you a picture of the church, the true church, the way it should be. 00:03:44.765 --> 00:03:46.945 It started out in power. 00:03:46.945 --> 00:03:48.225 It's gonna end in power. 00:03:48.225 --> 00:03:54.508 I don't see a lot of power being released, but that doesn't change my mind about where we ought to be. 00:03:54.508 --> 00:03:57.608 You know, I found out you can have what you preach. 00:03:57.608 --> 00:04:10.847 And because I heard the message of the believer and of the disciple when I was first saved, I just was foolish enough to go ahead and believe that Brother Osteen was right and I just started doing those things. 00:04:10.847 --> 00:04:15.939 I said I started doing those things and I said I did. 00:04:15.960 --> 00:04:18.809 Now, saul of Tarsus had an encounter with Jesus. 00:04:18.809 --> 00:04:26.728 You can read that in the first nine verses of this Acts, chapter nine, and that encounter totally transformed me. 00:04:26.728 --> 00:04:33.346 Have you ever seen the cartoon the Road Runner and the Coyote? 00:04:33.346 --> 00:04:43.040 I mean, a lot of times a coyote is totally transformed by an encounter that he has with a road runner Like. 00:04:43.040 --> 00:04:52.726 One of my favorites is when the 18-wheeler hits him and his snout becomes like the grooves in the grill of the front end of the truck. 00:04:52.726 --> 00:04:56.007 You know he's either getting blown up or run over. 00:04:56.007 --> 00:05:00.028 And that's kind of the way it was with Saul of Tarsus. 00:05:00.028 --> 00:05:06.988 He met Jesus and he was blinded by the glory and had to have somebody lead him away by the hand. 00:05:06.988 --> 00:05:09.846 And Jesus didn't leave him in that way. 00:05:09.846 --> 00:05:14.817 He chose Ananias and Sapphire, ananias the disciple. 00:05:14.817 --> 00:05:23.660 I should say there was another Ananias that died instantly, but you know he had an encounter with Jesus. 00:05:23.660 --> 00:05:27.278 He had gotten saved at some point. joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faithfulness, meat and self-control. 00:15:26.554 --> 00:15:30.538 Yeah, the fruits of the spirit, yeah, that ought to be present in anybody's life. 00:15:30.538 --> 00:15:40.378 There are people that are saved, that have the fruit of the spirit, but they're not filled with the spirit, so they don't have any of the supernatural, they don't have manifestations of the spirit In verse 10, he had the discerning of spirits, not the gift of discernment. 00:16:06.029 --> 00:16:08.739 I hear people all the time talk about the gift of discernment. 00:16:08.739 --> 00:16:13.078 Well, number one, that's not a gift, that's a sin and it's suspicion. 00:16:13.078 --> 00:16:16.035 God didn't give you the gift of suspicion. 00:16:16.035 --> 00:16:19.576 Discernment is not in there, it's discerning of spirits. 00:16:19.576 --> 00:16:21.515 Let's get our terminology correct. 00:16:21.515 --> 00:16:28.158 And discerning of spirits is the ability to see into the spirit realm from where you are. 00:16:30.309 --> 00:16:32.298 And so what happened when Jesus appeared to him? 00:16:32.298 --> 00:16:40.159 So that was by definition a discerning of spirits, because he saw Jesus, just like you would see me. 00:16:40.159 --> 00:16:51.255 Sometimes there's all kind of not preaching on visions, but there's all kind of visions closed-eyed visions, open-eyed visions, dreams and all that kind of thing. 00:16:51.255 --> 00:16:54.750 But evidently this was Jesus talking to Ananias. 00:16:54.750 --> 00:16:57.977 He called him Ananias I'm here, lord. 00:16:57.977 --> 00:17:00.837 So he saw him. 00:17:02.775 --> 00:17:08.655 And then, in verse 11, he said go and inquire of the house of Judas for one. 00:17:08.655 --> 00:17:11.390 Call Saul of Tarsus for Beholde prayeth. 00:17:11.390 --> 00:17:16.410 So he told Jesus, told Ananias where he was located. 00:17:16.410 --> 00:17:19.979 That is a word of knowledge. the layout, but obviously it wasn't right down the street, so he had to tell him where he was. 00:18:17.690 --> 00:18:21.357 That's a word of knowledge, all right. 00:18:21.357 --> 00:18:30.858 Then the next one is he went down there and he laid his hands on him and the Bible says scales fell off of Paul's eyes and he was instantly healed. 00:18:30.858 --> 00:18:40.200 Now, that differs from
