SPEAKER_03

What up, everybody? I'm your host, JP, and this is my co-host Josh. Hey everybody, and welcome back to another episode of the Film Bros Podcast. Alright, Josh. So today we got some great things to talk about. All right. Um, as always, Marvel is gonna have probably the most things to talk about, or Marvel Disney, and all that good stuff. And then we, you know, we got a few things to discuss when it comes down to the Paramount merger, and then we have some DC things to discuss, but you know, there's levels to the excitement here, and we just gotta be honest, that one's just not on that level. It's unfortunate. But hey, we'll get around to all those great conversations. Josh, did you see though that D23 was active uh over this weekend? Uh started on Friday, uh, went on through Saturday. I believe it should be over by today by the time of recording, but I'm I don't know if there's still gonna be like a couple things to trickle out, but for the most part, I think we are done with D23. Uh, did you know that D23 was happening? You should have because we talked about it last week. And uh, I mean, uh, when did you see a couple of things? Were you able to tune in, uh, see a couple things that you were excited about, or what what what were we doing during D23?

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, but you know, the usual. I just be on Twitter, I see some stuff, and I'm just like, oh hey, that's pretty cool that this is happening. We got a lot of interesting things from all sides of Disney, and I think that's why they don't they rarely show up for Comic Con. But I guess they had a little bit of things to show at Marvel, I mean at the Comic Con, and then they had a lot to show over here, which is great. Can we met them?

SPEAKER_03

Hype level, of course. Uh, I think that's something that needs to be said, right? Where I feel Disney was on the roll for like a good like a good good while, right? Like they didn't really have to hype up their movies, you know. The momentum of the last movie basically hyped up their next movie, in my opinion. And since, you know, they've been in a you know, in the possibly the meanest draw we've seen in in Marvel history so far, uh, you know, they gotta kind of build up that hype. I think that's why they did kind of say, all right, Comic-Con's a go. And then D23, they even revealed even more uh for the Marvel side, but also for the Disney side too, for those that are interested for like the cartoons, you know, Percy Jackson. I know that for the kiddos, they're making a Bluey movie, so that's gonna be amazing too. So we'll get we'll break down these uh little announcements that basically happened over this weekend and you know, talk about a couple of trailers and whatnot that we are going to see. It's gonna be great. First things first, they unveiled Incredibles 3, and I can tell you right now, I am super excited. I don't have to wait until I'm 50 for the third part, okay? For when I was a child, the first one came out, okay. I was an adult when the second one came out. I'm probably gonna be in my midlife crisis like Bob Parr is by the time the third one comes out, unfortunately. But this film is supposed to take place right after the events of Incredibles 2. Uh, and it says here that the kids are basically gonna be stepping up in this one. They want to prove that they are ready to be real supers, and their parents aren't quite so convinced. They are that so they've been sneaking out at night to protect the silly city, and it doesn't go over well at home. To make matters worse, they are struggling to contain Jack Jack. A new threat is taking a toll on Bob, who's grappling with his own relevance in a world of supers that may have outgrown him because even though supers are legal again, that doesn't mean all supers are good. Um, we have the original cast coming back, uh, the ones that uh came back for the second part as well, the ones that played Dash and Um Violet for the second sequels. And yeah, I'm pretty sure we're getting Samuel L. Jackson as Frozone back and all that great stuff. Josh, what do we think of this Incredibles 3 reveal?

SPEAKER_07

I think it's I think it's great. I I can't I can't wait to watch it, pro. I think this sounds amazing. Especially, I mean a couple couple years away, but pretty good.

SPEAKER_03

I believe there was um a picture of the villain as well that they put up. I was hoping that they were gonna show it here. Let me see if I can find that.

SPEAKER_07

I thought so too. You know, like with his white eyes or whatever, he kind of looked like a ghost or something. Like a phantom.

unknown

Like a phantom.

SPEAKER_07

But yeah, no. I I think it sounds pretty great. I think this is great.

SPEAKER_03

You'd be down for the Incredibles 3.

SPEAKER_07

Absolutely. 110%. No doubt, no doubt, no doubt.

SPEAKER_03

No doubt. Okay, let's see. Can we get a picture here of what we're gonna be seeing as a villain? No, but we do see that Bob Par is kind of withered in this one, right? He has the matches in his back, he's hurt. Um, seems like that's kind of like the route they're gonna be going down, which I kind of felt like that's what we're kind of seeing with the first Incredibles. Oh, yeah, right here. Here's the villain. This is what the villain is supposed to look like. I don't know if we're gonna get a retread of uh of uh what we got with the first movie, with like it's uh not actually a super, but it's um you know a person with a suit and you know he's trying to be super and all that, or is this actually gonna be an evil super villain? Because I don't think we got that in either Incredibles one or two, right?

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, no. Is he gonna be an actual like superpowered guy? Who knows?

SPEAKER_03

Right, right. Uh, but that's gonna be exciting, so can't wait to see more of that, especially like a trailer. Um the the animation is gonna have to be way better than what we saw in Incredibles 2. And I know a lot of people had things to say about that one. Let's just be honest, if you ain't got nice things to say, don't say nothing around me when it comes to Incredibles 2, okay, because it was amazing. Uh, let us know what you guys think. Kingdom Hearts, the series, was announced as well. A Disney Plus green lit Kingdom Hearts series based on the game created by Tesuya Numura. The series reimagines the iconic adventures with a brand new story that will expand on the Kingdom Hearts universe while celebrating the characters that have entertained millions of fans around the world. I I'm not a big Kingdom Hearts fan. I ain't gonna be, I'm I'm not gonna hold you. I'm but I was never a big Kingdom Hearts fan. I played it when I was in middle school, and it was I it was alright. You know, the homie had it, I played it. You know, he was infatuated with it. He loved that shit. He played it all the time. I was not a big Kingdom Hearts fan, so I'm not really too excited about this one, but I know a lot of people that might be, so I don't know. Joshua, are you excited for a Kingdom Hearts series?

SPEAKER_07

I mean, yeah, I I could get down with a series. I'm not sure about the games. I know I know that sounds so bad, you know. Those there's people out there that are like stone me if they heard that, but like I'm down for this. This is this is pretty cool. At least it's like an entryway because I've played like the first one. Like that's it.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, everybody should at least touch Kingdom Hearts at least once, you know what I'm saying? But I guess it's just not for everybody, it was just never for me. I never really understood it, the whole key and Mickey characters and everything like that. It's it's it's a fun concept. It's a fun concept, but it just never really appealed to me. So if you're excited for a Kingdom Hearts series, let us know. You know, for us, you know, if the animation's good and it could draw us in, I think, you know, there's a chance, right?

SPEAKER_07

100%.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, you're an arcane fan, so I mean I'm pretty sure there is a chance, a little bit of a chance. Uh, but let us know what you guys think. Moving on, though, Josh, we have a new animated film from Pixar. It's called Ghost Market. Uh, this one I couldn't really find anything. Um, I did find a cam rip of the D23 trailer that they did post. I don't think you're interested in a cam rip. So we'll wait until an actual trailer drops. But it seems like it it's about a boy who basically finds a noodle shop and or at least not a noodle shop, but a whole market. And the basically what the cam rip shows is that the noodles get up on its own and chase him down the street. And he has like a little vlog going on as well as like the noodles are chasing them. So I mean, we'll like I said, we'll probably get a trailer when it comes to that. But I don't know if you've seen it floating around, no pun intended, but I don't know if you've seen like Ghost Market at all.

SPEAKER_07

No, I don't think this is the first time I'm hearing about it. It sounds like a ripoff of uh another animated uh anime movie, but yeah, okay. I guess I guess Disney can have it.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, all right, yeah. And it looks like they're doing kind of like that um turning red animation as well. So just to give you a heads up on what the animation might look like as well. Um, we also got a Coco 2 preview, and I am upset with the internet for being upset with Miguel's new haircut. Apparently, they're not happy with the fade that he is getting his his uh his Mexican hairdo. That's what that's the biggest gripe I've been hearing online, which is kind of insane, but kind of hilarious at the same time. So, what do we think about his haircut, and what do we think about a Coco 2 happening?

SPEAKER_07

I mean, if the story's cool and they can pull it off, that's fine. I have no problem with that. I really kind of I enjoyed the first one, I ain't gonna lie. So let's hope they they got it right for a sequel.

SPEAKER_03

You drive me on Poco Loco?

SPEAKER_07

Right.

SPEAKER_03

Right, right. Um, they got the dog back and everything, so it's nice. Uh, but you didn't mention anything about his haircut. That's like I said, that's a big point of contention on the internet. His haircut, they said, hey, why'd you give this guy this kind of haircut? This kid this haircut. I say this is the most Mexican haircut I've seen in my life. I don't know what to tell you. Right. They could have gave him an Edgar Bowl cut if they wanted to, and that probably would have done a little bit more justice, to be honest. But this looks great, I think.

unknown

I don't know.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, no, this isn't too bad. So I don't know what people are talking about. They must not see a lot of Mexicans.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, this is this is kind of like the typical haircut, this is kind of like what they look like sometimes. Um you know, I know because I am, but let us know what you guys think. There is, you know, for Coco, you do see him with his abolita. We see I'm assuming this little corner one, I'll I'll enlarge it for you just in case um you didn't get to see it. But I'm assuming this is a picture from or at least a concept art from the first movie, unless that they're using this as like a flashback to kind of propel the second film. I'm not sure. But you know, I kind of reused concept bar at a D23. I'm not sure.

SPEAKER_07

Maybe. Unless Dela Cruz really is the bad guy again, in which case wholly recyclable, but you know, you know, I just gotta wait to see. I'm just gonna have to wait.

SPEAKER_03

He couldn't get the kill off, so he's like, I I'm gonna get the kill off. He's gonna I'm gonna do it, don't worry. Uh, let us know what you think about a Coco 2. Josh, we did get a Bluey movie teaser, but I'm pretty sure you're not interested in that. But you know, for those that are, you know, there is a Bluey movie coming out pretty soon. My kids are super excited about it. So if you haven't seen the trailer, check out the trailer on YouTube right now. Um, but like I said, I don't think there's a lot of people interested in Bluey around here. Moving on, Josh, we also got a first look at a live action tangled. This one is more of a cam rip, but this is on deadline, so I guess we'll we'll check this one out. But it wasn't too big of a deal. I think more of the art that happened inside of the stadium was more cool to look at off the off the cam rips. Um, everything else was mostly like, hey, you know, we're we're doing our thing here on the tangled set. And I do gotta say, Disney kind of, you know, they pivoted since the whole Snow White fiasco. But let me check let me show you this little clip here. And that's all that was basically it. Like I said, they hit her, and uh the person that's playing Flynn Rider was on the screen and they basically promoted their film, but they said that they're in Spain, so they couldn't be there. But for the most part, you know, uh you we're getting real hair and not CGI hair, so isn't that nice?

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, I guess they're taking a a new look at things and just recreating them. That's cool.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, we gotta think about this one for a second, okay? We saw what happened in the new Moana movie, right? That new Moana movie was a flop, okay. Snow White was also a flop. I'm trying to think of what was oh, the little mermaid flopped. I mean, uh maybe they're starting to learn from their live action stuff, and they're saying, hey, you know what, we can't change a lot of these things and we gotta keep a lot of these things the same. I we didn't get much from this whole tangled little camera thing. I'm hoping they're taking the right uh what is it called, the right lessons out of what happened these past couple years when it came down to their live action movies and we're getting something good now and not something Snow White or Moana or The Little Mermaid. I like I said, I wasn't even that mad at the Little Mermaid, but don't cast Aquafina and shit, man. What the fuck? What are we doing here, dude?

SPEAKER_07

What are just start it just we're talking about Tangles, you just started beefing with the live action little mermaid.

SPEAKER_01

Scuttlebutt, dude. What the fuck you want me to do about that?

SPEAKER_07

Oh man, I mean Yeah. I I don't I guess I just don't care about their live action stuff anymore, so if they want to do shit like this, that's fine.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, so you you're just you're you're tapped out. Yeah, I have not I haven't cared since I don't even think the people saw that new Lion King movie either.

SPEAKER_07

No, which is crazy because I heard that the music in that one was pretty good.

SPEAKER_03

But you know, they kind of squandered their first chance with the first live action one. And though it wasn't a terrible adaptation, it just wasn't uh great either.

SPEAKER_07

So exactly.

SPEAKER_03

It is what it is, but there is a Tagled coming out pretty soon. We are hoping to get a trailer uh sometime this year. I'm pretty sure by the end of the year we'll probably get something. Uh but it will be coming out March 31st, 2028. So we still got like a good year. We still got a good year. So we'll probably get like a teaser or something by the end of this year, maybe a teaser by the beginning of next year. So we'll have to wait and see. Moving on though, Josh, they also gave us a look at Percy Jackson and the Olympians season three. Um we got a trailer and everything. I can't cap though. I haven't been I haven't been keeping up with this show. I gotta be honest with you. Like this is something that I wanted to see the trailer for. But if we're getting all the way to a season three, I wonder if it's good enough to check into at this point. Like, I wonder if season one was that tough stretch where you had to kind of like go through it. Season two got a lot better, and I wonder if season three is just gonna roll around and just wreck shit. I don't know. Have you been keeping up with the Percy Jackson seasons?

SPEAKER_07

I only got through season one, and I mean after that I was kind of like, okay, you know, I guess this is cool. I mean, I don't see it going too far, and then fast forward and we're fucking already at season three, so yeah, maybe season two was good, and I gotta check it out.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, maybe we gotta go back and watch that. So maybe we save this trailer for when we watched the first two seasons, and then maybe we come back around to something like this. Cause yeah, I don't want no spoilers if you know if this is something that I am actually interested in checking out now that I am seeing that it is going somewhere. So, you know, I know what y'all are thinking. Don't don't come at my you know, my greatest if you don't love me and my lowest. Listen, the first season was not the best, okay? I like I could watch the movie way more better than I could watch that first season, okay? But if the second season's better, you know, you got me hooked. You got me hooked. So I might I might be there. I might be there. We'll have to wait and see. When does the season three come out, anyways? We got time to watch it both seasons before the third season. That probably tells me that.

SPEAKER_07

Look at the post on tw on Twitter, man. Hold on. Oh no?

SPEAKER_03

No. Season is the darkest win yet. So it'll be it's getting, you know, we're going the Harry Potter route, it sounds like. Also, they're still filming season three, so they probably were able to put out get enough for a trailer, but they're still in the middle of filming it. So the no release date just yet. So let us know what you guys think. Do you guys watch Percy Jackson and the Olympians? Um, which I think that kind of sucks that we don't get a different title change like the books do. You know, Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Are you guys watching those seasons or are you guys kind of leaving it alone? Or is Disney just kind of you know, money laundering this show? Like just keeping it alive, just keep money coming through. I don't know. Let us know what you guys think. Moving on, Josh, we're getting an animated Oswald show from John Favreau. Um Oswald is kind of like an old like Mickey cartoon kind of thing. I never really seen Oswald. I think the closest thing that I've seen were those like WB. It was like those rat twins and everything. But like I said, there's so many mouse characters and everything. But we are getting an Oswald TV show, a three-part miniseries, apparently, from John Favreau. So I mean it might be fun. If you never really heard of this character or seen this character, it looks like it's gonna be more of a live or animated into a live-action world kind of thing like Chippendale's. Um, so I mean, you know, it might be it might be cool, right?

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, I mean that sounds pretty cool, especially from John Favreau. I'll I'll watch anything John Favor puts out. So that is true.

SPEAKER_03

And you never really heard about Oswald either, right?

SPEAKER_07

Just no, I mean I didn't know like of him, but I mean, if you actually have seen his stuff, no. I'm he might I was under the impression he's an older cartoon, and uh I also thought he hit public domain a little bit ago.

SPEAKER_03

So Oswald He's a rabbit. The lucky rabbit is what he's called. He's a rabbit, he's not a mouse. That's good to know. There's a difference. Um could have fooled me. It looks the same as Mickey Mouse, I'm just saying that right now. Uh but let us know if you're an Oswald fan and if you're excited for a three-part miniseries. Unfortunately, this is one of these ones that we have not touched. But if this is kind of like a way to propel this into the future and make people love it, hopefully it does good because the same thing like Chippendale, they did their best to do that, and it didn't seem like it, you know, it was funny for the moment, but they never really capitalized on what I thought the buzz was gonna be, you know what I mean? Especially with that whole like sonic thing and everything that was in that movie. I was like, oh, this is actually gonna be talked about a lot, and it was for like a good week and then it disappeared. Unfortunate. Uh so what'd you guys think though? Moving on, Josh, Rami and Michelle 2. Lisa Coudro and Mira Sorvino will reprise a role. I don't know who these people are, or I know who they are. She's from Friends. She's probably in Rami and Mitchell and never got anything else done, but that's okay.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, I never I've never heard of this movie or whatever that they're talking about.

SPEAKER_03

Rami and Mitchell, too. Yeah, no, I never heard of this. So if you guys heard of this, you let us know, but they look very excited. This gotta be like the lowest point. Like this gotta be squeezed in the panel, and people were just like, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, we totally want that. We're totally with Avengers coming up. Let us know what you guys think though. Ice Age boiling point, this one I was excited about. Now this one. I've been waiting. Now, ever since Blue Sky, you know, got curb stomped into the you know, into the pavement by Disney. Uh, they basically, you know, they basically disbanded, I believe, in 2022. Um, they basically put out this whole like scrappy goodbye miniseries and all that stuff. It was a very, it was very sad. It was very sad. Because if you know Blue Sky, I mean they like I said, they've been in charge of Ice Age, they made robots back in the day. Uh, they've been a very prominent part in everybody's life. If you seen um the the little squirrel chasing that little acorn at one point on the little ice age floor, sky sky uh blue sky has been in your life at one point in you know in your lifetime, whatever. Uh so it was kind of sad to hear that it went away. I was like, man, that means no more Ice Age, we're probably not gonna get a robot sequel, you know. Like, I thought this was gonna be the time to kind of capitalize that on that with Blue Sky, but it seems like Disney picked out what they thought was successful and what can continue to go on from Blue Sky and then completely gutted the rest of it. So Ice Age Boiling Point was one of those things that was saved. We get a new Ice Age film, Queen Latifah's coming back, Ray Romano. Um we are getting a good chunk of the cast back. Like I said, even um John Lu Lucasamo's gonna be coming back, so we're we're getting a good chunk of the boiling point. Why Ray Romano was not there? You know, you gotta get you gotta give me did you guys not pay him enough? What's up with that? Did we not get did we not pay him enough? Why Ray Romano was not there? Is weird, right? Have the dude who voices Diego there, right? Maybe have a John Lugazamo, he's coming off of the Odyssey, have him there as well, but like where's Ray Romano? Like he's the guy.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah. Maybe he just didn't want to make a public appearance because he's been out of it for so long. I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, he doesn't do like crowds, he just does like the movies and maybe like the interviews or something, but he won't do a full-on crowd.

SPEAKER_07

Maybe. Maybe that's the problem. I don't know. This is pretty cool. Another Ice Age movie. I I kind of like this franchise too, so this is cool. This is great. I like I don't mind it.

SPEAKER_03

I gotta ask you, what was the last Ice Age movie you watched?

SPEAKER_07

Last one I watched, um it was the the one where like um Continental Drift. That's the one that I know there's another one after this was in there. Yeah, the one with Drake. Um Yeah. There were and then I know there's like one more with like the alien ship or something like that. I just didn't get around to seeing that one.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, the collision one.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, yeah, that one. I didn't see it.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, yeah, I because I seen them all. Obviously, I have kids, I'm gonna watch them. I was just curious when was the last one. I was thinking you probably stopped that the dawn of the dinosaurs or something like that, you know.

SPEAKER_07

No, no, no. I I'm just one short.

SPEAKER_03

Alright, alright. But yeah, I'm excited for a bowling point. I'm I've been excited for an Ice Age movie in general. It's gonna be fun to actually, you know. I was taken to the movie theater as a kid to an Ice Age movie, so I'm like, I can't wait to actually take one of my kids to an Ice Age movie. So I'm happy that this franchise has actually able to not only like evolve with the time, stay alive, but also like the animation has just been getting better with this as well. I wonder if Josh Peck is coming back.

SPEAKER_09

No.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

unknown

Damn.

SPEAKER_03

Did you find those annoying? I know a lot of people were like, this is probably the most annoying part of the ice age. I don't I don't know. I thought they were a little funny in the first.

SPEAKER_07

I thought they were funny. I don't know what people are talking about.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Well, at least we're on the same page. And people were really upset about it. But let us know what you guys think. Moving on, Josh. Uh, we did get a Lilo and Stitch 2 announcement. And as you see here, like I said, there was a little camera thing. Uh Stitch basically is fighting with this little uh pink version of him, which everybody knows her as Angel from the the show, I believe that it was the the show that basically came out. There was also like the movies where she also showed up a little bit as well. So it's kind of interesting that we're gonna go this route, which gotta also remember Chris Sanders, the creator of the original Lilo and Stitch, the one that made the animated one, was not a part of the first movie, the first live action one. He's coming back to direct this one, and he chooses to have Angel in this one. So I mean, are we kind of excited about are we kind of excited about a Lilo and Stitch sequel, especially how the first one kind of ended? And I mean, I guess a new a new creature coming in as well.

SPEAKER_07

Right. I mean, I'm still I'm still on that ground of like maybe the Disney's live action stuff could suck, but I mean it's Lilo and Stitch, so how how much more innovative can you be? I don't know. I I'm still very skeptical.

SPEAKER_03

Were you not a fan of like Leroy and Stitch? Were you not afraid of Lilo and Stitch 2, the animated one? Were you not a fan of the Lilo and Stitch show?

SPEAKER_07

I like the show. Um okay, we're talking about the cartoons though. I thought we were talking about the live action stuff. Well, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I know you're saying, like, we what you're saying go because we only had one live action, right? It's not like we've had multiple live actions. So, like to me, what you're saying is that there's not a lot of like avenues to go in live action. But I mean, if we were had a lot of avenues in animation, I don't see why not in live action. Obviously, some of them are closed because animation could only do certain things, and live action can only do certain things, but for the most part, we could go down a pretty pretty good road. And like I said, if Chris Sanders is back, I have a little bit more faith in this one than the first one. I'm hoping that you know this one kind of does the heartfelt thing a little bit better than the first one did because the first one kind of disappointed a lot of people. A lot of people.

SPEAKER_07

Me included. But anyway.

SPEAKER_03

I'm down for something like this though. I mean Angel.

SPEAKER_07

I guess, man. Are you not a fan?

SPEAKER_03

Are you not a fan of Lilo and Stitch? Is this something that you just never you were just like, oh I'm not a fan of the live action versions.

SPEAKER_07

There was only one. A version. Yeah, exactly. There's only one. And that's about it. I have not I I get I have like nothing else on this because I just don't like the first movie. If the second was better with a trailer or something, maybe they could convince me, but just off the name and just adding another pink stitch is not convincing for you. No.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. I understand. I understand. Kind of convinces me. I like I said, I think one thing that does convince me is Chris Sanders is coming back to direct this one, and he's also writing this this film as well. So this is I think this is kind of like a positive thing, in my opinion. We're actually getting the creator back, and like we're expanding it to two where you know we don't have to really focus on that Ohana stuff anymore. We can actually branch off to like different adventures with Lilo, Stitch, and this other monster. I don't know. We might be able to get something better in live action with this if it actually pans out great. Like I said, it has a lot of things going for it. So if they shit the bed, they really have to trip themselves up. You know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_07

Right, right, right. It's clearly gonna be a problem.

SPEAKER_03

So, I mean, if there's something if Lilo on Stitch 1 brought me down a little bit, all this other news kind of picked me up. I'm hoping for the good stuff. Let us know what you guys think, though. Uh, moving on, Josh, a new look at Gato as well. We've been kind of talking about this one. We've been kind of talking about this one for a little bit. This one has been kind of like on the radar for us. I've been assuming Gato's been supposed to have been coming out a long time ago. Um, until we get a trailer, I'm kind of done talking about this one. Uh, this whole new look thing. I feel like we've been getting a new look for like the past two years. Like, I'm give me a trailer or get the fuck out, Gato. Like, at this point, give me a trailer, bro. Like, I uh what is Pixar doing with that part? Uh let us know what you guys think. But moving on, oh wait, Josh, uh, I can't just disrespect you. Do you have something to say about Gato?

SPEAKER_07

I mean, no, not until we get a trailer. You're right. I mean, we're getting our first, we're getting it in March 2027. So I guess I guess that's not too far out, but yeah, I thought we'd have something already. I don't know what's taking so long.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know either. Maybe Mark Ruffalo, because he is a part of this movie. So I don't know. Oh I don't like to just blame Mark Ruffalo like you, but something's up with this movie.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, that could be the problem.

SPEAKER_03

Let us know what you guys think. But now, Josh, for the meat and potatoes thing that you've been wanting to talk about, I'm pretty sure. Alright, we got the doomsday trailer, which we're gonna talk about, we're gonna react to and all that stuff. But we finally got our confirmed castings for our, I guess, our first set of X-Men, our first wave, uh, where there was rumors that there was supposed to be a bigger splash and more um actors confirmed. It sounds like there's, you know, it sounds like Marvel's kind of getting to a point again, and a lot of these actors are, you know, even though they're young, they're trying to get, in my opinion, a lot of notable actors. So they're kind of asking for a little bit more uh cheddar on, you know, a little bit more cheddar on top of what they're getting. So it seems like Disney's gonna have to do a little bit of negotiating, probably get a few known actors or at least popular actors that are hot right now, and then probably get a few uh not so hot actors. So we're gonna have to talk about this castings and really dig deeper into what I'm saying here today, Josh. So, as we know, Sadie Sink. If you guys haven't seen Brand New Day, Sadie Sink will be playing Gene Gray bars. Uh, she will be playing Gene Gray for our new rebooted X-Men cast. And so, as we talked about before, Josh, we knew that this whole new X-Men reboot was gonna be centered around Sadie Sync. Everybody that they basically casted need to bounce off Sadie Sync for she is good, she was basically the first X-Men cast technically within the MCU. Am I right? Um so Sadie Sink as Gene Gray, we we didn't have any issues with that, I don't think, besides maybe our gripes of what happened in the movie, which if you guys want to hear about that, go listen to our review. It's out right now. We will not discuss that here because then I will be sitting here for three hours fighting Josh on how this how this came to be. Um, anyways, uh we did also get a big reveal, right? And this is something that we talked about as well. Adam Driver finally decided on a role where we, you know, basically we're up in the air. There was a chance he was Magneto. Some people were saying that he could have been playing another X-Men at one point. Now it's kind of confirmed that he's playing the role of Nathaniel Milberry, whose alias is Mr. Sinister. So we are gonna be getting a Mr. Sinister in our X-Men reboot played by Adam Driver. Josh, what do we think about that? That one sounds interesting, am I right?

SPEAKER_07

I think it's I think it's gonna be great. I love Adam Driver. So this is gonna be that's gonna be good. That's a good choice.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know much about Mr. Sinister, though. I mean, I've seen a few things from the animated shows and all that stuff, but he's not been a prominent uh part of like, you know, movie theaters or the you know, the general audience headspace at all. And I mean uh if you unless you did a little bit of comic reading, which I mean I kind of looked into him before, yeah, he's not really known too much. Am I right?

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, no. I mean, I guess if you just I guess he was in like the first season of X-Men 97, and like that's probably the most mainstream thing he's ever been a part of, so shit's rough out here.

SPEAKER_03

Um, but yeah, I I do think if anybody can do it justice and really bring people to put butts in seats, it has to be Adam Driver. Like you could put him in anything, he he's the guy who's gonna do it. Do you feel like you're a little robbed here because he what he's not playing that magn magneto role? Like at one point he was it sounded like he was going for that role a little bit more, and it just seems like you know, more of a villain type.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, but I mean if if they made it work, they made it work, and like can't be too mad at that, you know.

SPEAKER_03

At least we're getting Adam Driver in our X-Men movie.

SPEAKER_07

Right, right. See, you get it. You understand?

SPEAKER_03

Okay, all right, I understand. I do kind of feel robbed. I do think that you know that rumor was amazing. I thought that that would have been like a great way to kind of give us a new uh magneto uh after Michael Fastbender. So it's gonna be interesting to see who they're basically gonna get, especially like I said, a lot of their firepower seems to be what we see here so far. Um, but we'll we'll discuss as soon as we get through everybody. Chris Abbott has been tapped to play Charles Xavier, Professor X. This was another one that's kind of like a curved ball. Um, I believe Abbott should be this one right here, right? This is him. This is Jake Sheer who's gonna be directing it. He directed uh Thunderbolts. What do we think about our new Professor X?

SPEAKER_07

I think it's gonna be cool. I I think I think everybody is gonna I'm gonna have to see everybody in their like costumes and stuff for me to get the right envision. But other than that, I don't think I have a problem with anybody.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, I can see Sadie Sink. Like I can see a few of the I but I gotta say, and this is probably gonna be the biggest one where I raise awareness. Chris Abbott right here does not look like a Professor X to me. What are we doing here? This does not look like a Professor X to me. You can't He looks like Professor X is gonna read somebody's mind and be like, oh yeah, Chico. Like they they there's something going on in the mind right now. Like I don't know, like who I don't think he's I'm not trying to say he just looks Cuban. I don't know if he is Cuban, but you know, right.

SPEAKER_07

I mean, I guess you have a point, but like I I think once we see it, we're gonna be like, all right, this makes sense, you know?

SPEAKER_03

Like this You can't use your imagination.

SPEAKER_07

Just imagine that man bald with no mustache, bald, no mustache, and in a wheelchair. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm, nah. I have to wait.

SPEAKER_03

A Cuban bald man in the wheelchair, a bald Cuban man in a wheelchair. I don't know. Uh, we'll have to wait and see what that one. That's the one where I was like, a little point of contention here. I was like, hey man. Um, and I was trying to figure out where he's from, too. Where is he from? Have we seen him before?

SPEAKER_07

Uh no. I can't tell you.

SPEAKER_04

Let me see.

SPEAKER_03

Possessor. Oh, he was in poor things. No wonder. Have you seen poor things? He was in Wolfman.

SPEAKER_07

No. No, no, no. I haven't seen either of those.

SPEAKER_03

Craven the Hunter.

SPEAKER_04

He played the Foreigner.

SPEAKER_07

I saw Craven the Hunter.

SPEAKER_04

You probably don't remember him in that one then.

SPEAKER_03

Um I don't remember him in that one either.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, no.

SPEAKER_03

I think the only way I can kind of remember him is in Poor Things. If I remember the role correctly. But other than that, I mean, even in Wolfman, I'm assuming in Wolfman he was the husband. He was a husband in Wolfman.

SPEAKER_07

Right. Alright. Well, I mean, that's cool, but I I I just haven't seen it. I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

Professor X looking? More close-up look right here.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah. I like he looked okay. That picture does him justice. The other one didn't really do it, didn't really do it.

SPEAKER_03

It was a husband in Wolfman. I mean, he he has good acting chops. I like them in Wolfman. I can't cap. But does he look like a Professor X to me? I guess same thing. I gotta see him in costume. Put him in a wheelchair. He should have been sitting in a wheelchair right there. We probably would have had a better look at what we, you know, basically what we're gonna get. Um then we also got the big news, okay? And this is one that, you know, we haven't or we've been discussing, and this is one that's been kind of been tossed around. And this was a surprise for a lot of people because in what's her name? Indy Indy never never ready. Indy never ready. She basically made a surprise appearance at D23. Um, that caused a lot of speculation. It caused me speculating for sure. I was like, damn, who the fuck is she gonna play? Um, there was a lot of people that was up in the air. We kind of talked about this as well. Uh at one point, scoopers were saying that they were she was supposed to play Mystique. Um, she was in the role for uh in the running for rogue. Um and I believe there was one more, but I think Mystique and Rogue were the f the two. We also know that Kaylee Spaney was also in the role in the running for rogue as well. So we were kind of like up in the air on who what's her name? Indy was basically playing, and it turns out that she's playing Rogue. Um, I don't know what how we feel about that. I mean, was this a rob from Kaylee Spainey? Do we think that she should have got this one? Um, I know some people were kind of like, oh, Kaylee Spaney should have got it, but you know, again, when we talk about this stuff, all this is with a grain of salt, nobody's actually cast it until it's announced, right? And even though we probably got our heart set on Kayleigh Spainey or whoever, that was never guaranteed until you know the tabloids or you know, Disney themselves kind of put out that that memo. But Josh, what did we think about her taking the role for Rogue? And you know, basically, if the rumors are true, losing out on Kaylee Spainey's rogue.

SPEAKER_07

I mean, it could be a good a good pick, you know what I mean? I don't have a problem with her. I think she was cool in the in obsession, but I mean, we're just gonna have to wait and see what she brings to the table as rogue. Because I don't I'm not doubting her chops. I'm just like, you know, she has that she has to speak with a southern accent and all that stuff, so we're just gonna have to wait and see what that's like.

SPEAKER_03

Mm-hmm. Even if we get like a I know some people were kind of talking about it as like we get like that newer version of Rogue, not the you know, that southern type of the more, I guess, teenage uh inner city girl rogue.

SPEAKER_07

That'd be kind of weird. Because we all kind of know her as the southern bell, so like that's that'd be a little weird.

SPEAKER_04

Like the newer one, right?

SPEAKER_07

Um you're talking about from the old X-Men cartoon. Uh I say old, but I mean it came out like 2005, I think.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it was like from the 2000s. It's a uh it was growing up. It was this one right here.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, that one.

SPEAKER_03

Some people are speculating that this might be the rogue that we see and not this rogue.

SPEAKER_07

I don't know. I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

We would it would be like a new evolution rogue.

SPEAKER_07

I mean, I would. I'd be down for it, but I'm just I'm not sure because I know they're trying their best to like nail this shit down and get a younger cast and everything, so I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

I wonder if she has another accent. I'm gonna I'm gonna look it up. Let me see. Oh, yeah. So she still has a pretty thick accent, so she's gonna still need to bring that accent on. Okay. Yeah. But I mean, do we see can we see Indy playing that kind of rogue instead of the original?

SPEAKER_07

I can I can probably see a bit of both. I'm I just which route were they go? I don't know. I'm assuming they're gonna be traditional about it.

SPEAKER_03

And I know I see some people as well that were over here talking about she was, you know, she's kind of getting picked up quick for this whole you know superhero life, and you know, she kind of went from obsession and now she's in Marvel and blah blah blah blah. Like, let's be honest though. I think she did amazing in obsession. Now, does she have the chops for an X-Men casting? I mean, if it's anything like Yaya said, and it's just clown work, I mean she probably has it in the bag. I think she probably should probably be able to do it. I know she was also in Superman and Lois.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah. I know you probably seen it, but yeah, she was the I think she was like the love interest to like one of his kids or something like that. So I mean, yeah, no, she has it, she has the shops and stuff. Like I said, and I mean she went up to Homeboy himself and was like, hey, I want to be a part of it. So I mean, did she get picked up or did she really impress them with her strive and vigor and all that stuff? Like, I don't know, maybe.

SPEAKER_03

That's gonna be a that's gonna be a good conversation because in my opinion, I think these people were kind of tactically picked, especially knowing that, you know, if this is true, like I said, Grain of Salt, if she did take it from Kaylee Spainey, it kind of just tells me, you know, where where things are kind of going, right? Because like where Kaylee Spaney was hot once, and I mean she was, you know, in Romulus recently as well. But the one that's hot right now is Indy. And she's you know, she off of obsession, she's all over the place on the internet. I see a lot of people putting her clips up of like from her, I guess her Twitch days and stuff. So I mean that's we'll we'll like I said, we'll discuss everybody's relevancy here at the end because I do think that's kind of playing a part in uh what we're seeing up front, but I do think acting wise, Abbott has it, Andy has the acting Sadie Sink. I'm not too sure because I like I said, I don't I haven't seen her a lot. And if it's true that she only basically played the same person in Stranger Things that she played in Brand New Day, like I said, I'm not sure. I'm just more like, okay, I don't I don't think what we saw was

SPEAKER_07

I've never heard of her, but I mean I'm sure she has the potential to be a good storm.

SPEAKER_03

I haven't heard of her either, so like I said, we gotta look it up. She was on Broadway and she was in a short for called Deadbeat. And that was about it. So she's an upcoming actor. She's new. She's new.

SPEAKER_07

Cool. I mean shit, cool.

SPEAKER_03

So we'll be able to see which and she looks confident. For somebody who like probably has the least amount of projects on this on this roster right here, she looks like the most confident. Like, I'm gonna kill this role. Like, this is gonna be in the bag. Like, this is easy. Like, I I don't know what it is. It's just the demeanor, it's crazy. Um, so I mean just off her look, I'm with her 100%. I'm down. Um, and then Samara Weaving, we already kind of talked about this one. She was confirmed last week, but she making it to the red carpet, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost. What do we what do we mean? Or the blue carpet, D23.

SPEAKER_07

Amazing. Another good choice.

SPEAKER_03

I I'm always down for it. Like I said, we'll talk about the relevancy in a second. Kit Connor as Cyclops, we talked about him as well. He is not very known on our part, but you know, nonetheless, kind of has that that cyclops look, right? Once he starts obviously hitting that gym a lot harder and really gets that that you know that body and shit like that, but he looks like a cyclops in my opinion, right? And after seeing the long walk, I don't know. I don't know. I have to see his acting because uh because I I gotta say the long walk, the dude that he was up against that supposedly did just didn't get the role. I mean he didn't have the look, but I do think the acting chops were there, so I don't know. That's an interesting one. They kind of look similar in a way.

SPEAKER_07

I think I think that's the point. If they're both in the running for something, then it'd have to be somewhat obviously looking similar. Right.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, they look oddly similar. Yeah, he was in Rocky Man and all that stuff, yeah. Exciting stuff! Exciting stuff, and like I said, uh the guy who directed Thunderbolts will be directing this film. It has a release date May 5th, 2028. So we have a good chunk of time before said movie comes out, before this X-Men reboot comes out. Supposed to come out after Secret Wars, after basically after the dust settles. In my opinion, this is supposed to be and what whoever gets casted next and officially make the rest of the X-Men. But they are gonna be Marvel's leading people. They are going to be the people kind of pushing the way forward for the next phase, in my opinion. And so I do think what they really wanted to do, especially with D23, was kind of give a lot of people these notable actors that people have been seeing everywhere, actually give us that star power that's been giving us a little bit more, you know, at least Hollywood, a little bit more buzz as of lately. And then also, you know, in a way, cut corners, but also get great talent by getting a little bit unknown or lesser, or somebody who cannot seem to have a hit movie for whatever reason. And I, you know, I that's I love Samara Weaving. In my opinion, all her movies are hit movies, but like she just cannot seem to get you know a a hit movie, you know, she's she's been around for a while, and the fact that she cannot seem to get a movie or franchise or something behind her that really says her name, and she's always like these smaller roles, and it's just not as great, it just kind of sucks. But like I said, she is great. Uh Indy, she's kind of skyrocketing really quick. It's amazing. Sadie Sink, she's been around for a while. I've been seeing that that Twitter thing where it's like she's smiling at the end of like that whole read read-along that they had the last read-along where everybody's all crying and sad and shit, and she just looks at the camera like I knew where I was going, kind of thing.

SPEAKER_07

Like I got a job.

SPEAKER_03

Like, I got you know, you guys might be unemployed. Go along with uh Elena Holmes 2 or 3, whatever the fuck you're doing now. And you know, she she will move on to better pastors. But all these people got a bright future, especially what Marvel has in store. But what do you think about like this strategy of actors, especially two? That's another thing as well that I gotta kind of bring up to you as well. Is that I I kind of talked about it, like who's the next up? Who who's gonna be like these next actors, not just in Marvel, but in general, like who are the who are these actors that are gonna be defining these next generations? And it seems like Marvel kind of took it upon themselves, in my opinion, to answer that question for us with these with this casting. I don't know, what do you think?

SPEAKER_07

I think it's fucking genius. I think wanting to go the route and do extra uh do the smaller actors is great. I mean, obviously they're gonna have to stick around for what could be another five, six years, and you know keep doing what they have to do, but I think this is good. I think this is a good place for the X-Men to start.

SPEAKER_03

I'm still shaky about Professor X though.

SPEAKER_07

Okay, you fucking you hater. I'm just saying, I haven't even seen him in the costume yet. And I gotta say, you know what?

SPEAKER_03

And I'm you know, just to add it, because you said something, you know, just to add it. The director who did Thunderbolts, yeah, bro, get him out of here too. Oh man That's kind of telling that's like telling me that you getting Andy Musciati for a Batman movie after doing the Flash.

SPEAKER_07

Thunderbolts was not like the Flash. Thunderbolts was not like the Flash.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, Thunderbolts was not like the Flash. Okay. I cannot lie, I cannot deny it. But what I can say is that Thunderbolts is not, I mean, okay, yeah, it kind of it's that stepping stone, right? It did okay, and then Fantastic Four did a little bit better. And hopefully Doom or Brand New Day really knocked it out the park, but still, that's still an argument between like Sony, Marvel, blah blah blah blah blah blah, whatever. Doomsday is what really is gonna, you know, show us does Marvel have that juice? Now that's a big question as well. Does Marvel have that juice to even make these people that the stars? You know, like they they handpick these people to kind of give us that who who the future is gonna be for the next few years or whatever, right? They also try to do that as well in the beginning of phase four with you know Tatiana Bessolani. We haven't seen we haven't seen a She Hulk at all. Um you know, we've seen we've seen Marvel try to be the pioneers that they were a few years back before endgame and all that stuff. Are we are are we back? Like I said during our Spider-Man review, I'm not a hundred percent sure because Spider-Man is Spider-Man, right? I I feel like that's a a league in its own, right? And Avengers in is in its league of its own as well. But uh as another thing too, I know a lot of people are like, oh, there was no build-up, there's no build-up to Doom or whatever, and blah blah blah. And then other people are like, oh, well, the build-up to Doom or whatever, there was no build up to Dannos, blah blah blah. Okay, well, push that to the side. I feel like a people a lot of people are missing out the main ingredients and the main sauce that really made these movies magic, and that we were following these characters, these actors through different movies. All right. What doomsday is basically doing is trying to pick up where we left off with Endgame and try to ignore andor just pick up some of these people that we know did not have great movies, did not were not stars in any shape, form, or way, but they were placed in there for Disney, Marvel, whatever, all that stuff. Doomsday has a big hurdle to jump before we even get to this X-Men casting, so they're really trying to make noise, and I'm excited. I'm excited for what I'm seeing on this screen right now. I don't know if Marvel's back though. That's the thing. Like, I we're gonna watch the Doomsday trailer too, and I'm gonna have to I waited to watch this one. We're watching it together. I don't know if you waited, that's fine. Are we back with Marvel? How are we feeling? Obviously, the high of brand new day has kind of vanished a little bit. You've been able to kind of let it subside. Where are we on this Marvel track? Obviously, like I said, the picture looks great, but Doomsday's coming up. They gotta keep that hype from brand new day. Can Marvel make it happen?

SPEAKER_07

I think so. I think to I think Doomsday might be shaky, but I I mean everything they've put out so far has been kind of shaky. I mean, if if you didn't like the hot streak they were on, um, and you find it a little more subjective than usual, then like I guess that's cool. But like I mean, from Thunderbolts, I like Thunderbolts. From to Fantastic Four, I like Fantastic Four. To Spider-Man, which again is its own little thing of its own, to Doomsday, I I would say I'm still down.

SPEAKER_03

So you feel like there's a hype train going on. Oh, yeah. You feel like you've they've been kind of on a roll lately, right? Yes, yes. Where you started in Thunderbolts, I started in Fantastic Four. Right? So I feel like that's where the disconnect. I started a little bit later than you. And then on top of that, I didn't even think Fantastic Four was perfect. If you didn't think Thunderbolts was perfect, and I didn't think Fantastic Four was perfect, like I said, I'm a little bit later to the train, so I need a little bit more convinced I need a little more convincing because.

SPEAKER_07

Oh, let's hope the Doomsday Trailer does that.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, that is true. We do have that in the cut. We do have it in the cut. Um, I think that's something that we're gonna have to take a look at before we move on to Star Wars and all that, because this will be the last piece of uh Doomsday news here. So let's go ahead and pull up the doomsday trailer. I have it. Where is it? I know I had it. It's right here. Um yeah, that's why. Whoopsie. So here we go. We got the doomsday trailer right here. Josh, what are we expecting? Okay, there's there's we've saw some we saw some leaked stuff, okay? We didn't see any of the leaked stuff in the last trailer. Well, not a lot, okay. We saw a little bit, not a lot. Um, we don't know if this is a hundred percent gonna be what we saw from previous times. But what are you exp exactly expecting when you jump into this trailer, especially this being at least the big full-length trailer? I from the first shot alone, we are getting a lot more doom in this one as well. How are you feeling?

SPEAKER_07

I think I I'm feeling pretty good. I'm hoping it kind of draws me in a lot more than what the first one did. If I'm a little suspicious, the first one. This one I'm hoping it concretes it for sure. So that's that's what I can hope for.

SPEAKER_03

I agree. I agree. The first one was shaky. The first one, though it was fun, it looked, it looked like okay, they're they're putting a little bit of effort. It didn't seem like it was a hundred percent what I was looking for. I'm hoping this one wows me. This one really knocks my socks off because geez, we need a win. I need a win for Marvel. Nudge me to the other side. Let's get it, Josh.

SPEAKER_02

Victor was always the smartest guy in every room. He used to be different.

SPEAKER_09

He used to be cutting, they used to be caring.

SPEAKER_02

And then everything.

SPEAKER_03

After watching it a couple days later, I don't know how accurate that that little counter at the end is. Um okay, okay, okay. Thor could just not catch a break, huh? He always just has to talk shit and always just get thrown out. That's just his thing, right? You should have gone for the head. Like sh Thor! Bro. We're how many movies deep, man? Like we just stop talking shit before we actually get the kill. Like, can we just at this point? Am I right?

SPEAKER_07

Right, let's pull it together, bro. Um well, I kinda I am interested.

SPEAKER_03

I gotta I g I want to know where we start with this one.

SPEAKER_07

Um I mean, this whole thing is doom centric, so I think we just start with Doom.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, cool. What do we think?

SPEAKER_07

I think he looks great. I think it looks great, I think he sounds great. I knew people were gonna have were like, oh, RDJ, Romani person, whatever. I'm sorry now. I think Robert Dodger is gonna kill his Doom. Um I think we're getting more into that hinting of like, alright, he's clearly gonna be betrayed, obviously. I'm thinking, how far along will that be? Because if because it looks like this those scenes were together where she's talking to him in like the X-Mansion, and he was staring at that painting or whatever. So maybe he's in the X-Mansion thinking about like what he lost before he's like, Alright, now we could turn it all together. I think the interesting thing is the lines part where he's like he has a living uh different or stolen lives or whatever. Maybe because he also had his life stolen from him, and you know, Steve got his happy ending, and I mean the photosophical kind of got their little happy ending, and then and maybe also maybe he just jealous jealous man.

SPEAKER_03

That's crazy. Maybe I don't know. Um, I I mean that would apply for some of these rosters, but I mean it's not for everybody, and so they're just kind of in it to help, and it's kind of begs the question then why weren't they helping Spider-Man with Holt? That kind of seems like I need a little bit of help. That's okay. This shot goes hard.

SPEAKER_07

He looks so good. I and like oh man, the Russo brothers just know what how to do Marvel stuff. That's it. That's their only that's their only thing.

SPEAKER_03

That's their pot. That's that's where they need to stay in a little bit.

SPEAKER_07

Right. Um It looks good.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, this is more doom centric, and I'm about it. Um Pedro Pascal doing a good acting job, which we don't we hardly ever see. So it's very nice to see. Oh my you you you Hey, hey, hey, you let me say my piece, okay, sir. You do you don't do that to me.

SPEAKER_07

Not without not with not with you to doing drive-by things that don't make sense.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, my bad. Um, I I do think it looks nice, some of it. Um I'm not sure if I like this whole like destroyed background thing. Kind of makes me feel like when I was watching, I was like, man, did they kind of film this on the volume a little bit? Does this not look kind of like volume ish in a way? Image-wise. Everything looks I mean it looks great. I can't help but like I said, I can't help but feel like this is what it is, and this is just a movie thrown together. I think it's I wanna say I I was trying to do a little soul searching about it, right? I wanna say Marvel conditioned us to and this is what you know, this is what they were saying about DC back in the day too, with the DCU as well, is that you know, put out a movie for every single one of these characters, build up this hype and then give us that, you know, that togetherness movie, right? Um, I know they're like, oh, you know, there wasn't no build-up to Thanos. The trailer looks great. I'm excited to see these characters interact and fight together and you know all that stuff. I really don't know what Doom is doing here. I don't know his motivation, we don't know anything about him. Okay. Pedro's acting his ass off, I'm pretty sure, extra in here because he really needs to convey that there is some kind of history here that we do not know about, that we do not know about whatsoever. Okay. I don't know. I I it's Marvel's fault. It's their fault, it's their fault. You're gonna come over here and gaslight us, Fucky, talking about hey, we didn't have a build-up movie for Thanos, bro. We they all these character movies, little character movies, are all built up to the main thing. It's kind of like, you know, hey, we are building up to this kind of thing. There is an underlying threat that we're eventually gonna get to, but they gotta deal with this, this, and this first before we get to that. We're all gonna get to that at one point. We haven't had that, and we don't have that. And for us to feel like we need to be invested for something like this, uh, even brand new day, uh, brand new day would not have done as well without the support of what those old movies have had. I know some people are like, Oh, you don't have to watch the old ones in order to be good with brand new day or whatever, being spider. No, yes, you do, because Civil War, Spider-Man, all those things, like that's all build up to what we got in in Brand New Day. And I know some people are also saying, Oh, we got the a repeat of what of what we that's the whole I saw Matt Walsh's like review for Spider-Man Brand New Day. He was like, Oh, we're redoing the same thing again. They had to, you know, race people's minds so he could redo the same thing again. And I was just like, Alright, bro, you're reaching. That was kind of weird, but yeah, I I do think that there has to be some kind of build-up, and they don't have that. I like seeing toys on the screen and being able to be smashed together and go up against a big bad that you know, which let's be honest, would have been an amazing reveal within the movie itself if it was revealed to be RDJ, but they kind of gave that away because they were desperate, right? So what does this movie really have? What are we what are we waiting for? And then uh on top of that, the leaks, the leaks that are happening, and maybe that's our own fault. Let's just say that's our own fault or whatever, but looks like they're real.

SPEAKER_07

I don't know, man. You're just gonna you're just gonna have to wait to find what Dooms whole thing is, bro. That's it.

SPEAKER_03

That's fine with me. Okay, that is okay with me, but you cannot say that I'm lying or anything like that, and you cannot say that you don't agree with me.

SPEAKER_07

What a that we he needed build-up? We had this conversation already.

SPEAKER_03

No, no, no. Maybe not Doom himself, okay? Let's just be maybe not Doom himself, but the Avengers team did.

SPEAKER_07

I okay. I agree with that.

SPEAKER_03

I think they mishandled Sam and the his Avengers or whatever, and then we get Thunderbolts, not putting Doom in there, or at least uh at least a minimal capacity, you know what I'm saying? Now we know why he wasn't there. Taking his mask off and just looking at the baby, that is the most minimal. we can absolutely get but like minimal capacity like that's crazy that's that's um that's the what do you call it no spider man in this movie possibly no no he's too busy doing other shit the the one that probably has the most heavily invested buildup is not gonna be in this movie is crazy um the the let's just be honest too marvel's money making machine and I mean maybe if they put him in this movie Sony would have to take a piece of the pie but it would be well worth it if this movie could do at least what brand new day is doing you know what I'm saying like it it would be completely worth it if they could do it exactly what brand new day is doing if not better because there's more characters and whatnot but I do think there's no build up here there's nothing here I feel like we're getting a nothing burger just with a lot more characters I'm hoping that that's not the case that we get more Doctor Doom sounds great RGJ sounds great the suit looks great the visual effects are looking decent right now except for you know some scenes of the whole void stuff you know I already we've already talked about the void countless times they've been doing this whole void shit for the past phase and a half it's kind of annoying kind of stupid I don't know why are they saving money on the budget I don't know big dirt pile instead of having to put buildings and shit like that and things being destructed you just break it all down already or you show us a big grand shot of everything broken down and you don't have to worry about you know people getting hurt or shit crashing down. I don't know this is just it feels not as exciting as I would have hoped it to be even though I am kind of a little bit you know excited and eager to want to see what's gonna happen. Right? Like just that that part just to see what's gonna happen.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah I don't feel like I have that investment right hater look at this guy he's a hater he's a fucking hater I feel like I'm making you're only you are only valid in the Avengers stuff.

SPEAKER_03

They mishandled the fuck out of Sam and his Avengers I would argue is a big problem when the name of the movie is titled Avengers well yeah but I mean we know who the team is so I mean we uh know who the team is we don't know who the team is it's clearly gonna be everybody I'm telling you thunderbolts Sam Wilson are getting wiped Thunderbolts Sam Ant-Man Shang Chi and uh Fantastic Four even from the same universe Fantastic four right where you get Thor and you get Kat with his uh hammer yeah they bring back Steve Rogers as well couldn't even hold that as a surprise either right I'm just saying dude I don't know man there's some there's some there's some grade A issues I feel like we we have on this that that we're looking at here and I I could totally understand boom bang pow and you're excited about the toys clashing let's look past that for a second what does this movie actually have for us hopefully it's supposed to be the conclusion to a reboot hopefully to a reboot because this play this this universe has gotten so messy we gotta jump back to a movie that happened what five years ago as if these other movies didn't happen but then you also put in characters within the movie that happened in those last five years interesting interesting isn't that it it's a bold move Conan let's see if it pays off the wait and see man why aren't you why aren't you with me why are you up shits creek without a paddle here why aren't you trying to have a paddle why aren't we why are you saying at least trying to have a consensus of I understand and I agree with the Avengers part I agree with the Avengers part but we already know why all this is happening bro they had to pivot they had a fucking pivot that's that's like the whole point unfortunately so they're working on what they have so I'm not gonna be super fucking critical.

SPEAKER_07

He's not gonna be out here gaslighting me we don't need a build up for Doom I mean when you know how you spent half of the build up on Kang you're not gonna talk about Kang.

SPEAKER_03

What do you think about the the leaks possibly being true before we move on?

SPEAKER_07

I think what I've been telling everybody that's been catching up they've been out since they finished filming. We read them I think everybody just now playing catch up oh did you hear that you're gonna fucking they might kill the Yes I've heard I'm not satisfied with that if it happens I'm gonna I think I'm gonna be staring at the screen like Homelander for a cool minute just processing my hero. That theory of uh possibly two dooms yes I've heard it I'm just saying we've heard it we've read it we've read them we're like take it with a grain of salt I don't know if you can remember yeah but like everyone is just now catching up and it's kind of like annoying because it's like I yeah I f I know this already that's all that's all I hear that's how how I feel yeah well that's basically it um we've talked about it we you know grain of salt we I'm not gonna keep propelling the the thing but you know if there is two dooms there is that uh if you want to check out those theories and spoil it for yourself go ahead but we kind of already did that in episode we're not gonna do that every single episode uh but let us know what you guys think doomsday X-Men um Marvel is on a roll right now hopefully they stay on that roll um like I said there you can kind of say successful Thunderbolts kind of say successful because let's just be honest though the movie was great to Josh the box office did not reflect that for neither films unfortunately Fantastic Four lost to Superman fucking Superman yuck um so it's like still a better movie than Superman both of these movies are better movies than Superman yeah but box office doesn't mean anything okay okay sir sir sir it's the same thing you do with Rotten Tomatoes okay you cannot be like well rotten tomatoes don't mean shit when it's booing my movie but it means something when it's not booing my I don't do that with Rotten Tomatoes I say fuck Rotten Tomatoes all around even when we talk about it in our reviews matter too a movie could be great but if the numbers did not reflect there has to be a reason right and if the reason is not economical something outside it has to be something within the movie.

SPEAKER_03

I blame COVID not to that one let's go back to that one body let's do that one uh but let us know what you guys think Marvel like I said hopefully it's great where is Marvel for you guys are they on a roll when did you guys say that Marvel has come quote unquote back I know we've been having a rocky road with that one uh but you know I think they've been like Josh says I do believe that they have been on a roll lately not knocked out 100% home runs but they have been at least playing the game um and not completely shitting the bed as before. So let us know where you guys think Marvel is at um hype level wise and check out the doomsday trailer and let us know what you guys think about that as well. Moving on Josh Star Wars okay we have also heard from both ends Star Wars and Marvel uh they're gonna be cutting back on a few things right um Star Wars is gonna be cutting back sounds like on theater goal a little bit more because of what happened they're gonna put out a couple movies hopefully they strike gold and they continue to put out movies but it sounds like they're not gonna be putting so much effort over there but more effort into Disney Plus where Marvel's on the different end of the spectrum they're gonna be putting more effort into the movies and less into Disney Plus with the TV shows nowadays with the exception of Daredevil so cool stuff man cut everything else at the legs but except for your cash cow right make that make sense oh well well it makes perfect sense but damn Marvel why don't you try harder instead of just fucking being like never mind we couldn't do it we quit like I don't know that's just me but Josh we do have a Ahsoka season two trailer what did we think about Ahsoka season one I really do have a review but just a quick you know a quick reminder what did we think about the first season I liked it you hated it um I think I think that's about it I think that comes I think that sums it up I mean you liked it I did not really like it right you're right I like how you remember that interesting interesting yeah because I'm gonna watch you fall in love with this trailer that's it that's it I hope so because I really like huh huh huh I like the first trailer of the of Ahsoka too but you know the series didn't follow suit so I'm hoping this trailer is great and then the season's great too you cannot just have a good trailer but not a great season um hopefully we get a little bit more okay we don't lean so much on the Clone Wars stuff and yeah well we'll just have the way shaking your head because I'm gonna be disappointed right now are you shaking your head because I'm gonna be disappointed I'm shaking my head because you're a hater let's go all right I'm going I'm going in tell me Ahsoka I just hear Anakin fucking Skywalker in the first fucking two seconds of this trailer and in Ahsoka wait hold on and in Ahsoka trailer did I just and this is way past this time did I just hear Anakin as the prom narrator of this trailer we're not gonna act like we didn't see at the end of season one that he was there with her all right we're not gonna act like that he's clearly her guide we need a come on come on keep going stop yay and for those that don't know you know she for those that don't know what he means if you're Jedi or not and you're like oh well I thought she was Jedi this whole time no you gotta go watch an episode of the Clone Wars to go you gotta go check out multiple episodes of the Clone Wars to even understand where that comes from. Look man this this show does great in the middle part of this trailer when it's like focused on the newer characters I guess on the rebel characters and everything but then every time we go back to this little clip of and it's cool. I like the Clone Wars stuff it's cool stuff I'm I'm a fan of the Clone Wars but when you when you try to take stuff that's all the way in the future over here and you stuff shit that's all the way back here isn't there not like a whole bunch of time in between that does that time not heal all wounds in Star Wars do we just need to jump back every fucking time to a member berry fucking time bro like this is this is what I fucking mean man that's weird like it's like that fucking meme where they they the farmer goes back out to the cow and it's all sucked up dry and shit I'm well we're here for more Star Wars content. Like Jesus is the Clone Wars has been done either give us the fucking animated clone wars episodes that you guys did not animate the ones that we've been asking for or shut the fuck up about it already. I'm tired of this whole like oh oh remember Clone Wars shit yeah we do it was great move on we're we're new era oh what do you want them to do bro they're clearly going talking about a journey thing that she has to learn and reminisce about there's nothing wrong with that since when's when are flashbacks bad bro since when are flashbacks bad I swear to you I there was a part in this trailer that did not look like a flashback and he was right next to her and look she's she's still teaching him hold on hold on he's still teaching her look I know what you're gonna say you're gonna be like that's a forest ghost baby Yoda did that for for Luke Obi-Wan did that for Luke Qui-Gon's doing it for Obi-Wan Qui-Gon even did it for Obi-Wan up until recently right yeah I get that yeah yeah yeah when has the last time you seen Qui-Gon swing a lightsaber bro what do you mean when did when did yo when Yoda was on Dagabah when Yoda was on Dagabon and Luke went over there to train with him when did Yoda ever raise a lightsaber at him brought it because you don't have to be like you don't have to be like oh it's cool flippy stuff and boom boom boom boom boom they have wisdom within them they're older they're whatever he's a force ghost they don't have to go into this unnatural plane in order to reminisce and feel things and go back into this Clone Wars era just to be like oh remember remember when we used to do this kind of stuff too and you know the Clone Wars and you remember Anakin Skywalker and shit right like you like that stuff right and I'm like yeah I do like that stuff. Back then but I mean hating Christian coming back is cool. Seeing him in Clone Wars gear in live action is cool but okay then just go back and make a Clone Wars movie.

SPEAKER_07

Why are we still doing that in Ahsoka show that's supposed to be years years because it's not clone it's not Clone Wars eccentric. This has nothing to do with the Clone Wars it's clearly a lesson because it's supposed he's showing her a lesson that they learned a while back about whatever the fuck this Jedi is it's cool and you get the stuff and you get the oh the the gear and Hayden Christensen back and all that stuff but clearly it's a lesson that he's trying to teach her again I don't understand your your gripe with the like the literally cool shit I don't understand doom anakin like I don't understand I said I'm um I want to see what happens I'm just saying that there's no way in hell that you're gonna try to gaslight me as there was no buildup for that thing.

SPEAKER_03

This is another gripe this is a this is if you're not listening to me sir open your ears this is a why are we shoving a bunch of clone war shit into a show that is completely years years down the road and then on top of that you're bringing up a plot line again of a show that is animated that people have to go back to do uh multi at least two or three four episodes to understand what's even happening here and then get to this show and that's just off top that's off dome right here that's that's me knowing Star Wars knowledge that's me knowing ball I'm saying that this is a lot of information to even for like a Star Wars fan to be like oh yeah how am I even supposed to know that how do I even know that they're probably gonna give you exposition but why the fuck are we even getting to that point? We could talk about it. Obi-Wan just talked about it we got one line in the new hope oh you your father was a great warrior in the Clone Wars what the fuck the Clone Wars we got fucking three movies of it okay like a one line spanned a trilogy that's how much mystery and subtlety takes everything but when you do all this stuff and you just blast it in people's faces it's like you're it's like you're like man look at my look at my dick it's swinging everywhere look at this shit it's all it's huge isn't it like well no not really you're just you're overcompensating at this point just give us the show that we want and that's Ahsoka going through her new trials and tribulations and if they want us to to grapple with the whole hey I want us to be you know I want to be a Jedi again or I feel like you know Jedi and Anakin wants to be a part of that let him be the wisdom guide but he doesn't have to pick up a lightsaber either I okay sure but he's giving it to you in a way that is cool and unboring or whatever and like that's that's gotta be the difference.

SPEAKER_07

It's fucking that's it's just cool shit bro it's cool.

SPEAKER_03

I mean yeah it's cool like okay well whatever okay yeah I understand cool shit or whatever but I maybe I like more substance than just boom bang pow and cheek tickets because like don't get me wrong like when Rogue One came out that was amazing because it was like new it was fresh you know it was a new part of the story it didn't feel like it was hanging on to anything and then when you finally got the reveal that it was connected to something it felt earned right by the end of the movie. This one you know when you hold on to when and I'm just gonna leave it here because I think you'll understand this is that when you automatically start promoting it like oh yeah we're gonna use old stuff to kind of drive you in or whatever and then you know it's not even old stuff it's new stuff packaged it's old stuff packaged as new stuff to to basically still melt the shit out of it because you don't have to do member berries and all that and then they're still gonna have to give you that plot line to me there's a difference you need to earn by being connected to those things and Ahsoka just because oh yeah I was on the Clone Wars and I was Anakin's Padawan automatically you get the this whole extra movement and leg room sure okay whatever we'll give you that but you gotta be able to stand on your own you can't keep holding on to Anakin Skywalker you can't keep holding on to all these things where is her show her own independent show where you know she has to deal with her own new things. You know what I mean? It's been down it's been years like I said it's been years. She should probably have her you know she should probably have new uh shit to worry about and not the same shit.

SPEAKER_07

I don't know man I think she's just she's still learning it all and he has to teach her like that's the that's the point. That's the whole point.

SPEAKER_03

I guess I guess no Star Wars Starfighter trailer um but we the we did get an uh a little appearance from I think Sean Levy oh and Ryan Gosling. They spoke about it but uh that's about it they just basically said it was canon and they showed no footage which I thought it was crazy. Uh the Hex voice cast was there Walter Goggins Jody Foster and uh what's her name? Helly Steinfeld Haley Steinfeld there you go I forgot her name yes Zotopia 3 was announced we got a little camera thing about that too I don't know if you have seen that but it was a cool little thing where you got a little three at the end there. And yeah that was basically it a little talk about frozen three not really a big fan of frozen three but if you guys are that's great. But yeah that was mostly the big thing the last but not certainly not least we have the vision quest trailer so we have to we have to react to that. That's gonna be interesting. Um what do we think about vision? Obviously vision's been Gone for a while.

SPEAKER_10

The last time before you start working here, can you work?

SPEAKER_03

Thank you. I know Vision has been gone for a while. The last time we saw Vision was back in what 2021, right?

SPEAKER_07

In Wanda Wanda Vision.

SPEAKER_03

Um last time we saw it, it wasn't even Vision. Vision was fake. He disappeared with Wanda's imagination, and the rebuilt vision had got him memories from that vision and went off to gain sentience, right? And has been gone ever since. We haven't seen him ever since. Uh this is where we're supposed to catch up with him and finally meet up with uh Vision. What are we what are we expecting with this? This is this is the this was the icing on the cake, though. This was the last one that Marvel is basically saying to hey, this is the last one we're putting out. No more TV shows except for basically Daredevil. And I mean, I guess if they have another hit on their hands, they'll probably do that too. But I mean, what are we thinking about a Disney Plus show revolved about revolved around vision, first of all, that was announced a long time ago. So you probably know about this way back in 2021 when we talked about it way back when as well. And here we are in 2026, basically barely seeing a trailer for it.

SPEAKER_07

Um I'm excited. I'm not gonna lie. I think I've been waiting for this. I've been anticipating this one, this one, and along with Armor Wars that we are never getting again.

SPEAKER_04

But I don't think we're getting that one, though.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, no, we're never getting that one. But uh yeah, I think this I think I'm excited. I've always kind of liked Vision as a character, and I I know we're getting like Ultron back and stuff, so I can't wait to see that dynamic again. It's gonna be good.

unknown

Okay, okay.

SPEAKER_03

Um I'm I'm hoping I'm hoping we get a lot of that dude who played Ultron. I want his actor in this one a lot, and I know he's gonna be in here, so I hope he's not just reduced to cameo. I hope we get him up like a good handful. And that's the only thing I hope. Because other than that, this hype for this show has been gone for a while. Like, let's just be honest. Like, this one's the one that Marvel buried, and you know, between this and you just said it yourself, armor wars, this is what rose to the top. Ugh.

SPEAKER_07

Crazy. You would never expect it, but you know, it it happened, and I'm we we gotta be here for it.

SPEAKER_03

So let's jump into it.

SPEAKER_10

Before you start working here, I remember when you come in all the time and that little time.

SPEAKER_00

I was a different person back then.

SPEAKER_04

The final trilogy of what? What they call it?

SPEAKER_07

Um I think Wanda's trilogy or something like that.

SPEAKER_04

Experience the final vision. Yeah, of uh the groundbreaking trilogy.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, so I guess they're I guess they're counting I guess Wanda stuff, I think they said. So it's like Wanda Vision Fucking Doctor Strange and what this one?

SPEAKER_01

That'd be the trilogy.

SPEAKER_07

I would assume so.

unknown

What the fuck?

SPEAKER_07

She played a heavy ass role in it in Doctor Strange, so I would assume Agatha, right? Would it be Agatha? I didn't see Agatha, so Agatha had nothing to do with Wanda.

SPEAKER_03

Wanda Vision, Vision Quest.

SPEAKER_07

I'm pretty sure it's Doctor Strange.

SPEAKER_04

That gotta be a typo, right? What are we talking about a trilogy?

SPEAKER_07

I swear they were talking about the Wanda stuff, so it has to be Doctor Strange. And that's like a a loose tie-in tie-in to all this stuff. Like Wanda got her finish, and so now we're just waiting to see what vision ending looks like.

unknown

Oh.

SPEAKER_07

Assuming that she's dead, which I mean if we got her back by now, she's probably dead.

SPEAKER_03

Or they haven't paid her enough. I I think I'm digging it for what it is. I do like the whole existential crisis in within the robot's mind is pretty cool. The actor is we're gonna it seems like we're gonna get a lot of the actor that who played Ultron because they don't have to CGI Ultron because they're gonna just make 'em be humans the whole time. Which is cool with me. I don't know, I might be down, but this is this is like a like a great Gatsby, Wizard of Oz, like what else? Um it felt like kind of um like ready player one-ish in a way too. So it's like, I don't know, this is pretty I thought it looked pretty nice. It looks pretty good. Don't look too bad. I'm actually surprised that this looks good, it being in limbo for so long. I maybe they were just really trying to perfect this one. I like it though. I like it. I don't know where the trilogy is, but I like it. I'm pretty sure Multiverse of Madness, you can't say that.

SPEAKER_07

I'm pretty sure that's what they mean. I think Kevin even came out and said that like when they announced this at Comic Con, they were like, this is gonna be the ending to all that. So I'm pretty sure it's WandaVision, Doctor Strange, and fucking this one.

SPEAKER_03

Um Marvel the Vision Quest trilogy, the WandaVision trilogy by Marvel is a three-part Marvel Center arc that explores the three is WandaVision, oh yeah, WandaVision, Agatha, and Vision Quest.

SPEAKER_07

I did not ain't nobody see Agatha, bro. There's no way. I am not watching that shit. What what what what she that has nothing to do with Wanda? Wanda's not even in there.

SPEAKER_03

So it says the starting point of the arc follows Wanda Maximov, and then you get White Vision, Agatha all along, you get the second chapter, which centers around Agatha Harkness, sets up key magical characters and elements tied to the broader corner of the story, and then you get Vision Quest, the final chapter. The conclusion, James Spader, Paul Bent, Bethany. Yeah. So you have to watch so you have to watch Agatha.

SPEAKER_07

That's so weird. I don't give a fuck about Agatha, bro.

SPEAKER_03

You gotta watch Agatha.

SPEAKER_07

I didn't give a fuck about her.

SPEAKER_03

I know all I know is that how do you go from TV to there's no way that you can go to multiverse mana? I mean, that would have been more enjoyable. That would be if you gotta rewatch it or something, but that would be my conclusion.

SPEAKER_07

You're telling me it has to involve Wanda. Wanda isn't in Agatha all along.

SPEAKER_03

But Agatha is in Wanda.

SPEAKER_07

This is ridiculous. That's just a stupid question.

SPEAKER_03

Will Wanda show up in Vision Quest is the question.

SPEAKER_07

I mean, here his eyes were going red, so maybe.

SPEAKER_03

A little tease? A little tease that she might show up.

SPEAKER_07

If we get if the outcome is that we get the twins, alright. Maybe, maybe you got me. Cause that's supposed that because we got what? We got Wiccan and fucking WandaV or Agatha and we getting Tommy in this one. So maybe I could get down with that. Maybe.

SPEAKER_03

Who's that right here? Who is that? Who is that?

SPEAKER_07

Probably not Wanda.

SPEAKER_03

Why say it like that? Like like I can't be uh like I can't be a who's who's those people on the like I can't be a new rock star or something. Look at that. You know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_07

I don't know, dude. I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

Anyway, but I do think I do think this is probably the most the most oh that was another one. Um Mr. Nobody. It kind of reminds me of Mr. Nobody too in a way. I don't know. Visually, it looks really nice. It looks really like pleasing to me.

SPEAKER_07

I'm I'm very interested in all three trailers. That's that's that was that's that's good.

SPEAKER_03

I'm interested in Vision Quest. Ahsoka looked good from a point of view, so I'm hoping that it gets better. And well, there's you know, doomsday. I want to see what happens. Hopefully they can capitalize off brand new day. I have to wait and see though. Let us know what you guys think. D23 is over, though. We are done with it. Uh, if any other news comes out, anything dribbles out, we'll we'll talk about it. If they release a trailer, we will react to it later. As of right now, this is what we have. So let us know what you guys think. Uh tons of trailers, tons of news. Uh Disney, Disney adults. I'm pretty sure you're excited. Tons of Lilo and Stitch merch is gonna be going on sale, I'm pretty sure. So be excited for those things as well. Let us know your guys' thoughts. Moving on, Josh. The Ellisons, David Ellison, Paramount. Okay, they're doing what they can. All right. They're hustling and bustling behind the scenes from threatening to leave California, um, to move their studio somewhere else to basically take away, take away money from California is is the biggest threat. Um, to them kind of buckling their knees, and you know, even the DJA, Christopher Nolan, the director of the directors guild of association, uh, is basically willing to do negotiations. Uh, David Ellison is also trying to get a contractual uh obligation down saying that Warner Brothers, Paramount Warner Brothers will be putting out 30 films a year. I know some people are skeptical about that, I included. Um, but apparently, according to the Ellisons, or at least David Ellison, his plan is to produce 15 movies out a studio. Paramount does their 15, Warner Brothers do their 15. That's 30 movies a year. Um and they're hoping that this contract basically gets them out of this whole limbo state. And, you know, hopefully they get a negotiation down before I believe it's supposed to be before October 1st, because that is when they have to start paying the holding fee every single day until they get their trial. $7 billion every single day until they get a trial. Unsustainable. I mean, shit, yeah.

SPEAKER_07

No, there's no way, bro. They are gonna be so broke they want to try and produce 30 movies. That's not gonna happen. That's insane. If it sure, you they could just be just like Netflix could be could have just been saying, Oh, yeah, we're gonna do box office stuff, you know, just for them to come out and be like, we're not doing box office stuff. Yeah, no, they could very very much be saying this and it not come true, you know what I mean?

SPEAKER_03

So I mean, if they're if they're planning to do contracts with the actual theater chains, because that's what that's what they're trying to do, to you know, to make sure that they know like jobs will not be lost. They there will be, you know, jobs will be lost, but not at a capacity that they're claiming that they're gonna do it in a in a way that will be done to reserve money, but also keep a good amount of jobs flowing, you know, for the studios and whatnot. And so this is kind of like their answer to that, saying that we will have jobs, we will there will be work because we will put out 30 films a year. Now, will all those be box office draws? I don't know. We gotta look at we gotta look at Paramount's track record, right? We gotta look at the track record, not including one of the movies that they recently leaked, but let's just go ahead and look at the track record real quick and see if they can if they can produce bangers.

SPEAKER_07

I mean they couldn't even they couldn't without Tom Cruise's help. I I don't even think they could do shit like that. Like it like unfortunately, even his last Mission Impossible was kind of bad.

SPEAKER_03

So I mean they put out Jackass.

SPEAKER_07

I didn't watch that one.

SPEAKER_03

It was bad. It was bad, it didn't do a lot. Smile 2 did okay. Gladiator did not do as much as they wanted it to do. No. Um Scary Movie did great, apparently.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, Scary Movie did great.

SPEAKER_03

Um Street Fighter's gonna be coming out pretty soon. Can't wait for that one.

SPEAKER_07

I think that one would do pretty good.

SPEAKER_03

You know, these are all the ones that already came out. TMNT didn't do that well, but they're still making a sequel, so we gotta think about that one.

SPEAKER_07

That was an development way before. I don't think it's getting a third one.

SPEAKER_03

Right? That came out recently. Yeah. Yeah. They're having issues with behind the scenes of children with blood and bone. Sonic 3 was great.

SPEAKER_07

Sonic 4 could be good.

SPEAKER_03

So I mean, Primate didn't do too good. No, that one was actually not a great movie either, so we gotta be gotta be a little honest about that. Uh like I said, the leaked movie, Spongebob movie didn't do too well, but I mean I Spice was in it, so big guy. Big guy.

SPEAKER_07

If they if okay, if the track record is already kind of spotty, and WB kinda also has a spotty kind of shit. I mean, the d every movie they gonna make might fall on its face.

SPEAKER_03

But WB, you know, they've been having at least some kind of hits with it, whether it's Barbie, you know, Sinners. It's like Universal has even had a the grand hit. I'm I'm trying to I'm struggling to think when was the last time Paramount had a big hit besides you just said it, Top Gun, or you know, yeah, I think it was just Top Gun. I want to say Top Gun was like the last huge hit. Naked Gun did okay. It was just a parody movie. Better Man flopped. I know that movie didn't do too good. Um Smurfs flopped. I keep trying to bring the Smurfs back. I don't understand that like I think that the franchise is dead. Just make a cartoon. Just leave it as a cartoon. Um yeah no, but I I don't I don't see I don't see Paramount having huge hits as of recently, unfortunately. They have one here or there, but I feel like Warner Brothers has been a little bit more consistent. Um another strategy, another bold strategy that we have to see if it works out for Paramount and the gang is their plan slate for 2028 and 2027 possibly. 2027 through 2028, possibly. They are planning to release multiple directors' cuts, which fans are also hoping that includes the Snyder cut actually getting a real, real, actual IMAX rollout and release date. Hopefully getting the air cut of you know whatever movies he has, not limited to David Ayers Suicide Squad, so hopefully that happens as well. Apparently, extended cuts of Harry Potter kind of doing like that whole um Lord of the Rings thing where you put a lot of you know old footage or you know, footage that you think would have been cool, you know, brush it up with CGI or whatever, and then put it within the movie. You know, also Star Wars has been doing that for multiple years as well, and for the Star Trek trilogy. So, I mean, we got a few things that Paramount's basically gonna throw money at to kind of make as a gimmick. I'm not sure as if this is you know great planning. We also talked about what they were trying to do, and they're kind of fighting within themselves at this point with the whole Elm Street thing where they're trying to, you know, either go script by script, bar for bar, original remake, or they want to go a whole different route and completely you know flip the genre on its head. So, I mean, Josh, Paramount has a plan. Will this plan work out in their favor, though?

SPEAKER_07

Um I don't know. I I mean I would like to see the Snyder cut in theaters, but I mean, a lot of these things are are I can't lie, a lot of these things are kind of older things by now. So, like, as much as as cool as it could be, I'm just not sure if if they can do this and it'd be the hit that they're looking for.

SPEAKER_03

Josh, if Zack Snyder's Justice League comes out on 70 millimeter IMAX, Josh, we're going to that. What are you talking about? We are we are buying to the side.

SPEAKER_07

I'm not saying I won't be there. I'm saying I don't know if this tragedy is gonna work for them like they think it will.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, yeah, because they gotta think too. I mean, well, in the certain exceptions, like Snyder's like Justice League, that's already done, right? If they do like, let's say they do pour money into David Ayers' uh Suicide Squad, they gotta pour money into that and also recoup some money from it, which would technically be free money because the the Suicide Squad did not do bad in theaters, you know what I mean? It just didn't make the money that they were expecting, which is crazy because I think it made like 800 million or something like that.

SPEAKER_07

So I saw that movie so many times in theaters, bro. That shit made made well over what people were talking about. And they want to say that it was bad.

SPEAKER_03

All this money is gonna just be pocketed money for them. The only ones that I see that they would have to put money for is possibly a Harry Potter. Uh they would have to obviously put a little bit of money into CGI or whatever. Maybe they give us Star Trek uh a new addition, like what Star Wars used to do, where they, you know, uh maybe they remaster the original one and they give us a better looking troll for the for the you know what is it, the very first movie? The Sorcerer's Stone. Um Star Trek, I mean what are they gonna put out? Like extended cuts of like the JJ Abrams versions of them. I mean if that's the case. I would probably I probably wouldn't get a move ticket to those. I don't know. I would I would have to be torn. It depends on what they actually plan to put on one of those ones, but that would be a di a deciding thing whether I get a ticket to the actual movie theater or not. But the some of these things I would see David Ayer's Suicide Squad in in theaters. That'd be free money. I would I would probably watch that shit.

SPEAKER_07

That's fine. I'd watch it, but I just I just don't know how lucrative it is for them. That's that's the thing.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Like I said, the only ones I think they gotta possibly pour money to is obviously Aircut, maybe the Harry Potter movies, possibly a little bit into the the Star Trek ones, because those are I mean, those are already newer, so I mean if they already have already rendered stuff, they could just add the CGI for a little bit cheaper and boom boom boom, whatever. Um, and Snyder's I mean, I already think Snyder that his thing was so limited that I already believe if they put Snyder Justice League out in IMAX, it will sell out.

SPEAKER_07

I'm pretty sure.

SPEAKER_03

So that's like all free money. So I mean it's a good strategy, but I don't I mean, you could probably do Star Wars numbers where you only make like what 200 300 million on the side or something like that, um which would be I guess a profit regardless. But I don't know, I don't know how sustainable this is. Them trying to do 30 movies a a year, putting that in ink, moving their studio if they don't get their way in California, and then on top of that, want To put out remakes or not remakes, but at least remasters of old movies with extended footages, directors' cuts, if you will. It's a bold strategy, Cotton. We gotta see how it works out for him. I don't know. This one, I don't know. I like on one hand, it sounds like a good idea. Like, this is something where I would be like, I would probably buy a couple tickets to some of these movies. You know what I mean? I'm pretty sure CJ would probably want to go watch a couple Harry Potter movies with you. I'm 100%. Like, she would probably be like, What? Let's go, we're going. Deck deck in Harry Potter gear. Like, you guys would probably be that supporter right there. So, I mean, there's a little bit of something for everybody. It seems like they're trying to sprinkle the bucket anywhere they can go, and in a way, kind of gauging the room to see if maybe Snyder want to come back to finish to boogie for DC. You know what I'm saying? Because there is some rumors going around, and we're gonna be talking about DC right about now. Let us know what you guys think about Paramount and their legal troubles. They are doing their best to keep their themselves from having to spend so much damn money. Will it pay off for them? We'll have to wait and see. But Warner Brothers, uh, like I said, this is kind of like a two-sided coin because they are the same coin at this point. But Warner Brothers apparently made a lot of chatter over the week, okay? And you know, and it's all because of this man right here. And if you don't know who I'm talking about, it's Zack Snyder himself. Yes, the man, the myth, the legend, the guy who, in my opinion, might be coming back to finish his DC universe, or you know, do a couple DC movies in his own capacity. We'll have to wait and see what that what that has in store. But he did go on the WB lot, and you know, apparently, according to rumors, it's all been love. They've been, you know, hugging it out. It's been all, you know, basically the way that they're describing it is like a hero's welcome, like a like a return of the king type shit. Okay. Um the tabloids put out a uh a thing saying that it was just an X caliber uh viewing saying that you know that it was you know it felt like they were really embracing Zack Snyder back and all that stuff. Now that you know new leadership's coming around. Obviously, Paramount's kind of in charge now. And if him and you know the Ellisens and Paramount are smitten and that kind of leaks over to the WB lot seems to be all good, okay? It seems to be all good in the hood when it comes to that. And I just wanted to just start this whole DC conversation with that. Zack Snyder is making news for just walking on the WB lot, okay? I just wanna. Josh. I just wanted to let you know that, okay?

SPEAKER_07

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

What do you think about the hero's welcome, really quick? Like, what do you think about like hearing that like you know, this is like him coming on the lot and people are just like embracing him with open arms.

SPEAKER_07

I think it's great. I think it's it's a proper way of doing things and hopefully mending what the previous regime did to him. I think this is a good idea. Or I thought it was I thought welcoming that way. Welcoming uh welcoming him in that way was good.

SPEAKER_03

Opening opening their arms and hoping that he comes back, you know, not in a bad way, because you could always give another director. But Zack Snyder has kind of been, you know. Say what I I could say what I will about, you know, Rebel Moon. But what I can't say is that movie's ugly. That movie's a beautiful movie. Like that it is what it is. Even the director's cut. Like, I I want to see the ri the his version, but I just I need the time. I need to figure out how I'm gonna get invested into something like that. But we'll we'll see. It's kind of hard to put burning tits in the beginning of the movie, anyways. Um Zack Snyder, like I said, went to the lot, but on the other hand, James Gunn's not having a great time, okay? Where D23 had rolled around, like I said, praises for everybody. Zack Snyder rolled around, praises for him. Apparently, due to the flop of uh Supergirl, James Gunn has been hard at work 16 to 18 hour days, focused on man of tomorrow, only focused on man of tomorrow. Uh saying aslov saying things that I saw some pictures yesterday and they looked amazing, and this was a couple of weeks ago, okay? So let's just be honest here. This was a couple of weeks ago at the time of recording. This was back in the beginning of August, probably like 10 days ago, okay. Um Zaslov basically came out when we talked about it a few days ago as well, saying, Hey, and this is uh this is what I mean. This is an article that we spoke about. Zaslov came out saying that they're holding course, nothing has moved, everything's as steady as can be, but also forgot to mention that there was also 16 to 18 hour days for James Gunn. Okay, so that is another interesting factor that Zazlov decided to go ahead and unveil. On top of that, tabloids and reports are saying that Waller and Paradise Lost are dead in the water. Uh extreme development, that's something that uh James Gunn had basically dubbed Paradise Lost as basically under extreme development. Apparently, both series are basically dead in the water, so much so that Waller has already taken a different role over there on Paramount for a Paramount Plus show. So, interesting enough, we're gonna be singing Amanda Waller or at least Viola Davis over there on Paramount Plus. Um, couple that up with some lantern news, but first let's talk about the little bit that we have here now, Josh. Like I said, withheld information, we did not know that James Gunn was working 16 to 18 hour days after this Supergirl flop. This must have happened after they saw they were not recouping anything after the second weekend, but also lost more money. So, and with Supergirl being out of the theaters already with only making literally less than Morbius, literally making around like 200 million dollars, which let's just say is the saddest, saddest part of all this. Look, we talked about this. James Gunn is is in deep shit. Um, it doesn't seem like his contract's getting renewed, especially when Paramount takes over. What do we think about the official confirmation that James Gunn is hard as work on this man of tomorrow getting their money's worth at this point when it comes to James Gunn? And we got two series that are basically DOA.

SPEAKER_07

Alright, one, let's hope uh he can crack it and get it in the bag. Two, I mean, we kind of figured this would happen, dude. I I don't think there's anything unpositive to say other than like we knew that this would happen. He couldn't half the slate he was talking about hasn't been greenlit or done. He has he's nowhere near the blueprints he was talking about at first. So this is this is just another one of those things that shows.

SPEAKER_03

We gotta we gotta talk about the you know the bad the bad side of everything, right? Supergirl flopping, Waller, Paradise Lost. Look, I didn't even think these were gonna be made, let's just be honest.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, no.

SPEAKER_03

Never really thought about it, so it is what it is. But PR being so bad for lanterns to the point where they're fine we're finding out that AI was used to figure out Lobo's design. Can we can we talk about this? Can we talk about this? Can we talk about the video? And I can't even pull up the video because they scrubbed it as much as they can. Um, but there's videos out there of them using AI to basically figure out Lobo's look.

SPEAKER_07

Disgusting. The fact that Jim's gonna let that shit fly. Oh, here it is. Disgusting.

SPEAKER_03

There's no voice, but this is the gif. Um I guess this is the closest we're gonna get.

SPEAKER_07

They were AI shopping what Lobo should look like instead of There's there's fucking fan art, there's fan edits, there's tons of comics out there. Uh there no, there's no reason to use AI. There's no reason to use AI, and two, there was no reason to give this motherfucker a bodysuit. There's no way. You throw that motherfucker in the gym and give him red eyes, bro.

SPEAKER_03

So whose fault is this? Is this oh yeah, the bodysuit too? That was insane. So whose fault is this? Is this a James Gunn thing or is this a Craig Giuseppe thing?

SPEAKER_07

Both. Jason Momoa thing, too. All three of them.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, yeah, they're all the corporate, huh? That's crazy. You go from the king of Atlantis to AIing your look and you know, in some of the best shape that I've ever seen them as the king of Atlantis.

SPEAKER_07

And too much Guinness. Too much Guinness. Not putting on a body screen. Yeah, he's on that Guinness diet.

SPEAKER_03

You know, and if you think PR for James Gunn cannot get any worse, uh, I just feel like we're dogpiling at this point. Like I said, it's kind of hard to keep coming into this booth and have to keep giving bad news when it comes to DC. But we're gonna have to dog pile. Warner Brothers seems to be moving lanterns away from James Gunn's name in order to sell uh more television screens at this point to basically get people to watch more. Uh Lanterns basically not claiming James Gunn and saying that Jay that Lanterns has been a a show that has been in the works with Tom King since months months prior before James Gunn even arrived. James Gunn was the only one that who basically stood there and allowed it to happen because he is the head of DC Studios, but everything else was not Gunn's idea. That is basically the thinking when trying to sell this thing. This has nothing to do with James Gunn. Are you gonna watch Lanterns tonight at the time of recording? And because now you know that James Gunn has nothing to do with lanterns.

SPEAKER_07

I might. But it's also Tom King, and Tom King isn't the most fucking he isn't the go he isn't a good writer at all either, so. Like, did you end up watching the five minutes like I told you?

SPEAKER_03

No.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, okay. But go fucking Tom King isn't the best writer.

SPEAKER_03

So I mean I was gonna watch the first episode today.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, I might maybe. Yeah, I think so. Just so we just cause I know we're gonna talk about it, but like the the first five minutes didn't wow me, the trailer hasn't wow, the trailers haven't wowed me. I'm really going in with low expectations. If this ends up being better, it doesn't matter.

SPEAKER_03

It doesn't matter if guns names on it or not.

SPEAKER_07

No. But this is I mean, I guess this is fine. This is kind of like the guy, this is like fucking like oh yeah, we got um Superman and Lois, but it it they're not part of the CW, but they are part of the CW, but we're just gonna give them a bigger budget and put it on HBO because we know it's a good show. Yeah, like that's fine. That's I guess that's fine.

SPEAKER_03

No James Gunn is crazy. A lot of guns things are gonna come to light. Um, like I said, I think I talked about this before, but I think a lot of this stuff's gonna come to light because I think at this point, them trying to sell a show without Gunn's name on top of it is kind of funny because he is the head of DC Studios. And, you know, the fact that he's shitting the bed this hard that it's getting to the point where, you know, this whole AI fiasco right here is basically making people reconsider this scene right here. And I'm gonna let you rewatch it. I know you remember this famous scene, but we're gonna rewatch it together, Josh, because I know you love it. Let's go. Is that, and this is something that's been talked about multiple times to death, but it's coming back into light, is the two sons. Hi, baby. Good morning. Is the two suns. So we get two sons in this scene, right? He basically goes up, uh, he does a little flip, there's a sun on the left side of the corner, and then when he goes straight up into the air, the sun is up in the sky.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

And a lot of people, I know some people were like, oh, this is a CGI era, this is a CGI budget, this is a CGI problem. But some people are looking back at this and saying, It's AI, it's an AI issue. What are we thinking?

SPEAKER_07

Okay, I mean, I if it is AI, that's bad, okay. And I don't I'm not gonna call for the witch hunt of it or whatever. I this movie's I don't think about this movie, but if it is AI, it's bad. The fact that James Gunn is dying that shit slide, it's bad. I do think camera angles and angling and all that stuff is like one of the worst detriments to Hollywood right now because they don't film outside no more. And the they're like, oh, we need the sun for light, oh, but we're not outside. Fucking, and then we need we gotta get this cool shot of his shadow or whatever, but the sun isn't at the right angle, so let's just move the fucking sun. But it's like, well, if the sun isn't at that setting by the time you need it, you need to rethink your shot, right? Right. So I would say if it is AI, it's bad, but regardless, it's still a bad call because you don't know how fucking suns work, bro. Like that's come on now.

SPEAKER_03

I gotta say, the whole scene is kind of bad though.

SPEAKER_07

I thought the whole scene does look ugly, but that's that's what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_03

Like people are talking about like the two sons. I'm just like, that whole scene is just like atrocious to watch. I I just hate rewatching it. That whole flip thing where he does the little flip and the cape like disappears for like a cool second.

SPEAKER_07

That's why I remember when that tri when that piece of the from the trailer came out, people were talking about that.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, like the clip just I understand it's a flip, and you know, the cape flips or whatever, but I don't know, it's just the way that it moved, it was just not fluid at all.

SPEAKER_07

Right.

SPEAKER_03

But yeah. Um, but this is what I mean where like we're getting to a dark, dark place, right? Um, but at one point everybody loved James Gunn and the DC, and you know, everybody wanted to be a part of it. Influencers were in his chat. Uh, there was a lot of gunners that were out there defending everything that happened. They're still doing it to this day. But like I said, the lo the noise has gotten less loud on the defensive side and it's gotten a lot more louder on the offensive. Um, a lot more people are starting to notice the bad that James Gunn has been doing to the DC, um basically the DCU, to the point where, you know, and they deleted this on Twitter, but there was a fan page called DCU Films or GCU News or something like that. They put out a little lanterns clip of uh Hal Jordan taking off, or no, no, no, of Jon Stewart trying to take off and the ring doesn't let thing farts, and people thought it was real. It was going all over Twitter and it was people thought it was real, that it was a part of the the show, and I believe that's what basically prompted the the article to basically come out where you know they basically wash their hands of gun and say lanterns has nothing to do with gun. That the fact that his uh this little meme thing was taken seriously to the point where people are like there's gonna actually be a fucking fart that Jon Stewart does because he can't fly. Um and it wasn't more so that it was fake or whatever, because if it was fake and it was a joke, it probably would have rubbed off that way. But it's the fact that there's been a lot of those things, right? There's been a lot of P jokes, there's been a lot of you know, there's orgy jokes, there's you know, there's a lot of there's a lot of you know uncanny jokes that you see in this in this universe that you don't see in the DCU, you don't see in the MCU for sure. You don't see that shit in the MCU. Um you've never seen it in that little mummy universe that they were trying to build off. Like, there's no universe that gets as vulgar as I've seen the DCU get, and as nasty with that orgy orgy shit in Peacemaker Season 2, which is supposed to be something that Superman was supposed to prepare you to go watch.

SPEAKER_07

Right, right. And so it's kind of like although fan edit, uh I was making the the argument also where it's just like even if it was fake, if people are believing it, it's because they can expect it from this kind of fucking universe at this point, and like people are like, What no, that's crazy and it's just like well then you haven't been paying attention and you haven't been watching, like you're saying you are. You the same peacemaker, the same thing that James Gunn said to go check out after Superman, Superman also has jokes like that. Like, yes, people are going to expect that even if it is fake. Like, that's the point. So it's Supergirl, yeah. Supergirl has shit like that, it's just yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know. Yeah.

SPEAKER_07

What can you do?

SPEAKER_03

It just it's you know, it's a terrible look, it's bad, and you know, that people are actually jumping back to Superman 2025 and questioning whether or not that was AI as well. I seen some dude basically put out a video of him watching out uh the 2025 version of Superman and he just basically drags it. It's a hilarious watch. It made my laugh so bad. Too funny. Uh, but yeah, I mean let us know what you guys think of the DC DCU. Will James Gunn keep his job? Um yeah. It's bad. It's bad. Like I just we have to talk about it because it's we i we were following it up to the very end. But this is worse than the DC EU. Like the DC EU was unceremoniously killed, but like this feels like James Gunn is like like he strangled it himself unknowingly. Like he basically set this whole prop up, right? He basically set up this whole stage, he set it to go, the actors tripped, everybody started dangling, uh the set fell over. Like it's just it's it's crazy to see.

SPEAKER_07

It's not a good look.

SPEAKER_03

And now we gotta witness it. This didn't take that long, Josh. I don't know what kind of like weird voodoo stuff you're doing over there, doing some weird, like let's go ahead and just make the DCU rot for some reason. But hey man, it's working.

SPEAKER_07

I'm just saying, it's fucking working, dude.

SPEAKER_03

Fucking working. Uh let us know what you guys think though. DCU is struggling and it's not getting any better. Let us know your guys' thoughts. Moving on, Josh. Last but not least, we're moving to our last two topics. Josh, hang in there with me. One Netflix uh movie, which is directed by Ben Affleck. And just to follow up on a quick Barbie scoop that we talked about, Barbie 2, we already talked about that you know, Barbie 2 is just not happening as rapidly as uh Mattel wants it to. Um, and after the news broke that apparently Warner Brothers has been basically attempting to uh get the cast back, but the casts are basically saying no, we need more money. Warner Brothers uh decided to do another attempt. One of their biggest attempts that they've tried as of lately, apparently they've been trying since 2023, it's 2026 now, and still we are still getting a nose from Margot Robbie's team, and we're getting no's from uh Ryan Gosling's team, which fair enough. Ryan Gosling is now busy with Starfighter and also Ghost Rider. So, I mean, how much time does he actually have to be Ken? Not that much time without a little bit extra money. Margot Robbie, on the other hand, I look. I don't know how much money she wants, but Barbie was a hit, nonetheless, it was good, sure. But we gotta keep it a buck fifty unless we're getting another Oppenheimer Barbie effect. What Barbie's not making as much money as it basically did. I got we gotta say that the event that basically drove him out was that Oppenheimer Barbenheimer shit. Um, a lot of people really ran with that. People went from watching Oppenheimer to watching Barbie, Barbie to Oppenheimer, you know. Either somebody just watched Barbie that weekend, they went back the next weekend to watch Oppenheimer, like it really played a really good role. Same thing with Sinners that you know it had its own little gimmick going on at the time, too. So, like gimmicks and lightning in the bottles happen, and it does happen sometimes. And I do think that happened for Barbie. Can that happen for Barbie too? I Don't know. Like I said, the same thing with Margot Robbie. I don't know how much Margot Robbie's asking for. Uh, I don't think Ryan Gosling should be getting that much money either for a Barbie sequel. But he is more busy than Margot Robbie, in my opinion. I don't know what Margot Robbie's doing, but I know he's you know he's in the cinematic universe now, so he's gonna be doing shit.

SPEAKER_07

I mean, I was never excited for Barbie 2. I kind of thought Barbie was like was selling out because it was Barbie, not for Oppenheimer like that. But I mean uh I guess if we get a one and done, that was kind of the point, so that's fine.

SPEAKER_03

Well, I don't think we're gonna get a one and done. I think if Mattel doesn't get Warner Brothers to do it by December, like we talked about, they're just gonna probably source it out to somebody else. Maybe go across the lots of Paramount. Boom. Uh or you know, who knows? Maybe they, you know, Paramount shells out the money whenever the acquisition actually goes through. But apparently nobody's uh satisfied with the upfront salaries. Uh, that they're not acting, they're not asking for box office because I believe that's a big contingency uh or a big point of contingency uh when it comes down to the negotiation part, because in the first movie, I believe Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling both got a piece of the pie as in the piece of the box office. So they got paid up front the money that they got, but then they also got a piece of the box office because of how well it did. So they were able to get something out of that as well. Apparently Gossling's team is not asking for that, neither is Margot Robbie, but that seems to be something that Warner Brothers is afraid of to want to give up. Robbie's asking for 50 million in back end salary, where Ryan Gossling is asking for 20 million. Ryan Gosling is more busy than Margot Robbie, and she's asking for 50 million dollars to play Barbie again. Are you fucking shitting me right now? Are you fucking d pooping me right now? You're pooping the shit out of me right now.

SPEAKER_07

She's the lead, bro.

SPEAKER_03

No who gives a shit? You ever heard of you you've seen you've seen that one show, Family Matters?

SPEAKER_07

Right.

SPEAKER_03

It used to be about the family, right? Because family matters, am I right?

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Guess who did so well that he kicked the door open and made the show about him?

SPEAKER_07

Urkel.

SPEAKER_03

Ryan Gosling is motherfucking Urkel. Okay, let me just tell you that right now. Okay. If if anybody should be asking for more money, it is him. Margot Robbie, she did good. Barbie's in the title, it's cool, whatever. Ryan Gosling sold that movie a little bit more than Margot Robbie did. In my opinion, maybe that's just a dude's opinion. I don't know. Barbie itself, if Ryan Gosling is asking for 20 mil, Margot Robbie should not be asking for not even a cent more than 25. Like, there's no like if you're gonna add you're the lead, so get five million more on top of it, but like you can't work, like it wouldn't have worked Barbie without Ken. I'm just saying that right now. And Ken won't work without Barbie. That's just gonna be a fact for me, too. I don't think you can get a Ken movie without a Barbie movie. I don't really without a Barbie thing. But 50 million? What is Margot Robbie doing right now? Riddle me this. What is Margo Robbie doing right now? She's asking for 50 million.

SPEAKER_07

I don't know, dude. She just I just know it's because she's the lead and she's being greedy about it. Maybe Ryan Gosling just isn't like that. He's just like, hey, 20 mil is cool with me, man.

SPEAKER_03

I got Ghost Rider. I'll I'll take that little piece of pocket change for a Barbie sequel. Right. So, because Margot Robbie wants to make this her fucking bread and butter. This ain't the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Get it together. It's Barbie. No, no, no, no, no. 50 million dollars? That's insane. I can't believe I just read that. I didn't even know that she was asking for that much. I thought it was anonymous. I thought she was gonna keep it under under the cuff. Roughly 50 million dollars and backing from the first movie. So she wants more money from the first movie too?

SPEAKER_07

That's insane.

SPEAKER_03

Greta also made tens of millions of dollars. I wonder if she's a part of it. Oh, okay. So the creative team, uh, Greta, she's okay with it. The only person that's holding the movie up is Margot Robbie.

SPEAKER_07

Because they might not want to pay her.

unknown

And she's the star of the movie.

SPEAKER_07

I mean, can you get someone else? If that's the case, if they really want to push her out of it.

SPEAKER_03

This is this is like the greed that they talk about in the Bible, right? Like this is like like a we joke about that shit, but like this is like this is real greed that you know. Okay. Just get some R we mean to do it. Fuck it.

SPEAKER_07

She's busy with the X-Men. No Barbie 2. We don't need a Barbie 2. We don't need it. The first one's fine.

SPEAKER_03

Well, I mean, like I said, it's either we get it from them and we get a a continuity, or we're just gonna get a recast from a different studio. So it's it's basically what what we want. Do we want a uh a rebooted Barbie with a different cast? Possibly just be like, oh, it's part of the Barbie universe or whatever, or the Barbie series or something, and it's just like different Barbies or whatever, or we get a continuity with the same Barbie cast just playing Barbie in the real world. What I would assume naturally the movie would go. Barbie in the real world, Ken still kind of navigating his way through the Barbie world, and yeah.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, man. I don't know. I don't know about this one's cause I'm a little skeptical about it. I'm I don't even I don't even think I care enough about a second one.

SPEAKER_03

No, okay. So Margot Robbie should just either do it for half the money, which I would say 25 mil would be fair, in my opinion. I don't know. Do you think that'd be fair? Do you think she do they should pay that 50?

SPEAKER_07

I think uh dude, I mean, with the errors numbers that people be getting anyway, I guess it's not unheard of to demand more money.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, she was kind of like the face and last of the first one, so but I feel like 50 mil is what like RDJ was making after like Civil War.

SPEAKER_07

Oh no, man.

SPEAKER_03

Because RGJ was not making that type of money until like Civil War, Spider-Man Homecoming, like all that stuff, like that's when he started making money like hand over fist, because in the beginning of the Marvel, like he wasn't making that much money. By the second Iron Man movie, he made a little bit more, he was making a little bit more. He wasn't making like top, top, like 50, 40, 40 mil a movie until like I would say until like Civil War. And that that was like how many movies is that in? That's like that's well over like five movies in, right?

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, roughly. I mean what three on three single, two ensemble, and then by civil wife would be the third ensemble, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, Margot only did one that did really well. Granted, it did really well.

SPEAKER_07

Exactly.

SPEAKER_03

But again, can we kind of chalk that up to Oppenheimer, or did people really want to see Barbie?

SPEAKER_07

I think people really wanted to see Barbie.

SPEAKER_03

Josh, no, there's no fucking way.

SPEAKER_07

I don't believe it, bro. I don't but I don't believe it. I don't believe that I don't believe that Oppenheimer helped carry the weight and stuff, especially when I think Barbie like outdid it.

SPEAKER_03

Well, because obviously, who's watching Oppenheimer? Dudes? Guys? You might get you might get the one guy who was able to sucker his girl in to go watch it or something like that. Like, that's fine, but like, who's watching Barbie? Girls? That's why that's the whole point, though. That was the whole thing. Guys with their girlfriends, there's probably gonna be more guys with their girlfriends in a Barbie movie because they're gonna try to, you know, please the girl a little bit more and be like, all right, we'll watch what you want to watch than get her bored in an Oppenheimer movie. So exactly that that's the point.

SPEAKER_07

That was the whole thing. She just wasn't invested then.

SPEAKER_03

No she wasn't, she didn't know what the raw power of God looked like on earth. Like it doesn't know, it's not what happens, okay? So obviously it was gonna make a little bit more money and it was gonna do a little bit better, but we have to be honest that it had to be because of what basically the event that it was basically made out to be. And I mean, if they can catch lightning in a bottle twice, sure. But I don't think it's look at the end of the day, I think I agree with you. Don't make another one, leave it where it's at, and 50 million dollars is outrageous. Right. That's crazy. That's crazy. But let us know what you guys think. Are you hoping for a Barbie 2? Are you hoping that Margot Robbie's greed will fucking be quenched? This is like, I wonder if this is like what Sydney Prescott felt like, but like at a grander scale, because Margot Robbie's obviously better than her. But like, you know what I'm saying? Like, it just it is what it is. Moving on.

SPEAKER_07

Moving on.

SPEAKER_03

Let us know what you guys think. Last but not least, we have a trailer from Netflix Animals. All right, sorry, Ben Affleck, Carrie Washington, Steven Yu. I wanted to pull this one up, and this is probably gonna be the only trailer that we have in this back end today. And yes, it's Netflix, and this is only because Ben Affleck's last Netflix movie was dog shit. So we're doing this as a test study. We're doing this as a test study to see all movies on his Netflix movie, on his Netflix tenure will be dog shit. No, I'm not. Let's go. I don't know if or movie like the song. I don't know if you've heard of this movie.

SPEAKER_07

No, I've never heard of this movie.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. Ben Afflag, Kerry Washington, Stephen Yu. Let's get it.

SPEAKER_04

Cyrus?

SPEAKER_07

I don't think so. I I don't think so. I think the we would have had Cyrus right there.

SPEAKER_04

October 9th, what did we think?

SPEAKER_07

I I mean, I guess they're holding his kids for ransom or something like that.

SPEAKER_04

Seemed like it. Or his family.

SPEAKER_07

I mean, it could be cool. Could be cool. I I I I guess it's different to hear a Netflix trailer not split out the plot seven different times, so that's interesting.

SPEAKER_03

It's just a teaser, right?

SPEAKER_07

There's still time.

SPEAKER_03

We just wait for the next trailer, I guess. I don't know.

SPEAKER_07

I mean, uh yeah, I guess it looks fine for now.

SPEAKER_03

Directed by Ben Affleck. Directed by Ben Affleck.

SPEAKER_07

No Matt Damon.

SPEAKER_03

No Matt Damon. Unless he has like a little cameo or something.

SPEAKER_07

He's a coffee guy.

SPEAKER_03

He just gets hit by a car.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, but no. Could be interesting.

SPEAKER_03

Matt Damon's greatest cameo is in Deadpool 2. Hands down. Fattooed hillbilly in the back of the truck.

SPEAKER_07

Right, right, right.

SPEAKER_03

Um, but yeah. Uh looks good. I it's not you know, not exactly what I was expecting when I seen animals in the title, but Ben Affleck is a artist, and I'm down for it. Even though his last project was a pile of shit to me, I'm hoping this is better. That being said though, that'll be our last topic on this episode. Uh, Josh, I hope you check out this movie.
