Baptist and some say Elijah, maybe Jeremiah or one of the prophets. 00:03:18.685 --> 00:03:20.325 And he said but who do you say that I am? 00:03:20.325 --> 00:03:23.747 And Peter answered and said you're Christ, the Son of the living God. 00:03:23.747 --> 00:03:27.387 And so Jesus' response to him was blessed, are you Simon? 00:03:27.387 --> 00:03:31.407 For flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but my Father, who is in heaven. 00:03:31.407 --> 00:03:47.586 And I also say to you, peter, that on this rock you know, peter was a little stone in that meaning, but Jesus said on this rock, which is the greater stone, I will build my church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it and I will give you the keys to the kingdom. 00:03:47.586 --> 00:03:50.526 And whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven. 00:03:50.526 --> 00:03:52.471 Whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. 00:03:52.471 --> 00:03:57.572 So he says my church will be built on revelation knowledge. 00:03:57.572 --> 00:03:58.943 And that's missing today. 00:03:58.943 --> 00:04:04.512 People have a head knowledge of what Jesus did, but they don't have a revelation knowledge to go with it. 00:04:04.512 --> 00:04:09.610 And that's the thing that the church, the kingdom of God, is supposed to be built on revelation knowledge. 00:04:09.610 --> 00:04:11.344 And with that comes the keys. 00:04:11.344 --> 00:04:13.926 That means you can go places, you can do things. 00:04:13.926 --> 00:04:22.826 It's keys to understanding and it's a keys of authority so that when you, you can have what missing in the church today. 00:04:33.300 --> 00:04:47.413 And then you know, just a few minutes later, when Jesus was congratulating him for that, then he goes on to tell his disciples how he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders and the chief priests and the scribes and be killed, and that he would be raised up on the third day. 00:04:47.413 --> 00:04:51.992 And Peter took him aside and rebuked Jesus and said far be it from you, lord. 00:04:51.992 --> 00:04:53.384 This should not happen to you. 00:04:53.384 --> 00:04:54.382 Far be it from you. 00:04:54.382 --> 00:04:58.187 And Jesus had to turn to Peter and say get behind me Satan. 00:04:58.187 --> 00:05:03.732 And the one minute he congratulated him for this revelation knowledge that he had. 00:05:03.732 --> 00:05:06.048 And the next minute he said get behind me Satan. 00:05:06.048 --> 00:05:08.105 He wasn't talking to Peter per se. 00:05:08.105 --> 00:05:10.564 Peter was a spiritually dead person. 00:05:10.564 --> 00:05:13.726 He was talking to the sin nature in Peter. 00:05:13.726 --> 00:05:16.105 He got revelation knowledge. 00:05:16.105 --> 00:05:17.283 It was a gift from God. 00:05:17.283 --> 00:05:25.310 In that moment there was a mystery revealed to him, and the next minute was the sin nature of Adam coming out in Peter. 00:05:25.310 --> 00:05:27.827 And Jesus had to say get behind salvation, but salvation was complete and it completed something and it accomplished. 00:06:09.843 --> 00:06:12.906 And so that's what I mean when I say the complete salvation. 00:06:14.720 --> 00:06:22.586 In the Old Testament there were types and shadows that referred to our salvation, referenced Jesus and pointed towards Jesus. 00:06:22.586 --> 00:06:26.071 In fact, the whole Old Testament is going to point towards Jesus. 00:06:26.071 --> 00:06:38.627 If you could imagine God here in the future shining light, sun, jesus here, if you're on this side, you can see the countenance of Jesus, you can see the figure of Jesus, you can see him he's real. 00:06:38.627 --> 00:06:44.846 But God shining light through his son, here and on this side, all you have is a shadow. 00:06:44.846 --> 00:06:49.550 If you're looking forward into the future, all you see is a shadowy figure, a silhouette. 00:06:49.550 --> 00:06:54.684 I've got a shadow, I've got a lot of shadows up here because there's a lot of lights, but these shadows are not me. 00:06:54.684 --> 00:06:58.307 But you can tell I'm here if you were to see a shadow there. 00:06:58.307 --> 00:07:03.151 And so in the Old Testament there are types and shadows of Jesus all the way through there. 00:07:04.040 --> 00:07:08.209 In Hebrews 10, 1, it says for the law having a shadow of the good things to come. 00:07:08.209 --> 00:07:20.771 The law was just a shadow of the good things to come and not the very image of the things can never, with these same sacrifices which they offer continually, year by year, make those who approach perfect. 00:07:20.771 --> 00:07:22.545 The law could not perfect people. 00:07:22.545 --> 00:07:25.726 They had to do it year after year after year. 00:07:26.920 --> 00:07:30.088 In the Old Testament there's a lot of Jesus-type figures. 00:07:30.088 --> 00:07:33.045 Adam was the first Jesus-type. 00:07:33.045 --> 00:07:37.447 You've got Joseph and Moses and Joshua. 00:07:37.447 --> 00:07:40.031 Jonah was another one. 00:07:40.031 --> 00:07:44.370 Melchizedek, you remember, melchizedek was the first one that Abraham tithed to. 00:07:44.370 --> 00:07:56.507 He was a priest, a chief priest, and Jesus was compared in Hebrews that he or mortal men received tithes, but there he received them and it compared him to Melchizedek. 00:07:56.507 --> 00:07:59.264 So that was a type of Jesus. 00:07:59.980 --> 00:08:07.211 Joseph, you recall, he was taken by his brothers and sold into slavery and into bondage. 00:08:07.211 --> 00:08:17.045 He ended up in prison, into the lower parts of the prison, into the worst place of the prison, and he was preserved in prison. 00:08:17.045 --> 00:08:30.529 And he wasn't preserved for his own sake, but he was preserved for the sake of his brethren, so that he could be a salvation to them, so he could bring them out of the trouble that they were in. 00:08:30.529 --> 00:08:32.525 And so Joseph was a type right there. 00:08:32.525 --> 00:08:39.903 Moses led his people out of bondage and slavery, led them through the wilderness On the other side. 00:08:39.903 --> 00:08:50.320 It was charged to Moses that he should lead them into the promised land, and Moses didn't get to do that because he violated a type and shadow that God had ordained before he. 00:08:50.320 --> 00:08:58.211 God had wanted him to speak to a rock and out of that rock water would flow and it would have watered all the Israelites there in the wilderness. 00:08:58.211 --> 00:09:04.041 But Moses, in his anger, got so frustrated with those people and he beat the rock with his rod. 00:09:04.041 --> 00:09:06.147 And God still honored it and water came out. 00:09:06.147 --> 00:09:07.650 But he violated the type and shadow. 00:09:07.650 --> 00:09:13.472 He wanted us to see, the demonstration of the word of our authority that we have. 00:09:13.472 --> 00:09:15.284 And Moses had a word of authority. 00:09:15.284 --> 00:09:26.707 So Joshua got to lead the Israelites across the river Jordan and into the promised land and he was a type of Jesus in the Old Testament there. 00:09:28.440 --> 00:09:44.432 But I'm going to start with let's just start with this the greatest weakness of all of humanity is really you could boil it down to a sin consciousness. 00:09:44.432 --> 00:09:48.187 That's what keeps people slaves to fear. 00:09:48.187 --> 00:09:50.744 Sin consciousness will keep you in fear. 00:09:50.744 --> 00:09:59.227 Imagine the level of victory that we could have if we knew that we were the righteousness, or are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. 00:09:59.227 --> 00:10:03.410 If we really were established in that fact, what kind of a life would we live? 00:10:03.410 --> 00:10:14.029 I mean, we're all living in various levels of successes or failures, but sin consciousness is really the oldest and most persistent enemy of faith. 00:10:14.029 --> 00:10:16.221 Why is it? 00:10:16.221 --> 00:10:22.923 Because we've been redeemed from sin and yet it keeps coming back around and we still have to deal with it, and deal with it over and over and over. 00:10:22.923 --> 00:10:27.389 You can't have faith in the Word if you're under condemnation of sin. 00:10:27.389 --> 00:10:39.732 If you sin and you commit one and then you're feeling bad about that, then it's hard to muster up the faith in the Word that says that I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. 00:10:39.732 --> 00:10:41.222 And so it's an internal battle. 00:10:41.563 --> 00:10:51.206 The sin consciousness Righteousness gives us the ability to stand before God shameless and fearless, and we're called sons in His kingdom, sons and daughters. 00:10:51.206 --> 00:11:12.144 What kind of a relationship would we have with our heavenly Father if we couldn't approach Him and call Him dad, if His kids were always just, you know, hiding in the corners, hiding behind the couch and scampering through the living room to get to the other side, hopefully without being seen, and never talking to dad. 00:11:12.144 --> 00:11:17.187 You know, imagine a relationship with your kids like that, where they're always running away from you and never wanting to interface with you. 00:11:17.187 --> 00:11:19.246 There's no joy in that, there's no pleasure. 00:11:19.246 --> 00:11:25.528 The Father would have no pleasure in His kids that way and he wants us to have joy in His presence. 00:11:25.528 --> 00:11:28.945 Faith pleases God, not fear. 00:11:28.945 --> 00:11:31.121 Remember. 00:11:31.121 --> 00:11:32.504 God said of His Son. 00:11:32.504 --> 00:11:36.831 This is my Son, my beloved Son, and whom I am well pleased. 00:11:39.280 --> 00:11:51.226 The purpose of redemption was to buy back our right and privilege, to get back into the presence of God, to come back in there and to be able to do that without fear and Concern anymore. 00:11:51.226 --> 00:11:53.350 Adam had that in the very beginning. 00:11:53.350 --> 00:11:57.017 He was the first type Jesus type in the Bible and he had that. 00:11:57.017 --> 00:11:58.500 Where he could, he walked with God. 00:11:58.500 --> 00:12:01.010 He walked and talked with God. 00:12:01.010 --> 00:12:03.620 He had, he enjoyed the presence of God. 00:12:03.620 --> 00:12:04.845 God enjoyed talking to him. 00:12:04.845 --> 00:12:14.820 Jesus was pleasing to God because he did the will of the Father and because he lived in the fullness of what he was designed to be. 00:12:14.820 --> 00:12:18.268 Adam lost it. 00:12:18.268 --> 00:12:20.696 Jesus got it back. 00:12:22.666 --> 00:12:33.466 Ephesians 2.12 says then at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the Commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the Covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. 00:12:33.466 --> 00:12:34.388 We had no hope. 00:12:34.388 --> 00:12:43.681 You got the Israelites, the Hebrew children that had a covenant with God, and then there's the rest of us who had no hope whatsoever. 00:12:43.681 --> 00:12:59.357 Well, jesus not only paid the penalty for all of our transgressions, for all of us, but he defeated Satan and he stripped him of his authority and he made the recreation of our spirit possible on legal grounds. 00:12:59.357 --> 00:13:08.158 God is not going to violate his word or his covenant and he drove out our sin nature and gave us God's own nature and his eternal life. 00:13:08.158 --> 00:13:17.390 Israel had it credited to their account when they had these sacrifices. 00:13:17.390 --> 00:13:21.504 It was credited to their account, but we have become righteous. 00:13:21.504 --> 00:13:26.336 So they had an account where it was kind of deposited in there, but we have become righteous. 00:13:26.336 --> 00:13:37.578 The righteousness of God For he who made him, who knew no sin, to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in him. 00:13:37.578 --> 00:13:39.309 Jesus became sin. 00:13:40.785 --> 00:13:44.078 Jesus talks about you know the reference of I'm the vine, you're the branches. 00:13:44.078 --> 00:13:51.456 If Jesus is righteous, if he is the vine and we are the branches, don't the branches also have the same righteousness that the vine does? 00:13:51.456 --> 00:13:53.086 I mean it only makes sense. 00:13:53.086 --> 00:13:54.251 This is easy logic here. 00:13:54.251 --> 00:13:58.678 If anyone is in Christ, he's a new creation and old things have passed away. 00:13:58.678 --> 00:14:00.125 All things have become new. 00:14:00.125 --> 00:14:10.086 That's why it's so important that we relate to ourselves and to each other as new creatures and not by any other thing, not by race, not by color, not by anything. 00:14:10.086 --> 00:14:13.929 We are new creatures in Christ. 00:14:13.929 --> 00:14:27.455 You got all kinds of hyphenated Americans where they're trying to identify with this culture and that culture and this country and this political party and we're to relate to each other interrupted that and said now you originate here, you have a new one, we had an old one and we have a new one. 00:14:44.077 --> 00:14:50.837 So we can't keep reverting back to the old when we are new, and this is the weakness of humanity. 00:14:50.837 --> 00:14:54.397 It is not the righteousness of God to keep reverting back. 00:14:54.397 --> 00:14:58.611 Reverting back, reverting back, it's a wasting of power, it's a wasting of what Jesus has done. 00:15:00.145 --> 00:15:06.345 We know that Jesus was tempted in all points, just like we were, yet without sin, and he remained holy as God all the way through there. 00:15:06.345 --> 00:15:14.053 He came to live as a man and we're gonna talk a little bit about that and he did it successfully and pleased his father. 00:15:14.053 --> 00:15:20.274 When he hung on the cross, his spirit suffered what Adam suffered in the garden. 00:15:20.274 --> 00:15:25.914 When Adam sinned, god kicked him out and he lost his connection with God. You know, hiding from God, to be like me trying to stand behind this podium here, you can't do it. 00:16:13.515 --> 00:16:19.684 But Adam became sin-conscious and he experienced the shame and that's supernatural beginning, and let's talk about that one. 00:16:33.645 --> 00:16:39.850 When Adam, when God created Adam, he was formed in the image of God. 00:16:39.850 --> 00:16:42.918 God created talk a little bit about some of the feasts around that time, because God's timing for everything is perfect all the way through and God has preordained things in advance and the timing is impeccable I And so these feasts were held at an appropriate time and they were assigned to the Jews of salvation, and yet they didn't see it, but it was a sign of salvation to them. 00:33:51.320 --> 00:33:53.520 00:34:32.061 There's a whole threshold covenant that goes into that and I'm not going to even dive into that one tonight. 00:34:32.061 --> 00:34:44.443 But there was a threshold covenant where the blood was down in the doorway, and so the death angel had to pass over that house, and I'll just tell you this about the threshold covenant that God came inside. 00:34:44.443 --> 00:34:50.460 He made another covenant with them over that lamb and said I'm going to come into your house and I'm going to be your protector. 00:34:50.460 --> 00:34:54.846 When you invited somebody into your house, typically you were the protector of that person. 00:34:54.846 --> 00:34:56.184 You entered into covenant with them. 00:34:56.184 --> 00:34:58.922 But God entered into covenant with them and protected their house. 00:34:58.922 --> 00:35:20.943 When they applied that blood of the lamb right there and so it was a sacrificial lamb the Passover they required that the father of the house would symbolically transfer the sins of that family onto that lamb, and so he lay his hands on the head of that lamb and the sins of the family were transferred to that lamb before it was sacrificed.
