Rijk Schipper comes from The Netherlands. He has worked and lived in Shanghai from 2005 to 2008 as Business Group President for all SCA Packaging and Hygiene businesses in Asia Pacific. SCA is a leading Hygiene and Forest Products Company in Europe with offices worldwide.
In this podcast, Rijk shared with us about the challenges of leading SCA businesses and Joint Ventures in China, about the general cultural differences and business cultural differences, and how he approached those differences. He also shared the strength of Chinese people he saw in those years and what people from different cultures can learn from each other.
Furthermore, Rijk also shared about the second part of his entrepreneurial life. For ten years, he has been representing a lot of Chinese contemporary artists to sell their artworks in Europe. Rijk shared about the friendships with those artists, how he build the friendships, and how the China journey has created new viewpoints, added new dimensions, and enriched his life.
