couple of verses in Matthew 20 and Matthew 22. 00:00:41.850 --> 00:01:02.805 And Acts 13, verse one now there were in the church that was at Antioch, a certain prophets and teachers, as Barnabas and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene and Manon, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul or Paul. 00:01:02.805 --> 00:01:13.408 And as they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Ghost said separate me, barnabas and Saul, for the work where unto I have called them. 00:01:13.408 --> 00:01:19.626 And when they had fasted and prayed and laid their hands on them, right, and then we'll look at Matthew, chapter 20, verse 16. 00:01:35.599 --> 00:01:46.528 Jesus made this statement twice in the book of Matthew, where he says many are called and few are chosen. 00:01:46.528 --> 00:01:51.668 So the first time he said it, matthew 20, 16. 00:01:51.668 --> 00:02:02.141 So the last shall be first and the first last, for many be called and few chosen, all right. 00:02:02.141 --> 00:02:05.429 And then he said it again in Matthew 22, 14. 00:02:05.429 --> 00:02:10.489 And he said there many are called, few are chosen. 00:02:10.489 --> 00:02:14.817 So that's what I wanted to share with you. 00:02:15.239 --> 00:02:15.560 Tonight. 00:02:15.560 --> 00:02:19.770 I had a message entitled from called to chosen Many are called. 00:02:19.770 --> 00:02:24.651 Jesus said many are called, but few, few are chosen. 00:02:24.651 --> 00:02:30.108 Jesus said that God is preparing for the greatest harvest ever. 00:02:30.108 --> 00:02:42.449 You know, throughout history God has been faithful to supply the church the gifting and the ministries needed, and he's not gonna be any different this time. 00:02:42.449 --> 00:02:49.287 We see a lot of dysfunction, we see a lot of terrible stuff going on, and it seems like the church is still asleep. 00:02:49.287 --> 00:02:56.164 But let me tell you something the church is gonna wake up and God is gonna have His ministries in place for the end time harvest. 00:02:56.164 --> 00:02:58.685 God's the greatest farmer that ever lived. 00:02:58.685 --> 00:03:09.945 It's on Him and he is the Lord of the harvest, and so he's in charge of calling and choosing, or what I'd like to say, commissioning. 00:03:11.020 --> 00:03:14.145 Somebody said well, you know, this is talking about five-fold ministry. 00:03:14.145 --> 00:03:18.243 God is really talking about every believer's ministry, every believer. 00:03:18.243 --> 00:03:23.971 You've called it a general believer's ministry, but of that there's a specific gifting. 00:03:23.971 --> 00:03:28.127 There are gifts differing in the body of Christ, and every member is important. 00:03:28.127 --> 00:03:34.370 The Bible teaches us that in the book of Romans, the book of 1 Corinthians, chapter 12. 00:03:34.370 --> 00:03:49.028 And so we have to be ready to be set into our ministries and we have to make sure that we understand that there's a calling and then there's a qualifying, and then there's a commissioning or a choosing. 00:03:50.240 --> 00:04:00.727 You know, I think about Isaiah 41, 15, it came across this verse not long ago God is making us a new sharp threshing instrument with teeth. 00:04:00.727 --> 00:04:02.526 That word teeth means mouths. 00:04:02.526 --> 00:04:06.967 You know that sharp threshing instrument is a harvesting tool. 00:04:06.967 --> 00:04:12.100 See, god is making the church a massive harvesting tool. 00:04:12.100 --> 00:04:18.333 Really, it's unmatched in the church's history the kind of harvest that we're going to have. 00:04:18.333 --> 00:04:23.029 It's going to be massive in size and accelerated in timing. 00:04:24.661 --> 00:04:30.572 And so many callings are being revealed and they're being renewed. 00:04:30.572 --> 00:04:34.255 Some callings have been forgotten or they've been given up on. 00:04:34.255 --> 00:04:36.906 You know, the gifts and callings of God are without repentance. 00:04:36.906 --> 00:04:39.908 You know, god called me when I was four years old and I buried it. 00:04:39.908 --> 00:04:41.005 I mentioned this Sunday. 00:04:41.005 --> 00:04:49.452 I buried it, I disobeyed, I ran the other way because, as a Catholic boy, when I got the call I thought it meant priest. 00:04:49.452 --> 00:04:55.173 And then when I discovered girls, and specifically Gladys, well then I decided there's no way. 00:04:55.173 --> 00:05:09.285 You know, but God had a plan and he is going to reveal his callings, he's going to renew his callings and there are fresh impartations and assignments going out all the time. 00:05:09.285 --> 00:05:17.353 Many, jesus said many are called, but few are chosen or commissioned. 00:05:17.353 --> 00:05:25.182 So when we go back to Matthew 2016, when he said it, he said the first should be last, the last first. 00:05:25.182 --> 00:05:26.607 Many are called, fewer chosen. 00:05:27.439 --> 00:05:29.105 He was talking about the attitude. 00:05:29.105 --> 00:05:36.913 He told a parable about a person who hired some people to go and work in his field early in the morning. 00:05:36.913 --> 00:05:54.709 They got there at nine o'clock or six o'clock in the morning, I should say, and he they agreed for a certain wage and then, every couple of hours during the day, he hired some more and at the end of the day, the ones that had just been working one hour got the same pay that everybody else agreed to to mark the whole day. 00:05:54.709 --> 00:05:57.548 And so some of the people were not happy about that. 00:05:57.548 --> 00:06:00.185 And so Jesus is speaking. 00:06:00.185 --> 00:06:02.504 He said you know, uh? 00:06:02.504 --> 00:06:05.312 So the man says well, isn't it my money? 00:06:05.312 --> 00:06:07.050 What can I do with my money? called fewer chosen, and that was because of poor preparation. 00:07:10.687 --> 00:07:25.105 They didn't prepare themselves, they didn't have on the righteous, the righteous robes, or what a wedding garment is white and it, it, and it represents God's righteousness, which means obedience, it means preparation. 00:07:25.105 --> 00:07:31.692 And so Ephesians, chapter four uh, let's go there. 00:07:32.399 --> 00:07:37.711 Ephesians four is worth getting higher in front of us and talking about, from called chosen. 00:07:37.711 --> 00:07:49.870 And uh, again, just want to remind you these last, these end days are going to be busy days and God is positioning people for the end time, harvest. 00:07:49.870 --> 00:07:52.406 Uh, verse one. 00:07:52.406 --> 00:08:12.744 I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that you walk worthy of the vocation wherewith you are called, with all lowliness and uh, in meekness, with long suffering for bearing one another in love, uh, endeavoring to keep the unity of the spirit and the bond of peace. 00:08:12.744 --> 00:08:21.120 So here we see that that Jesus, uh is encouraging people to walk worthy. 00:08:21.120 --> 00:08:47.802 You see, you have to be, you have to be walk worthy of the calling and uh, you know, if you're going with God and stay in the spirit and stay renewing your mind to the word of God and uh, all the things we were talking about on Sunday, the marks of a spiritual mature maturity, uh, and you, and you do those things faithfully, you're going to know what specific thing God is calling you to do and then you'll obey. 00:08:47.842 --> 00:08:53.288 That Doesn't matter whether you're a preacher, it doesn't matter if you don't have a pulpit to stand. 00:08:53.288 --> 00:08:55.889 I'm not even talking Acts, where we read about Paul and Barnabas, they were commissioned, they were sent out, they were chosen for the work that they had been previously called to. 00:09:12.596 --> 00:09:17.441 See, you have the calling, and then people don't know. 00:09:17.441 --> 00:09:22.934 But there's a qualification process that everybody has to go through. 00:09:22.934 --> 00:09:29.679 I don't care who you 00:10:23.686 For we see your calling brethren. 00:10:23.686 --> 00:10:24.048 How that. 00:10:24.048 --> 00:10:29.164 Not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble are called. 00:10:29.164 --> 00:10:33.458 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise. 00:10:33.458 --> 00:10:36.039 I think that's what he did when he called me. 00:10:36.039 --> 00:10:52.822 He the weak things of the world to confound the things that are mighty, the base things of the world that are despised at God chosen, yeah, and things which are not to put to naught, the 00:11:26.053 --> 00:11:37.018 I mean he was dying of tuberculosis when God called him, and God saved him and healed him and set him in a ministry that was so powerful. 00:11:37.018 --> 00:11:38.743 We could go on and on. 00:11:40.715 --> 00:11:55.595 God calls and installs unlikely prospects, and so I think one of my favorite examples of this is David, and I'm not going to read 1 Samuel, 16 through one through 13,. 00:11:55.595 --> 00:12:05.365 But I'll just give you the reference, because everything I'm going to say is written there, the testimony of how he was called. 00:12:05.365 --> 00:12:10.958 But, david, you know titles and pedigrees, I mean they don't mean anything. 00:12:10.958 --> 00:12:19.221 But God told you, know, he told Jesse, I mean, excuse me, Samuel, the prophet Samuel. 00:12:19.221 --> 00:12:22.794 And the prophet Samuel was a fearsome looking man. 00:12:22.794 --> 00:12:32.183 He had a huge beard, lots of hair, and when he came to town everybody hid because he was so severe and so he was something. 00:12:34.700 --> 00:12:40.240 And he was weeping in mourning over Saul, because Saul had been rejected by God. 00:12:40.240 --> 00:12:41.379 Saul, god. if you read your Bible this way, but I had a question for the Lord what did you see in David that made you select him? 00:16:01.258 --> 00:16:03.932 I mean, what's the big deal? 00:16:03.932 --> 00:16:08.274 What made him qualified to be chosen? 00:16:08.274 --> 00:16:14.065 And so I have three things here tonight for you that I think are just important. 00:16:14.065 --> 00:16:18.490 It kind of goes with a message I'd preach Sunday morning marks of spiritual maturity. 00:16:18.490 --> 00:16:21.847 This is similar to that, only it's different. 00:16:21.847 --> 00:16:24.594 It just has to do with your personal qualities. 00:16:24.644 --> 00:16:29.437 The first one on my list is that David had a heart of worship. 00:16:29.437 --> 00:16:41.613 If we're going to be placed into our final end-time ministries and doing what we're really prepared to do, we don't know that we're prepared, but we are prepared. 00:16:41.613 --> 00:16:46.764 You know, david didn't see himself as prepared, but he became prepared over a period of years. 00:16:46.764 --> 00:16:51.610 After this happened, he had a heart of worship. 00:16:51.610 --> 00:17:00.243 You know, jesus told the woman at the well in John 4.23, god seeks those who will worship him and spirit. 00:17:00.243 --> 00:17:07.134 In truth, I mean, you know what, if you want to be in demand, be a worshiper, because you'll be in God's, he will look for you. 00:17:07.134 --> 00:17:08.469 He is seeking you. 00:17:08.469 --> 00:17:25.634 And over in 1 Samuel 16.23, whenever David would play the harp, they found out that the demon powers that were reflecting King Saul would leave him and he would get peace. 00:17:25.634 --> 00:17:30.431 That was the only way he'd have peace is when he had David there playing the harp and worshiping God. 00:17:30.431 --> 00:17:34.855 And so you know, we like to thank God. 00:17:34.944 --> 00:17:43.291 The book of Psalms is all about what God has done, praising Him for what he's done, but worship we worship Him for who he is. 00:17:43.291 --> 00:17:46.653 It's the highest form of prayer. 00:17:46.653 --> 00:17:54.994 It's when we get to where we just are, so taken by our Father God, and we 00:18:11.910 A heart of humility 1 Peter, 5.5,. 00:18:12.009 --> 00:18:14.868 God resists the proud, but he gives grace to the humble. 00:18:14.868 --> 00:18:19.832 He gives grace, he gives power, he gives grace to the humble. 00:18:19.832 --> 00:18:22.314 When you're humble, god can work for you. 00:18:22.314 --> 00:18:23.911 When you're proud, he resists you. 00:18:23.911 --> 00:18:37.567 And so, when you read the story of David, he refused to kill Saul with his own hands, even though he had two different opportunities to do so twice. 00:18:37.567 --> 00:18:42.492 Now I'm not saying God tested him, but I am saying that he passed the test. 00:18:42.492 --> 00:18:51.277 You know, if he had picked up and killed God's man while he's still technically the king, he would have been taking everything into his own hands. 00:18:51.277 --> 00:18:59.634 That wouldn't have been humility, it would have been pride, and he could have fallen off of the but because he was a worshiper. the Holy Ghost said you know, separate me David for the work where unto I have called him, cause the day that that saw, died in battle. 00:21:57.077 --> 00:22:02.459 That was the day that God elevated, and it was by somebody else's hand, it wasn't his hand. 00:22:02.459 --> 00:22:10.700 That was the day that David was elevated to be king over Judah first, and then, seven years later, he
