The Loss Mothers
It is with an open heart that we introduce The Loss Mothers to you. This project will unfold over the coming months to encompass a series of podcasts and a photographic essay that bring together the stories and experiences of mothers who have loved, lost and grieved the death of their child.Women from all walks of life are being asked to tell their story, to share their experience of motherhood, and how the death of their child has changed their world. We will explore the stories of mothers, young and old, who have lost babies, children and adult children. We will delve into the uniqueness of each woman’s experience while coming to understand that the bonds of shared grief create universal threads that echo through time. The aim of this project is to bear witness, gain insight, bring light and honour stories that help us to understand the complexity and depth of a mother’s grief. With loveBec and Caitlin

This is the story of Tracy and Georgia. Today Tracy shares with us her youngest daughter Georgia, a beautiful soul, a spark of light, a loving, fun filled, compassionate and kind person with a huge heart warming smile. Georgia's big heart enveloped her family, friends and she had a special place in there for animals too- any human or animal to experience Georgia's love was a lucky being! Georgia had a full life and touched many people far and wide. Sadly her life ended shortly after a motor vehicle accident, with her boyfriend Josh, just before she turned 16. The circumstances surrounding the accident buried her family in another layer of grief. Tracy shares with us how the very essence of Georgia has aided and guided her through this journey of grief and life after the accident. Tracy also gives an insight into restorative justice and her experience in the Open Circle program. We hope a little of Georgia's light touches you all through Tracy. This is the story of Tracy and Georgia.Credits: Host- Rebecca Gallagher & Caitlin Epps Guest- Tracy LarsenFollow The Loss Mothers JourneyInstagram @thelossmothersFacebook- www.facebook.com/thelossmothersPlease remember to subscribe, rate and review... and share with those that would benefit from listening to these stories xoFor more information on Open Circle - RMIT Restorative Justice, visit the link belowOpen Circle | RMIT Centre for Innovative Justice (cij.org.au)
