Instant gratification makes everything feel urgent except the one thing that actually is: eternity. We start with a confession many of us understand all too well, anxiety that turns life into constant prepping for worst-case scenarios, with endless “what if” questions and a never-ending search for control. Then we ask the question that cuts through all the noise: are we preparing for God, or are we only preparing for earth? If you’ve ever felt spiritually behind, distracted, or numb from the pace of modern life, this conversation brings you back to what matters most.

We go straight into the heavy realities people avoid saying out loud: death is not romantic, sin has consequences, and the Bible is clear about heaven and hell. We talk about the fall in the Garden of Eden, why death has a sting, and why separation from Christ is the deepest danger a person can face. But we don’t stay in fear. We point to the mercy of God and the bridge he builds for humanity through Jesus Christ, the only way across the chasm sin creates. That gospel hope is the center of true spiritual preparedness.

From there, we get practical about Christian readiness for the end times and for everyday storms. We connect Scripture to real life through examples like Paul’s shipwreck and the parable of the ten virgins in Matthew 25, with its sharp warning about running out of oil at the midnight cry. We lay out a simple path forward: surrender control, stay rooted in the Word of God, stay in prayer, and stay engaged with the church because this walk of faith is not a one-person show. If this helped you, subscribe, share it with someone you love, and leave a review so more people can hear the call to stay watchful, stay faithful, and stay prepared.

Anxiety And The Prepping Mindset

SPEAKER_03

You know, we live in a world that is completely obsessed with instant gratification. Everything is fast paced. If you want it, the information is there. It's just a click away. If you want food, it's at your doorstep in 30 minutes. But because it is right at your fingertip, tongue tied, we've kind of forgotten what it means to actually prepare for anything. Personally, I deal with anxiety, and anxiety goes with a lot about what I'm talking about today. You know, and anybody that's been a prepper or prepped or anything that, you know, worst case scenario, you're ready for it, deals with anxiety. And that has been my life, my whole life is anxiety. You know, preparing for the worst case scenario, having a bag ready with, you know, barren essentials in it, ready to go at the doorstep, ready to go. That's the way I grew up, and that's the way it is. And it was kind of a good thing and a bad thing at one time because you know, you, you know, we are, I was saying, I learned a lot of bad habits in that. And I don't think there's nothing wrong with prepping. I don't think there's anything wrong with preparing for the worst case scenario because as Christians, that's what we're doing. You know, these last days are the worst case scenario. It's coming, folks. And we have to be prepared and ready. You know, personally, like I said, I deal with anxiety, and if you have any anxiety, you know exactly what you're, you know, I'm going through. And um, you spend your entire life prepping for the worst case scenario. You're constantly asking your yourself, what if questions? You know, and it's just plain and simple. Doing everything that you can possibly do to protect your flesh, your finances, and comfort.

Earthly Planning Versus Godward Readiness

SPEAKER_03

But you know, recently I had to stop and ask myself a really hard question. Am I preparing? I'm preparing all of these earthly scenarios, but am I preparing for God? And that's what I want to talk to you guys about today is preparing is essential. Like I said, there's nothing wrong with it, but preparing is essential for everything that we do in life. You know, so today we're stripping away the noise and looking, you know, after the ultimate long game. We're talking about the reality of death, the necessity of readiness, and how God has already built a bridge. You know.

Death After The Fall

SPEAKER_03

And let's just go ahead and you know, let's dive right into the heavy stuff because we have touched on the topic of death. It is certainly not a pretty subject, but it plays a massive role in our lives. Death isn't the romanticized, peaceful concept we sometimes see in movies. It is grievous, it is raw, it is deeply damaging, destroys the very physical vessel we depend on. And I and it all began at the back in the garden with Adam and Eve since the fall of humanity. You know, since the fall of humanity, we've been making a mess. And um trying to find my notes here. You know, sometimes you get to talking and anybody that does anything kind of gets off top, and I gotta go back and find my notes. But you know, we do, we we make a mess of it. And Adam and Eve, they made a mess of it. You know, and um and it's the truth. And um and we we wander off and we chase our desires, and you know, and we need a miracle to pull us back in, but but here's the beauty of it, of who God is, what Satan meant for evil, God turned around it, turned it around for good. You know, from the beginning, God stepped into the equation. He stepped right between us and death, so that it would not take hold ultimate power over us our when our time comes. Because Jesus literally turns ashes into beauty. The beauty of death now for the believers is that we actually have something incredible to look forward to after this life, an eternity of peace. That truth alone should be enough to lead you to Christ. It's just the truth, that alone, just to have that eternal peace and salvation after we die. And you know, but we can't ignore the flip side.

Hell And The Sting Of Death

SPEAKER_03

Death has a sting. It is physically and spiritually painful. It separates us from our loved ones here on earth. But here's the thing but if dying without Christ brings an everlasting separation. If you know, if death separates you from Christ, I promise you, it'll be more it it will be more harmful or hurtful and damaging than you can possibly ever imagine. God doesn't mince words in the Bible. He gives us a vis vivid description of hell. It is a place of weeping and gnashing of teeth, a fire brimstone, is a place of extreme agony, sorrow, rage. Unimaginable. Say it again, unimaginable torment. Like I mentioned earlier, I deal with anxiety. And dealing with that anxiety here on earth, it is tough. Having to deal with it in hell, it would be completely unbearable. I promise you. Hell wasn't even designed for man, it was designed for the devil and his angels. What makes any of us think that we can handle all that hell has to offer? Again, it's unthinkable. But God in his mercy knows this. He knew it from the beginning. And that's the beauty of it. There is a great gulf between heaven and hell.

Jesus Bridges The Chasm

SPEAKER_03

And we hear about this chasm in the scriptures story of the rich man in the Lazarus. Why is there a great gulf? Simply put, God has no part with sin. That gulf teaches us a daily lesson. We must separate ourselves from the very appearance of evil by sending his only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, God, bridge that gap for humanity and made a very way, made that very way for us to reach heaven. Ain't that amazing? Things bring us back to the core themselves is readiness. This brings us back to the core. Readiness. God's word is ultimate. It's preparation key that allows you to face whatever comes next. Being prepared allows us to face the spiritual enemies when they attack. Think about it. The apostle Paul, when he was shipwrecked, and a venomous viper latched out of the fire into his hands. You know, he he shook it off. He shook it off into the fire. If Paul had not been spiritually prepared before that moment, he would not have survived. And hear me on this.

The Storm Coming And Spiritual Armor

SPEAKER_03

God is telling us that the storm is coming. It is a storm like nothing humanity has ever experienced before. One of pure destruction and devastation. I promise you, you will not survive what is coming without Christ in your life. You won't. You won't survive nothing without Christ in your life, I promise you. And if you do not have the blood of Jesus applied to your soul, you will not make it. I don't know how much distress that. The very second you die in your sins, hell takes hold of you without warning. Just like that. Snap of your fingers, blink of your eye, hell's got you. You know, the Bible tells us that hell is expanding its borders daily, making room for those who choose to reside there for eternity. The devil knows the importance of readiness, and he knows the preparation is a long game. He wants you distracted by the fi fast-paced, instant gratification culture.

Ten Virgins And Midnight Readiness

SPEAKER_03

But look at the parable with the ten virgins, you can find that in Matthew 25. Five foolish and five were wise. Let's see, and the foolish took their lamps. I'll read it to you. You know, the foolish took their lamps, but tuna but took no extra oil. The wise took oil and their vessel. When the bridegroom was destroyed, they all fell asleep. I'm having trouble with my vision and I'm trying to read my notes and I apologize that. And uh when the bridegroom was delayed, they all fell asleep. But at midnight the cry came, Behold, the bridegroom cometh. Go you out to meet him. And the foolish virgins realized their lamps were going out, and tried to beg for oil, but there wasn't enough to share. While they ran off to try to buy some, the bridegroom came. Those wouldn't ready went in with him. The ones that were ready went in with him to the marriage. And the door was shut. When the others returned, crying, Lord, Lord, open up, he answered, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. Here's the kicker. Here's the key. Listen, this is the absolute key. Listen. Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour which the silent man cometh. Everything points back to his truth. Prepare yourself if you don't want to be left out.

Vision Struggles And Prayer Request

SPEAKER_03

And I again, folks, I apologize. You know, I'm ri I'm sitting here trying to read my notes and just I've been having trouble on my vision. And if I don't if I've ever mentioned it, you know, I have sugar problems. You know, I'm a diabetic. And you know, my if you have sugar problems, you understand what I'm going through. My eyes fluctuate vision-wise. And I do desire your guys' prayer. Um and I'm praying for a healing or doesn't stabilize, and I can blow up the words on this tablet and I can read. And um, I appreciate that. So, you know, I go back to my notes.

Surrender Church And Daily Practice

SPEAKER_03

And um, so how do we do this? How do we play the long game of faith? First we surrender. The words tells us that we have can we have to control our own destiny. The world Why I say word? Because I can't read. The word tells the world tells us that we have to control our own destiny and and set our own stage. That is a lie right from the enemy. God wants us. God wants us to do the heavy lifting and preparation for us. He does. He I mean, that's just plain and simple. We've got to do a few things, but you know, God wants to do it all. You know, he wants to help us a lot. He is the supplier of all of our needs to his riches and to his glory. But here's the thing, what he wants us to do is, like I said, there's a part for us to do. We have to surrender and allow God to take control of that. The only thing he tells us to do is pack our own cross. Read, study ourselves approved. Um, second, we engage with the church. The church is a vital of our readiness. God tells us not to forsake the assemblies of ourselves together. Think about it. He wants us to spend time now with our brothers and sisters in Christ. Because we are going to spend eternity with them. That's the truth. If you're sitting next to a sister and brother in church and you don't really care much for them, just remember this. You can be in heaven with them. And uh we've got to learn to live with them now, because if you can't do that, you're not gonna be with them when we do crossover. It'll be either or heaven or hell. You know, remember, remember when Lazarus was raised from the dead? Jesus performed a miracle, but then he turned to the community and he told them to take off the grave clothes. We need each other to help entangle ourselves from the dead things of our past. Because see, that that death that's that is surrounding Lazarus, if we don't help our brothers and sisters and show them how to take off those things, they're not going to be ready for when that time comes, and they're not gonna be ready to help somebody else when that time comes. That's what that's what we're preparing for now. Preparation requires action. Faith without works is dead. If man doesn't work, he doesn't eat. It's plain and simple. So let's get practical. We can actively prepare ourselves in three simple ways. Uh reading and studying the Word of God makes it our daily bread. Preparing and staying in constant communication with the Father and Jesus Christ, fellowship with one another. This walk of faith is not a one-man show. It's not. It simply ain't. Like I said, from the Garden of Eden all the way to the cross, Christ, God, has prepared, has been preparing a way for us to make it home. He's done his part. Now we have to do ours.

The Final Question And Sendoff

SPEAKER_03

You know, I leave you with the ultimate question. Plain and simple. The ultimate question. You must ask yourself today. Who are you preparing for? Are you preparing for heaven? Are you preparing for hell? Don't wait until midnight cry to get your oil today. And let me tell you something else. Here's a freebie. If you got a little bit of oil to share, help your brothers and sisters out. Teach them how to prep and get that oil. I thank you all for so much for listening. You know, and it's been a challenging episode as far as my reading and reading my notes and trying to stay on cue and key with everything. And but I encourage you, please, please share this, share it to your friends, your family, whoever needs to hear it. Until next time, stay watchful, stay faithful, stay prepared. God bless you all.
