The Loss Mothers
It is with an open heart that we introduce The Loss Mothers to you. This project will unfold over the coming months to encompass a series of podcasts and a photographic essay that bring together the stories and experiences of mothers who have loved, lost and grieved the death of their child.Women from all walks of life are being asked to tell their story, to share their experience of motherhood, and how the death of their child has changed their world. We will explore the stories of mothers, young and old, who have lost babies, children and adult children. We will delve into the uniqueness of each woman’s experience while coming to understand that the bonds of shared grief create universal threads that echo through time. The aim of this project is to bear witness, gain insight, bring light and honour stories that help us to understand the complexity and depth of a mother’s grief. With loveBec and Caitlin

This is the story of Amy and Jemma.Jemma is Amy and Matthews second child. Jemma was born unexpectedly premature at 27 weeks in the rural region of Gippsland. She was transferred to the Mercy in Melbourne, where after 8 days of life, she was released to the heavens.16 years on Amy shares with us the grief that never leaves but the grief that grows into life after loss, and the little Jem that sits inside her heart. Little Jem who has touched this family in such profound ways and shined her light over the Gippsland community. Listening to Amy will warm your soul as she openly shares the dark and the light, the pain and the beauty, the sorrow and the joy that is grief. If you would like to know more about The Little Jem Foundation and how you can help head to their Facebook pageLittle Jem Foundation | FacebookCredits:Host- Rebecca Gallagher & Caitlin EppsGuest- Amy Daly Follow The Loss Mothers JourneyInstagram @thelossmothersFacebook- facebook.com/thelossmothers
