the prophet is speaking for God. 00:01:07.691 --> 00:01:26.831 And he's saying in verse 10, for as the rain cometh down from heaven and the snow and returns not fither but water at the earth and make it bring forth in bud, and that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my Word be that goeth forth out of my mouth. 00:01:26.831 --> 00:01:39.091 It shall not return unto me, void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing where too, I sent it. 00:01:39.091 --> 00:02:00.105 And so, and then in Jeremiah, just a few pages over to the right Jeremiah chapter, one another prophet of God says this then said the Lord unto me, thou hast well seen, for I will hasten my Word to perform it. 00:02:00.105 --> 00:02:07.070 Another version says I will hasten, I will watch over my Word to make it come to pass. 00:02:07.070 --> 00:02:14.469 I watch over my Word to carry it out, to put it into effect, to do it. 00:02:14.469 --> 00:02:20.019 And so tonight I wanted to talk about sending the Word. 00:02:20.019 --> 00:02:26.506 That's exactly what God said he sends the Word, and when he sends the Word, it accomplishes something. 00:02:26.506 --> 00:02:28.368 It doesn't come back, void. 00:02:28.368 --> 00:02:33.560 It doesn't come back and say, oh, I know you sent us to do this, but we didn't get it done. 00:02:33.560 --> 00:02:39.286 No, the Word will get the job done, and you know back. 00:02:39.286 --> 00:02:49.707 It's been now 18 years ago, almost 18 years ago, when we were pouring the slab on this building and God spoke to me. 00:02:49.747 --> 00:02:56.653 I went away to pray December of 2003, and we were looking forward to moving in. 00:02:56.653 --> 00:03:08.328 We finished by May of 04, moved into this building, phase One, and I went away to Galveston and the Lord spoke something very strange to me at the time. 00:03:08.328 --> 00:03:10.007 He said there's a dearth of the Word. 00:03:10.007 --> 00:03:15.368 And I knew it was God speaking to me, but I didn't understand what he was saying. 00:03:15.368 --> 00:03:17.347 I said, lord, I don't understand that. 00:03:17.347 --> 00:03:19.164 The word dearth means famine. 00:03:19.164 --> 00:03:20.489 It's an Old Testament word. 00:03:20.489 --> 00:03:24.087 How could there be a famine of the Word? 00:03:24.087 --> 00:03:31.388 There's more churches existing today than ever before and not all of them are good churches, but some of them, you know, some of them are certainly like ours. 00:03:31.479 --> 00:03:32.304 It preached the Word. 00:03:32.304 --> 00:03:34.927 How can there be a dearth of the Word? 00:03:34.927 --> 00:03:40.106 And he just simply said your children don't know what you knew, what you know. 00:03:40.106 --> 00:03:45.405 And of course I knew he wasn't talking about my personal children, he was talking about the next generation. 00:03:45.405 --> 00:04:00.807 And of course we have learned at that over the last many years that there is a huge gap in revelation about what the Word means, what it says, whether it's really God's Word is true. 00:04:00.807 --> 00:04:25.072 I mean there's a huge gap and it's because there are so many contrary voices, so much deception, and so when we look at that, over the years I've really meditated on that statement because I knew the Lord had spoken it to me for me to do my part and I took the responsibility for being more direct about what I preach. 00:04:26.220 --> 00:04:29.985 And one of the times right after that, he said you know you need to preach more what you take for granted. 00:04:29.985 --> 00:04:43.949 And you know, sometimes preachers want to preach something fancy, something new, something exciting, when really what we need to do is drill down what the Word says and what we take for granted is knowledge. 00:04:43.949 --> 00:04:49.428 A lot of people haven't even heard it the first time, and so God delivered me from the fear of repetition. 00:04:49.428 --> 00:04:58.827 I've preached this Word many times, this same exact message many times, but it is worth listening, because the Word is both seed and water. 00:04:58.827 --> 00:05:04.264 If you've never heard this approach to the Word before, then it's seed. 00:05:04.264 --> 00:05:08.266 If you've heard it, then it's water for the faith that you already have. 00:05:09.339 --> 00:05:23.790 But I came to realize it's not just on the preaching side that there's a dearth of the Word, but there is a dearth of the Word on the sowing side, or the speaking side, or we could say the sending side. 00:05:23.790 --> 00:05:28.524 A lot of believers don't just send the Word the way God does. 00:05:28.524 --> 00:05:32.362 You know, god never panics, god never. 00:05:32.362 --> 00:05:33.165 You know. 00:05:33.165 --> 00:05:47.247 He's just not at a loss and we're not God, but we're in the God class of being, and so God's Word in our mouth will accomplish what we say, just the same way as God's Word in His mouth accomplishes what he pleases. 00:05:48.560 --> 00:05:55.240 And so, a couple of years after that Word that I got, I went. 00:05:55.240 --> 00:06:07.560 I heard the brother of Oral Roberts and I heard that he had had a corrective Word for the body of Christ and it was called the wake up call, and I'd never, ever heard him correct the church like that. 00:06:07.560 --> 00:06:10.805 He's always been a very encouraging, uplifting type of preacher. 00:06:10.805 --> 00:06:20.625 God's gonna do something good for you today I mean, that was his hallmark and for him to say some of the things he would say it about the church. 00:06:20.625 --> 00:06:28.250 And one of the things that he said was that there is a wasting of power in the church. 00:06:28.250 --> 00:06:34.403 Very powerful statement, and I lined that up with the dearth of the Word and I could see it very. 00:06:34.403 --> 00:06:56.250 I mean, I absolutely knew that that was a confirmation of what I'd heard a couple of years before that, and what a waste it is for us to have this power in our mouth, that God has delivered up to us His Word on every subject we need to have it on so that we too can send the Word and get results. 00:06:58.220 --> 00:07:00.569 So many times, I think we, you know, want to pray. 00:07:00.569 --> 00:07:01.723 We gotta beg God. 00:07:01.723 --> 00:07:07.208 Let's ask God to do this, let's ask God to do that when we have the power to send the Word. 00:07:07.208 --> 00:07:10.584 You know, we send letters, we send emails, we send text messages. 00:07:10.584 --> 00:07:17.728 Maybe we need to learn how to send the Word more consistently, and there's always a time for prayer. 00:07:17.728 --> 00:07:24.447 But prayer is more about communing with God rather than begging God to change things. 00:07:24.447 --> 00:07:26.107 Let's change things with the Word. 00:07:26.107 --> 00:07:30.290 Let's send the Word to our circumstances. 00:07:32.560 --> 00:07:33.985 So here in Isaiah 55, god sends the Word. 00:07:33.985 --> 00:07:38.971 He, god, changes and creates by sending the Word. 00:07:38.971 --> 00:07:47.310 You know, anytime God wants to change a man or a woman, he will send the Word to them to change what they say. 00:07:47.310 --> 00:07:56.485 And when he can get a man or a woman on the earth to change what they say and say the same thing as he's saying, in other words, to confess the Word. 00:07:56.485 --> 00:07:59.848 So my greatest example, I think, of that is Abraham. 00:08:00.079 --> 00:08:11.086 Abraham was first Abram, but God changed his name, you know, when he's 99 years old, and said now you're no longer Abram, you're Abraham, the father of many nations. 00:08:11.086 --> 00:08:12.108 I have made thee. 00:08:12.108 --> 00:08:20.730 And so as soon as Abraham and Sarah started identifying with their new names and started speaking their new names. 00:08:20.730 --> 00:08:33.504 I mean, they sent the Word to their bodies, they sent the Word to their minds and they conceived a child in their old age and that child's name was, you know, he became Israel. 00:08:33.504 --> 00:08:38.307 I mean, you know, praise God, isaac, and so Isaac means laughter. 00:08:38.307 --> 00:08:48.480 So we absolutely his Word will not come back to him void. 00:08:48.480 --> 00:08:53.424 Well, if it won't come back to him void, it then won't come back to you void. 00:08:53.424 --> 00:08:57.610 You know the old Elvis song that he sang back in fifties. 00:08:57.610 --> 00:08:57.921 You know. 00:08:57.921 --> 00:09:02.841 Return to sender address unknown, you know. 00:09:02.841 --> 00:09:08.667 So you know it's I don't know, we don't see that very much anymore again, because people don't send letters very often. 00:09:08.667 --> 00:09:12.527 But if you have the wrong address, you know there's nobody at that address. 00:09:12.527 --> 00:09:18.546 You'll get that letter back, you know, and it says return to sender on there because they couldn't deliver your mail. 00:09:19.600 --> 00:09:21.246 Well, it never happens with God's Word. 00:09:21.246 --> 00:09:27.671 When you send God's Word with faith in your heart and you speak it forth, it accomplishes what you please. 00:09:27.671 --> 00:09:33.508 It never comes back and says, oh, too late, the Word just isn't gonna work in this circumstance. 00:09:33.508 --> 00:09:36.288 No, the Word always works in every circumstance. 00:09:36.288 --> 00:09:47.087 So it accomplishes what he pleases, then it accomplishes what we please, it prospers in the situation, the person, our thing to which it is sent. 00:09:47.087 --> 00:09:54.919 It makes all the difference and the Bible says in Jeremiah that God himself watches over his Word. 00:09:54.919 --> 00:09:56.460 You know the minute we send it. 00:09:57.125 --> 00:10:03.559 It's not like we're all by ourself when we send the Word to a situation, to a circumstance. 00:10:03.559 --> 00:10:12.519 You know, brother Roberts had that Word for the church that there's a wasting of power in the church. 00:10:12.519 --> 00:10:16.779 When I heard that I knew it was confirmation of that dearth of the Word. 00:10:16.779 --> 00:10:31.440 I mean how much power has been lost because the church has failed to value God's Word and to use it as power against the circumstances they face, whether it's health or finances or whatever. 00:10:31.440 --> 00:10:33.485 What a wasting of power. 00:10:33.485 --> 00:10:47.360 When God has given us his Word to send to the situations that we have in front of us, it's just like when it's God's Word in his mouth accomplishes what he pleases, it prospers in the thing that he sends it to. 00:10:47.360 --> 00:10:48.655 It's the same with us. 00:10:48.655 --> 00:10:56.533 It accomplishes what we please, it prospers and changes the thing to which we send it. 00:10:56.533 --> 00:11:07.890 And so when we begin to realize that the power of the Word, there's a gaining, then a gaining of power back in the church that the church dearly needs right now. 00:11:08.788 --> 00:11:13.744 I'm not saying there's not a time to pray, I mean, but our idea of prayer needs to be transformed, though. 00:11:13.744 --> 00:11:18.320 So many believers just pray and beg God to do things he's already done. 00:11:18.320 --> 00:11:19.899 Oh God, please heal me. 00:11:19.899 --> 00:11:22.039 Oh God, help me with my finances. 00:11:22.039 --> 00:11:23.567 Well, god's already. 00:11:23.567 --> 00:11:26.984 He's already redeemed you from poverty and lack. 00:11:26.984 --> 00:11:29.471 He's already redeemed you from sickness and disease. 00:11:29.471 --> 00:11:39.153 So we're praying about things that we ought to be sending the Word to those circumstances, instead of praying about them and begging God to do something he's already done. 00:11:39.153 --> 00:11:40.379 So there, what is that? 00:11:40.379 --> 00:11:42.179 That's a wasting of power. 00:11:42.179 --> 00:11:47.980 And so, you know, back along that period of time, god began to encourage me. 00:11:47.980 --> 00:11:51.488 See, he said you know you need to preach the things you take for granted. 00:11:51.488 --> 00:11:52.860 Preach and teach those things. 00:11:52.860 --> 00:12:00.205 Preach and teach them over and over, because you have new people that are coming into more understanding of the Word and they need to hear what you're saying. 00:12:00.205 --> 00:12:03.399 And so God delivered me from the fear of repetition. 00:12:03.399 --> yourself when you send the word out there. 00:12:18.759 --> 00:12:26.602 God himself watches over that word until it gets to the destination and then he watches it change that situation. 00:12:26.602 he told the disciples. 00:13:01.309 --> 00:13:07.474 So God sent Jesus the word, and how many of you know he made a big difference in all our lives. 00:13:07.474 --> 00:13:08.594 I'm so glad. chapter three, the apostle James. 00:13:28.370 --> 00:13:29.929 You know he was a little late to the party. 00:13:29.929 --> 00:13:36.495 You know he's the Lord's brother and he wasn't an early adopter, he of Jesus. 00:13:36.495 --> 00:13:39.974 At first he doubted Jesus, like the rest of the family. 00:13:39.974 --> 00:13:55.206 But he eventually came around and in James chapter three, in fact, he was the head of the church at Jerusalem, and so he, he, he fully joined into what Jesus came to do. 00:13:56.270 --> 00:14:07.556 And James, chapter three, he talks about the power of words, and in verse five he said even so, the tongue is a little member in both great things. 00:14:07.556 --> 00:14:15.414 Behold how great a matter a little fire kindled, and the tongue is a fire. 00:14:15.414 --> 00:14:16.820 A world of iniquity. 00:14:16.820 --> 00:14:25.261 So is the tongue among our members that it defiles the whole body and sets on fire the course of nature. 00:14:25.261 --> 00:14:29.981 The NLT says it can set your whole life on fire. 00:14:31.730 --> 00:14:42.643 And, and so James is coming at it from the negative, he's coming at it from the power of words being the kindling? 00:14:49.970 --> 00:14:51.796 It's little small pieces of wood. 00:14:51.796 --> 00:14:57.481 You ever wonder why California has so many devastating fires? 00:14:57.481 --> 00:15:15.475 It's because they don't spend any money on forest management and they let the trees grow and grow and grow and they shed dead limbs and then the trees die in the forest and they don't clean them up, they don't do anything, and so then all it takes is a lightning strike that kindles a little fire. 00:15:15.475 --> 00:15:21.535 A little old bit of straw, a little old bit of kindling can burn an entire forest down. 00:15:22.570 --> 00:15:32.038 And so he's talking about little words, words that seem so insignificant in your mouth, against your big forest fire. 00:15:32.038 --> 00:15:38.071 Well, you can start a forest fire, but you can put a forest fire out with words, see. 00:15:38.071 --> 00:15:41.375 So let's turn around the negative and make it the positive side. 00:15:41.375 --> 00:15:43.475 It's the same power. 00:15:43.475 --> 00:15:45.216 He's talking about the power of destruction. 00:15:45.216 --> 00:15:48.418 I'm talking about the creative power of words. 00:15:48.418 --> 00:15:55.457 I'm talking about the power of words to change things for the better, change things for what God has got in mind for you. 00:15:55.457 --> 00:15:57.951 Yeah, it's true, you can. 00:15:57.951 --> 00:16:00.572 You know, death and life are in the power of the tongue. 00:16:00.572 --> 00:16:02.158 Proverbs 18, 21. 00:16:02.158 --> 00:16:07.778 Yeah, you can burn your life down, you can set your whole world on fire with the wrong words. 00:16:07.778 --> 00:16:18.779 But let's, tonight, for just for the message sake, let's turn that around and realize how much good we can do when we speak God's Word into our situations. 00:16:18.779 --> 00:16:25.914 It can be transformative, and it will be, if we just simply believe it in our hearts and speak it with our mouth. 00:16:29.649 --> 00:16:32.849 And then, when we do speak it again Jeremiah 112,. 00:16:32.849 --> 00:16:39.720 God is there to watch over what we've said to make sure it's carried into effect. 00:16:39.720 --> 00:16:56.259 In Hebrews, in Hebrews, chapter three, it talks about how Jesus is our high priest and he administers, executes, implements and carries into effect the Word that we send. 00:16:56.259 --> 00:17:00.134 That's what Jesus is doing at the right hand of the Father right now. 00:17:00.134 --> 00:17:09.978 Jesus is watching over our words to do what To administer, to execute, to implement and to carry them into effect. 00:17:09.978 --> 00:17:12.520 That's exactly what Jeremiah 112 says. 00:17:12.520 --> 00:17:19.335 And so Jesus, our high priest, he's the high priest of what our profession or our confession. 00:17:19.335 --> 00:17:25.820 That's why, when we speak the same thing, when we speak the Word, I mean it's so powerful. 00:17:25.820 --> 00:17:39.377 It may seem like you're speaking words against a hurricane or a forest fire or something, a tsunami or something like that, but listen, the Word in your mouth will accomplish what you please, what you desire. 00:17:39.377 --> 00:17:42.739 It will prosper in the thing where, too, you send it. 00:17:42.739 --> 00:17:44.737 So we need to send the Word. 00:17:44.737 --> 00:17:49.355 Let's send the Cornelius gathered all of his family and his near kinsmen and a lot of friends, and so they had a big old crowd of Jewish people and he's preaching the gospel to them. 00:18:10.020 --> 00:18:15.358 And it says, while Peter yet spake, the Holy Ghost fell on all of them that heard the Word. 00:18:15.358 --> 00:18:16.741 And how did they know? 00:18:16.741 --> 00:18:20.316 Because they all began to speak in other tongues Right in the middle of his message. 00:18:20.316 --> 00:18:22.036 He was just getting to the crescendo. 00:18:22.036 --> 00:18:26.000 He was just getting to the point that he was gonna make. 00:18:26.000 --> 00:18:27.835 He was wound up in preaching. 00:18:27.835 --> 00:18:32.778 Then he had a good audience and the first thing, you know, the whole crowd started speaking in other tongues. 00:18:32.778 --> 00:18:40.115 He didn't have an altar call, he didn't have 10 repetitions of just as I am and all of that kind of stuff. 00:18:40.115 --> 00:18:41.756 I didn't have a choir singing. 00:18:41.756 --> 00:18:49.037 I mean just they heard the Word and the Holy Ghost fell on all of them and they all began to speak in other tongues. 00:18:49.037 --> 00:18:52.817 So 00:19:41.375 Or Ephesians three, 16 through 20, philippians one nine through 11, colossians one nine. 00:19:41.375 --> 00:19:46.631 All those prayers are Holy spirit inspired prayers in your Bible and many others. 00:19:46.631 --> 00:19:48.531 I just wrote down a few. 00:19:50.224 --> 00:19:57.218 I made it a point one time to go through all the word where I could find, where it was, mostly Paul, but Peter has something too. 00:19:57.218 --> 00:20:05.769 And these are Holy ghost inspired prayers that are written down in the epistles for us to pray for ourselves and others. 00:20:05.769 --> 00:20:14.929 And you can be sure that God is listening and hearing those prayers and he's bringing those prayers to pass in your life If you're praying them for you. 00:20:14.929 --> 00:20:19.009 He's
