Happy New Year everybody! βœ¨πŸ’« First of all, I want to thank all my listeners for your time and your support in 2022, and for all my guests for sharing your beautiful stories and your wisdom! πŸ’•

In 2023, I hope to bring on exciting guests to share more beautiful stories and valuable knowledge with all of you about China, Chinese people, Chinese culture, the Chinese market, and how to do business in China.

I am so happy that I can kick off this wonderful year with my first guest Vincent Djen. Vincent is a Sustainable Clothing Manufacturer in China and director of Cheng Kung Garments. Cheng Kung Garments supplies quality garments and fabrics for major lifestyle fashion brands in Europe and North America.

In 2019, Vincent co-founded REMAKEHUB.  REMAKEHUB is a young social enterprise with a great mission of transforming waste into new generational lifestyle products. Remakehub follows the β€œCradle to Cradle” design concept and provides circular solutions for waste pollution in the fashion industry.

Vincent is also a mentor and advisor for different fashion organizations. He co-founded FashionEx Shanghai to advise young fashion startups and major fashion companies on industry trends and strategies.

In this podcast # 8: How is the Chinese fashion industry developing and evolving? I talked with Vincent about:
🌱 His journey and challenges of joining and transforming the family fashion business in China after living and studying in America for ten years.
🌱 How is the Chinese fashion industry developing and evolving?
🌱 What’s the role of sustainability for the future of the Chinese fashion industry?
🌱 What are the main drivers for sustainability in the Chinese fashion industry?
🌱 How does fast fashion company Shein work with Chinese local manufacturers? How can foreign brands learn from Shein?
🌱 How is Shein working on optimizing the supply chain to reduce inventory waste and how they can further act on sustainability to create a bigger impact?
🌱 What are the common challenges of young fashion startups and how to overcome the challenges?
🌱 Tips for working with Chinese people and Chinese companies.
