The Big Question: Price Gap

What Makes Salon Care Different

Expertise, Application, Aftercare

SPEAKER_00

Well, hey there, and welcome to Straight from the Stylist Chair. This is a special QA series here on All About Hair. I'm your host, Denise Keilitz, and I'm here to answer the real questions clients ask in the salon so you can feel confident and love every visit. Hey there and welcome back to Straight from the Stylist Chair, where we talk about what really goes into great hair. Today's question is: why do salon treatments cost more than drugstore ones? Hmm, that is a very good question. So, why do you want to spend salon prices for a treatment when there's a$15 mask on the shelf? Okay, let's talk about it. Let's break it down. So, your client, you see the price difference, and you wonder if salon treatments are really worth it. So maybe in the salon, the your stylist is talking to you about a$40 conditioning treatment. Well, it's easy to assume it's just markup when the real value isn't explained. Stylist, you need to explain what these treatments are, what it can do for the hair, because salon treatments use advanced technology, they use higher quality ingredients, and they're tailored to your hair's exact needs. Your stylist needs to explain this to you. Plus, the stylist's expertise means it's applied correctly and is followed by the right aftercare plan. Plus, it feels really, really good at the shampoo bowl when they're giving you a scalp massage, right? Yeah, I know. Um you might not get all of that treatment from a$15 mask on the uh shelf at the drugstore. It just depends on what it is that you're looking for. So, in short, you get deeper repair, longer lasting shine, and you often save money by preventing bigger damage long term when you spend the money on salon treatments. Hey, thanks for hanging out with me today. I hope today's chat helps you walk into your next appointment feeling totally confident.
