This episode I'm stoked to welcome back returning champ Pete Koeneman, calling in all the way from Maui. It's always a good time when Pete joins the pod and this ep is no exception.
We chat about life on the island and how wayyyy too many hoomans are coming to visit the island right now. We also discuss the FDA's latest slimy, desperate, and dangerous move to attempt an international ban on the plant medicine kratom, which helps millions of people around the world, and especially in the U.S., wean off prescription opiates. It helped me to defeat alcoholism. The American Kratom Association is filing a suit to extend the comment period for this proposed ban until later in August- find out more at protectkratom.org.
It is the BNP after all so we rant a bit about Big Pharma, gentrification, autocracy, and other assorted cheerful topics relating to the overall tailspin of our late stage global capitalist system. But never fear! We end the discussion on a positive note, discussing past lives and the indomitability of (and need to elevate) the human spirit.
Finally we get an update on Pete's property in Kenya and he even drops some very exciting news... BNP world premier... but you'll just have to listen to find out.
