00:00:52.567 --> 00:00:57.222 It comes out of 30 years of preaching and teaching the word of God. 00:00:57.222 --> 00:01:08.668 I've got a veritable treasure chest in my home, in my file cabinets, full of notes and revelations, and I had to chuckle when I saw this title Ingredients for Miracles. 00:01:08.668 --> 00:01:10.286 I just knew it was for you tonight. 00:01:10.286 --> 00:01:16.670 You've got your ingredients for your dressing or for your green bean casserole, or for your pumpkin pie. 00:01:16.670 --> 00:01:17.582 You've got all kinda. 00:01:17.582 --> 00:01:33.149 I mean, it takes a lot of ingredients to cook up thanksgiving, and I wanna talk about the ingredients for cooking up a miracle, praise God, ingredients for miracles, not only for you but for people that you know, people that need a miracle. 00:01:33.739 --> 00:01:42.082 So we're gonna start with Acts, chapter three, and read this wonderful testimony of Peter and John, verse one now. 00:01:42.082 --> 00:02:14.627 Peter and John went up together into the temple in the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour, and a certain lame man from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple, which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked an alm and Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said look on us. 00:02:14.627 --> 00:02:18.665 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something from them. 00:02:18.665 --> 00:02:23.687 Then Peter said silver and gold have I none, but such as I have, give I thee. 00:02:23.687 --> 00:02:29.514 In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk. 00:02:29.514 --> 00:02:47.568 And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength and he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered with them into the temple, walking and leaping and praising God. 00:02:47.568 --> 00:03:04.870 And all the people saw him walking and praising God and they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the beautiful gate of the temple and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him. 00:03:04.870 --> 00:03:10.469 So here we see the first recorded miracle by the church. 00:03:11.580 --> 00:03:21.788 And when you read the next chapter in Acts 4.16, the temple rulers called it a notable miracle. 00:03:21.788 --> 00:03:24.457 And what is a notable miracle? 00:03:24.457 --> 00:03:28.760 Well, one that is widely known and cannot be denied. 00:03:28.760 --> 00:03:33.301 I mean, everybody knew about this person, this lame man. 00:03:33.301 --> 00:03:38.796 He'd been there, he's above 40 years of age and he is an approved beggar. 00:03:38.796 --> 00:03:47.715 You know, he's approved by the temple so that when you give alms, you satisfy your obligation to the Jewish law to help the poor. 00:03:47.715 --> 00:03:55.795 And so everybody knew him, and no one could deny that he was lame, no one could deny that he went walking, leaping, praising God, into the temple. 00:03:55.795 --> 00:03:59.076 So he said that a notable miracle has occurred. 00:03:59.076 --> 00:04:01.376 You know we cannot speak against it. 00:04:01.376 --> 00:04:06.161 And so you keep reading about this thing. 00:04:06.411 --> 00:04:15.676 And years ago, when I got this message, when God gave it to me to give to you, it came from just meditating on the story, meditating, putting myself there. 00:04:15.676 --> 00:04:17.997 Just what, if I was Peter? 00:04:17.997 --> 00:04:19.012 What would I? 00:04:19.012 --> 00:04:20.738 How would I go through this? 00:04:20.738 --> 00:04:21.370 What would I? 00:04:21.370 --> 00:04:22.776 What would I experience? 00:04:22.776 --> 00:04:26.053 And the first thing I noticed that they didn't pray for him. 00:04:26.053 --> 00:04:32.353 They didn't pray, he just spoke in the name of Jesus Christ, of Nazareth, rise up and walk. 00:04:32.353 --> 00:04:35.014 So there was no prayer. 00:04:36.490 --> 00:04:43.480 Number two both of them, peter and John, fastened their eyes upon him. 00:04:43.480 --> 00:04:45.617 Now, they'd seen him many times. 00:04:45.617 --> 00:04:47.956 He's been out there for years. 00:04:47.956 --> 00:04:50.552 He's not a stranger, no one's. 00:04:50.552 --> 00:04:52.177 Oh, I never saw him. 00:04:52.177 --> 00:04:53.514 No, he's been there for years. 00:04:53.514 --> 00:04:57.696 They've seen him, but this day they saw him in a different light. 00:04:57.696 --> 00:04:59.656 They saw him with a compassion. 00:04:59.656 --> 00:05:04.197 They saw him with a great desire not to see him that way ever again. 00:05:04.350 --> 00:05:07.720 They had, they were, they were ingredients. 00:05:07.720 --> 00:05:18.512 The ingredients had been cooked inside of them by the Holy Ghost and a miracle cake was brought and served this man. 00:05:18.512 --> 00:05:19.853 And. 00:05:19.853 --> 00:05:25.194 But this man's faith was not mentioned. 00:05:25.194 --> 00:05:26.634 There's nothing to do with his faith. 00:05:26.634 --> 00:05:29.425 In fact, really, he would expect him to get some money from him. 00:05:29.425 --> 00:05:37.435 And Peter had to clarify we're not here to give you money, we're here to give you something worth more than money Give you your healing. 00:05:37.435 --> 00:05:38.841 I mean you give your life back. 00:05:40.776 --> 00:05:49.346 And then also in Acts, chapter four, it says when the temple rulers saw the boldness of Peter and John. 00:05:49.346 --> 00:06:00.408 So Peter and John had this boldness, and you know, when you've got ingredients for a miracle, part of that recipe for the miracle is boldness. 00:06:00.408 --> 00:06:04.074 And they noted that they had been with Jesus. 00:06:04.074 --> 00:06:07.512 If we're gonna have miracles, we're gonna have to hang out with Jesus. 00:06:07.512 --> 00:06:07.894 How do we do that? 00:06:07.894 --> 00:06:08.769 We hang out with the Word. 00:06:08.769 --> 00:06:11.184 Jesus is the Word. 00:06:11.184 --> 00:06:15.327 And so, and then this man. 00:06:15.327 --> 00:06:18.334 What I noticed is he got healed first, and then he got saved. 00:06:18.334 --> 00:06:21.685 He went, I mean, his life was changed. 00:06:21.685 --> 00:06:25.252 He didn't just get healed and that was it got what he wanted. 00:06:25.252 --> 00:06:26.278 No, he got saved. 00:06:27.875 --> 00:06:43.682 So, and as I was meditating on these verses, I got to thinking about what was different about Peter and John, and the thing that you have to know about them is they had seen many miracles, they had been participants in miracles. 00:06:43.682 --> 00:06:55.242 They themselves had miracles when they were sent out by Jesus, with two by two and two, and also when they were sent out among the 70, and they came back and gave report to Jesus. 00:06:55.242 --> 00:06:58.785 Jesus, even the demons are subject unto us in Thy name. 00:06:58.785 --> 00:07:08.567 I mean, they were told to go out and heal the sick, open blind eyes, cleanse the lepers, Amen. 00:07:08.567 --> 00:07:09.653 So they did that. 00:07:09.653 --> 00:07:13.615 They had seen miracles, and not only their own ministry. 00:07:13.615 --> 00:07:28.095 But they had seen and been eyewitnesses of many miracles that Jesus had in his miracle ministry, and the Bible is only a partial record of those miracles. 00:07:28.095 --> 00:07:32.706 You know, the book of John says there were many more miracles that were done. 00:07:32.706 --> 00:07:36.963 If we wrote about all of them, the world itself couldn't contain the books. 00:07:37.396 --> 00:07:39.975 So you think about somebody that's seen a lot. 00:07:39.975 --> 00:07:47.545 I'm telling you, peter and John had seen a lot, and then they had heard a lot. 00:07:47.545 --> 00:07:57.742 First of all, they heard what Jesus said, you know, in John 14, he said the works that I do shall you do also, and greater works than they shall you do. 00:07:57.742 --> 00:08:08.295 They heard Him say that these signs shall follow them that believe, and in my name they shall lay hands on the sick and they'll recover, and in my name they'll cast out demons. 00:08:08.295 --> 00:08:10.283 So they heard that. 00:08:10.283 --> 00:08:21.884 And they heard Jesus when he said, right before he was ascended into heaven, he said in Acts 1-8, you shall receive power after that. 00:08:21.884 --> 00:08:29.380 The Holy Ghost has come upon you and you shall be my witnesses, both in Jerusalem and in Judea and Samaria and the uttermost parts of the earth. 00:08:29.995 --> 00:08:38.174 So they heard a lot, and so what you see and what you hear, then that causes you to know something. 00:08:38.174 --> 00:08:45.953 I mean, they knew a lot, they had these ingredients, they saw, they heard, they knew and they had that boldness. 00:08:45.953 --> 00:08:50.934 They just knew that God was going to back them up if they spoke in the name of Jesus. 00:08:50.934 --> 00:08:59.595 They didn't have to, you know, they just put all of their own personal feelings aside about it, any kind of doubts that the devil would try to bring their mind. 00:08:59.595 --> 00:09:07.241 I mean, he just you know, when that man, that lame man, didn't move fast enough, peter reached down and picked him up by the hand and there was the. 00:09:07.241 --> 00:09:08.634 The circuit was completed. 00:09:08.634 --> 00:09:11.764 He didn't just lay hands on him, but he did complete the circuit. 00:09:11.764 --> 00:09:18.394 His hand touched the lame man's hand and I believe the power went shot right through his hand and he just got right up. 00:09:18.394 --> 00:09:23.490 He leaped up, he went walking and leaping and praising God into the temple. 00:09:23.490 --> 00:09:26.750 And notice, he went walking and leaping and praising God. 00:09:26.750 --> 00:09:35.211 He wasn't praising Peter, he wasn't praising John, he was praising God, he was praising the one who healed him, hallelujah. 00:09:35.211 --> 00:09:46.990 And so the other thing that I look at is they Peter and John knew that they had something to give him and see, we've got the same thing that Peter and John had. 00:09:46.990 --> 00:09:49.466 We've got the same thing Jesus had. 00:09:49.466 --> 00:09:59.187 We've got the name of Jesus, we've got the power of the Holy Ghost and we've got the word of God, hallelujah, talking about ingredients for miracles. 00:09:59.187 --> 00:10:02.048 You know why you're cooking up Thanksgiving Dayless. 00:10:02.048 --> 00:10:08.328 I just want you to think about all the good things that God has inside of you to share with others. 00:10:10.059 --> 00:10:16.168 In Hebrews 11, 11, it talks about Sarah, and let's turn over there real fast. 00:10:16.168 --> 00:10:23.288 Hebrews 11, 11, the hall of fame of faith. 00:10:23.288 --> 00:10:25.702 It's what I call it. 00:10:25.702 --> 00:10:27.623 It says through faith. 00:10:27.623 --> 00:10:35.644 Also, sarah herself received strength to conceive seed and was delivered of a child when she was past age. 00:10:35.644 --> 00:10:43.953 Because, because she judged him faithful, who had promised. 00:10:43.953 --> 00:10:48.990 So one version of that verse is through an act of faith. 00:10:48.990 --> 00:10:50.767 All of these are through an act of faith. 00:10:50.767 --> 00:10:52.046 See, faith is an action. 00:10:52.046 --> 00:10:55.269 Faith is acting like the Bible is true. 00:10:55.269 --> 00:11:03.413 Faith is acting like the word is true, and so she had judged God faithful, who promised. 00:11:03.413 --> 00:11:06.827 And God and his word are one. 00:11:06.827 --> 00:11:10.785 So when you judge God faithful, you judge the word faithful. 00:11:10.785 --> 00:11:13.865 The word, the word is faithful. 00:11:13.865 --> 00:11:16.264 The word is faithful. 00:11:16.264 --> 00:11:22.759 It her own eyes. 00:11:40.369 --> 00:11:47.068 She saw how she was protected from the king when she was taken into his harem. 00:11:47.068 --> 00:11:49.447 I mean she was in danger. 00:11:49.447 --> 00:11:55.943 She saw how her and Abraham are blessed with cattle, silver and gold. 00:11:55.943 --> 00:11:58.570 They were very, very rich. 00:11:58.570 --> 00:12:03.345 She saw how God was so faithful all her life. 00:12:03.345 --> 00:12:06.623 And then she heard and you know that's direct. 00:12:06.623 --> 00:12:08.802 I mean what you see is direct. 00:12:08.802 --> 00:12:11.062 I mean it's direct God showing you something. 00:12:11.062 --> 00:12:15.140 But then, on the other hand, a lot of times we know things because what other people say. 00:12:15.774 --> 00:12:29.705 She heard Abraham testify how God allowed him to go and conquer the five kings of Sodom and bring a lot stuff back to him and how God had talked to him about his descendants. 00:12:29.705 --> 00:12:31.535 Oh, don't be discouraged, sarah. 00:12:31.535 --> 00:12:34.043 You know Sarah was her name at that time. 00:12:34.043 --> 00:12:35.418 You know, look at the dust. 00:12:35.418 --> 00:12:38.559 We're gonna have the descendants greater than the dust of the earth. 00:12:38.559 --> 00:12:39.524 That's what God told me. 00:12:39.524 --> 00:12:41.441 God told me look at the stars. 00:12:41.441 --> 00:12:46.883 We're gonna have descendants greater than the number of stars, greater than the sand on the sea shore. 00:12:46.883 --> 00:12:49.264 You know he's encouraging his wife all along. 00:12:49.355 --> 00:12:53.346 She heard the testimony indirectly. 00:12:53.346 --> 00:12:54.498 She knew about God. 00:12:54.498 --> 00:13:01.841 It can promises, and what she saw and what she heard made her know that she could depend on God. 00:13:01.841 --> 00:13:12.480 And I mean, 90 days after she was renamed Sarah, which means princess, mother of all living then she conceived. 00:13:12.480 --> 00:13:16.360 There had to be an act of faith and she and Abraham both had to. 00:13:16.360 --> 00:13:25.264 They had the ingredients for that miracle and they cooked that cake together and Isaac was born the time that God told him. 00:13:25.264 --> 00:13:29.302 About that time, a year from now, you're gonna embrace a son and that's exactly what happened. 00:13:29.302 --> 00:13:36.282 And she had the ingredients of that miracle because what she had seen and heard and knew. 00:13:37.794 --> 00:13:55.523 So I just gonna go over these ingredients I've already mentioned them a couple of times what you've seen, what you've heard and what you know, that's the ingredients that we have, the ingredients for miracles for you and the ingredients for miracles for a lost world. 00:13:55.523 --> Lakewood, where I would be up on the platform getting ready to close the services in prayer and he always had me up there while he was doing the altar call and I got to watch hundreds of people every service. 00:15:03.466 --> 00:15:09.423 And so over all those years, eight years of doing that job, I don't know how many thousand people I saw come to Jesus. 00:15:09.423 --> 00:15:14.621 They came down that aisle, they stood in front of him, they raised their hand, they said the sinner's prayer. 00:15:14.621 --> 00:15:19.441 And what a privilege, man. 00:15:19.500 --> 00:15:20.283 I've seen
