Cold Open In The Car

SPEAKER_00

Hey yo. Hey Les, how's it going?

SPEAKER_01

Whoa. So here's what I'm gonna say. Welcome to another episode of Black Boom Besties from Brooklyn. But you know, the way that I'm recording it, if anybody's is of a certain age, this is the Blair Witch Project

The Blair Witch Recording Vibe

SPEAKER_01

edition. Okay, what am I talking about? Do you remember Blair Witch that that old horror film from years ago? It was shot on like a handheld video or whatever, and the date it was such a footage, but it made so much money. So okay. This is what this is that edition. Because in my car, I just walked and it's like, okay, that's record right now, right now. I'm like, I got nothing. So this is the language.

SPEAKER_00

Where were you? About an hour. I'm in the skyline. And um uh so you may hear some backgrounds, but I'm here I'm like we have to do that if it's not now. I don't know. But again, because uh three hours. We're gonna crazy. We're gonna do a quick recording and um just to make sure we're consistent with you guys. And um it has been so tiring all the

Decluttering Wins And Goodie Bags

SPEAKER_00

things that we had to do to get to this point, but it's so worth it. It's still worth it. So I don't know if we're gonna write a book or a guide or something.

SPEAKER_01

Oh that way. I mean, obviously, we're gonna attach some pictures to this podcast or others, but the way that you both executed, and I mean you with your organizational and spreadsheet stuff, it's like you just started selling stuff getting rid of it. Like, we got the bed is gone now. Okay, we're now down to two chairs, the chair is gone. Then at the goodbye um at the at the um going away party you had, you made not little um takeaways, but it's like you packed stuff like I don't want this. Grab this, this is your going your gift, your what a goodie bag. You make goodie bags of items that you didn't want. It's like what? That's genius.

SPEAKER_00

It's like um it's like I I first moved to um part of this and then I had the Alpha Pack of everything and get ready. So I did that myself and um had to um part of that and you know it it's it's just stuff that you heard and you have an idea, and it's like okay, I'll try that. It worked, it worked great. But I'll tell you, even after all of the stuff that went on the cargo ship too had um big suitcase, not including our carry-on. Thank God she has like ultimately, you know, at a point of status beyond platinum. There's another one, like another level up. Um I don't know why we want to be the first one to say got no higher. It's like somebody like got no higher. It was like back and forth. I got it.

SPEAKER_01

That's an automatic win, but we use it sparingly.

Flights Hotels And Timeline Pressure

SPEAKER_00

We got to go.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my gosh, so you guys have good seats?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we have good seats and uh we've got to stay in different hotels because um you know we went to New York and to LA and now we're actually in Atlanta because uh it just made more sense to spend the night here than to go.

SPEAKER_01

So you guys are like when when you you came up, or maybe it didn't happen yet, but when you pulled up to the airport, you did it because you're in the lounge in the airport with all these boxes. Yeah, yeah. Well, this You must look like

When Suitcases Get Measured

SPEAKER_01

Donovan.

SPEAKER_00

Hold on, no boxes, suitcases, okay.

SPEAKER_01

Suitcases, right, okay, for you have eight of whatever I've never seen everyone that doesn't say like what is happening.

SPEAKER_00

We got several, are all of these yours?

SPEAKER_01

Oh wait, I never knew that your suitcases can be too big because I'll make it so you get the biggest suitcase, you collect as much as possible, you collect 20 pounds, and then you're good, but we got it pulled out the tape and started measuring because it has to have a like a total total size, like exactly.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, yes, but we got caught on that, which is only my fault. I'm like extra. Yes, but that's gonna, yeah, we did have to pay extra. But at this point, we're like, whatever, just just gotta get a car.

SPEAKER_01

Whatever is my wallet.

SPEAKER_00

Exactly. But because of her status, um, it was a lot less because we we thought we'd have a lot overweight because there were maybe half the bags were over 50, but she was allowed

Status Perks That Save Money

SPEAKER_00

70 pounds. Right. All right, so that was um that helped actually make it not as bad as it could have been.

SPEAKER_01

We did it. You know what that reminds me of when Rick and I were in Costa Rica, and we took a little like a prop plane, not prop, what do they call it, like a single engine or whatever, playing from one place to another. So I had my bag, and then the guy's like, okay, step on the scale. Like, I know this man is not asking me in public to step on the scale in front of my man and in front of all like oh Lord Like a little bit on the blame and all like okay, you over there's me. No, he didn't say that. He didn't say that. I thought that just came in as like that's what

The Public Scale Travel Story

SPEAKER_01

it's like, no. That was the time I'm gonna mess up the ring about my real way. No man, I'll happen to not be sad about uh seeing you at the airport about the board for another country. I'm just gonna pretend that uh that you're just in and it's like you're just right over there, you know.

SPEAKER_00

As always, just right over there.

SPEAKER_01

I hope that uh Wi-Fi just works, you know. No good when I re-true.

SPEAKER_00

It was just fine. We have quite a little group of um chat coming down. A couple of other friends in the process app.

SPEAKER_01

So my gosh, this is I I can't wait to get there. But I need to start really like shutting things down here. Yeah, as stable as Amari is becoming, I need to start, you know.

SPEAKER_00

What about it's it's gonna do your time, so it's it takes the time it takes uh you have me out to skip so you can be fine.

SPEAKER_01

Right, right.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god, it's gonna be short because we have to get ready to board. Um

Fast Farewell And Brooklyn Sign-Off

SPEAKER_00

I wanna make sure that um checking package.
