things have become new. 00:00:54.067 --> 00:00:56.564 And it's interesting. 00:00:56.564 --> 00:01:02.210 There he is as italicized, and in my margin it says let him be. 00:01:02.210 --> 00:01:13.587 house and they go through our pantry and say, oh Graham, this is expired. 00:02:34.449 --> 00:02:36.687 Let me you know when they leave. 00:02:36.687 --> 00:02:42.429 We've got a garbage can full of expired food but keeps us on our toes. 00:02:42.429 --> 00:02:45.268 But no, we don't have an expiration date. 00:02:46.242 --> 00:02:51.949 We should know that God wants us to walk in newness or freshness of life. 00:02:51.949 --> 00:03:00.650 You know, when you look that Roman six, four, up in the linguistic key to the Greek New Testament, it brings the idea of strangeness and difference. 00:03:00.650 --> 00:03:02.306 We ought to be different than the world. 00:03:02.306 --> 00:03:02.721 We ought to. 00:03:02.721 --> 00:03:07.604 That's why we have about a split in America right now. 00:03:07.604 --> 00:03:16.348 In case you didn't know it, america, the nation, is under God's judgment because of disobedience, because we've drifted away from God as a nation. 00:03:16.348 --> consequences of a nation that has departed from God and has come out from under God and gotten out without God, and so there's a division in our nation. 00:03:47.699 --> 00:03:49.145 A lot of people praying for unity. 00:03:49.145 --> 00:03:50.705 Well, you've wasted your breath. 00:03:50.705 --> 00:03:53.548 There's not gonna be unity with the unbeliever. 00:03:53.548 --> 00:03:59.046 There's not gonna be unity with those that are dead, and that's what the difference is. 00:03:59.046 --> 00:04:18.689 It's people that are alive, those people that are true Christians, true born again Christians, true believers in Christ Jesus, those who are really in Christ, those who are living like it, those who are walking in the new, are gonna be different than those other folks. 00:04:18.689 talking about walking in the new. 00:05:20.802 --> 00:05:29.225 It's so important for the church to have this fragrance of new Newness of life. 00:05:29.225 --> 00:05:34.029 Second Corinthians, chapter two, verse 15. 00:05:34.029 --> 00:05:38.829 For we are unto God talking about the new creatures. 00:05:38.829 --> 00:05:53.524 We are unto God, a sweet saver, or a sweet fragrance of Christ, and them that are saved, and to them, or in them that perish, to the one where the fragrance of death unto death. 00:05:53.524 --> 00:05:54.086 Who is that? 00:05:54.240 --> 00:05:56.771 Well, that's why people don't like us. 00:05:56.771 --> 00:06:01.540 I mean, you know they're, they're headed for death unless they get saved. 00:06:01.540 --> 00:06:04.324 And and we, we remind them that they're fragrance of God, but for the unbeliever it's a fragrance of death. 00:06:35.560 --> 00:06:41.240 To the other, the saver of life under life, and who's sufficient for these things? 00:06:41.240 --> 00:06:53.038 So if we would just walk in newness of life, we would be a fragrance of life and a beacon of light in a dark world. 00:06:53.038 --> 00:06:55.637 These people need to have a witness and they need to be. 00:06:55.637 --> 00:07:04.901 You know, one of these days, if they don't repent, they'll have no excuse because they were exposed to the life of God, the Zoe life of God in us. 00:07:06.074 --> 00:07:16.564 You know I like to use a new car illustration and you know I've had a number of new cars in my life and you know there's something about a new car smell. 00:07:16.564 --> 00:07:18.461 That just, you know. 00:07:18.461 --> 00:07:21.341 Some people think it doesn't smell good, but to me it smells good. 00:07:21.341 --> 00:07:24.603 I like the new car smell. 00:07:24.603 used car one time and not only did it not have a new car smell but it had a smell of a smoker. 00:07:39.903 --> 00:07:45.620 I guess whoever owned it before I did was a heavy smoker so I never could little daughters and he bought a Pontiac station wagon, 1971 Pontiac station wagon and the thing was a mile long and it had a real unusual tailgate in the back. 00:08:08.923 --> 00:08:24.502 Instead of having one that opens like this or opens to the side, that car you just you know you pressed a button on the dash and the whole back door just recessed in the floorboard under the third seat. 00:08:24.502 --> 00:08:33.220 And his little girls a lot of times would ride in the third seat in the back of the station wagon, facing toward the rear. 00:08:33.220 --> 00:08:38.982 They liked seeing out the back of the car, had an unobstructed view out there. 00:08:38.982 --> 00:08:43.779 And so and it was brand new it's he was showing off the. 00:08:43.779 --> 00:08:46.581 You know how that 00:09:25.357 The dealer knew that this was a common problem and they had dropped the baloney sandwich down in that recessed floorboard and it had rotted. 00:09:25.357 --> 00:09:28.719 And then I mean know, you had seats, a couple of seats, on either side of the middle aisle of a train, car, and a man. 00:10:11.538 --> 00:10:19.961 As he walked by, going to the front of the car, this man stood up and he said, sir, you convict me of sin. 00:10:19.961 --> 00:10:22.780 And he knelt down and wept. 00:10:22.780 --> 00:10:24.024 In the whole car. 00:10:24.024 --> 00:10:29.100 I mean, people were weeping and kneeling down and repenting of their sin. 00:10:29.100 --> 00:10:29.436 Why? 00:10:29.436 --> 00:10:39.061 Because, smith Wigglesworth, he carried such a fragrance that to them they realized they were dead and they needed to repent, they needed to get saved. 00:10:39.061 --> 00:10:45.664 And the whole car came to Jesus right there they all cried out for salvation. 00:10:45.664 --> 00:10:48.200 Oh, glory to God, thank God for the fragrance. 00:10:49.154 --> 00:10:51.740 Walking in the new I mean that's the churches. 00:10:51.740 --> 00:10:57.481 You know, here we're coming into the last of the year, here we are already Thanksgiving. 00:10:57.481 --> 00:11:00.764 It's gonna be Christmas next few weeks and then new year. 00:11:00.764 --> 00:11:02.003 Let's walk in the new year. 00:11:02.003 --> 00:11:04.142 Let's walk in the new right now. 00:11:04.142 --> 00:11:07.130 Let's look at this. 00:11:07.772 --> 00:11:21.307 Second Corinthians 5.17 again, and let's look at this, these verses, and says here therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature. 00:11:21.307 --> 00:11:27.634 Old things are passed away and behold, all things are become new. 00:11:27.634 --> 00:11:42.793 So when you look at our passed away, that verb, when all are become new, that verb, when you look it up in the Greek, it means the tense of that verb is continuous action. 00:11:42.793 --> 00:11:54.530 In other words, that didn't just happen when we got saved way back, when it happens every moment of every day, if we're conscious of it. 00:11:54.530 --> 00:12:03.559 It says let him walk, let him be a new creature. 00:12:03.559 --> 00:12:06.453 See, let's walk in that newness, that new creature. 00:12:06.453 --> 00:12:10.054 And that means being God inside minded. 00:12:10.054 --> 00:12:14.613 That means that we're always conscious of the Holy Spirit present on the inside. 00:12:14.613 --> 00:12:24.274 And so there's a very similar verse over in Titus let's turn over there. 00:12:24.274 --> 00:12:39.037 It's right after 1st and 2nd Timothy, titus, chapter three, talking about walking. 00:12:39.097 --> 00:12:51.884 In the new Verse, four, but after, the kindness and love of God, our savior toward man appeared not by works of righteousness, which we have done, but according to his mercy. 00:12:51.884 --> 00:13:05.731 He saved us by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Ghost which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ, our savior. 00:13:05.731 --> 00:13:09.254 So in other words, we're not saved by our works. 00:13:09.254 --> 00:13:12.985 The fact that we have works is proof that we are saved. 00:13:12.985 --> 00:13:14.009 How were we saved? 00:13:14.009 --> 00:13:20.304 We were saved by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Ghost. 00:13:20.304 --> 00:13:27.604 That renewing, you know that renewing means that it's not just one time. 00:13:27.604 --> 00:13:32.971 We're renewed in that salvation every day as we walk in it. 00:13:32.971 --> 00:13:34.349 Praise God. 00:13:34.349 --> 00:13:45.335 That washing of regeneration, you know we're washed, the washing of water by the Word, every day when we read our Bible, when we doers of the Word, not hearers only. 00:13:45.485 --> 00:13:55.394 All of that has to do with our fragrance and walking in the new and keeping our quote unquote, new car fragrance a little longer than new cars do. 00:13:55.394 --> 00:14:00.812 And you know Romans six four, which we already read. 00:14:00.812 --> 00:14:03.631 It says you know, walk in newness of life. 00:14:03.631 --> 00:14:11.751 The word walk there means to continue, not just walk, but it means to continue like a long life's journey. 00:14:11.751 --> 00:14:16.576 We continue in the newness of the life of God. 00:14:16.576 --> 00:14:18.731 Zoe is the God kind of life. 00:14:18.731 --> 00:14:26.634 And so we should be imposing our fragrance of life and countenance of light upon this world. everywhere we're engaged in conversation, even when we're just not talking, people just looking at us we're imposing our fragrance of life and our countenance of light upon this world. 00:14:50.154 that you can't just receive the baptism one time and and then, 50 years later, you've never been filled again. 00:17:01.750 --> 00:17:05.354 No, we need to be filled and filled again, and filled walk in the new mentally, and that's pretty easy once you've done it spiritually, because spiritually it sort of includes the Word of God. 00:18:31.710 --> 00:18:41.961 So Romans 12, 2, it says, be so when you read your Bible every day, you're renewing your mind, you're renewing your thought life. 00:18:54.778 --> 00:19:03.836 So as you feed your spirit, you're also reprogramming your mind to
