Testament, that's right, and so yeah and so there's underlying. 00:02:25.320 --> 00:02:27.105 You know, if you read his letters. 00:02:27.105 --> 00:02:43.862 There's themes in his letters yes, the love for fellow believers, but also there's warnings in those letters and correction, and we have to take heed to those warnings and so In. 00:02:43.862 --> 00:02:47.292 So the title of our message tonight is anxious for nothing. 00:02:47.292 --> 00:02:50.658 Anxious for nothing, and so God doesn't. 00:02:50.658 --> 00:02:54.433 In Philippians it talks about be anxious for nothing, and so we'll you can turn to 1st Timothy 4, 1 and 2 and I'm gonna read it out of the New King James and then Jay's gonna read it out of the passion translation. 00:03:06.848 --> 00:03:23.500 Now the spirit expressly says that in latter time some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies and hypocrisy, having their own conscience Seared with a hot iron. 00:03:23.500 --> 00:03:25.885 You're gonna read that in the passion. 00:03:25.906 --> 00:03:26.426 Translation. 00:03:26.426 --> 00:03:43.105 It says the Holy Spirit has explicitly revealed at the end of this age, many will depart from the true faith, one after another, devoting themselves to spirits of deception and following demon-inspired revelations and theories. 00:03:43.105 --> 00:03:48.740 Hippocritical liars will deceive many and their consciences won't even bother them at all. 00:03:48.740 --> 00:03:51.256 And I'm telling you so. 00:03:51.256 --> 00:03:54.329 So this is Paul warning Timothy. 00:03:54.329 --> 00:04:15.931 But I'm telling you, paul wasn't the only one that warned us of false teaching and in the in the last days and how many of you realize if Paul was, was Helping Timothy not fall pray to false teaching 2000 years ago and was calling those the last days that we're really living in the last days. 00:04:15.931 --> 00:04:25.913 And so I Was reading in I believe it was 2nd John We've read in Jude, we've read in in in 1st and 2nd Peter. 00:04:26.940 --> 00:04:36.130 Pretty much almost every book in the New Testament warns us of false teaching and false doctrine in the last days. 00:04:36.130 --> 00:04:50.584 And so Our message tonight being anxious for nothing, we need to set ourselves up to be bulletproof when we're listening to the Word and stay strong, standing firm on our foundation of the Word, amen. 00:04:50.584 --> 00:04:58.519 And we're grateful for our dad, pastor John Griner, who teaches us a strong foundation that we can stand on. 00:04:58.519 --> 00:05:08.519 But I'm telling you maybe you joined us, maybe you're a member of another church, or maybe you've just fallen away from the foundation that got you saved. 00:05:08.519 --> 00:05:14.098 I mean, the Word of faith is so powerful and we're sticking with it. 00:05:14.098 --> 00:05:20.826 We're sticking to it and we're not wavering, from the right and to the wrong, and then the ability to choose correctly. 00:05:30.163 --> 00:05:37.283 And then seered, cauterized, you know, to burn the flesh to stop bleeding. 00:05:37.283 --> 00:05:43.425 And so when you put those two together, describe someone's inner witness as being calloused and hardened. 00:05:43.425 --> 00:05:57.721 And how many of you all know like, that doesn't just happen overnight, that happens by what you do on the daily, what you do every day, what your habits are, if you read the Word, if you go to God first. 00:05:57.721 --> 00:06:00.661 So it doesn't happen overnight. 00:06:00.661 --> 00:06:03.644 And so you might say, oh well, that can never happen to me. 00:06:04.396 --> 00:06:07.105 I've been a Christian my whole lot, 20, 30 years. 00:06:07.105 --> 00:06:08.821 No, that is who he is talking about. 00:06:08.821 --> 00:06:10.459 He's not talking about the new believer. 00:06:10.459 --> 00:06:16.084 He's like, oh, you can come to a place where, like, oh, I know the Word and I'm OK and you get comfortable. 00:06:16.084 --> 00:06:18.624 But no, we should always be on fire for God. 00:06:18.624 --> 00:06:28.081 And if Paul was telling Timothy hey, heed these things, like you have to make sure that you don't depart from the true faith. 00:06:28.081 --> 00:06:32.374 And so if there's a true faith, that then there must be a false faith. 00:06:32.415 --> 00:06:32.755 That's right. 00:06:32.755 --> 00:06:35.399 A counterfeit, a counterfeit, counterfeit faith. 00:06:35.759 --> 00:06:42.583 Right and so I wanted to read and that was good in the Passion Translation, this last day's survival guide by Rick Renner. 00:06:42.583 --> 00:06:49.521 He talks about well beforehand in First Timothy 3 about a rubber bait mine. 00:06:49.521 --> 00:06:55.584 But here I just want to read a couple of paragraphs Mines that have become corrupted over a period of time. 00:06:55.584 --> 00:07:02.425 But Paul said these individuals will have a rubber bait mine concerning the faith in Second Timothy 3.8. 00:07:02.425 --> 00:07:06.360 That means their minds will no longer think correctly when it comes to the faith. 00:07:06.360 --> 00:07:14.627 But wait, because the phrase the faith includes a definite article that is not talking about raw faith such as faith for miracles. 00:07:14.627 --> 00:07:26.738 The definite article in the Greek text tells us that the phrase the faith instead refers to the long held time, testing teaching of scripture or the non-negotiable doctrines and tenets of the Christian faith. 00:07:27.675 --> 00:07:33.442 First Timothy 4.1 is another important text where the Holy Spirit spoke of the future. 00:07:33.442 --> 00:07:44.346 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly that in the latter time some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. 00:07:44.346 --> 00:07:55.843 In this verse the Holy Spirit categorically forecasts that in the conclusion of the last day, a breeding ground for error will fester not only in the secular world but also within the church. 00:07:55.843 --> 00:07:58.238 And, as we discussed earlier. 00:07:58.238 --> 00:08:01.187 We are seeing this even in this day. 00:08:01.187 --> 00:08:09.125 Already in the Christian world are many spiritual leaders who seek a dangerous truce with the world under the guise of inclusiveness and compromise. 00:08:09.125 --> 00:08:25.202 These leaders may have once held strong doctrinal positions, but over time they began to shape their beliefs to meld with the changing moral climate of society and in the process they produced a gospel message very different from the one presented in the Bible. 00:08:25.202 --> 00:08:34.966 Along the way, they embraced compromising positions and allowed their thoughts to be affected with the errant mindsets that promote such positions. 00:08:34.966 --> 00:08:43.522 Their mindsets become progressively more corrupted until they actually became to believe and embrace the nonsense they promoted. 00:08:44.174 --> 00:08:58.000 This is a destructive track that much of the church is on, as man's natural reasoning strives to reach a generation who is unfamiliar with the Bible and considers the dictates of the word restrictive and out of date. 00:08:58.000 --> 00:09:02.500 Regrettably, we must call this what it is a departure from Scripture. 00:09:02.500 --> 00:09:04.640 So I thought that was really good. 00:09:04.640 --> 00:09:08.639 I mean, it's basically what it is it's a departure from Scripture. 00:09:08.639 --> 00:09:16.719 Nothing good comes from anything when you depart from the Scripture, whatever area in life. 00:09:16.719 --> 00:09:22.120 The Scripture, the Word of God, is our foundation from the very beginning. 00:09:22.120 --> 00:10:08.153 A lot of other churches they're asleep to what God is doing in these last days, and it really is because they've allowed their hearts to become seared and also just They've adjusted their live by different standards. 00:11:07.090 --> 00:11:16.828 As I've warned you many times and I weep as I write these words they are enemies of the cross, of the anointed one, and doom awaits them. 00:11:16.828 --> 00:11:20.669 Their God has possessed them and made them mute. 00:11:20.669 --> 00:11:25.990 Their boast is in their shameful lifestyles and their minds are in the dirt. 00:11:26.831 --> 00:11:27.373 That's good. 00:11:27.373 --> 00:11:31.409 So yeah, in the New King James their mind is on earthly things. 00:11:31.409 --> 00:11:35.591 So that's the starting point of all destruction and deception. 00:11:35.591 --> 00:11:47.548 When your mind is on earthly things, so when you read up in verse 18, that's how you become, that's how you become people of right. 00:11:47.548 --> 00:11:49.673 Here it says, is enemy of the cross. 00:11:49.673 --> 00:12:02.965 And so they may blatantly not say, oh, I'm going to become an enemy of the cross, but if you love the earthly things more than the spiritual things, by default you become an enemy of the cross. 00:12:02.965 --> 00:12:04.745 That's just, that's the word of God. 00:12:04.745 --> 00:12:06.947 That's not the intellect and like or justification Well, if they didn't do this and I wouldn't be this, or I wouldn't be anxious, or I wouldn't be worried if they didn't put me in this situation. 00:12:27.148 --> 00:12:28.029 Well, no it's. 00:12:28.029 --> 00:12:34.111 You know, salvation is individual and the decisions we make are not because of somebody else. 00:12:34.111 --> 00:12:39.212 We get to choose what we do every day in life. 00:12:39.212 --> 00:12:59.508 You know life or death, you know blessing or curse, and so and so in Philippians 4, if you turn over the next chapter in Philippians 4-6, be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. 00:12:59.508 --> 00:13:05.650 And so that word anxious means to I mean us growing up as kids in the you know 80s, when we didn't have cell phones and we could just go out and play and we weren't, I wasn't pulled in different directions. 00:13:40.231 --> 00:13:48.225 I like went with my neighbor and we went and rode bikes and my mom was like, just be home for dinner, and that's when I'd be home for dinner. 00:13:48.225 --> 00:13:56.470 I didn't, she didn't reach me by cell because we had no cell and we played outside in the water hose and and we just, you know, we weren't pulled. 00:13:56.470 --> 00:14:08.452 So now, like raising a fan and I'm getting off topic but raising a family and being married, and like the home unit, like we, everybody is pulled in a different direction. 00:14:08.452 --> 00:14:10.767 And so that's what the enemy wants. 00:14:10.767 --> 00:14:19.928 Like, hey, don't be and here Paul's talented Don't be pulled in different directions, because that's when the enemy comes in and that's where he causes division no longer with us or no longer around us, and I'm not talking about people just necessarily leaving our church, but other people that have started churches that just boom, completely fell away. 00:28:27.114 --> 00:28:55.433 They believed some lie, they got involved in some heresy or started sitting under some teaching, and one pastor in particular just was miraculously healed under the word
