that direction of what looks to be a c very on its very own copycat of what we got before with the BBS Superman symbol, Batman Superman. Now we're getting this Superman Brainiac symbol. Now the thing that I have an issue with with this one is that they're kind of promoting it as if it's a team up between Brainiac and Superman. Right? BBS had that logo to kind of promote, like, yeah, BBS, and they didn't even put the verses, they put V as in like, you know, lawyer talking, you know, uh the community, V defendant, whatever it is supposed to be. That's what they basically. Did and they're basically taking that and running with it in a different direction, as if like Brainiac and Superman are supposed to be linked in a superhero team up type form. I don't know. This is kind of it's a weird copycat because it's like it's not they're doing it because it was created at one point and it was cool and people fucked with it, but again, they're doing it again just because people fucked with it. Not very much to, in my opinion, give a really good reason to do it.

SPEAKER_02

Right. I mean this that could totally be true. I mean, maybe they end up maybe he ends up under his mind control or something, you know, and that's kind of what this is all about. I mean, I just if everything he does is in Zack Snyder's shadow, then he's a pathetic man and he needs to he should quit, you know. But obviously he's not gonna admit that, you know.

SPEAKER_01

What in the fidget spinner is this? Somebody said. Um I don't know. I don't know. This one now, I like I said, this is all this is a recreated photo. There's a leaked one out there that kind of looks like this, but it's not as high quality and whatnot. Obviously, it looks, I think somebody probably used AI to probably enhance it. I mean, you can kind of tell this side is warped compared to the rest of it. But I I do agree that the Superman logo is ugly. I don't like the whole Z-looking S. That's always been kind of a bad thing. Um the the little Brainiac symbol on the side. I mean, it's one of those things where it's like when BBS was coming out, you kind of needed to let people know, like, hey, yeah, Batman versus Superman is gonna be in this one. Shouldn't just the Superman logo be out there and maybe like Brainiac saying something in the background during a during a trailer or something? Like it shouldn't be, oh, here's Superman's logo, and then boom, Brainiac's right behind it. Because what that to me, this kind of says, Oh, they're gonna go at it, Lex Luthor is gonna be in the mix, and then at the end of it, Brainiac's gonna side with Superman and go against Lex Luther because Lex Luther is just gonna be apparently more villainous.

SPEAKER_02

Maybe. Probably.

SPEAKER_01

If that maybe like looked at each other and they're just like, Oh, we gotta kill this motherfucker.

SPEAKER_02

We gotta kill the only human making sense. I I don't know, name. I don't know. This just looks funky. I can't even like like I know what you're trying to say. I understand that completely. I just think this is an ugly way to go about it. I mean, they could totally keep up because totally be like, hey, you know, uh spare earth and I'll work with you, or some shit like that. And but I don't know. I don't think James Good would ever paint him in that light. That's the thing. He'll paint him as a you know, as an immigrant that kind of hates his heritage, but he won't do some shit like that.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, okay. So you kind of think that this is kind of like a a pussy footing kind of thing still, like it's yeah, like you're telling us that this is what is gonna happen, but we don't even think we're gonna drive that needle that far. Right? Like we don't we don't know if we're gonna even reach those depths, especially with Superman 2025 being like how like I said in the beginning was a lot of people seem to kind of compare it to BBS and a watered-down version of that movie. Exactly. So are we gonna get a watered-down version of Man of Tomorrow as well?

SPEAKER_02

Probably. Probably.

SPEAKER_01

Let us know what you guys think though. Check out the logo. Um, I mean, Brainiac, Superman. I mean, we we kind of figured uh we had the little teasers from the scripts and whatnot, and here we're getting official logos or unofficial logos, leaked photos of unofficial logos of what could be Superman and Brainiac, and I mean, I just find it ugly. Like at the end of it, if we're gonna get like a Superman flash, and then right behind it is gonna be like the Brainiac symbol's gonna illuminate behind it, like look what's coming. I seems kind of lame to me.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, you're yeah, you're right. Yeah, lame as fuck. That's the thing. Yeah, that's the problem.

SPEAKER_01

Let us know what you guys think, though. Moving on, Josh. Trouble at DC Land, DC Universe. I don't know. Lantern's trailer has been officially yanked from HBO Max, DC, and Warner Brothers channels on YouTube. You can't find this trailer anywhere, and I'm gonna prove it to you because I looked it up myself. You could find it on you know secondary sites like Movie Phone, um, Kinocheck. Like you could see the trailer because they obviously downloaded it, kept it, and put it on their own page. But HBO Max is not around, it's not you don't have a DC official nothing. Um, if I type in DC trailers, you'll get Clayface, you get Supergirl, you even get Spider-Man No Wars, not even DC, but no Green Lantern in sight, no Green Lantern in sight whatsoever. You can only see this trailer now on James Gunn Socials. Josh, what the fuck does this mean? You can't see the trailer anymore. It's gone. Except for James Gunn Socials. What is that?

SPEAKER_02

Is that is that because of backlash?

SPEAKER_03

I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

What kind of what kind of business model is that? What oh yeah, man, you know, you know where you can watch this bitch on it on James Gunn's Instagram, on his threads, on his Twitter, on his fucking TikTok. But I can't watch it on YouTube. What? I I don't know what business model that is. That's crazy. I've never heard of that. That's crazy.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Um so it according to this article, obviously, um, we did have that issue where the trailer did um leak first, and then it was kind of um put out because of the leaked uh version, and a lot of people were kind of already breaking that down, and that the trailer wound up coming out uh kind of like I believe like a week later or so, uh something like that. We got like a little teaser and then we wound up getting the trailer like about a week to two weeks later. I this is very uh this is very concerning behavior. I I don't feel like this is something that is um to be taken lightly, especially with everything that's going on. I it's weird that like I said, it's not any other DC thing. I mean, we literally have a clayface trailer, which we're gonna react to in a little bit. Um, but a lantern trailer being pulled uh after it's been out for like about a month already.

SPEAKER_02

That's weird. I don't know what the practice is.

SPEAKER_01

It's a little fishy, my boy. It's a little fishy.

SPEAKER_02

Unless the trailer was getting like mountains of backlash on YouTube. I can't see a reason for this.

SPEAKER_01

And they just pulled it down? They listed it as private, it says here. So I mean it's there, but it's just private. Yep. James Gunn socials, you can find it on the other stuff, but not on DC.

SPEAKER_02

That's crazy. I don't know. I don't know what the I don't know what that is.

SPEAKER_01

I wonder why they didn't strike the the the people that reacted to it then.

SPEAKER_02

Maybe it got as little publicity as it did with it, and then after that they were probably like, well, they can have it up, but there's no point in striking them, and then boom, that's it.

SPEAKER_01

Maybe. Maybe I'm I'm trying to see if this kind of relates to kind of uh to the whole thing where like you remember when Zack Snyder was trying to put a Green Lantern in the end of Zack Snyder's Justice League, but then they said no you can't do that, and then you had to put Martian Man Thunder. Like, are we getting to that same point again where it's like we we dig the lanterns thing, we know it's for the DCU, but we don't want it to go any further. And if you put out this show, it'll lead you, you know, kind of like what uh what James Gunn did, right? Like at the end of the DCU, he just kind of made somebody eating a roach at the end of the credits, and then we we canned bat batgirl and all that stuff. The Else World stuff or wherever the DCU was running to basically got halted in real time. Like we saw everything either get tax write-off or you know, HBO was like, you can't use that, we're gonna use it for a different show because you're you're basically getting canned. Are we at that point again with the DCU already where it's like we have to halt stuff? We need to know we can't put this out because if we put this out in the way that it is, that kind of teases more to come and we don't have more to come.

SPEAKER_02

Right. Right. I mean, maybe I don't that's the thing. I think I think kind of shooting yourself in the foot again with a potential lantern or potentially with lanterns screams a lot about what's happening back there, but at the same time, like I don't know if anyone really cares for this adaptation or show or whatever.

SPEAKER_01

So it's been kind of get dragged, it's been dragged through the mud kind of m kind of bit. So I mean exactly.

SPEAKER_02

So 50-50 chance that this is either good or bad.

SPEAKER_01

It's crazy. It's crazy to me.

SPEAKER_02

I can't DC is just never seen that before.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, it's weird. Like I said, it's been out for a month. So for it to be out for a month, like I said, there's other reaction channels to it, there's other channels that have it, the whole trailer in its entirety. It's not like you can hide the trailer at this point, so why would we take it down?

SPEAKER_04

Hmm. Right.

SPEAKER_01

We have to wait for more information, but at least right now, things are kind of looking weird. We got, like I said, we got this trailer being pulled, got the man of tomorrow logo, um, kind of looking a little funky. P at least on the online, from what I'm seeing, people are not digging where this stuff is going. And I don't know if that's paramount getting in the way because the merger is supposed to be um coming through pretty soon, and they're like, hey, this is just not working for us, it's not gonna work for us in the long run. We need to get rid of it. Boom, boom, boom. I I I don't know. Maybe they're gonna rework it, change something up. Like I said, DCU did that, they had to completely make it to to let people know there will be no more to come, right? I think at the end of the flash as well, they changed that. Um, it was supposed to see at one point we were supposed to see Michael Keaton, at one point we're supposed to see Sasha Kaye, at one point we were supposed to see uh Henry Cavill and Wonder Woman, right? Like and Gal Godot. So, I mean, there were so many different iterations that were gonna happen at the end of that. I mean, they could change it up till the very end with this one as well. Hopefully, that's not the case. Hopefully, we get a good show in its entirety. But as of right now, DC's in the air, Warner Brothers is in the air, Paramount's still trying to figure out how to do financing for rush hour four. Things are just so wrong right now. Let me just tell you right now, things are not going as it should. Let us know what you guys think, though. Moving on, Josh Top Gun 3. Tom Cruise is going to have to go ahead without uh Joseph Krasinski. Um now he was the one who made F1. He was also the powerhouse that brought back Tom Cruise and Top Gun in its full glory to the big screen, like we've talked about before. I've not I was not lucky enough to grace my eyes with Top Gun 2 on the big screen. But Josh, he loved me enough to get me the physical copies. I wound up watching it at home, and I said, hey man, this is this is great. Can't wait to see the next one. Um Joseph uh Kacinski went on to do F1. Apparently, he's working on F2. It doesn't seem like he's going to be making it for a Top Gun Round 3. Uh Tom Cruise is gonna be an issue actively looking for another director to basically helm that, especially a director that is gonna be on par with what Joseph Kaczynski was basically doing, especially uh what we saw with F1 as well. He seems to have an eye for this kind of stuff. It's gonna be kind of hard to move on from his kind of style when it comes to Top Gun 3. Uh, I know a lot of people are saying that he might just go back to Christopher McQuery, but I don't think he shoots beautiful scenes like what we saw in Top Gun 2. So, I mean, if he goes to him, action-wise, probably be awesome. We'll probably see some good fighter jets, but I don't think we're gonna get those beautiful touching scenes that we got in like in the beginning of Top Gun 2 in the middle of uh of the dog fights and all that stuff, like those moments that let you sit with it. I don't know if we're gonna get those kinds of moments again with a Christopher McQuery uh directed film. I don't know, Josh. Uh, we're not getting a Joseph Kaczynski for uh for Top Gun 3. Who do you think could do it? And I mean, what do you what are your thoughts on possibly a Christopher McQuery Top Gun 3?

SPEAKER_02

I don't know who could do it. I think the best option is leaving the leaving the fucking store, you know what I mean? Like that second one was so good in theaters, dude. It was like it was beautifully shot, and it was just you just had everything from story to emotion to fucking writing to directing, like all that stuff. It was really good. It was a fucking solid film. I don't know who could do the third one, and still try and capture all that.

SPEAKER_01

You you don't you don't uh you're not a Christopher McQuery believer, like some people say no, he did great, he did good.

SPEAKER_02

I mean uh the mission impossible movies are good. I just think you're right. I don't think you can pull uh shit like that off. I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, because I can't I think the only movie that I think and I it's probably I we have our Mission Impossible rankings out there, but I think the only beautiful one that I think McQuery kind of did was probably what is it? It goes with protocol no AI, the AI one, the last one, but when when they were in the water, like that was that was a beautiful shot. But I can't think of any other one that was like beautiful Oh, the ending of Fallout with the sunrise, that was that was pretty nice. But that was about it. Can't think of any more.

SPEAKER_02

If I if I had to get a replacement, give it to Justin Lynn.

SPEAKER_01

The director of the Fast and the Furious movies? What the hell?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

You want him you want him to drift the the airplane?

SPEAKER_02

The car scenes are good. Can't even be mad.

SPEAKER_01

I don't think Tom Cruise would work with Justin Lynn.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know. He doesn't seem like a Justin Lynn believer.

SPEAKER_02

Maybe Justin Lynn isn't a Tom Cruise believer. I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

Um it would be out of his element and it'll be something new and different, and maybe he can make something out of it. Ryan Kugler could probably do it.

SPEAKER_02

I don't think Ryan Kugler would want to work with Tom Cruise.

SPEAKER_01

Probably not. Well, maybe. Maybe. What happened to Glen Powell? Where is Glenn Powell? He'll be back for Top Gun 3.

SPEAKER_02

Right, right. He'll probably be there. Like that's the thing. If we can get the all the crew back, I mean that'd be cool. But what you get him, you get Miles Teller, you get fucking uh played Bob.

SPEAKER_01

Miles Teller needs to come back.

SPEAKER_02

Exactly, yeah. See? So I mean the cat the original OG cast can probably still do one more movie and then you know, newer crew show up and all that stuff, but I wouldn't want to see the people that we kind of fell in love with in the second one vanish, you know, because they were great. Everybody had great dynamic there.

SPEAKER_01

One last name, maybe Steven Spielberg does it for his last movie.

SPEAKER_02

Steven Spielberg.

SPEAKER_01

I know he was he basically was like praising Tom Cruise not too long ago as well. I think he he he was literally saying like saying that he saved Hollywood.

SPEAKER_02

So I mean if we're doing strictly like like if we're looking for nothing but the spectacle of like flying and stuff, I mean we get Sam Hargrave, uh who did the John Wick movies?

SPEAKER_01

Action and all that stuff. I'm I mean I was thinking Sam Hargrave and all that stuff, um, even like Chad Stelinsky, like action was I think they could probably pull it off, but like I said, where where are we gonna get a director that gives you the action? Gives you the feeling of being in the cockpit. Not I mean you saw F1, I didn't see F1, but I heard a lot of people say like the the way that he kind of like would do the camera work and how like the it would be from like the cockpit to the cars, like it would just feel like a rush. Like I don't know who can capture that just as great as what we got with at least for me, Top Gun 2. You have two references to go with. I I only got the one, but at least with that one, like the way it was shot and the way that it was led to breathe and all that stuff, like we could only only a few directors can do that, and I don't uh I it's hard to think of who could probably do it.

SPEAKER_02

Tom Cruise is gonna have to pick widely, that's the point.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's like yeah, that's the only thing, and then obviously you need to have somebody who can you know bend to your needs as well, because we know that Tom Cruise is somebody who he doesn't just okay, give me the script, right? Like it's it's I want to be part of the script, I want to be part of the production, I'm going to be part of you know where we're shooting, the locations, the costume design. Like Tom Cruise is integrated into every little part, so it has to be one of those things too of like who could work with Tom Cruise as well. And his Scientology cult behind him. I don't know. We'll have to wait and see. Let us know what you guys think. Um, Tom Top Gun 3 uh is going to happen, but unfortunately not with a director that basically I would have to say a lot of people fell in love with when it came to Top Gun 2. Um, I think a lot of people love Top Gun 1, obviously. It's a classic, it's always gonna be amazing. But Top Gun 2 basically elevated that to 10, and we got something amazing out of it. Um, especially right after COVID, all that good stuff. Like it basically it was true. It basically brought Hollywood back from what we thought was uh unfortunately a grave that it was gonna be lying in for a good long time. So I can't wait to see what happens with Top Gun 3. Hopefully we get a good director. Um, and it's not just uh uh Tom Cruise Fest, right? Like Tom Cruise is gonna be like, fine, I'll do it myself, and just basically direct it on his own, right? Uh let us know what you guys think. Josh, we'll start off with the trailer. The trailer that everybody has been kind of talking about. Um, Clayface. Now we do have, like I said, some issues in the DC universe. Uh Lantern's trailer has been pulled, Supergirl trailer has been uh being ripped has been ripped to shreds. Uh it's been going through some reshoots that a lot of people have been talking about online um to basically fix fix it up, put more David Cordsweat in there as Superman and whatnot. Um James Gunn did say about these DC DC DCU movies, whatever you want to call them, uh that there would be different tones, right? And all these things would uh kind of go off to video games, television, and all that stuff, and you'll be able to have the different tones and have different characters within those, but then you'll also be able to have them to cross over and XYZ, XYZ, XYZ. Um, we do know that this movie is a Matt Reeves uh bred film. Uh Matt Reeves was the one who wrote the script, I believe, or uh was helping with the production um and basically gave it to James Gunn to put it within his DCU. Maybe he thought it was too uh fantastical for a Batman uh Robert Patterson Batman movie. Maybe he was like swindled by James Gunn to give it to him. Who who knows? I don't know. Uh, but there is a lot to cover when it comes down to DC as of right now, especially like I said, with the whole merger and all that stuff. This movie seems to be going in that different tone direction. But we asked we often we also have to remember we did see clayface at one point as well, right? We saw him in Creature Commandos, and that was a very goofy iteration. We saw him um in his mother's basement playing video games, I think it was Mortal Kombat, um, and he basically got his shit pushed in by Rick Flag. Um, that was the last time we saw Clayface, that was the first time we saw Clayface. Uh I gotta be honest, I've seen the actor for this movie. He does not look like the guy we saw in Creature Commandos. How connected can this movie be? What are we expecting, Josh? Uh balls in your court, man. I need to hear from you.

SPEAKER_02

I'm not sure what to expect. I think this might be just down the same vein of like Sony villain spin offs where we don't get a Batman. Same way we didn't get a Spider Man, you know what I mean? Like that this movie could totally be that, you know.

SPEAKER_01

Mm-hmm. And so What what do you think about seeing them in Creature Commandos and now seeing them in a live action movie like this?

SPEAKER_02

I don't think it's that big of a deal. I mean I the if this is the fucking beginning and Clayface died in Creature Commandos, I mean I guess we got to see his end. So I guess I won't really have to care for him and his journey. Because what do we what do Oh he it's he's tragically a bad guy, you know? But then he does evil shit. Like and I can't feel bad for him anymore.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know if it kind of causes a problem, but you just reminded me. Um, and I kind of thought about it and I was trying to think of this as an issue, but James Gunn did confirm that this is a prequel, that this is before Superman. And Creature Commandos was before Superman as well, right? So wouldn't this be around that time?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Oh, I can't become an act, I can't be an actor, so let me work for Man of Waller.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know. But he did confirm that though, that this is before Superman, that this is before all that stuff. So I mean I don't know. Does that change a little bit before we jump into this trailer?

SPEAKER_02

Not really, no.

SPEAKER_01

No? Alright, well let's jump in, let's check it out, and I mean, we'll make a better comparison by the end of it, so I'm not sure. Um this one they're keeping with the DCU tagline. I believe Superman was look up, Supergirls Look Out, and this one is Look Fear in the Face. We're really keeping with the with the look trend. I I appreciate it, I think, a little bit. Um very dark, very different. We'll have to say very Matt Reeves encoded. Um I like it for the eeriness, I like it for what we're getting. Do I like it in the grand scale of a DCU movie? No, but I do like it. I honestly would probably prefer this fitting in with uh with with Matt Reeves, with Pattinson's Batman a little bit.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, yeah, because I mean that was kind of the intention. Dude, this just like I said, this to me, this just feels like Joker, Boba Clayface. Um I'm not really moved.

SPEAKER_01

You know what? Um I don't feel like it's like Joker. I feel like it's I feel like it's Matt Reeves. I feel like it's in his universe. I don't feel like it's a a j like if you made a Joker movie with Barry Cohegan in this tone and everything, you would almost definitely be like, this is a Matt Reeves movie. But just because it's a different actor, different character, probably a character that he probably deemed a little too fantastical for his world, but this very much seems like this like he made it for his world and James gonna just kind of adopt it. That this doesn't feel like that creature commandos playface. I know we only got like a minute teaser, but already off the tone and everything, it doesn't feel like what we got. And if this is completely different, I don't know. This might be just a ploy, in my opinion, and this is I'm just gonna leave it here on my end. We'll get your part right now. This might just be a ploy to basically see if people can handle that fantastical part in Matt Reeves universe, and this probably might just morph into his side, might be part of his his little DC universe.

SPEAKER_02

Maybe, or like I said, it just it flops and it ends up being like compared to Joker, Joker 2, Sony level of bad. That's the thing. Like I said, the bar is in hell if you uh to be better than a Sony cinematic universe movie, the movie just has to be good. Didn't you like to mean I doesn't mean I don't know the impact that it had on DC as a whole.

SPEAKER_01

Well like but I mean if anybody's been doing like villain movies better. I mean, you can I don't think you can compare DC to Sony. I feel like when I mean Brightburn came out, that one was pretty cool. Like I was in DC. I know it's not a DC movie, but I mean like Warner Brothers can make horror movies when it comes down to like superhero stuff and it feels like its own thing. It doesn't have to feel like something else, you know. Um that's what I'm saying, like even with this one, it feels super distinct, and the distinction goes to Matt Reeves, unfortunately. Um but I if shit, if people like it, I gotta check the comments real quick in the comments. It's crazy that any Batman villain can straight up be a horror character. First DCU horror film. Are we back, DC? He's not in the OMG, he's not in the bathtub, he is the bathtub. I don't know. Uh it looks good. I I would personally watch it as its own solo thing, but if we're exactly that, if we're connecting it to a grander DCU, I don't think I don't think it could fucks with it as as heavy as as its own thing, or maybe you know, maybe in my own mind I could just put it with Matt Reeves and just leave it at that.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I mean, I don't know. I still don't that's the thing. You have too much you have way you have higher hopes now than I do because this just feels like Joker with extra steps.

SPEAKER_01

No, I don't know. That seems kind of simple. Matt I like I I would like for you to dig into that if you can, but I I don't know where you're getting that from.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, okay, okay, okay. Origin for a bad guy. Okay, that's one.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

The only difference that I see between these two is that that Joker wasn't Joker, he was, you know, they gave him that nickname because you know he was a bad joker, you know, he was bad at joking, he was bad at jokes, stand-up comedy. So these two are kind of down the same path of failed performer, something happens to them, once where they're they get fucked up and it's dramatic and all that stuff. The only difference is this one actually gets powers. And not a s probably not a mention of Batman. I don't even but think we'll get a Batman.

SPEAKER_01

I I think that's where it deviates, though. That's that's why it's like this one actually gets his powers. I mean, you're we kind of got a glimpse of what um clayface is with the little uh science thing where it was like bubbling this thing right here. Or it's like bubble. I mean will it be clayface? I don't know, especially because like everything that we saw was just like his face morphing. And maybe we got the little like like this part right here. Like all we saw was his face morph. Oh yeah, you could you could be right. You could be right where this could just be like a mental thing where like his face gets fucked up and mentally he thinks he's becoming clayface, but I mean if it's in the DCU then he has to actually be clayface at one point. So maybe maybe that's where it tweaked, right? Maybe it started off for Matt Reeves as like, oh, he's crazy because he thinks he's morphing and he could change into other people and blah blah blah blah. But he's actually losing his mind, and the only way that they could attach it to the DCU is actually put his powers into the movie, right? Because I gotta say, this piece right here where he's in the tub seems completely different than uh what we're getting with this little scientific thing and this little in this little office thing. That where you say Sony, this part screams Sony, the hallway screams Sony, where like hit him in the tub dealing with like whatever's going on with his face and everything feels Warner Brothers and WB and sophisticated. I don't know man, I think we need a longer trailer, but I see where you're coming from. I understand you a little bit, but uh we need a little bit more evidence before you can deem it as the same as what the Joker put out and stuff like that. Maybe we get something better, maybe we get something better. I don't know whet whether or not it's gonna merge well with the DCU. I think that's the only one thing, too, or before we move on, is that like when we get two movies, right? Like we got two different train tracks. We got the DCU, we got Matt Reeves universe, and we can put a movie right in the center, and then the problem is is that the fandom, if we don't have a definitive Batman or like a definitive like Superman in there, the fandom gets to choose where that movie's gonna lie, right? So like if it's not good enough to where they feel like, oh, it should be with the DCU, they're gonna make an outrage and be like, that's Matt Reeves clayface, right? And it'll be like if you try to merge it with the DCU, that's already friction, right? Because a lot of people are gonna be like, Well, it should have just been with Matt Reeves, kind of like you know, um uh Anthony Mackey getting the shield instead of Sebastian Stan, right?

SPEAKER_02

Oh my goodness, yes. I I I suppose it's the same thing, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, okay. All right. Let us know what you guys think though. Check out the clayface trailer, it's out right now. We'll be waiting for a real trailer to come out. Um the teaser, just I mean, it gives us a lot of questions that just need to be uh analyzed a little bit more thoroughly, and it's just not enough just yet. So we'll have to wait and see. But give us your thoughts. Uh moving on, Josh. We do have the Coyote and Acme trailer. This trailer has been in the making for a couple of years. It's been canned, it's been uh shelved, it's been uh picked up, dropped again, Netflix picked it up, threw it away. It's been all over the place. Now it's finally happening. Coyote and Acme is gonna see the light of day. We're gonna see it on the big screen potentially. This is one of the ones that a lot of people on the internet are like, you better go watch this movie. You know, there was a lot of people that were petitioning for this movie uh to be released, and now that it's happening, a lot of people are saying, go watch this movie. So let's check it out. We John Cena's in this one. Uh it's a Looney Tunes film with John Cena. That's basically it. Let's go. Let's go. I know that's not very appealing to you, Josh, but hopefully the Looney Tunes aspects helped you. That seems like a cute little movie. That's nice. It's it's supposed to be Coyote basically suing the the the shop the shop that makes the parts for him to try to get his jobs done, but keeps getting him hurt, and it's probably his fault, but probably the fault of faulty machinery. I it's funny in concept. I can understand why it took forever for it to come out. Can it be funny? Yes, but I don't think a lot of kids want to see lawyer talk with their looney tunes. Just say.

SPEAKER_02

No, but I think that's the beauty of it, because you know it's not gonna take it so seriously. I like this. This was fun.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it looks fun. I'm down for it.

SPEAKER_02

I I I wish it was Brendan Frazier.

SPEAKER_01

It took a while for it to come out.

SPEAKER_02

Oh yeah, because that shit looks good. That shit looks good. It does look good. I I wish it was I wish it was Brendan Fraser. I'm not gonna lie.

SPEAKER_01

Look, he made a staple for himself with the Looney Tune stuff, but it's just not gonna happen ever again, I don't think.

SPEAKER_02

John Cena being a part of it is probably the only thing that kills it for me, I'm not gonna lie.

SPEAKER_01

But you can't see him.

SPEAKER_02

I saw him right there in an ugly suit and a wig. Or not a wig, hair transplant somewhere.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that's true. Um, looks good. I'm down for it. Um I think it's funny that uh I think it's hilarious the taglines that they were using. Uh the little disc in the beginning is funny. What did it say? I didn't even get to read the whole thing. It goes VBS films, catch up entertainment, and then like when the Warner Brothers logo comes up. A wholly owned subsidiary of Acme, of the Acme Corporation is basically saying that Warner Brothers themselves did not want you to see this movie because Acme runs it. So Zaslov? Is this true? Are you owned by Acme? Are you undercover, sir? Were you like, no, they cannot see this movie because they're gonna know our plans? I don't know. I don't know. Let us know what you guys think though. Check out the trailer, Coyote and Acme looks fun, looks cute, but will will my kids like it? I don't know. Same thing. I think the Brandon Fraser one kind of like encapsulates the Looney Tunes craziness and all that stuff without the lawyer talk. I do like the lawyer talk, it sounds like fun, but for a kid's movie, I don't know how well it's gonna go over. So that's just that's just something that I I think I have an issue with with this movie, but I'm still down for it. I'm down to watch it. I'd watch this one before the sheep movie, but you know, it is what it is. Let us know what you guys think about.

SPEAKER_02

The sheep movie. That's crazy.

SPEAKER_01

Um moving on, moving on, Josh. We got a red band trailer for idiots. Um, we got Dave Franco and Ice Cube's son.

SPEAKER_02

O'Shea Jackson Jr. O'Shea. That's so hard for you to say.

SPEAKER_01

I do Ice Cube son, O'Shea Jackson Jr.

SPEAKER_02

Right. Okay. See, that's fine. That works.

SPEAKER_01

So Ice Cube Son's gonna be in this movie. I seen him basically uh troll people because uh he was like on Twitter posting stuff, I believe like a year ago, and uh somebody was like, Oh, you instead of posting on Twitter, you should probably go get a movie role. He posted him on a movie set. This is the movie that he trolled the people with that he was apparently doing. So let's see if it's worth our time. Let's see if it's funny enough. It is supposed to be a comedy. Like I said, Dave Franco is also in here with Ice Cube Sun, so it has to be decent, right? And you know what? I gotta just be honest before we start the show that I would have a little bit more respect too if Den of Thieves 2 was a little bit better, but it wasn't.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, but we like Den of Thieves 1, alright? So we're chilling.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but then in Den of Thieves 2, he climbs an unrealistic wall.

SPEAKER_02

Maybe he's funny. Maybe he's funnier, maybe he's meant to be comedic.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, yeah, the for draft day? Yeah, I saw that.

unknown

Okay, all right.

SPEAKER_01

Well, let's jump into this one. Looks funny. Off the little funny.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

It must be funny. I mean, it was just little clippers of cursing and you know, random shit happening and moans, but you know, I Eric Kripke could probably do this with a uh with a season of the boys and be like, oh, this is gonna be our nastiest one yet. So maybe we need a full trailer, but from what we saw, it was funny.

SPEAKER_02

So yeah, I like that. That was pretty funny. Dave Franco looks so much like James now, it's crazy.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah. He's growing into his final form.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, but I think that's cool. I like that. That was that was funny. I like that.

SPEAKER_01

I'd be down for it. Um, not much to really go off of. We don't really know the story. It just seems like uh they they're a couple of idiots that get into a bunch of different mishaps throughout the day. Uh maybe they have to accomplish a mission. It looked like they're doing some kind of service, so they probably I want to think it's kind of like uh what's it called? Um Pineapple Express, where you start off with his job, he's doing his job, and then his job gets him wrapped up into some problems, and then you gotta basically make it all the way out at the end of the book. So it looks like fun. I would be down for it. This is the kind of movies that we need. I think we need more of uh just a bunch of like raunchy comedy. So if this is gonna go down that path, I'm I'm for it. I'm this is this is exactly what we need in this time. Um Scary Movie 6 is about to like completely bust open the mold that the 2020s have basically put us in. So I can't wait for that. Let us know what you guys think. Idiots out right now on YouTube. Let us know what you guys think. Moving on. Last trailer, Josh. For Evil Dead Burn. We also have a uh a release date for Evil Dead Wrath that's supposed to be coming out in 2027. Uh they are really, you know, they're really gun hoing this franchise. Um Evil Dead Rise did well in the box office. I personally did not like it as much as I did um Evil Dead, the the 2010 one. That one was just bonkers. I like I said, Rise was cool. I know you really enjoyed it. Um I I believe, right? We did a review for that one as well, but I believe you really enjoyed that one when it came out. Um here we are with Evil Dead Burn, and then eventually Evil Dead Wrath is gonna come out in a couple of years. Josh, I'm kind of skeptical about this one. For me, because of the of the last one. Um I know a lot of people were like, oh, you know, the the main villain, the girl, she was like a mother to them. They were like, Oh yeah, she can murder me any way that she wants. But uh a lot of it was, you know, uh like I said, compared to the 2010 one, I don't think Rise met that standard. I did think that it did work. Well, and it was cool. The ending was pretty cool when they morphed together, but I do think I want more of the 2010 version, a lot of blood, a lot of gore, um, not a lot of opportunities to to just kill people, and that's basically it. You know what I mean? Like we this franchise is made for gore and the killing, but I don't think that that's just all right. Like I Evil Dead 2010. I you could go all the way back to the original Evil Dead. It's like that was uh you know, they were there for a mission, and then obviously things go sideways. It's not just the the entity possesses people just because they're you know they're in a haunted house or something, right? Like it they it it preys on the person's vulnerabilities, right? And we kind of got that with burn, but I don't feel like they sent it all the way through. Uh not burn, rise, sorry.

SPEAKER_02

Rise. Well, looking up who who did it, dude. Lee Cronin did that one, and I didn't mind it, you know. But I can tell you mummy one, so yeah, Lee Cronin is no uh who did the who did the other one? What was his name?

SPEAKER_01

Rise.

SPEAKER_02

Uh Freddy, he's not Feddy Alvarez.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, Freddy Alvarez, yeah. He's the one who did Evil Dead 2010.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, he's not Feddy Alvarez. So I I I can agree with you that it didn't hold up, but I still I managed to enjoy it for what it was. So maybe we gotta we got a real poor head kind of guy for this one, maybe.

SPEAKER_01

Uh director Sebastian Venick Venich. Do we know who that is?

SPEAKER_02

No, he wrote for Mayday Crocs Vermons. So I mean it looks like he's had some kind of poor background.

SPEAKER_01

Um Crocs? That's a short evil dead burn. Yeah, no, he has a small filmography, but he has not done much. He he directed Infested, and uh that was back in 2023. Well, hopefully this one's good. Um again, no Fede Alvarez here, but you know, we hopefully we get something. No James Wan.

SPEAKER_02

No James Wan.

SPEAKER_01

No James Wan.

SPEAKER_02

Hopefully this movie is good.

SPEAKER_01

Alright, alright. A little skeptical now. A real skeptical now. Let's jump into it. Let's see what happens. Um, not too much. I don't think any of these people are gonna make it throughout the movie. I don't think they're like the stars. Um, I think that's probably gonna be like the beginning of the movie. Uh looks cool. I mean, you just didn't really get too much. Like I said, this is one of those that is not really driving the appeal forward. It's just more like, oh yeah, they gotta be possessed and they gotta be killing people, and that'll sell the movie. And I mean, if it sells it for you, Josh, I'm happy for you. But we gotta do better than just the bare minimum.

SPEAKER_02

Come on, man. Betty Alvarez wasn't really that big when he did his first Evil Dead, okay? This guy could be doing it, doing it right.

SPEAKER_01

But look where he's at now, okay? And we got like I said, we gotta be honest. When you saw Evil Dead 2010, you knew that movie was different. You knew that movie was uh they was just made different. When you see Evil Dead Rise, it's good, it's made different, it's it's it's a nice addition to the to the to the movies, but it just did not get to that bar that Evil Dead 2010 basically set for it, right? Because I mean you can watch the older ones, those are good, they're classics, they're cult classics, I love them. But those compared to the 2010 one, we gotta be honest, that's that's the bar. Rise did not rise to the occasion. Burn does not look like it's trying to do any better than what Rise did, because Rise was good enough. And I mean, is it good enough? Yes, for now, but then eventually we're gonna have to get to that point where it's like colorful, bloody, gory, all of that stuff. Because that's what made Evil Dead what it was. I think the color scheme is also another thing, and there was no color in this trailer, it was actually very much void of color. I believe Rise is kind of like the same thing too. No, it looks more of uh insidious ripoff, and then if you look like Evil Dead 2010, it feels like the Evil Dead universe. It feels like within the smoky that that era of like just vile stuff around it. These ones seem more of like, like I said, insidious, horror house. There's gonna be murders, there's gonna be killings, yes. That's just it comes with the territory. I don't know. I don't want to be an evil dead downer. I want this to be amazing.

SPEAKER_02

Don't well I'm gonna hold your hand, I'm gonna hold your hand when you say this, or when I say this, because it sounds like you are.

SPEAKER_01

I know, I know, but it's because I have high hopes, and it just is not giving me the highest hopes right now. What's up with that?

SPEAKER_02

I don't know. I think you're a hater. I I that's the thing.

SPEAKER_01

Unless we unless it's like hate, that's it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I think you're not gonna that's the thing. I understand that the bar is the bar, but I don't think you can knock something for from a teaser teaser trailer alone and be like, it's not up to the highs yet. It's like we hasn't even launched, this is nothing. I'm excited. I can't wait.

SPEAKER_01

That trailer was able to capture you and make you want to watch those movies. This trailer does not make you want to go watch those movies. They want they make you want to see another trailer to hopefully pull you in a little bit more. I don't feel like this trailer did it the movie justice. We need uh the maybe it's just a teaser, maybe we need a full-out trailer. But uh right now, this one did not draw me in in a direction that I would I was hoping it was.

SPEAKER_02

Alright. Alright.

SPEAKER_01

Make sense.

SPEAKER_02

I suppose.

SPEAKER_01

Did I make it make sense for you, sir?

SPEAKER_02

I just don't think you're a hater. It's fine, dude. It's fine. It's okay.

SPEAKER_01

I'm just saying when I'm right and it fails to meet the bar of 2010's Evil Dead. You're gonna say you were right, and I'm gonna say I was. Yes.

SPEAKER_02

I'm looking, I'm gonna look at you like you're a hater. I'm just kidding.

SPEAKER_01

But with that being said, let us know what you guys think. Am I being a hater? Is the movie worth a watch? Uh like I said, is it's just a teaser, so let us know what you guys think off the teaser. We will probably get a full trailer and react to that as well. Um, but for now, this is what we got. Let us know what you guys think.
