Kylie Kelly [00:00:48]:
2 years, and the same is possible for you too.
Kylie Kelly [00:00:51]:
Are you ready to build your email list and start making more money in your online business? Let's head into today's episode.
Kylie Kelly [00:01:00]:
Hey, hey, welcome back to the Email Growth Show. I have to ask you a question. Have you ever stared at a blank email wondering how to write something that's actually going to convert? If you're nodding along, you're not alone. Writing sales emails can feel super daunting, especially when you're trying not to sound like a sleazy salesperson. But here's the thing, there are proven formulas that make it easier to craft emails that not only get opened, but that actually drive real results, that actually make us money. So in today's this episode, In episode, we're gonna get super specific, super tangible, and I'm gonna share 5 high-converting sales email formulas that you can start using today. These are my go-to formulas, whether I'm launching a new offer, nurturing my list, or handling objections during a sales launch. All right, maybe grab a pen and paper, but if you are ready to dive in, let's do it.
Kylie Kelly [00:01:49]:
So formula number 1 is the problem-solution formula. So this is the classic one that you would see everywhere. This one works because it immediately speaks to your audience's pain points. It normally can be broken down like this. Your subject line will highlight the problem your audience is facing. For example, for me, it might say, struggling to grow your email list? Because hey, a lot of my ideal clients have that problem. The opening of the email will validate their feelings and acknowledge the struggle. For example, you're not alone.
Kylie Kelly [00:02:16]:
Many business owners feel stuck when it comes to attracting the right audience. The body of the email will introduce your solution and explain how it solves their problem. And then the call to action makes it easy for them to take the next step. So as an example, if I was sending out a problem solution formula email. Maybe it was about the Email Growth Club. The subject line would say, struggling to grow your email list? I think that's a great subject line. The body would say, you're not alone. Many business owners feel stuck when it comes to attracting the right audience.
Kylie Kelly [00:02:44]:
That's why I created the Email Growth Club, an action-based membership designed to help you build an email list full of your ideal clients. Click here to learn more and become a member today. Super simple, but really powerful because it shows empathy and positions you as a solution to their problems. So that's formula number 1, the problem-solution formula. Number 2 is the storytelling formula. Now, humans are wired for stories. We tell stories all the time, right? We will tell a story to our kids before bed, to our best friend over a glass of wine. We will tell a story about an experience that we had to our husbands, to our business coaches.
Kylie Kelly [00:03:20]:
Like, we are wired for stories. That's why this formula is so effective. So instead of diving straight into a pitch about an offer or a product, draw your audience in with a relatable personal story that connects with emotions. So again, the breakdown would be something like the subject line might tease the story. For example, how I turned a launch flop into a $10,000 win. I mean, I'd read that email. The opening will share a challenge or a struggle that you faced. The body then explains the transformation and links to the product or service as a solution.
Kylie Kelly [00:03:53]:
And the call to action encourages readers to experience their own transformation. So as an example, If I was writing an email following this formula, my subject line would be, as I said, how I turned a launch flop into a $10,000 win. The body might be telling the story. Last year, when I was launching Summer Planning School, it was a total flop. I spent weeks creating the content. I sent emails to my list, but no one bought, and I almost gave up. But then I discovered something that changed everything. I built a high-converting email sequence.
Kylie Kelly [00:04:25]:
That shift and those emails that I sent led to a $10,000 launch the next time around. Are you ready to learn how I did it? Click here to get the exact framework that I used, right? Like it's a story. It's something that really happened. And please, we are being authentic, ethical business owners in the online space. I know sometimes I feel like they're few and far between, but we are all authentic and ethical. So we're going to tell stories that actually fucking happened. We're not going to make shit up, right? So you create a story around an experience that you had that links to that offer, that links to that transformation. Stories are memorable, they're relatable, and they inspire action because we all want to have that story of overcoming something, that story of perseverance, that story of experiencing those wins.
Kylie Kelly [00:05:11]:
So the storytelling formula for a sales email is really powerful. Now, formula number 3 is the objection handling formula. So this one is perfect for addressing the fears or doubts that might hold your audience back from buying. So again, how it works, the subject line will speak directly to their hesitation. So for example, 'If you think you're not ready, think again.' And then it goes into, 'Not sure if the offer is right for you? Let's talk about the top 3 concerns I hear.' Then you identify the common objections that your audience might have. You provide reassurance in the body by addressing and overcoming each objection. And then your call to action makes it easy for them to take action with confidence, knowing that you've just overcome and addressed the objections that they were thinking about. So the example email might be, again, the subject line, 'Think you're not ready? Think again.' I often don't put the offer title in there, so I wouldn't put, "Think you're not ready for the Email Growth Club? Think again." A, it becomes a bit too long, and B, this way without the offer name, it does create a little bit more curiosity.
Kylie Kelly [00:06:12]:
So, "Think you're not ready? Think again." And then let's use the Email Growth Club as the example. So I might say, "Not sure if the Email Growth Club is right for you? Let's talk about the top 3 concerns I hear. Number 1, I don't have time." And then I'd reassure them how it doesn't actually take much time, how it's created like a gym membership, you can pick it up and put it down. Whenever it suits you for the season of life that you're in. Number 2, I'm not ready. Then I would reassure them about who it's for and how they actually are more ready than they think. And then number 3, what if it doesn't work? Then I could reassure them about the guarantee, right? I have a 90-day money-back results guarantee. So if they don't get results in the first 90 days, I will refund them every cent that they've paid.
Kylie Kelly [00:06:51]:
So again, reassuring them about that objection. Then I would let them know that I've designed the Email Growth Club to address these concerns so you can see real results starting now. Call to action, click here to learn more. This type of formula builds trust by showing your audience that you understand what they're concerned about and you've already solved it for them. You've already thought about it and made sure that they're not gonna have a negative experience, right? And I think sometimes, especially in the online space, there have been so many people that have been burnt by offers before because sometimes what is on the sales page is not what you get, right? Which I hate to say, but it is the God honest truth. So these kinds of emails are beautiful to be able to make sure that you are answering the objections that they're having having, the doubts that they have, the thoughts that they're thinking, and letting them know that you've thought about it and you've created it in a way that they're going to be looked after builds a lot of trust. All right, so we have two more left. So formula number 4 is the social proof formula.
Kylie Kelly [00:07:45]:
So we know people trust other people, right? That's the beauty of social proof. So this formula leverages testimonials, case studies, or customer success stories to build credibility and inspire confidence. So if you are not collecting social proof for your offers right now, that is the first thing I want you to change starting today. Do up a quick form, use Google Forms, use Airtable, use whatever you want, but like start collecting social proof. If you have a community group, post a question in there. Hey, I want to start adding social proof onto my sales pages. Can you guys write your god honest opinions about the Email Growth Club in here? Things like that. So you can get screenshots.
Kylie Kelly [00:08:23]:
It doesn't have to be hard, but start collecting social proof now. So when you go to send the sales email that is a social proof formula, you have social proof to draw from. So the email, the structure of the email, the subject line, you'll be highlighting a result. For example, how Sarah got 500 new subscribers in 30 days, right? That would make me open the email. Then we share the relatable customer story and we break down the steps that they took and then we link it to the offer. The call to action, of course, is to invite readers to achieve a similar result by taking action. So as an example, as I said, the subject line, how Sarah got 500 new subscribers in 30 days. So the email body might read something like, when Sarah joined the Email Growth Club, she was feeling really stuck.
Kylie Kelly [00:09:03]:
Her email list wasn't growing and she was overwhelmed with what to do next. But after just 30 days together, she added 500 new subscribers and landed 2 clients. Here's how she did it with what I teach in the Email Growth Club. Then you would give a little bit more context. Ready to see results like Sarah's? Click here to get started. This formula works really well because it shows proof that your offer delivers real tangible results. Now if you have a new offer and you haven't got social proof yet, you still can use this formula if you've experienced the win yourself. So often we'll experience something in business and then we'll create an offer from the experience that we've had, right? So for me, I started hosting virtual events.
Kylie Kelly [00:09:42]:
So in 2022, I hosted 2 summits that grew my email list from like 0 to 1,200 within a couple of months. So then I created Summit Planning School on the back of that, showing the process of how I did that. And how I did in a way that felt good for me, and I created a framework from it, right? So even in that first launch of Summit Planning School, when I didn't have any social proof, I could use my own experience as the evidence that it works, right? That the process works. So don't discount this. If you haven't got social proof yet, can you use your own experience in a story like this to still create that social proof formula email? And then the last formula I wanted to share with you is the scarcity urgency formula. This one's designed obviously to create a sense of FOMO, the fear of missing out, which can be a really powerful motivator. I wanna say, please only do this authentically. Please don't make shit up.
Kylie Kelly [00:10:32]:
Please don't put countdown timers on things that don't really have a countdown. I want you to be beautiful business owner that I know you are with so much integrity, and we're gonna do this in a way that feels good for us, but also feels good for our customers as well. When we're sending out an email with some scarcity, with some urgency, this is the structure that we generally follow. The subject line creates the urgency, so it might be, 'Only 3 spots left. Don't miss out.' Then the email goes on to highlight why timing is critical and why they'll miss out if they don't act. So we want to emphasize the benefits of taking action now, and then we finish it off with a clear time-sensitive call to action. So let's say I had a couple of Voxer intensives that I was trying to sell, right? Maybe I only had spot for the 3. So the subject line of my email would be 'Only 3 spots left.
Kylie Kelly [00:11:18]:
Don't miss out.' Then I would say something along the lines of 'Time is running out. I only have 3 spots remaining for my Voxer intensives, and I don't want you to miss out on the chance to grab them at $97 before I increase the price. This is your opportunity to join me for a day in Voxer where we can brainstorm your lead magnet and the next steps to grow your email list fast without spending all your time on social media. Don't wait, secure your spot now before it's gone. So this formula works really well because it taps into the psychological principle of scarcity and it motivates your audience to act quickly, to take action. Again, only do this if it's true. If you act shady and do something that's not true when you are creating urgency or scarcity, it's going to come back and bite you in the ass. If we do this and it's not honest and people find out, it's going to really damage your business and your reputation.
Kylie Kelly [00:12:05]:
So please only do this when there is honest scarcity or urgency around your offer or around the launch, right? However, it is very, very powerful. So there you have it, 5 high-converting sales email formulas you can start using today. So to recap, Formula 1, The Problem Solution Formula. Formula 2, the Storytelling Formula. Formula 3, the Objection Handling Formula. Formula 4, the Social Proof Formula. And Formula 5 was the Scarcity Urgency Formula. So whether you're launching a new offer, nurturing your list, or overcoming objections, these formulas give you a framework to write emails that drive results.
Kylie Kelly [00:12:46]:
