with verse one and Saul was consenting unto his death, talking about Philip. 00:00:55.476 --> 00:01:14.352 Philip was martyred and Saul was there holding their clothes, and at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem, and they were all scattered abroad, throughout all the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles. 00:01:14.352 --> 00:01:25.545 The apostles stayed evidently in Jerusalem and everybody else, scattered and devout men, carried Stephen to his burial and made great lamentation for him. 00:01:25.545 --> 00:01:29.016 And as for Saul, entitled the importance of signs and wonders. 00:02:21.463 --> 00:02:24.873 The importance of signs and wonders. 00:02:24.873 --> 00:02:31.859 You know, the early church, the gospel begins to spread, and of course they stayed in Jerusalem until this point. 00:02:31.879 --> 00:02:45.326 It was three years after the resurrection of Jesus and persecution arose, and I think partly because they had failed to obey God. 00:02:45.326 --> 00:02:52.350 I mean, you know, jesus said you shall be my witnesses in both in Jerusalem and in Judea and Samaria and the other most parts of the earth. 00:02:52.350 --> 00:03:01.444 In other words, it wasn't just like in order, you know, wait and go to Jerusalem and then after that, judea, and after that, no, do it all. 00:03:01.444 --> 00:03:04.532 And they had just stuck in Jerusalem. 00:03:04.532 --> 00:03:08.066 And so you know, when you don't fully obey God, you open the door to Satan. 00:03:08.066 --> 00:03:21.311 God didn't send the persecution, but you know they, through their disobedience or partial obedience, I could say it that way, the devil was able to turn up the pressure. 00:03:21.311 --> 00:03:27.048 And so believers I want you to see that believers were scattered abroad and they went about preaching. 00:03:27.087 --> 00:03:30.441 See, a lot of people don't see themselves as ministers. 00:03:30.441 --> 00:03:37.705 I believe, look, every believer, especially spirit filled believers, you have the capacity to proclaim truth. 00:03:37.705 --> 00:03:41.682 You know, preaching is just simply proclaiming the good news, that's all it is. 00:03:41.682 --> 00:03:50.429 It's not having three points in a poem, it's not having some kind of sermon at or sermon, it's just sharing truth with people. 00:03:50.429 --> pick Samaria or Sychar, which is the same place that Jesus ministered to the woman at the well. 00:05:07.245 --> 00:05:15.500 And so there were no miracles there under Jesus, no recorded miracles that the brokenhearted, the blind, the bound and the bruised. 00:05:40.728 --> 00:05:46.387 So I mean, you know he had, he understood what he was supposed to declare. 00:05:46.387 --> 00:05:52.345 He declared the full gospel and you know I want to say a little bit about this. 00:05:52.365 --> 00:05:55.675 He didn't just preach a Billy Graham message about getting saved. 00:05:55.675 --> 00:06:09.221 I was just watching an ad on on television before I came to church and I saw Franklin Graham do a whole ad and inviting people to make Jesus the Lord of their life, and I think that's fantastic, you know. 00:06:09.221 --> 00:06:14.557 But let me tell you something what's needed right now is not just an invitation to make Jesus the Lord of the. 00:06:14.557 --> 00:06:15.608 You need miracles. 00:06:15.608 --> 00:06:17.375 We need miracles, signs and wonders. 00:06:17.375 --> 00:06:21.951 I mean, we need those, those kinds of things or or what's necessary. 00:06:21.992 --> 00:06:27.531 I'm not criticizing Franklin Graham, I'm just saying the church should be sparkling with the supernatural. 00:06:27.531 --> 00:06:30.500 We need signs and wonders. 00:06:30.500 --> 00:08:55.058 They hired some Dodo birds that didn't understand brand integrity and they put something out that was not consistent with the brand that millions of their customers had trusted in. 00:08:56.725 --> 00:09:11.924 I remember a number of years ago, coca-cola decided to have a new Coke and this is back in the 80s and I had, you know they, they made a big deal out of the new Coke and they got rid of the old Coke and put the new Coke out and it flunked. 00:09:11.924 --> 00:09:14.115 I mean, nobody liked it, they didn't. 00:09:14.115 --> 00:09:16.004 They started going down, down, down. 00:09:16.004 --> 00:09:24.513 They had enough sense to to stop in the middle after about a few months, after they were getting beat up and complaints and their product wasn't sold. 00:09:24.513 --> 00:09:29.816 They, they had the good sense to go back to the old Coke and get rid of the new Coke. 00:09:29.816 --> 00:09:32.087 You know, I tell you what. 00:09:32.087 --> 00:09:33.972 Everything I heard about the believer's ministry from Brother Osteen. 00:11:30.221 --> 00:11:35.673 He was teaching us to lay hands on the sick and I started doing just what people had done for me. 00:11:35.673 --> 00:11:38.720 I mean, just a believer laid hands on my mother and she was healed. 00:11:38.720 --> 00:11:43.759 So I started laying hands on people and God started confirming his word with signs nine, but there, but there was a certain man called Simon which, before time, in the same city, used sorcery and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was one, some great one, to
