Holiday food debates get loud because they’re never really about food. They’re about memory, family, region, and that one dish you judge everyone on. We put all of that energy into a traditional holiday food bracket, and we come in with one big rule: turkey sits this one out. It already has a whole holiday and we’re here to fight over what actually makes the plate legendary.
We seed the bracket with the classics and let the arguments fly: mashed potatoes versus cranberry sauce, carrots versus pumpkin pie, sweet potato casserole versus deviled eggs, Brussels sprouts getting sacrificed to mac and cheese, and stuffing versus anything that dares stand in its way. Along the road we get into what makes a “real” holiday side dish, why pumpkin spice might be the most overrated seasonal trend, and how dishes like potato salad and mac and cheese change meaning depending on where you grew up.
The second half turns into pure chaos in the best way, with a full-on crock pot debate, a passionate defense of stuffing and dressing as the most iconic Thanksgiving food, and a surprisingly heartfelt moment about a grandmother’s potato salad. After all the upsets and nostalgia, we land on a champion that feels inevitable and still worth arguing about. Cold Open And Host Banter
SPEAKER_03Baby, we ain't got no place to go.
SPEAKER_00Did you record any of that? Yeah, it's all recorded. Play that shit. Play that shit back. It's time for random brackets.
unknownHere.
SPEAKER_02Hey everybody. Welcome back to Random Brackets. It's John. Eric. This is your boy Wood. Alright. We guys, hey, just FYI, man. We really appreciate everybody who's listened so far. We really appreciate the solid feedback. Didn't think anybody would listen, and so to all two of you that are.
SPEAKER_00We really appreciate it. It's just Wood playing on repeat at home. Yeah, I really am. I really am.
SPEAKER_02Gotta get those downloads up. Actually subscribe for myself. No, but seriously, uh to all our friends and family, thanks guys for taking the time to listen to us. And uh let's jump into this.
Holiday Food Bracket And No Turkey
SPEAKER_02Today we are gonna do traditional holiday food. We realize we're a little late for Thanksgiving, but we're just in time for Christmas. And a lot of times growing up, you know, Christmas served as that second Thanksgiving meal. So we served, so instead of just doing uh one Thanksgiving bracket, we've I guess we're just gonna go ahead, traditional holiday food is what we're gonna call it. So coming in, now I will say this, and a little caveat to it. We did not have turkey on this list. Um when I was making this list, I did not feel as though his turkey is the main star. It is the it has literally an entire holiday for it. And uh I didn't think that the almost national bird of this country, if that Ben Franklin had his way, should have to sit here and defend itself. So um Turkey's not gonna be on this list because it, you know, honestly, it's it's it's earned a right not to.
SPEAKER_03Okay, it's it lost once. It can it can win.
SPEAKER_02It lost once to the bald eagle, and it doesn't, so it doesn't need to lose again. So Turkey is off by itself. Uh Turkey is not on this list. Alright, so here we go. Number we're coming in at number one, mashed potatoes, gonna face number sixteen cranberry sauce, number twelve, carrots. Uh it's gonna be versus number five pumpkin pie. Number eight, sweet potato casserole versus number nine, deviled eggs, number 13, Brussels sprouts coming in at a ranked number four mac and cheese. Number six, broccoli casserole versus a ranked eleven stuffing slash dressing. We got ham coming in at number three. Um going against number fourteen potato salad. Number uh, we got a seventh ranked green casserole going against a 10th ranked corn pudding, and then a 15th apple pie going up against a number two ranked bread and rolls. I will say this, I'm sorry, I'm a little congested right now. So if you hear me uh taking a deep breath, walking away from the mic, or stepping a step back from the mic and taking a breath in real quick, that's because I'm I'm a little congested, but bear with me, we're gonna get through this. Real quick.
SPEAKER_06What's up, uh, did you just say ham versus potato salad?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, number three, ham versus fourteen potato salad. We've already got some really strong opinions going into today. So the pre the pre-show meeting was a little heated, so hopefully we we can save a little bit for the act for the actual recording. Alright, so we're gonna go ahead and start this off as always, uh, with the one seed and the
Mashed Potatoes Win; Pie Takes Fire
SPEAKER_0216 seed. We got one seed mashed potatoes versus number 16 cranberry sauce. Does anybody want to start us off?
SPEAKER_03Yes, what kind of cranberry sauce? Um, is it canned or are you making it for yourself?
SPEAKER_02So here's the thing, though. It's all open to interpretation, right? So I'm gonna I'm gonna say this, right? So as so everyone at home knows we are I'm gonna say this. We are three well-trained chefs. People, all of us know what we're doing around the kitchen. We all have a base level of respect for each other's cooking, correct? Yes, we do. Alright.
SPEAKER_00So we are going to if it's not deep covered in cheddar cheese, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_03You act like that's wrong. If that's wrong, I don't want to be right.
SPEAKER_02Uh uh, all jokes aside, uh the cranberry, anything on here can be what your family eats, how you guys perceive it. Look, honestly, honestly, if it was cream if it was homemade cranberry sauce, does it make it better? No, because no one knows.
SPEAKER_03No one wants your orange-infused cranberry sauce, Mark. Go home. Peaches infused sauce.
SPEAKER_02I'm not gonna lie, I make I make homemade cranberry sauce. And that's just because Ruthie likes it.
SPEAKER_03So you pretentious. You can hear it in his voice when he says I hate cranberry sauce.
SPEAKER_06I bet you do it with craisins.
SPEAKER_02I don't do it. How do you make it with craisins? The cranberries don't pop with crazy, they're already dried out. How do you do it what? That makes no sense. Now you're just being ridiculous. Now you're now you're just being ridiculous. Okay, so we're all just gonna shit on cranberry sauce. Like, obviously. Definitely like.
SPEAKER_03What do we gotta say about mashed potatoes? Oh, mashed potatoes. They're fantastic.
SPEAKER_06They're delicious, no, nice, creamy, chunky. Yeah. Hand stir.
SPEAKER_02Hand stir. Hand mash.
SPEAKER_06Hand mash. What? For yourself? I don't know what to do. Honestly, you know what I mean.
SPEAKER_02You know what I love about mashed potatoes? I'd hope. I'd hope the boiling water in the powdered potatoes. I like that enough cream and butter to really the potatoes are just like barely holding cream and butter together, where it's just like silky, smooth, delicious. Oh, you know what I mean? Maybe a little maybe throw a little gar throw a couple uh cloves of garlic in while it's boiling. Rusted garlic.
SPEAKER_06A little rusted. I'll do a little crush. Roasted, not that.
SPEAKER_02You roast the garlic beforehand.
SPEAKER_03And look, you can always jazz it up with the bacon and cheese sour cream. Jazz it up?
SPEAKER_02You know what? Mash potatoes, you can dress it up. You can do anything you want. You can leave it alone. You can put time Bro, she looks she looks good, dolled up. She looks good getting out of bed. You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_07Like that is just love it.
SPEAKER_02Alright, so we're just gonna go mash potatoes. Yeah, that was a pretty easy one. Alright, we got number 12 carrots versus number five pumpkin pie. Um what you mean by carrots? Carrots, like glazed carrots, roasted carrots.
SPEAKER_06Okay, okay, okay.
SPEAKER_02Anybody wanna anybody want to start off on this one?
SPEAKER_03Well, we both wear glasses, so we didn't eat enough carrots. Our eyesight is pretty bad. So True.
SPEAKER_02You know what? I don't like carrots when I was a kid.
SPEAKER_06No, um from I really didn't like carrots. I see how people make carrots. Uh they just use honey, a little bit of butter, a little brown sugar. Maybe, maybe some little cinnamon. Yeah. Maybe a little cinnamon. Maybe a little cinnamon. It's per cinnamon. It's perfect. Perfect. It tastes delicious. It does. But um Yeah, I'm not going with carrots from I just can't do it. Sounds delicious, it tastes delicious. It's like making a carrot pie or a carrot cake. I'm not doing that.
SPEAKER_03So you're being basic and going with the pumpkin?
SPEAKER_06I'm I don't even like pumpkin, but it tastes like. It tastes close to close to sweet potato. It really does. I mean, it's used the same ingredients. Same thing. It used the same ingredients. Same thing.
SPEAKER_02You can't taste the difference. You cannot.
SPEAKER_03No, there's that, there's definitely. You know what?
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna, you know what? I'm gonna I'm gonna go in here and I'm gonna say something controversial. And it shouldn't be that controversial.
SPEAKER_03We're gonna get canceled.
SPEAKER_02We're gonna get canceled. Come when I say this. Pumpkin pie and sweet potato pie are the same damn thing. You cannot taste the difference. And I'm gonna tell you this right now. You you put both of them in front of you, you're not tasting the difference. And they're both seasoned the same way. And you close your eyes, you're not, you're tasting it, you're tasting the same thing.
SPEAKER_06Now we gotta close our eyes now.
SPEAKER_02Because I'm saying you can't do a blind taste test. You do a blind taste test with sweet potato pie and pumpkin pie, you can't taste the difference. It's flavor the same. Not only that, but pumpkin pie from September 1st, from September 1st to December to November 30th, we are inundated with pumpkin spice and pumpkin everywhere. It's overrated. It's not a good, it's not good food, right? And people don't even like pumpkin. They like the cinnamon and the nutmeg and the cloves and all that stuff that go with it. They don't even like pumpkin. So which one are you going with? I'm going with carrots. I like carrots. I'm going with the 12th. I'm going with the upset. I like carrots. Carrots are good for your eyesight. Like you said, I wanted to have enough.
SPEAKER_06Now love carrots. I never ever seen it. If you give me a plate of carrots. No, no, this is what I'm saying. I've never seen you. You've always been on, like, you know, you know, on your white side. You know what I'm saying? It took me what, two or three minutes to talk about it. Did not take long.
SPEAKER_02If anybody at home is listening, if anybody says uh how long did that take, that's usually how long in the podcast it takes for uh for Wood to bring up race into any of the conversations. Because that took us all about four and a half minutes.
SPEAKER_06Just because you're arguing against pocket spice, and you know a lot of white people love pocket spice.
SPEAKER_01So what are you going with? What are you going with? But you know, hold on, what's your point? What's your point?
SPEAKER_06You arguing against it. I never I it's I was just shocking that you actually are arguing against that.
SPEAKER_03I mean, you do look pretty basic. You're like one IP away from being the most basic person I know.
SPEAKER_06You only have a little discoloration to you.
SPEAKER_02Guys, it's December. I haven't been out. I haven't been out. I've been sick this week. I've been sick this week. I haven't been out in the sun.
SPEAKER_01You know, that's all I'm saying. Starting to look delicious.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna go with kids. Listen, carrots are delicious, right? Cooked correctly. Cooked correctly, they are a fantastic side dish. They can both be sweet and savory. And um I think there are better desserts to finish your Thanksgiving meal with. Dessert? Yeah, I'm talking about pumpkin pies. Oh, right? That they bring that uh one, they're overplayed, they're overrated and redundant. And um pumpkin pie can be easily be taken up by something else. And uh yeah, carrots are they add color, they add a little bit of orange color to your plate. So they add a little color, uh maybe potential little spice, a little sweet, a little savory. They can they're versatile vegetables and they're a great side.
SPEAKER_06Depends on your your variation of carrots. No, no, it just depends on your variation of seasoning, how you do it. Exactly.
SPEAKER_02I think they're versatile enough. I don't think pumpkin pie is. And uh pumpkin pie can be savory. It's overrated. And uh final quote, yeah, I'm gonna go with carrots.
SPEAKER_03What are you going with? What I want to know.
SPEAKER_06To be honest, I'm not gonna lie to you, they're both the same thing to me.
SPEAKER_03They're both the same to you. They're both the same thing.
SPEAKER_06Carrot and pumpkin, just carrot and pumpkin is actually the same to me right now. The way you just described it and how I'm actually thinking about it, they both can be used as a dessert. As a dessert. No. Yes. No.
SPEAKER_02If you hand me a plate of carrots as dessert, I am that it's not it's not pumpkin that we're talking about. We're talking about pumpkin pie. Who is gonna eat savory pumpkin pie?
SPEAKER_06You still can eat savory pumpkin pie. Get out of here.
SPEAKER_02No one's gonna be able to do that. Now you're just trying to see. Now you were just trying. You can you were just trying to make sure the indefensible doesn't mean you shouldn't. You're trying to defend the indefensible.
SPEAKER_06Okay. Um forget it. Forget it. What are you going with? What are you going with?
SPEAKER_03What's going with pumpkin? I want to go with pumpkin.
SPEAKER_06I was just going with pumpkin. Forget that. I'm going with pumpkin.
SPEAKER_02Alright, here we
Deviled Eggs Rule; Stuffing Gets Defended
SPEAKER_02go. Number eight versus number nine. Again, the way we do our the method, this very scientific method that we do. Scientifically. That way we get these rankings. That, you know, that sweet potato casserole coming at number eight versus the number nine deviled eggs. Again, solid. Solid eight and nine. I say it every time, but every day it seems to be correct. It's a great pairing. We are at eight and nine right now? We're at number eight and nine, yeah. Casserole, not pie. Sweet potato casserole. Okay. By the way, sweet potato casserole could take the place of pumpkin pie, and you don't need pumpkin pie if you have sweet potato casserole. Devil eggs.
SPEAKER_03So why would you have it as a dessert? Sweet potato casserole is already on your own. That's a savory.
SPEAKER_02No, it's not savory, though. It's not savory. No, it's sweet. It's dinner, it's dinner dessert.
SPEAKER_03I never had a sweet potato casserole. I'm sorry. You know when you're a kid and you get like those frozen meals.
SPEAKER_06I mean it's delicious, bro. So is is that the one you put like slivered almonds on top of? No, no, no.
SPEAKER_02Well, you put marshmallows. No, you get the marshmallows.
SPEAKER_06Oh, not good.
SPEAKER_02No, no, no. You ever take hey, you ever take sweet potatoes? You ever make a whole bake bake yourself a sweet potato? Yeah. What do you put on it?
SPEAKER_06Brown sugar and butter.
SPEAKER_02Brown sugar and butter. Alright, now imagine you take out all the inners of a sweet potato and you put brown sugar and butter on it. Mix it all up. Like mashed potatoes, like sweet mashed potatoes, right? And then you put marshmallows on top of it.
SPEAKER_03Wait, do you actually mash yours? Do you mash yours for the sweet potato casserole? Yeah, it's just sweet potatoes. It's honestly it's mashed. I don't mash it. I I take like the the potatoes and just mix them up with everything in there and put that in the casserole dish and bake that. Oh. So you get big chunks of potatoes.
SPEAKER_02It's lumpy, smooth, mashed potatoes.
SPEAKER_06If it's a side, then I'm making a savory. So here's my thing. But I wouldn't make it a savory.
SPEAKER_02I railed against pumpkin pie. Have you but you've never had sweet potato casserole? Why would you make a savory?
SPEAKER_06I would make it savory though.
SPEAKER_02No, you wouldn't. Because it's a side, right? See, now I feel like we need to try sweet potato casserole. But it's a side, right? Not a dessert. Sweet potato casserole tastes like pumpkin pie.
SPEAKER_03You're coming to my house for cash.
SPEAKER_06Is it a dessert or is it a side? It's a sweet side.
SPEAKER_02Thank you. It's a sweet side.
SPEAKER_06So I'll make it sweet and savory.
SPEAKER_02No, you won't. No, you won't. Why wouldn't you? No, you won't. Because you don't eat sweet potatoes savory.
SPEAKER_06Why wouldn't you?
SPEAKER_02Have you tried it? It's not good, bro. How you tried it? Have you had sweet potato cows? What have you tried? I got a question. What does sweet potato pie taste like? It's sweet. Does it taste it's sweet? Yeah. Does it taste like pump pie? Same texture as pumpkin pie?
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_03So now he's just been a dick.
SPEAKER_06Now he's just being difficult to do. But no, seriously though. So you wouldn't actually make that a savory. No. A savory and sweet. No. Just like your carrots.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. No, carrots are more versatile than sweet potato casserole. Here's my vote, though. I'm going deviled eggs, though. Nine times out of ten.
SPEAKER_03Deviled eggs. I like how we just spent like four minutes just defending sweet potato casserole.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but I'm definitely going deviled eggs. And I'm going deviled eggs. Honestly, deviled eggs a double. As much as I said this is a great eight nine seed. This is a good one.
SPEAKER_03Deviled eggs is a great appetizer. I'm telling you right now. You don't even have to have it on your plate for dinner.
SPEAKER_02It's a great appetizer, great dinner. Great snack. Are you getting the eggs? Honestly, and best part about deviled eggs is they're good year-round.
SPEAKER_06They are never been like they are.
SPEAKER_02Dude, it is great for every holiday. Thanksgiving, Christmas, 4th of July, Labor Day, Memorial Day. But what disturbs you is bringing the deviled eggs every time? That's like action.
SPEAKER_03Who's making devil's eyes? What disturbs you about deviled eggs, though? What? Is that it'll sit on the counter for a few hours and you know that's like, hey, it's been out here for like six hours. I'm gonna finish the last two.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I don't care about the eyes.
SPEAKER_03It's kind of questionable.
SPEAKER_02No, it's not. Can I tell you why it's not? Because of the mayo? Mayo's actually self-stable, you're good.
SPEAKER_06But I'm not I'm not eating the same. But the egg itself, the egg. I'm not fine. You're fine. No, you're fine. You're fine. You're fine.
SPEAKER_03I'm still going with double eggs. Yeah, definitely going with double eggs. Yeah. But I'm not eating it during the summer. Well, it's it's too good enough to be a good thing.
SPEAKER_02So you know like when potato salad and stuff, people are like, oh, you got sick, and then everybody's like it's a mayonnaise. You know what it is, right? But I still can't. It's actually the onions. Yeah. Onions are onions are the most likely culprit to get you sick, not the uh because they onions uh attract bacteria. But I'm not eating hot potato salad. Oh, why would you eat hot potato salad? No, because it's because if they got onions in it, onions and stuff are uh something in the onion family in it, like all those, I forgot the name of the potato salad is supposed to be hot, it's not bad.
SPEAKER_03Like a hot potato salad?
SPEAKER_06Are you doing are you doing are you like a German, like a German potato salad? Yeah. You want to base off like a vinegar base? Yeah, like a German potato salad. Yeah, yeah. That's really good. Yeah, I'm with that one.
SPEAKER_02Okay, yeah. Okay, well, we're not there yet. Right now we're talking about what are you going with?
SPEAKER_06Oh, I'm going with double eggs. I already said that. Yeah. Alright.
SPEAKER_02So that's that's our first unanimous one. Yeah. 100%. All right, here we go. Number 13 Brussels sprouts versus number four mac and cheese. Mac and cheese. Yeah, that's not. I mean, that's not. I don't even eat mac and cheese.
SPEAKER_07Hold on.
SPEAKER_02Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Come on. Come on. I'm only going with mac and cheese so easily, but if Brussels sprouts were going against. Yeah, there's nothing wrong with this. I choose Brussels sprouts.
SPEAKER_06I would say brussels sprouts are delicious, though. If you did, if you said green bean casserole, I choose brussels. Brussels are brussels spray.
SPEAKER_03Brussels sprouts are bitter. But bitter. Sorry, bitter.
SPEAKER_02My thing, my only problem with Brussels sprouts is if you don't have someone who knows how to cook Brussels sprouts, that's true. No, that's true. Exactly. They are easy to mess up. They are not a foolproof vegetable. I can understand that. It's not. It's not. And they have to be crispy. It has to be fresh. It has to be hot. And the labor. And it does take a lot. The labor, bro. It does take a lot. Shout out, shout out to Zaits. Megas kind of cases.
SPEAKER_00I hate Brussels sprouts. I don't know if anybody's heard cases. I don't know if anybody, I don't know if you guys heard the panic, all our voices.
SPEAKER_02That is, uh, that is comes from years of shopping cases of Brussels sprouts.
SPEAKER_03Brussels sprouts halved. He could buy it. He'd buy it. I know he orders from Cisco. He could buy it. Hey, hey, hey.
SPEAKER_06Don't talk about my chef like that. Watch your mouth.
SPEAKER_03Watch your mouth. Has he hit a deer yet?
SPEAKER_06Watch your mouth. Okay. Watch your mouth.
SPEAKER_02I think he listens to these. He does. He does. He listens to these. I want you Brian Zaits. That is Eric asking if you had hit a deer, not John Elliott. That is Eric. What about Chef?
SPEAKER_03He's going to hit his brother. Come on, Papa Bear. Get those half brussels sprouts for your proof, man. Come on, Papa Bear. Don't let them suffer.
SPEAKER_02Sorry about that, Zays. Alright, here we go. Number six broccoli casserole versus number 11 stuffing class dressing.
SPEAKER_06Broccoli casserole.
SPEAKER_02Broccoli casserole. That is delicious. You guys are out of your mind. That is delicious. You guys are out of your mind.
SPEAKER_06Bro, not everybody knows how to make stuffing.
SPEAKER_02Out of your mind. Stovetop stuffing? Stovetop. Cornbread. Regular. It doesn't matter how it comes. What? It is delicious. Hold on. Is it homemade, store bot? Broccoli candles. Grandma made, aunt made, you made, your cousin made, anybody. Doesn't matter. Is it stuffing turkey? It doesn't matter stuffing in four.
SPEAKER_06Yes, it does. What? If Eric Weiss make it, it definitely. Bro, I'm not eating it, bro. Sorry.
SPEAKER_03She'll follow the directions on the stovetop box.
SPEAKER_02Foolproof, man. I am not going to hit on broccoli casserole. Broccoli casserole is good. Alright. I'm not going to take anything away from it. It's cheesy. I do like the colour. Broccoli. Right? Sometimes there's rice and it's creamy. Right? It's fantastic. It's even better the day left over as leftovers. The best leftover, though. And I'm sorry, but this might be, this should be a metric when determining holiday foods. The best leftover food. Without a doubt. The thing with the most flavors, the most flavors going into it, sometimes the most ingredients on anything on this list that are come together. The best leftover food on this menu is stuffing and or dressing. However, you have whatever your family calls it. The flavors incorporate the next day. It's delicious. There is sage. There is sage. There is sausage. There is apples, mushrooms, bread, cornbread. However, you make it stovetop does it great. Stuffing is the best leftover food. For you guys not to even consider the fact. The only reason I'm saying for you even not to consider the fact that it's it's one of those things that you can't have a holiday meal without it. Not only that, too, there is yeah, look, there is no holiday meal without stuffing.
SPEAKER_03We don't have it when when I host. I don't make it.
SPEAKER_02Have you ever seen a picture of a Thanksgiving? And I'm gonna disregard that comment. That's dumb. That's dumb. I don't care about your personal family's preference. That's dumb. Have you ever seen a picture of Thanksgiving without stuffing in it? No. Not once. Have you ever seen pictures without broccoli with broccoli casserole in it? Yes. Yes. Alright. You it is it is stuffing is eaten only, literally, stuffing is eaten maybe twice a year, maybe, in most households. Most households it's once a year. And that's on Thanksgiving. And we're saying, what is the best traditional holiday food? It is so good that we save it for once a year. Because it's labor intensive. When it's made right, it's labor intensive. You can add apples, you can add oysters, you can add sausage, you can add all the rosemary, you can add thyme, you can cornbread. You can do it a million different ways. And there is so much nostalgia built up with it, and so much flavor. Stuffing.
SPEAKER_03Stuffing.
SPEAKER_02Stuffing.
SPEAKER_06Stuffing. Stuffing's better than. Oh, let's put it like this. Yeah, go ahead. My main argument. Literally, my main argument is I'll say one thing. And it might it proves your point, but it also actually proves mine. When you bring stuff into the house, it doesn't matter who brings it, right? That's what you say. It doesn't matter who brings it. It does matter who brings it. Because anybody will ask who makes this stuffing. If the person that they know that made that stuffing, they're not going to eat that stuffing. Because that person knows they can't cook that dumb.
SPEAKER_03That is true. That's the thing. It's three things the risk on the broccoli casserole on whoever made that than I am on the risk of the stuffing. That's how important stuffing is. It's three things. I said I'm your point. That's how important stuff is what I say. Yeah, but it's who what am I picking?
SPEAKER_02So it's not important stuffing is to the holiday, is that you care who fixes it. It's three things. That is how good stuffing is. Because honestly, you don't give a you don't give half a rat's ass, right? If there's a dish in there that's not so good, I broccoli casserole, but you care if that stuffing is.
SPEAKER_06Because that broccoli casserole is still gonna be good.
SPEAKER_02Not necessarily. You don't care if it's bad. You're not gonna like it.
SPEAKER_03You do care if it's the passion, the passion that's gonna sway me. And I'll go with the stuffing.
SPEAKER_00That's what I'm talking about. Seven for the win? Let's go. Let's move on. Let's move on.
SPEAKER_06There's three things on this list. What? Literally, if your ex, who made it? Who made it? Mac and cheese. Mac and cheese. Potato salad. Potato salad. Stuff. Yep. So I understand I already lost. Okay. I don't know your answer. You're already answered.
SPEAKER_00Alright, here we go.
Ham Loses; Bread Beats Apple Pie
SPEAKER_02Number three ham versus number fourteen potato salad. We're going back to the potato salad. Ham. Ham. I need you to defend potato salad. And I know it's your favorite. Potato salad is a picnic item. It's the only reason.
SPEAKER_06No, it's not a picnic food. It is not a Thanksgiving food. It's not Thanksgiving food. It's not Thanksgiving food. Every black household has potato salads. Why you gotta say it like that? Because this is why y'all are saying it's a picnic food. It's a picnic food. That's what I'm saying. I had this conversation.
SPEAKER_02It's like wearing white after Labor Day. You don't have potato salad after Labor Day, bro. Yes, you do.
SPEAKER_03No, when I think potato salad, I'm thinking ribs, fireworks, apple pie. Because y'all don't know how to make it.
SPEAKER_04What?
SPEAKER_03I said what I said. Wow. You know what? I said at the top of this, I definitely do not put crains in my potato salad.
SPEAKER_02No, who puts crazy? We said at the top of this episode that we were all going to conduct ourselves in a manner in which we had a base level of respect for each other. Understand that? And you're then gonna come out of our ability to make potato salad.
SPEAKER_06Understand that. When you don't actually think about just who actually eats the potato salad, do you actually eat the potato salad when you at the potato salad? It's delicious. So you don't have it for Thanksgiving East. It's delicious.
SPEAKER_03So we don't have it for Christmas? No. No. Because I already have a holiday food. I already have two potato dishes.
SPEAKER_04I have the sweet potato and the mashed potatoes. I don't need another potato dish. You just said you have it at Fourth of July or a cookout. Oh, you know what? It's a holiday food.
SPEAKER_02It is not a winter holiday food.
SPEAKER_03It is. It's a traditional holiday food.
SPEAKER_02It's just traditional holiday food. That is true. What are you talking about? Okay.
SPEAKER_03Check and mate on your logic.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, he just got us on a technicality there, didn't he? He did.
SPEAKER_06He did. But I still lost. Yeah, yeah. That's one hard one. I'm gonna do that. That's a hard one. Yeah, that's one hard one. Listen, I'm not gonna lie.
SPEAKER_02Here I go for a second. I will. I enjoyed the past. I'm gonna say this right here, right? Ham is fantastic. I love ham.
unknownRight?
SPEAKER_06Black horse ham.
SPEAKER_03I don't like honey baked.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely.
SPEAKER_03But not everybody eats ham.
SPEAKER_02One, it's a it's pork. Not everyone eats pork. Um two, you know, it's one of those things where if I'm given the choice between ham and turkey and there's protein there, I'm I'm taking the turkey. I know I'm weird in that. A lot of people prefer ham. But to be honest, though, I'm a big turkey guy. Like, and and even when it comes to making sandwiches, right? If we're if I got deli ham or deli turkey, I'm taking deli turkey. I'm not eating.
SPEAKER_03Are you? Mm-hmm. Black nice black forest ham?
SPEAKER_02I'm not listening don't get me wrong.
SPEAKER_03I love it.
SPEAKER_02It's good, it's good. Right? If I've got a club sandwich, I got turkey and ham. If I had a choice, if I didn't if I didn't have to choose, I had both. Great. But if I gotta choose one turkey nine times out of ten, ham, ham is always like, uh ham's always if it's there.
SPEAKER_06Because the only thing you're gonna do is with a honey baked ham, pineapple on top.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, but how many more sandwiches can you get from the ham?
SPEAKER_06I'm not gonna find it with you. If you eat a potato salad, the potato salad would be gone right before the before they eat a ham.
SPEAKER_01I'm gonna listen, I'm gonna I'm gonna switch my vote, I'm gonna go potato salad. Wow. I'm gonna go potato salad. Wow. I'm gonna switch it down. Wow.
SPEAKER_06Potato salad would be gone.
SPEAKER_04I'm gonna go potato salad. That's fine. And people get mad over there.
SPEAKER_02That's fine. Hey, by the way, that's two upsets in a row. Oh yeah? That's two upsets in a row. Nice. You know what? Sometimes our very our very uh scientific method. Scientifically, scientifically. It uh doesn't work sometimes. Sometimes it is what it is. All right, number uh here we go. Number seven, green bean casserole versus number ten, corn pudding.
SPEAKER_03I gotta go with corn pudding.
SPEAKER_02Are you out of your mind? Green bean casting. It's corn.
SPEAKER_03It's a big lump of knob. Okay.
SPEAKER_02Well on the well on the two-month-old TikTok reference. Nice going, boomer.
SPEAKER_06I'm going with uh green bee casserole.
SPEAKER_02Get off my lawn. I'm going green casserole. There's this.
SPEAKER_06I don't think there's a wrong choice.
SPEAKER_02What's understood doesn't have to be explained. Yeah, it really is. I don't think there's a wrong choice here. There's not. Honestly, it's not.
SPEAKER_06You say a cornbread stovetop. Black iron skillet. All right, here we go.
SPEAKER_02We got a good we got a good matchup next one. Alright, number 15, apple pie versus number two, the bread slash rolls. Bread slash rolls. Because I do biscuits. I made biscuits. I made biscuits this year. Yeah, I think. I made buttermilk biscuits this year for Thanksgiving. Honestly, fantastic. I don't even do fruit and bread. It makes a better sandwich.
SPEAKER_03It makes a better sandwich.
SPEAKER_02Honestly, too. It sops it up better. You know who makes it really good? You may have always made a great biscuit. What? Aaron. Aaron. Yeah. RIP Aaron. But he's not dead. It's just what we say to people when they're known out of acidity.
SPEAKER_06Understand apple pie is a traditional thing, though. Apple pie is very traditional. You cannot. Apple pie, cherry pie did. That's something that you cannot waver from.
SPEAKER_03See, but I don't like cooked apples. So I won't pick it.
SPEAKER_01Honestly, I can for the for the texture of cooked apples is not fine.
SPEAKER_02I'm a big cake guy. I'm a pie, so I can't.
SPEAKER_06I can't lie, for the for the mass, for the mask.
SPEAKER_03You are a big cake guy.
SPEAKER_06For the massive. Um I'm gonna have to go with uh apple pie. You're gonna go with apple pie? I'm gonna go with apple pie. If you don't like I I know what apple pie. You know what?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, because people are listening to this going, are you out of your mind? They're screaming at us right now.
SPEAKER_06They definitely are. They are definitely screaming at us, definitely screaming at us. So I'm gonna definitely just go for apple pie. You can't test.
SPEAKER_03You're gonna undermine your whole credibility throughout these entire podcasts with the cinnamon.
SPEAKER_01I am gonna undermine my best.
SPEAKER_02Listen, honestly, guys, I'm not one, I was never ever voting for apple pie. I was just trying to keep the conversation going. Nowhere in a million years would I ever vote for apple pie. I mean, I could it's it is one of the very so actually not many people like my apple pie Thanksgiving this year. Um, because guess what? I didn't put a last cinnamon in it. And most people are used to I'm okay with nutmeg and clove. And you know, I got a few looks, but I did make fresh. I'm not surprised. I made fresh, you know, I make pretty good ice cream. I don't know if you guys know. Because I'm not gonna find with you.
SPEAKER_03If we chose bread, I mean it ain't no Ben Jerry's, but yeah.
SPEAKER_02I I well I actually bought an ice cream maker. So now wow. Yeah, so I make the c I make the custard and everything. I just you guys know my custard's pretty good. Yeah, yeah. My my ice cream is pretty good don't don't do, don't do that.
SPEAKER_06I'm not gonna lie to you, Jason P kind of got you on it.
SPEAKER_02His does, I mean, uh, you know, I love Jason. Right. I love Jason. He got you on that though. I'm not gonna do it. But he no, he's he's been he makes a cream base, he doesn't make a custard base. It's different. Mine is much creamier. I'm gonna say this. Yeah, I'm gonna say it.
SPEAKER_01I'm gonna give I don't care.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna say I make better ice cream.
SPEAKER_06I'm not gonna lie, I don't even like it. I don't even like how you say a creamier, and then I just make eye contact.
SPEAKER_00I make a creamier. This is supposed to be PG 13.
SPEAKER_06Yes, well, well, this is PG 13.
SPEAKER_02Um, Josh, no Josh. I wouldn't I would never vote for anything with that much cinnamon in it, so I'm definitely going bread/slash rolls since I'm gonna do it.
SPEAKER_06Okay, so let's put it like this. I understand it. I understand it just for the listeners that we have. Um I know, I know y'all actually cussing our ass out right now. Literally, y'all cussing us out right now because most people do like apple pie. They do. They do. It's American, it's American's output. You can't get you too.
SPEAKER_02Okay, we probably should give it a better defense, but no. I'm not going to. Yeah, I'm not, I don't care. I don't have to defend myself. Yeah, we really appreciate you guys. We really do appreciate all folks. Yeah, please keep listening. We don't even have 100 downloads, so I really appreciate all you guys. Thank you so much.
SPEAKER_06Alright, what's the next
Second Round Chaos And Crock Pot War
SPEAKER_06one?
SPEAKER_02All right, number we got number one mashed potatoes versus number five pumpkin pie. Someone better defend pumpkin pie. Someone better defend defend pumpkin pie. If I could cuss right now, yeah.
SPEAKER_06I'll say F that. Yeah, someone pumpkin pie, defend it, please.
SPEAKER_02You better come up with a really good, a really good defense. No, and don't, and don't BS anybody. If you're not voting for it, don't defend it. No, I'm gonna defend it. There's no defenses for pumpkin pie. I will defend it. It is yet another cinnamon loaded.
SPEAKER_03I have to. It has to have some defense. No, it doesn't.
SPEAKER_02It does. No, it doesn't.
SPEAKER_04No, no, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. Let the man. I got a question.
SPEAKER_02Are you gonna vote for you No matter what you say, here's the thing. Are you gonna vote for pumpkin pie after you're done? Maybe. Maybe I know you're gonna try to defend yourself against some.
SPEAKER_03Pumpkin pie is as iconic as apple pie. Right? You think you think of Thanksgiving? You think of Christmas? You always have the pumpkin pie. It's even in the song. Uh you know, I met a man from Tennessee, he was headed for Pennsylvania, and some homemade pumpkin pie. Right? It's so famous that it's in the songs everyone sings. Mashed potatoes is not. You can get mashed potatoes year-round. Bojangles, KFC, uh, Popeyes. You know, you everyone get your mashed potato fix. You can always get it. So I'm I'm gonna go with the pumpkin pie. With the being iconic enough to push itself to the next round.
SPEAKER_02Is that your defense?
SPEAKER_06Is that your defense for real?
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Okay. Before before you want to base your entire defense. It is really hard to defend pie when I do like cake better.
SPEAKER_02When you you you center the entire defense around pumpkin pie on it around being iconic.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yet in the same breath, you said you can get mashed potatoes anywhere.
SPEAKER_03Exactly. This is a holiday thing. This is holiday. 100%.
SPEAKER_02But mashed potatoes is so iconic, you can get it at Bojangles KFC. You can get it almost everywhere you want, right? One, two, again, just like with the stuffing.
SPEAKER_03That's saying it's not that stuffing.
SPEAKER_02Just like with the stuffing, it is so iconic. It is, with every picture of Thanksgiving.
SPEAKER_03So the stuffing. So the stuffing, you you go for stuffing because of how iconic it is. But now you're not going to do it for the mashed potatoes. Because mashed potatoes. Because any any Joe Schmok can make mashed potatoes. 100%.
SPEAKER_02100%. No. And it is mashed potatoes is so. I think as pumpkin pie.
SPEAKER_06Mashed potatoes is iconic as pump pie. Not any joke.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you you literally, you it is so iconic that people try to make it all year on. It's so good, it goes with almost every meal that you can think of. Every home cooked meal that you could think of, right? Name a home cooked meal. Fried chicken, mashed potatoes. Meatloaf? Mashed potatoes. Steak. Mashed potatoes. Holiday. What about holidays? Salmon. It's so good. It's so good. It's so good that every that year round you get mashed potatoes with it. And then everyone goes, hey, pour tenderloin.
SPEAKER_03Mashed potatoes. Pour tenderloin. Top it off with a little muffin pie at the end at the end of the year now.
SPEAKER_02But here's the thing, though. It's so good that it goes with everything year round. And then when the holidays come, you go with turkey. What do you want with your turkey?
SPEAKER_06Mashed potatoes.
SPEAKER_02What do you want with your ham?
SPEAKER_06Mashed potatoes.
SPEAKER_02What do you want with your sausage? Beggars and mash.
SPEAKER_03Bangers and mash.
SPEAKER_02Case closed. It goes with everything. It is delicious, versatile.
SPEAKER_03But it's again, it's hot. No, I'm not, I'm not.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we're done.
SPEAKER_03Wow. Alright, here we go. I did try for you, pumpkin pie lovers, but I did try. He tried, but it's hard to defend pumpkin pie over mashed potatoes. That is a hard, hard fight. It is a hard fight. That is definitely an uphill battle.
SPEAKER_02Alright, here we go. Ready? Number nine, deviled eggs versus number four, mac and cheese.
SPEAKER_03Ooh.
SPEAKER_02Ooh.
SPEAKER_06At this point, I can't even defend mac and cheese. Well, not mac and cheese. I can't even defend deviled eggs.
SPEAKER_02Well, you don't like you don't like mac and cheese though.
SPEAKER_06But macaroni and a pie. I can make a good mac and cheese, though.
SPEAKER_02Can you make a good mac and cheese?
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Mac and cheese is good.
SPEAKER_06It's delicious. It's delicious. It's cheesy. Matter of fact. Matter of fact, you just actually put anything in your mac and cheese? I just explained everything for mac and cheese in the previous vote. You did. Oh.
SPEAKER_02Fried chicken?
SPEAKER_06It goes with mac and cheese. Meatloaf, it goes with mac and cheese.
SPEAKER_02Pork tandeloy?
SPEAKER_06It goes with mac and cheese.
SPEAKER_02Turkey. You can't have I mean honestly. You just can't do it, bro. Like, you just can't do it. It's a staple.
SPEAKER_06It is a staple. You can't argue that. But at the same time, it won't matter if it's Velveeta. It doesn't.
SPEAKER_03Kraft, I didn't even know. I didn't even know you could say that. I despise the craft mac and cheese.
SPEAKER_02Are you out of your mind?
SPEAKER_06I didn't even know you can make it cheap.
SPEAKER_03I'd rather have the Velveeta, hands down, any day. Over a craft.
SPEAKER_02I don't care. No, I'm gonna say craft stovetop, Velveeta, baked. I don't care. All mac and cheese is delicious. There is no version of mac and cheese around the colour.
SPEAKER_03Put a little razzle dozzle on it and put some like uh roots crackers on top and toast that. Ooh.
SPEAKER_06Now to be honest, I didn't even I didn't even know you could make mac and cheese a crock pot. I just found that out.
SPEAKER_02Why would you make a crocodile pot? You can make anything in a crock pot. You know the crock pot's a lazy person's version of cooking, right? But at the same time. How dare you? At the same time, I never heard of it.
SPEAKER_03I'd love to use it as a warmer.
SPEAKER_02As a warmer? That's all it should be used for. Don't cook in there. It's lazy. Hey. It's lazy. Hey. What?
SPEAKER_06I love making a beef stew in the in the crock pot. What?
SPEAKER_02Shut up. How dare you? How dare you? How dare you? How dare you? It's just on the cool. We, at the top of this episode, we are gonna have a baseline level of respect for each other's culinary abilities. And you're telling me you were gonna cook a beef stew. You said lazy date. How dare you?
SPEAKER_04You cook we cook probably six days out of the week.
SPEAKER_02Let me be lazy, sir. Stew out of a crock pot? Let me be lazy. How do you brown the meat? How do you saute your vegetables?
SPEAKER_03You can turn it on high.
SPEAKER_02It doesn't get hot enough. No, it does not. You know it doesn't. Don't do not gas up brown. It browns. Do not gas meat.
SPEAKER_06It browns a blue. How dare you? It browns a little bit.
SPEAKER_02How do you build flavors in that?
SPEAKER_06You can put a little rou in there.
SPEAKER_02You are not building flavors. You guys are full of it.
SPEAKER_03You can put a knife sachet in there.
SPEAKER_02You are out of, you could put a sachet. Yeah, of course that. Because that just sits there when it's hot. Yeah. How are you building flavors? You're not building, you're not developing building flavors with that. How dare you?
SPEAKER_03I am loving the veins popping out of his forehead right now.
SPEAKER_02But you can go back like a smoker. It's like I'm talking to people who don't even know how to cook. How dare you? I'm just saying. You can go back like a smoker. Why are you doing this to me? Why are you doing this to me? I'm just saying. It's not like a smoker. I'm just saying it's not back at all. How dare you?
SPEAKER_06You can add flavors into it.
SPEAKER_02You can't add flavors to it. Yes, you can't water? You're adding flavors to water. No, I'm not building flavors.
SPEAKER_03Why are you sitting here like you're like you're the same? Alright, so what are you going with though?
SPEAKER_04All I'm saying is.
SPEAKER_03I don't know if you can against mac and cheese. Yeah, you can't. You can't do that.
SPEAKER_02They're both great. They're both too. You know what? I really hope that's a good idea.
SPEAKER_06But it's an appetizer, as you said before. It's an appetizer. It's an appetizer.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, but you can take the you can take the mac and cheese, cool it down, cut it up, bread it, fry it. Now you got mac and cheese spice. Now it's an appetizer.
SPEAKER_06But now you want mac and cheese side. But we have this argument. Everybody has this argument. Is mac and cheese a side or coarse?
SPEAKER_03Yes. It could be both. Yes.
SPEAKER_02Thank you. It's both.
SPEAKER_06Thank you.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, absolutely. So there's the argument. You eat 12 deviled eggs. You eat 12 deviled eggs if you're not eating anything else for a while.
SPEAKER_02Says what? Says who. Okay, listen here, Mr. Fuck. Says who? Okay. Says who? You're like 340. Don't come at me and tell me you're not eating 12 double eggs in my kitchen.
SPEAKER_03That was hurtful. That was very hurtful.
SPEAKER_06How was that hurtful? He just said his weight. Okay, now say your size.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I'm sorry. Oh, I mean he's six, he's 6'4. Alright, cool.
SPEAKER_06Thank you.
SPEAKER_02I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Did I hurt your feelings? I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_06It could have been 5'2, 3'4.
SPEAKER_02I am fortunate enough to be 6'4. I'll just say it. All I'm saying is. One, I'm I didn't, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to body shame you.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, you body shame the men. I'm sorry. It's okay. We're allowed to body shame men. It's okay.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's true. You haven't been a target, you haven't been at Target. You know, body shaming men. You know Target? They got big coats. One, they ain't got big coats, but you know what they listen. So you walk into Target, you walk in the men's section, all the men completely ripped, everybody's jacked, super, super good looking dudes. The women's section, though? They got plus size models in the women's section. You're like, hey man, people like big women. This is garbage.
SPEAKER_06This is garbage. Might as well show off at Kmart.
SPEAKER_02Is Kmart still a thing?
SPEAKER_03I think in Australia. I I think macatreese won.
SPEAKER_02I made that joke uh a couple weeks ago at work or something. Someone was talking about pants and I was like, yeah, I used to wear like a well last time I was like an 18, I was 18 husky.
SPEAKER_00Husky.
SPEAKER_02I haven't heard that word in a long time. It's like I haven't heard that word in the low time. I like snapped to do like a um uh core memory. I was like, Were you in middle school? None of my brothers were like, none of my brothers had husky because like none of my pants can be passed down because I just had like the 12 or 16 Husky.
SPEAKER_03That's what they tried to be nice to be.
SPEAKER_02You could bring your old jeans in and they let you like get new jeans out. Like it was like uh it was like libraries for jeans for pork people.
SPEAKER_03I've never seen that. I don't know. It was like Sears.
SPEAKER_02You like return the jeans or whatever, and you get like it's like a thing. Yeah, yeah. Okay, first of all, don't act like you didn't wear 12 packs. I ain't gonna lie to you. I did wear 12 packs.
SPEAKER_03Thankfully, my brother was solid than wear, you didn't wear that skin.
SPEAKER_06I definitely had the hand down. No.
SPEAKER_02Well, I got the I got the sound like a channel. I got three fast, bro.
SPEAKER_06I had the one that's a generic burn the red door. You could just turn it in and then boom, that's loud thunder, too. That's loud thunder. Loud thunder.
SPEAKER_02The boys got some junk in the trunk.
SPEAKER_06What's the next
Stuffing Vs Potato Salad Gets Personal
SPEAKER_06one?
SPEAKER_02Alright, we got number 11 stuffing versus number 14 potato salads. Well, and hold on, before we start on this, before we start on this, shout out shout out to the 200 dogs coming in from the 1114 seat negative second round. This is a good thing.
SPEAKER_03I do not like this round. I don't like this round either. I hate this round.
SPEAKER_02Honestly, I think we're gonna lose one of our co-hosts in this round. Probably. Yeah, I think we're gonna uh think someone's about to get their feelings hurt.
SPEAKER_00Argue your point.
SPEAKER_02Huh? No, you've got to argue your point. No, you're gonna argue your point. You're you're you're the minority here. Bro.
unknownWow.
SPEAKER_02Do you think before you talk about it?
SPEAKER_04Are you still gonna try to?
SPEAKER_00Alright. No, you're sorry. Why don't you make fun of him for that?
SPEAKER_06Whoa. You ain't that far from the head. Oh yeah. I'm gonna first of all. At least me too.
SPEAKER_00At least I accept it. Hold on.
SPEAKER_03We don't have to have LeBron money. We can't save it. It's gone.
SPEAKER_02I don't know. I have listen. I got a question, though. Put your hand on your head. No, no, no. On your forehead on your forehead. It's a little quiet, man. You got a six head, bro. You got a six head? You don't have a forehead, you have a six head. It's about time. Bro, that thing is way back. It's not even.
SPEAKER_03Have you thought about going bald yet? No. You might you might I'm a three on a good day. Three what? Just a three. Three out of ten. I'm a three on a good day. So if you shave your head, you might have a five. If you shave your head five.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you might be a five.
SPEAKER_03I doubt it.
SPEAKER_02With the beard? With the girl with the beard out with the and you shave your head? Forget the wife. Maybe. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Forget the wife.
SPEAKER_02Forget the wife.
SPEAKER_03Forget the one woman who'll be with me. Alright, cool. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I mean, just shave. I mean, you might you might be able to pull off a shaved head in a in a beard, bro. Maybe. Alright, listen. Alright, stuffin' versus we are way off topic this episode. Alright. Stuffin' versus potato salad.
SPEAKER_03Make your make your come on.
SPEAKER_02Make your defensive potato salad.
SPEAKER_03You being quiet is very hard for me to edit.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Yeah, I know. I know. I know. So I'm trying to I'm trying to think because the only thing I can really think about is my experience with potato salad. Yeah, bring it.
SPEAKER_03Hey, make it personal. Make it personal.
SPEAKER_06Come on, baby.
SPEAKER_03Just don't make it racial.
SPEAKER_06I'm definitely gonna do that. Alright, go ahead. Go ahead. The best potato salad. The best potato salad. I'm sorry, he just said don't make a racial song. Let's go ahead and put it like this. A lot of people actually make the best potato salad. No, you have a different potato salad. I said what I said. I said what I said. There's a different potatoes out there. You have a crevase, mushroom base, or whatever the case may be. I go with a cream base. You know what I'm saying? I will with a mayonnaise base. Okay. Thank you. Definitely cream.
SPEAKER_02Well, use uh red potatoes or red potatoes. New potatoes? Red potatoes. So new potatoes, new red, whatever you want to call them. Red potatoes. Red potatoes with mayonnaise. Relish. Um white onions, yellow onions, red onions?
SPEAKER_01White onions. White onions?
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_01I'm listening.
SPEAKER_06I'm listening. White onions. No, it's cooked from my experience, it's cooked to perfection.
SPEAKER_02Because um still a little chunky. Do you smooth it out? Yes.
SPEAKER_06Chunky.
SPEAKER_02Super chunky? Smokey, chunky and smooth. Chunky and smooth. See, honestly, I like that. I like the personally my potato salad, I like that. Just that's where it's almost mashed potatoes. But it's still a little bit of a little bit of a little bit of a soft.
SPEAKER_06Oh, it's soft. Most of the time when I had uh people actually do the potato salad with mayonnaise base, their potatoes is not all the way done.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. That's the church, the church pot looked potato salads. There you go. Yeah. And you're like, oh, these potatoes aren't cooked. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, it's rough. I like that. Oh my god, why didn't you do that before?
SPEAKER_02Golly. Shout out to our producer, Eric, coming in clutch right there. That was a crutch. That was oh my god. Look at you.
SPEAKER_00Look at you producing.
SPEAKER_06That sounds sexy.
SPEAKER_00All right, all right. Now go ahead and finish your potato salad.
SPEAKER_06So growing up, my grandmother always made the potato salad. The only reason I never took her recipe or try to make it myself because I think it will. Ruin the image of her potato salad. Now, for me, that's a cop out. That's a cop out.
SPEAKER_02Dude, let him finish. Let him finish, man. He was going on a sentimental thing about his grandma, bro. Come on, man.
SPEAKER_06How dare you?
SPEAKER_02How dare you? We know the man can cook. Don't disrespect my grandma, bro.
SPEAKER_06Don't disrespect my grandma.
SPEAKER_03I'm not disrespecting the grandma. You know the rules. You must not disrespect. We all look. Everybody else.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Children and grandmothers are off limits. Off limits.
SPEAKER_03No, look, what I'm saying is who is going to carry on the potato salad, right? No. So you have to master it.
SPEAKER_02He's not done with the story yet.
SPEAKER_03You have to master it, is what I'm saying. You owe it to your grandma to master it.
SPEAKER_06No, matter of fact, that is a point. That is a good point. And I appreciate that.
SPEAKER_03So there's no disrespect. You can overdue this.
SPEAKER_05I can definitely stand. I can I can stand behind that. Yeah. I can. I can stand behind that. I'm wrong for that. Matter of fact. My bad.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, my bad. My bad. My bad. And I like the smell of your face. He makes a solid. You know what? I don't know why you say you're a three. That's a nice smile.
SPEAKER_00I like the smell of your face when you did there. You were very confident. You know what?
SPEAKER_02We need to start recording this. I wish everyone could see it smile right now.
SPEAKER_06That's a nice smile, but that was a good confidence smile.
SPEAKER_02You should do that more often. Anyways, go ahead and finish the side.
SPEAKER_06Now, so the only reason I never try to, because I don't want to mess up that image for her. Now, of course, Aaron made a good statement. I should master it. Now, once I do that, though, now I take away from her. You know what I'm saying? But I make it that's just me. That's just me.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_06That's just me. I take away from her because I don't want to do that while she's alive. Now she has a recipe right then and there. I know the taste because I ask for it every year. Sure, I ask for it for holidays.
SPEAKER_02We've had grandma's potato salad. You've brought it in every holiday.
SPEAKER_03I've never had it.
SPEAKER_02He's brought it into work. No.
SPEAKER_03I mean, he's but he might have brought it into work, but I'd never got grandma's potato salad is delicious.
SPEAKER_06Bro, I actually want to sell it. That's how that's how it is. It's a good potato salad. Bro, that's how good it is. So that's the only reason I argue for potato salad. I don't want to speak for nobody else because everybody else, I compare it to that.
SPEAKER_01No, Wood's grandma's potato salad. Shout out to Wood's grandma. Shout out.
SPEAKER_06Shout out. Shout out. Now, the only reason I compare her potato salad to everybody else, if it's mayonnaise based, yes. Now I had the vinegar base, um, like a vinegar-based, mustard base, whatever the case may be. Now at them times, that's like a north type potato salad. And I heard about that. But I don't have that a lot. So I'm basing it off mayonnaise base.
SPEAKER_01So I mean let me tell you this. Are you So here's the here's the thing though, and I hate and I hate to say this, right? Go ahead.
SPEAKER_06Shout out to them, my producer though, because I sound good. God damn.
SPEAKER_02All stuffing is delicious. That is true. All stuffing. That is true. Right. With potato salad, sometimes it's made mustard based, mayonnaise-based, vinegar, german, whatever, hot, cold. All stuffing is good. Like just like I said in the last round, cornbread stuffing, oyster stuffing, regular sourdough stuffing. Never use apples. You had sausage, sage, thyme, rosemary. But didn't y'all say y'all like marriage apples? Didn't y'all say y'all.
SPEAKER_03I I I definitely wouldn't put apples in it. You wouldn't say my stuff. And you know what? You don't have to put apples in it.
SPEAKER_02You don't have to. You could add other stuff to it. Always good. Always good. Okay. Right. It's iconic. Right? You can't have Thanksgiving without stuffing. There is no Thanksgiving without stuffing. Across everybody. Or stuffing slash dressing. That is true.
SPEAKER_06Black, white, that is true.
SPEAKER_02Doesn't matter. If you are it doesn't matter. You have stuffing and or dressing with Thanksgiving.
SPEAKER_06That's what I'm about to say. Uh is it called stuffing or dressing?
SPEAKER_02It's the same thing. I said stuffing slash dressing. It doesn't matter. Right? It doesn't matter. Black, white, everyone has stuffing or dressing. Not that. And the best part about it is that regionally you have different stuffings and different and different stuffings and different dressings.
SPEAKER_03Potato salad's different regionally too.
SPEAKER_02It is, but you know what you don't have? You know what also comes with potato salad regionally? Thanksgiving. I didn't grow up. That's fair. I didn't grow up having potato salad with Thanksgiving. I've dreaded. Yeah, I've never had potato salad for Thanksgiving or Christmas. And full disclosure, my family never had Mac. My family never had mac and cheese with Thanksgiving. Really? Yeah. And people are like, that's a white and a black thing. No, that's a southern th that's a southern thing. Yeah. Mac and cheese with Thanksgiving is a southern thing. Yeah, they don't do that out west or up north. Because I'm not going to front with the other thing. Unless your family's from the South.
SPEAKER_06Even if you're from the South, like we had discussions before we even started this recording. Y'all said potato salad. Well, no, it was during the recording. Y'all said potato salad is not uh Thanksgiving or Christmas thing. But in a lot of black holes, they have potato salad for Thanksgiving. Yeah. A lot of them. A lot of them. Um so that's when we argue the point about that. Okay. But at the same time, John is right. Um I'm still going with potato salad, so if I'm beat, fine, cool. I can live with that.
SPEAKER_02I think we had a really good discussion about that. I can live with that. I think we did. I think we did. I think we can live with that. Potato salad too.
SPEAKER_03I think we I think some emotions got raised. You know, I think, you know. Maybe some people's hearts have been swayed. Maybe not ours, but understandable. Some of our listeners.
SPEAKER_01Let's move on to the next round. Stuffing.
SPEAKER_06Green castle. Stuffing is the one that won. Yeah. Yeah, stuffing's one. Yeah, stuffing one. All right.
SPEAKER_02There we
Final Four Debates And Upset Runs
SPEAKER_02go. Seven green being castle versus number two bread slash rolls.
SPEAKER_03Red. You know what? I don't know. Red is the most eaten thing in the entire world. Sorry.
SPEAKER_06I'm just going to put it like this. I'm not a big fan of Green Bee Casserole. I'm not. I'm not.
SPEAKER_03Are you going to pick Greenbean casserole?
SPEAKER_06But I'm still pick green bean casserole. Because it is a side that actually is nutritious for you. It's good. It's good. It's delicious. I'd rather choose broccoli casserole. But don't have that option right now. I know. I know. But green casserole is the next option for me. Not bread. So I'm gonna because if I'm already doing bread, why I'm why am I eating bread, then stuffing and then this and that. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I don't know. Why are we going for three or four servings on holiday? We just do it. That's just how it is.
SPEAKER_02So so my thing is that bread bread won, I think came in really strong as a number two seed. I the fact that it got that high. That is high. Strong seeding. Right. Fantastic, fantastic show right off the bat, right? It must have had a really good regular season to get in the postseason. To be like, oh hey, listen, surprise number two. Hey, good for you. Unfortunately, I think it's Cinderella runs over, though. I really do. And and here's my thing about bread, right? It's it's great the next day to make a sandwich. Right. It is. It is fantastic to sop up all the juices and stuff left over on the plate, right? It's a fantastic. But you know what it is at the end of the day?
SPEAKER_06No wet bread, though. I don't can't do no wet bread.
SPEAKER_02It's an accessory. It is. It is. It's a utensil. It's a utens you can eat. It's true. And you guys know I love my sandwiches. You guys know my my my love for sandwiches.
SPEAKER_03We're not getting into that right now. God love a cold cut.
SPEAKER_02Gotta love cold cook.
SPEAKER_00Gotta love cold cut.
SPEAKER_02Woo!
SPEAKER_06Get your cold cook.
SPEAKER_02Unfortunately, though, bread on Thanksgiving is a is just a second is a secondary utensil. It is an ex it's an accessory. It's an accessory.
SPEAKER_03And to be honest, you know, when you say traditional holiday food, yeah, but the bread also bread also encompassed the cornbread skillet.
SPEAKER_02That's true. It says bread/slash rolls. It does. But here's the thing though. When I'm thinking Oh, we'd think about biscuits too. Biscuits and that counts as bread, yeah. I'm not saying it's not an important part of Thanksgiving. But here's the thing, though. When someone says traditional holiday food, the thing about green bean castle too is it's like cranberry sauce. You that if you make it homemade, no one cares. You gotta get you gotta get the green beans at the can, cream and mushrooms from a can, French as onions, straws out of the can.
SPEAKER_06You're gonna go with the Hawaiian rolls or you're gonna go with Pillsberry Doughboy.
SPEAKER_02That's true. But I have been I have I like to go in front of With You.
SPEAKER_03But look, I would be mad if I go to someone's house for a holiday meal. In the first thing you don't have any rolls. They don't have any roles.
SPEAKER_02Would you be upset if they didn't have Green McCasserole?
SPEAKER_03I would not be upset.
SPEAKER_06I would not be upset.
SPEAKER_02See, I would give that person shit. I'd be like, well, where's Green McCasserole?
SPEAKER_06I wouldn't be upset.
SPEAKER_02I would be like, hey, what's Green Casserole?
SPEAKER_06But would you be upset there was no bread? No, I won't be upset about that anymore. I think you would. I'd be upset.
SPEAKER_02There's no bread like substitute. So there's no cornbread, there's no biscuits, there's no Hawaiian rolls. There you go. That's what I'm saying. That's what he's saying. No type of bread. There's no type of bread with dinner. You would be in you would you be upset? Not that much upset. God, Derek.
SPEAKER_03Would you be more upset over having no green bean casserole or more upset having no bread?
unknownGod dang it, Derek.
SPEAKER_06Um, yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and go with biscuits. Alright, well, I lost that one.
SPEAKER_03Cinderella run is not over, folks.
SPEAKER_06Oh, God. Because yeah, I love my biscuits. I love rolls. Um, but still at the same time, I wanted to go with green bean casserole because it's a delicious side.
SPEAKER_07Okay, okay.
SPEAKER_02Alright, here we go. Alright, the final four. Final four. Alright, we've got mashed potatoes, number one seed versus number four seed, mac and cheese. Alright. Does anybody want to start? This is for all the I'm going with that.
SPEAKER_03This probably should have been a championship game. Yeah, it's probably should have been. I'm not going to front what you should have.
SPEAKER_01Listen.
SPEAKER_03It should have.
SPEAKER_02Scientifically. And unfortunately, we don't get what we want. And they both won their brackets outright as the favorites. And they're and they're the favorites going into the final four. They're one of four seed. And this is what happens with the one to four seed. They meet in the quarterfinals. Is it semifinals?
SPEAKER_06Well, semifinals. I don't think my vote counts.
SPEAKER_02Why does your vote count?
SPEAKER_06Well, because y'all already don't eat mac and cheese. I don't eat mac and cheese. Y'all know. You don't eat mac and cheese? No. Really? I you never knew that? I don't eat a lot of cheese. I don't eat mac and cheese. Mashed potatoes will that's my vote. John? I love mashed potatoes. John made a big argument earlier. You go with mashed potatoes.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna be honest with you. I think you need to You might want to persuade my so that make you might want to try to hold on.
SPEAKER_03Where are you standing?
SPEAKER_02Well, to be honest right now, I'm I'm standing with mashed potatoes. Standing with mashed potatoes. Absolutely. It's a one C for a reason. And without getting too emotional about it. Um we we made listen, we made the same argument for both mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. That's true. Literally the exact same argument. Unfortunately, I think at the end of the day, the mashed potatoes is more versatile.
SPEAKER_03I'm gonna add this. It's gonna be unanimous again. Mashed potatoes.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and I mean here's the same here's the thing though.
SPEAKER_03I'm a meat and potato kind of guy.
SPEAKER_02Before anyone's screaming at us, right? I just want to say this. Us unanimously voting for mashed potatoes in this in this instance isn't a hit on mac and cheese. It is not. It's not. Mac and cheese is good. And like I said in the last round, stovetop.
SPEAKER_06Because I know plenty of people.
SPEAKER_02Homemade, box, honestly, all mac and cheese as a side, as a course, mac and cheese stovetop with some cut-up hot dogs in it. Oh my god, fantastic dinner. What? Yeah, fantastic cheap. Phenomenal dinner. Fantastic. Get out of here. Get out of here. I know plenty of people. The little Looney Tune shapes or the Disney shapes. Mac and cheese, fantastic. They're frozen. Velveeta with the what?
SPEAKER_01It's frozen. What do you mean it's frozen? Yeah, that's frozen.
SPEAKER_02Frozen. Oh, you talk about the shapes. Frozen, yeah. No, the shapes, the shapes, the shells with the Velveeta cheese, delicious. Baked with the egg custard, and then they bake it in mac, delicious. Right? There's no such thing as a bad mac and cheese. However, you, however, your family expresses themselves in mac and cheese, I'm gonna eat it. I'm not gonna shit on anybody on anybody's way of making mac and cheese. One, actually, that's what we need to talk about here, right? It's people shaming other people's mac and cheese.
SPEAKER_06That's true. That's true.
SPEAKER_02There's a lot of mac and cheese shame. But you know what? No one ever talks about mac and cheese comes in many different forms, and however your family makes it, good for them.
SPEAKER_06How dare you?
SPEAKER_02What?
SPEAKER_06You just shamed mac and cheese earlier.
SPEAKER_02How did I shame mac and cheese earlier? Yeah.
SPEAKER_06They're lazy people if they make it in the crock pot.
SPEAKER_02Except if you make anything in a crock pot. I'm gonna shame any use of the crock pot, though. Two things he can't do. People who shame people's mac and cheese.
SPEAKER_03The people who make mac and cheese in a crock pot.
SPEAKER_02Hey, I'm gonna shame anyone's use of the crock pot. Crock pot can only it should be only used for one thing. And that's warming up meatballs. Like keeping meatballs hot or holding a soup hot. But as far as cooking goes, I actually used to keep my mac and cheese hot.
SPEAKER_03Whatever. You got all those things. You just have to do it hot, yeah.
SPEAKER_02To keep it hot. I love it. You don't cook in the crock pot. Well, it's a warming cheese.
SPEAKER_03I make the cheese sauce. I you know, I boil the pasta like I normally. You make it what? And then I mix it all together and I put it in the crock pot.
SPEAKER_01Go ahead and describe it for the people.
SPEAKER_06What's my cheese sauce? It's his cheese sauce. We're not shaming Mac.
SPEAKER_02We don't shame people for how they cook their mac and cheese. You're right, you're right. We don't do that.
SPEAKER_06You're right, you're right. I just wanted to know.
SPEAKER_02Stop with the mac and cheese shaming.
SPEAKER_03Alright, Kennedy.
SPEAKER_00That's not what you can do for mac and cheese. That's what mac and cheese can do for you. What the fuck? Don't ask what mac and cheese can do for you. Ask what you can do for mac and cheese. Ekling mac and cheese and look.
SPEAKER_02No, the eagling Berliner line. Where he goes, I love Berlin. I'm a Berliner. What does he say?
SPEAKER_06I don't know. I don't know. But no, but yeah. Don't shame mac and cheese.
SPEAKER_02Don't make me bust out the mac and cheese Kennedy again.
SPEAKER_03That's a controversial statement. We don't need any more John JFK impressions, like we need a hole in the head.
SPEAKER_02Oh too soon.
SPEAKER_03Too soon, bro. Too soon. Too soon.
SPEAKER_02It's been like 60 years, man. Oh my god, it'll be 60 years this year.
SPEAKER_03That joke came out of the grassy knoll.
SPEAKER_02Okay, we're moving on now. Alright, number 11 stuffing versus number two bread and rolls.
SPEAKER_00By the way, hey, before we before we go to part of the I think he knows he's gonna lose this one. He's about to lose his one. I'm gonna lose his one.
SPEAKER_03This is gonna hurt him. This is gonna hurt him apart.
SPEAKER_06You already know where we're going. Okay. You already know where we're going. You better make a statement. I think you pulled everything out. He did.
SPEAKER_00He had said I just think the gun is already the whole.
SPEAKER_02I want to point the fact out that I have taken single-handedly, because I don't know if you guys know single-handedly, I have taken stuffing to the to the final four. From the 11th seed. It is the Cinderella of It is the Cinderella. I have taken an 11th seed to the final four. But but it takes a team to win. And it does take a team to win. And let me tell you why stuffing is that.
SPEAKER_06You're not LeBron. You're not Kobe. You're not Jordan. I'm trying to tell you this right now.
SPEAKER_02Let me tell you why stuffing is that team. Right. I'm going to go to the text.
SPEAKER_03Look, stuffing. Look, look, look. I'm going to throw some shade on Taylor Heineke. You you're a Heineke. You're I've enjoyed the passion and you're taking you're taking the team far. But I don't think you're gonna make it.
SPEAKER_02I love stuffing.
SPEAKER_03It is my favorite.
SPEAKER_02I don't know if anyone can tell it's my favorite dish of Thanksgiving. It really is. Oh, we see. It is my favorite. And and here's why, right?
SPEAKER_03See, but I'm not upset if no I again, I don't even make it. You already know where I'm gonna do.
SPEAKER_02I would get upset if I went to Thanksgiving and there was no stuffing. Dude, just like the mac and cheese, stovetop, baked this better be heart filled with oysters, corn, sourdough. It doesn't matter how your family makes stuffing. It doesn't matter. The fact of the matter is, is that as long as it's on the Thanksgiving. As long as it's on the table, right. It is a Thanksgiving meal. There is no Thanksgiving meal without the stuffing. And just like I said in the previous round, black, white, but it's not a meal without mealing. Northern, southern, east coast, west coast. There is no meal on Thanksgiving without stuffing. Now the bread is gonna change. Right? In the south, there's gonna be cornbread, right? Biscuit. In the north, and then there might be biscuits, right? In the south. Yeast rolls. Yeast rolls up north. Cheddar bay biscuits. Better bay biscuits, wherever you're at, right? There's gonna be biscuits, there's gonna be rolls. However, your family, however your ethnicity, however they make bread, that bread is going to be featured, but it is gonna be featured at every meal. Have you ever hold on, I'm not done.
SPEAKER_06I'm not done. Hold on, but have you noticed? What? Have you noticed? Yes. When you look at a picture for Thanksgiving dinner, they are sitting right across from each other. Always. Every top. Listen, hold on. Every top. Every top is like they're parallel to each other with every time.
SPEAKER_02Regionally, your bread, whatever ethnicity you are, whatever region of the country you're from, that bread that you have on Thanksgiving will be at every will be at other mills. Right? It'll be a fourth of July. It'll be a memorial day, it'll be a labor day, it'll be at your grandma's birthday. Right? It's gonna be at every event, every time your family gets together, they're gonna have those rolls of those bread that are specific to your family. But you know what you have around the holidays? When there's turkey, right? When there's turkey, you have traditional holiday, you know what you have? There you're gonna have stuffing and dressing. It is the today's topic is traditional holiday food. Holiday food. Traditional holiday food. Right. And just like I said the last round, the bread is the accessory. It's just another utility. Right? Or utensil, right? It's no different than a fork. It is an edible fork. It is a tasty spoon. But you know what it's not? It's not stuffin'. Alright? So and I really hope you guys are listening to this. And I really hope you guys are taking this in, because right now I don't feel like I'm getting I don't feel like I'm getting a lot a lot of feet from you guys right now. All I'm saying is that before you guys cast your vote, I really need to think about.
SPEAKER_03But look, bread. Bread is everywhere. Every holiday around the world. Stuffing is bread.
SPEAKER_02Stuffing is bread. Hold on. Stuffing is bread. Yeah, technically. Stuffing is bread. Technically. Stuffing is baked, delicious bread. It is it is taking the bread.
SPEAKER_03All bread's baked.
SPEAKER_02It is taking all bread is baked. Yeah, but it is double baked. It is taking it is honestly if you're a big thing.
SPEAKER_03I can't bake a sandwich out of stuffing.
SPEAKER_02Cornbread too. Cornbread's it's it's taking leftover bread that your family didn't consume because they may always make too much. And they take it apart and they add more flavors to it. And you know what they do? You know what they do? They make it they make it into this delicious baked soft but but crispy bowl, a ball of just flavor and f and and holidays and nostalgia. And somehow, somehow, with every with every traditional holiday meal, you get this beautiful side dish note of stuffing or dressing.
SPEAKER_06I'm gonna have to go ahead and go with it.
SPEAKER_03So hold on, look, I'm gonna be hold on.
SPEAKER_06You won't let that be honest about this. That's like taking cornflakes and turning it into frosty flakes. Literally. That is like upgrading something into another level. How he described that though? You're adding in your favorite things that you want to eat with this bread. And you can do that. You can do that with that.
SPEAKER_02No, no, but you can you can use it to sop it up too. You can use stuffing to sop up too with the gravy. What? You have a gravy? You have a gravy in the stuffing? It's already wet.
SPEAKER_03You have a gravy in the stuffing. It's already wet. Now you're just eating mushrooms. It's not that wet. Now you're just eating mushrooms. It's not that wet.
SPEAKER_06You're just making it mushroom. That's like saying fruitcake is wet.
SPEAKER_02What? No, it's not that wet. Fruitcake's moist. No one would call it wet, it's moist. Moist. Moist. Moist.
SPEAKER_06It was moist.
SPEAKER_02So wet. Alright, before we go to the final round, we have to solve this. All in favor of bread, say aye.
SPEAKER_03Aye.
SPEAKER_02All in favor of stuffing, say aye. Aye. This is out of two to one vote, stuffing goes in the last round.
SPEAKER_00Alright, here we go.
Championship Verdict And Farewell
SPEAKER_06He made good points.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, well, he definitely ain't winning this one. Now you're being biased. Mashed potatoes? Alright, here we go.
SPEAKER_02Mashed potatoes? Here we go. Number one in the final. Number one, mashed potatoes versus number 11, stuffing slash dressing.
SPEAKER_03See, it's disrespectful. See, this this now what this is disrespectful to mac and cheese.
SPEAKER_06We're having stuffing here. Well it is. Scientific method scientifically. Scientifically. I'm just saying. Sometimes it's a matchup that needs to be had.
SPEAKER_02It's a matchup that needed to be had. Honestly, I'm looking at this. Two best, two best side issues game.
SPEAKER_06I'm not gonna say it's two best. I'm sorry. Well that's what happened. That's what happened. That's what happened. That's what happened. It's definitely not the best. It's the persuasion. Thank you. Thank you. You're right. You're right. It's the persuasion.
SPEAKER_03He he actually I would be amazed if he could if he could swade your vote. I got nothing left.
SPEAKER_06Nothing. Nah, persuade my vote on this one. I got nothing left. Because when it comes to mashed potatoes, like when you once you eat a mashed potato, like he said, it's nostalgic for Stephon for him. Mashed potatoes is nostalgic for everybody. For everybody. Everybody. Everybody. It's smooth. It's one of the first things.
SPEAKER_02Creamy.
SPEAKER_06It's a f one of the first thing cream to the kids. It don't matter if you add just water, butter, garlic. You don't even need cream. Just have sour cream. Just have sour cream at the end.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, that makes it.
SPEAKER_03He knows he got away with something that he shouldn't have gotten away with. Yeah. Let's be honest.
SPEAKER_07His victory.
SPEAKER_03He is giggling like a little schoolgirl right now. Because he got away with something. His victory is in the championship. He stole the candy from the convenience store and no one noticed, and he's gonna be a little fat boy behind and eat the eat the candy bar. As a matter of fact, he got caught at the end.
SPEAKER_01He just got caught at the end.
SPEAKER_06It's like Walter White much Walter White wanted to get to his business.
SPEAKER_03Made it to the knockout round.
SPEAKER_02The fact the what? Here I'm uh uh not winning the tournament isn't winning for me. Just making it past the round is right for me. And uh I I have a deep affinity for stuffing slash. As you said, a Cinderella story. And it is a Cinderella story, it's a left it's the highest ranked seed ever to get this. If the Cinderella gets to the city, it's not this is the first time 11th seed. We've had an 11th seed get to the second round, we've never had an 11th seed go to the third round, never had an 11th seed go to the final round.
SPEAKER_03Um to be completely honest. And you know it's wrong. You know, you know deep down that it's an abomination.
SPEAKER_02I think under the rules on which we've uh set up here, I think that he's right. I think that stuffing deserved in this round. So in this in this tournament, Stephen Stephing got what it deserved.
SPEAKER_06No, I'm not gonna say that either, but Stephanie worked his ass off to get here. Stuffing worked his ass off to get here. It did.
SPEAKER_03Needed a lot of help. It needed a lot of people. A lot of it had to go its way.
SPEAKER_02I'm not gonna lie, I'm physically exhausted from defense.
SPEAKER_03You're looking at bad penalty calls, you're looking at uh because there's nothing to be said about mashed potatoes that you there's nothing I could take away from mashed potatoes.
SPEAKER_02And here's the thing, man. It came in as a one seed. There's a reason why it was ranked a one seed, there was a reason why it was undisputed, why he had no problem getting to the finals, why there was no debate getting into the finals. Mashed potatoes for the win. Best traditional holiday food, mashed potatoes for the win. Thank you guys. Thank you guys. Have a great night. Have a great night.
SPEAKER_03Yes, thank you.
